Should have come here sooner- been trying to find pizza as good as nona's which was in the same shopping center until more than a year ago with no luck. But finally we have it close here. Thin sliced sausage/ pepperoni and vegs, great crust. Just what we were looking for Can't speak to their fairly extensive menu besides pizza but will be trying that soon- other reviews seem to have that covered. We needed 15 pizzas on short notice for an outdoor group event and the owner and his staff came through for us! The pizzas were just delicious and everyone loved them, everyone at the restaurant was so accommodating and kind, and they even included some panettone which the guys ate and loved. I've also had their pasta before as well, ordered for takeout, and their Pasta Alla Vodka is maybe my favorite pasta dish in Richmond--the flavor in the sauce is just awesome. Whether it's catering for a golf tournament when you want to socially distance but still have great food, or dinner at home for your and your family, seriously you've got to try this place. We are pizza snobs, good pizza is hard to find around Richmond, and the pizza here is very good. Crust could be crisper, but sauce and cheese have a ton of flavor. Also tried the eggplant parmesan -- was pretty good. Pasta was good but is boxed pasta -- not homemade. read more

Pizza is amazing! We get pizza all the time. We tried lasagna and baked ziti the other night. It was good but not excellent. I was kinda disappointed. The ziti was a little dry. The lasagna was plain. We'll try again tho. We really enjoy this place and the service. read more

We recently ordered takeout. I was just kind of disappointed because I thought everything would be better based on the reviews. I got garlic bread and it was a lot smaller than the six rolls that it said on the menu. I'm not sure that the fried ravioli didn't come out of a box and the pizza was OK, but not great. Ordered eggplant parm, generous portion of both the pasta and eggplant. Tomato Sauce is smooth, not chunky... sweet a touch spicy! The house salad with vinaigrette dressing tangy and crunchy veggies, fresh! And the small loaf of garlic bread was a nice touch to a yummy meal! Food is good but EVERY time we order takeout we end up waiting 10-15 minutes longer than when they say it'll be ready.

We discovered after looking for a new local pizza place - glad we did. We have only had pizza so far. Tasty and fresh ingredients (compared to other places) and even the mozzarella cheese tastes premium. They also don't appear to gouge you for a speciality pizza. We have even tried the Sicilian and it was great. They are very nice on the phone and we will be back frequently. read more

We've seen this place before and "needed" some pizza and pasta so we finally decided to try it tonight. We were NOT disappointed. The service was fantastic. Food was realllly good. We picked the pasta with marinara sauce over the pink sauce (but now we'll have to go back and try that one...) and man, it was amazing, garlicky with a great fresh tomato consistency. I don't say that about a lot of sauces here in RVA. I grew up in a predominantly Italian town in NE Ohio (go Niles Red Dragons!) and this is finally somewhere I will want to go back to again and again for my Italian fix. We also ordered a Sicilian pizza (also an anomaly here in RVA) and it was just the right amount of crispy. It was also so huge, it would feed at least 6 people! The portions were on point for the price (which aren't exactly cheap but nothing is these days) and it was at least worth it! We will definitely be back read more

I have frequented this restaurant since it first opened. I moved from New York City a little over a year ago. My family and I absolutely love this place. Whenever family or friends have come to visit it is our go to place with them in order to insure they enjoy what they eat. It had been impossible to find an Italian restaurant with decent food equal to what one can get in New York. However, as soon as this gem opened, we realized we had found it! Besides loving the food we adore the owner and staff. They are wonderful and friendly to talk to and definitely know how to run a restaurant. If ever we experienced even a little issue it was met with over and above compensation. And given the number of times we have gone here or taken out from here they are not even mentionable. I've had pizza at more than 20 restaurants in metro Richmond, and I have to say La Vita E' Bella offers one of the best. It's NY style pizza, which is very difficult to find in the Richmond area. The bottom is actually cooked, the top of the dough under the cheese has all the small nooks and crannies to hold all the light tomato paste, it has just the right amount of cheese, and the toppings were fresh. Far too many places serve either undercooked pizza, pizza that's too thick (I never liked Bottoms Up), or pizza that has a processed taste. If you like NY style, I believe you'll enjoy what La Vita E' Bella has to offer. It's a small place in a strip mall, but don't let that fool you. This place, located on Nuckols Road, has MOD beat by a mile! read more

We just moved to the area and were exhausted and hungry. Driving around we decided to go for some Italian. I had the special which tasted homemade and the servings were generous. My hubby had the sampler which I had to take a bite of. The lasagna which was part of his plate was seasoned perfectly. We'll be back to try the pizzas. read more

We had really high hopes for pizza from La Vita é Bella since we haven't had any good local pizza since Nonna's left from the same shopping strip (due to abysmal parking). The reviews on Yelp were really encouraging. Now this review is for their takeout pizza, not for any other of their menu items, but it was hands-down the WORST pizza we have ever had. The crust was inedible--doughy, chewy and under-cooked with no hint of ANY crispness. The sauce was bland and insipid and the mozzarella "builder's grade" at best. It was comparable to the cheapest supermarket frozen pizza. We could not even finish the first slice, let alone the whole pizza. Thank goodness we enjoyed the "Greek" salad even though it had Italian dressing, not the Greek we were expecting. Maybe it was an unusually bad night but we won't be giving their pizza a second chance. read more

They had something called a rice-ball as a special -never had that before and sampled 2 of them... another hit!
