    Sweet bread
    Hody F.

It's been my third time coming to this Bakery, the first time I went to tour a rental house and took a different way back home and that's how I found it, since it was a Mexican bakery I wanted to give it a try to see if the sweet bread will be better from the other place I was getting it from and for my surprise it was, I walked in around 4:30pm the first time, bread was fresh and delicious, bought $8.00 worth and it was gone in two days, mom was staying over at my place and she liked it as well so did my hubby Second time, I finally found a decent rental house, it's hard in the South to find a good home that owner cares to fix, anyway, I walked in around 8pm on a New Years Eve and it was still open and they had some bread, not many but it was understandable since the holiday and time, got my usual $9.00 worth, this time my 4 yrs old got a big three color cookie, he absolutely love it, of course he couldn't eat it all so I tried it with my coffee, Oh my God!! It melt in my mouth, tasteful, moist simple delicious Third time I came with mom lol, we did some damage, I spend $17.00 got some sweet bread, typical candies made of real fruit from Mexico, they are similar to the ones in my country, mom got coffee and I think it was an empanada with meat inside, she didn't like it much, said that it tasted like fish, I didn't taste it so I can't tell you if it did or not, maybe it wasn't for her taste, my mom is recuperating from bronchitis so I want to be fair but now I do remember getting an elote loco (crazy corn in the cob) I think that's how it's call and it was rotten from the corner, I think I took a picture to tell them next time but I figure this is a bakery and I come here fir bread so I didn't say anything, pictures I didn't take from the inside, I guess I'm too excited buying lol I'll take one from the bread I have left from Friday night and to mention the bread was still fresh all those days I came after my first visit. On my picture you can see the three color cookie I was talking about, what you see on the picture are my favorite choices.

Mine, chicken, avocado, cheese & tomato on toasted bread $6.00 U CAN'T BEAT THAT!!!

Sweet bread didn't taste fresh and was a bit hard. The lady behind the register wasn't friendly either, I won't be going back.

Stopped in here for being highly rated for not only cakes but more specifically carrot cake…read more The staff was friendly and there's tons of baked goods all around the small space. Your head almost spins trying to see everything. Thankfully I was there for one thing. I ordered the slice of carrot cake which was pre cut. Which I typically try to avoid but they said that's what they had. We chatted briefly about extremely sweet icing and cake preferences before paying and leaving. The cake itself almost had zero sweetness to it which made the icing taste extremely sweet and unbalanced between to two. Even by itself the icing was very sweet. The cake , probably because it was precut and sitting for who knows how long, wasn't very moist. While not unbearably dry it was pushing the line of being too dry. I think a fresh cut slice would be way better moisture wise, but still unbalanced sweetness. I'd like to see what else the city a has to offer cake wise but I wouldn't call this one particularly great. I'd call this 2.5/5 but can't give half star reviews. The cake being the main reason for the visit and being kind of dry and unbalanced impacts the whole experience

We went on a Sunday morning and the staff was great and quick. For coffee, I tried one of their current specials, a cinnamon bun latte. I loved it. This latte is for someone who likes it sweet. For my lunch, I got the salami goat sandwich. It was creamy and spicy, and the bread had the perfect bounce. My friend ordered the turkey and fig sandwich, and she let me take a bite. I'd be tempted to order that one next time. As a note, they don't do any substitutions on any sandwich. They will let you remove an item, but you cannot swap. I took a lemon pistachio olive oil cake to go. This was the star of the show. It was light, fresh and moist. I would come back for one everytime. If you're walking down the riverwalk in Greenville, it's definitely worth the stop.

I will admit that my initial reaction to the Belgium waffle wasn't great. For a dine in experience, being served in a to-go container felt a little off, and the Smucker's syrup didn't exactly help matters. Let's be honest, that's not real maple syrup, and it definitely took away from the presentation. That said, the waffle itself redeemed those first impressions. It was delicious, light, and had this subtle hint of vanilla that made it feel a little more special than your standard waffle. That touch of sweetness and flavor helped me quickly forget my initial disappointment. The breakfast presentation could use a little upgrade, but the taste absolutely delivered.

I know you're thinking, "there's no way that tasted good" but it did! My sis has lots of food sensitivities that cause her auto-immune eczema to break out so we avoid all those allergens. My sister LOVED this cake! I wanted a special cake for her 30th since she hasn't eaten cake in 5 years! Christine from Baking Sweet Scents was up to the challenge and spent time with me listing ingredients so we were completely sure it was safe. I really appreciated the time and effort. Christine also deals with some allergens so she understands the difficulties. I selected the chocolate almond flour cake, double layered, semi-naked, with stevia instead of sugar, and macarons on top to be nestled into the specific flowers I wanted, gladiolus for August birthday month. The cost for this custom cake with all the specific ingredients was so reasonable. I will be ordering another smaller one for my grandmother's 80th who also avoids sugar and gluten. I see this trend becoming popular, thanks Christine!
