Half rack of spare ribs with Cole slaw and corn bread with fresh cheese melted on top.

I would never have thought that a Peruvian bbq place would be in the heart of Hialeah. What can I say, the ribs are fall of the bone, the chicken wings smothered with their homemade chirimoya bbq sauce divine. Something that is not common is the homemade steak fries which is common in Peru. Service was 100% the best and very attentive. The ambience with nice music and a relaxing atmosphere. The queso flan really good. Overall, a must try especially if it's located in Hialeah.

Half rack of St. Louis spare ribs with pastel de choclo and coleslaw

While in Hialeah on business, I decided to try La Veridica BBQ based on a positive review I'd read in the Miami Herald. Arriving just after opening on a Saturday, it was easy to park and there were no other patrons, although it looks as though the parking could be difficult during busier hours. I got the chance to speak with the affable Chef Mario Barone about the restaurant, its food concepts and community reaction to the aforementioned review. We started off with apps of brisket tequeños, Que Buenas Yucas, and chicken empanadas. The tequenos were savory and crispy. The Yucas was in the tradition of the Cuban papa rellenos only instead of potato and ground beef, yucas and brisket is used. The chicken empanadas were quite good, with the chicken being slowly steeped in beer prior to preparation. For the main course, we each had a half rack of St. Louis hickory smoked ribs. The ribs had a pleasant, not overpowering smoke finish. The 3 sauces available at the table are all good and are a nice accompaniment, my fave was called Rocoto. The thing I liked best about the ribs was the cliché "the meat fell off the bone" is not hype, it's the TRUTH! If you are dining with another person, you may save money by getting a full rack of ribs and sharing. With the ribs you get standard fare coleslaw and, with what I considered to be the standout of the meal, pastel de choclo. I considered this to be "Peruvian cornbread " but it's more like corn CAKE. The texture and taste were outstanding. I washed my meal down with a Peruvian artisanal pale ale called "No Me abandones cariñito " which was very delicious and refreshing. Our server was very nice and the food came out promptly. I'm taking off a star because the listed price for the empanadas was $10 (see photo) but I discovered later at home I'd been charged $13. Other than that, La Veridica was overall a pleasant dining experience I'd recommend, especially for people in the north end of Miami-Dade County.

    Lunch special... pulled pork

I love it! It is always a pleasure eating here. The server is patient and nice. The place is clean. The bathroom is beautiful. The food is delicious. Most recently I had the pulled pork with cilantro rice and tostones. The soup it comes with is tasty and filling. I took leftovers home so I can keep enjoying later. Pisco sour is on point!

Por favor no vengan dia entre semana, una comida re calentada $90 un brisket viejo costillas super seca no eran de hoy garantizado. Honestly I had such high hopes for this place and being a bbq fan I wished it would've been better. I'm assuming it's better on weekends one would hope but if that's the case they really shouldn't even serve family platters if it's not going to be fresh food. Service and attention was good, food was a solid 2/10.

    What delicious Beers!!!

I've often passed this place countless…read moretimes and been reluctant to enter because all the food around here is overpriced and not that amazing. Walking in, we were immediately greeted by the smells of the smoked meat and the wood and country music. The place was decorated very patriotic with photos and patches and paraphernalia of first responders and service members. It felt like home. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Their sweet tea was on point. We opted for a lighter lunch and decided to share the 3 meat sampler with a few sides. It was a good portion for 2 to share (for a lighter meal). They have different bbq sauces that you can try, and you can even make a 6 pack to go. I will most definitely be returning.

I selected a couple of add-ons for my meal as well. I had house made fries ($3.95), baked beans with bacon ($3.49) with were the highlight of the meal & loaded Mac & Cheese ($3.59), green beans ($3.54). The baked beans were certain the stand out! Service was fast & the staff were very polite. The shift manager even came around to check on the meal with us. Very cool ambiance as well. All based on US Military & first responders. A polite & dignified view of these professions. I would definitely do this over again.

So, I was finally able to go on Friday, August 14th. The place was quiet and tranquil. I met Jorge inside the Taproom and we walked over to the BBQ trailer to place the order. I decided on the Pork Ribs, Coleslaw, and some fresh French Fries. (Guys, he also does Pork Belly Burnt Ends!) I told him i'll have to put the PBBE on my next visit. Jorge was friendly, patient, and accommodating (I was the only there ordering at the time). It's also good to judge an operation when they are busy and cranking it out. But, today was my day for his BBQ. The wait for the food was about 15 mins. and he brought the silver tray inside for me. All the food looked so pleasant, clean, and neat...I had to take pictures. I like this presentation; the clean orderly look of good BBQ. Tells me a lot about the chef. Dig in: My first bite of the Ribs, the meat fell right off the bone. It was amazing! No sauce! Just clean meat deliciousness. I tried the 'Slaw, and then the Fries. They both complemented the Pork Ribs. I sat in my chair and savored the rest of my platter (check pics please). Or better yet, you need to go visit yourself and try the BBQ! Here is the Hours of Operation below: Thursday 5pm- 10pm Friday 5pm-11pm Saturday 2pm - 11pm Sunday 2pm-6pm

Their yuca is perfect. I love their fried pork chunks with congris, plantain and yuca... a bit stuck in my ways! This is a great place to pick up a meal for an event of the whole family. Although there is on-site dining available, I've always seen this as a takeout place. We live a couple of miles away, and it's a quick and convenient option for a truly authentic treat. Parking is also consistently a mess! Be aware that cars often double and even triple park. Don't worry... most people are picking up to go, so you're unlikely to have to wait long if the lot is full.

You can either whole trays of food or portion size and are charged per pound of food. As for me, I ordered their Cuban style fried rice. It was nicely loaded with ham, scrambled eggs and other veggies. I sampled the pork chunks some fellow foodie friends ordered and it was juicy & flavorful. Logistically, I am knocking a star because although they have an inside seating area, you can only sit down if you order from there instead of going through the line. They do have a few tables and fans outside.
