I haven't had to go to a dedicated place for a blood draw before but after this experience I plan to avoid it. The place is packed and even though I have made an appointment I've been waiting for more than half an hour. So if you have to go here, plan to clear your whole morning or afternoon. A lady is at the counter is complaining where her appointment went. Her appointment was for 11:30am and it is now 12:25pm. The phlebotomist reprimanded me for not handing my paper with the work I needed to the person at the front desk. "You should automatically hand it to them" was her response when I said the front desk didn't ask for it. It is self check in and the front desk only called me to confirm my insurance, because duh health care is only about getting paid. In the blood draw room another staff person is talking to my phlebotomist that he doesn't know how the front desk works. They made him go work the front, because the front desk person left and there are still people coming in. In a word, shit show. So the point of this long pointless story is PASS. AVOID. SAY NO. Horrible facility. They lost my appointment, labeled me as a walk-in. I checked in with the front desk 4 times. The last time, I told them I'd been there for over an hour and wasn't feeling well from fasting. The lady at the front desk screamed at me and completely lost her temper. Checked in at 10:15 for a 10:30 appointment. It's 10:55 and I'm still not seen. To get paperwork they called me by my middle name instead of my first which confused a lot of things. When I asked why my name disappeared from the board the front desk answered my question then rudely announced to the waiting room. "Does anyone else have check in questions?" Part of Quest Diagnostics, Labcorp provides various testing and screenings. I had to come here for an employment-related screening, and while I wished that they had appointments set-up, the process didn't take too long. It's more of a first-come, first-serve, where you check-in digitally; then, you are requested to wait outside until you are called, due to COVID procedures (which I appreciated!). There's plenty of curb space, so there was already a line outside the door. I was called within 10 minutes or so; the tech was super friendly, informative, asked questions, and provided specific procedures. Literally, in and out - quick and painless! Wow just wow. I had to come in for a walk in because they had no appointments for almost 2 weeks. It was packed and I waited an hour and 15 minutes (mind you I was called up and told I would be seen soon). The front desk staff was clearly stressed and taking it out on patients. They kept disappearing from the desk. I waited to ask when I would be called they admitted they just FORGOT to take my order and put it on the board to be called. I was there for an hour and a half. I will NEVER return. I will pay for an at home test or go elsewhere. They didn't even offer me an apology! read more

Quick: Yes, I would go back and my tech TeQuan was great -amazing actually. Almost zero pain, one quick stick, and one of the best draws I've ever had. I'm known as a hard stick and sometimes need a specialist. Previously, at other places, I've had multiple people attempt multiple times. So, I very much appreciated the stellar skills of TeQuan. Thanks much, T. Detailed Review: I had a 9:30 AM appointment on a Saturday and arrived 15 minutes early, per Labcorp instructions. There were three automated check-in machines in a not very large waiting area that had seating for about 25 or so people. At least 40 people were in there with more waiting outisde, so quite crowded. Therefore, make an appointment online... a day before, if possible, to reduce your wait time. I was in/out in just under 45 minutes, 35 minutes of which were waiting just outside the front door. People who were walk-ins probably waited in excess of an hour. You scan your driver's license/picutre ID on a kiosk machine upon entering the office, and it marks you as arrived with an option to enter your email address or phone to receive a notification. That allows you to wait outside or in your car without missing your turn. That's smart. Also, there was a monitor high up on the wall that listed everyone's last name and showed whether they had an appointment or were walk-in (nearly everyone was walk-in during the time I was there). You were able to see where your place was in the waiting queue -very helpful. Aesthetically, the place looks very run down... I'm talking about the faux wood floor boards had come up in several places and were pasted back down with lots of cracks showing a blue underflooring. It looked like it needed to be painted (white door separating the waiting room and tech rooms was all scuffed and blackened... likely from strollers, wheelchairs, and sneakers knocking against it). It had that old restaurant that you like to eat at kind of clean/dirty vibe... meaning it looked crappy aesthetically but you somehow had confidence that the important parts were well cleaned/sanitary. There was also a super-sized lumpy but well-cushioned chair for the blood draw. I weigh as much as 3 thin adult women (no not a joke but a fact and I'm working on that). So, I very much appreciated the gigantic chair. I easily fit into it and didn't have to jump up to get on either. If you are in need of that, you are in luck. As for the cleanliness of the blood draw room -zero complaints. I had confidence it was well-cleaned and sanitary even though the clinic itself has seen better days and is long overdue for a makeover. Now... here is the most important part. There were two people behind the glass assisting patients with check-in. I had very little interaction with them but they were polite to myself and others as I observed. I think they handled the busy room perfectly and all the people seemed chill and not agitated enduring the wait patiently. There were many families there and the crowd of patients seemed normal (not sketchy). I don't know how many techs were on duty, I only saw two or three pop out from the back but there were surely more. As mentioned above, I was very impressed with my phlebotomist. He was not only phenomenal with the blood draw but seemed like a nice person. I asked some questions and he was patient, friendly, and helpful. For this and all the above reasons, I would go back (with an appointment) despite how ugly the office looks and how busy it was. Apparently, it's like that every Saturday. I don't recommend this location for the very sick, frail elderly, or those in a wheelchair who need more personal space unless you make an appointment and try to come during the week at a time when it is not super crowded. Also, there was plenty of parking surrounding the office but it might be more difficult to find a spot (you'll need to wait) during peak times. read more

My insurance required I go to LabCorp so I didn't have a choice. My experience though was very smooth and I would hesitate going back again. I had made an appoint online for 9am when they open. There was some chaos out front and I didn't realize I was supposed to check in Inside until I'd been waiting about 10 minutes. Once I did, i was taken care of immediately. I had even entered the wrong work I needed done, but they easily provided me with the ability to email them my order so they could put it together. Once it was received, I was in and out in 5 minutes, parking lot Is small but on Saturday at 9am there were open spaces. Pro tip: it's on the side of the building. The staff that work at this location are always complaining about a coworker who didn't show up or how busy they were the day before etc. and do not care who is around. Talk all you want, however not in the presence of the patients. Very unprofessional. There are only two males--one of whom may have left this office as I haven't been seeing him--who withdraw quickly and pain free. All the others either cause me to have a large bruised area, use large needles for my skinny arm, or the withdrawal site is bleeding out during the process of withdrawing blood. On my last two visits, I wasn't asked for my name and/or my birthdate as they are supposed to verify that info every time for each patient right before withdrawal. The only reason I visit this facility is because its relatively near to my home and can get my labs done before work. read more

I had to have some blood drawn so I went here. However the receptionist was super rude and told us if there wasnt an ipen seat id have to wait outside. I coupent wait in my car because my wife registered her phone number so they texted her and not me. Then when i was finally called back to get my blood drawn the lab tech was mean. I told her i was scared of needles yet she ignired ut and just stuck me in my arm like i was a heroin addict. It hurt so had and when i told her this she tild me thats normal and to just he still. When it was oher she just dismissed ne. I was shooed out very rudely. Now i have a huge bruise on my afm where she stuck me. It looks like i got ibto a fight with a volleyball and the volleyball won. I go to a couple labcorp locations and this one is my last choice. I was reminded of this on a recent visit for an appointment I had made. The individual working the front desk was borderline rude from the moment I stepped up and greeted her. She couldn't find my lab order in their system so I had to email it to their system. I was then told to sit down and wait until she got the email with my lab order in it. You would expect then that once received, she would call me back up or at least tell me she got it but no. I checked in with her after about 20 minutes of waiting at which time she acted like my question was an inconvenience for her and that I should have been able to read her mind or something to know she had already processed my paperwork. I'm over this location and will not be returning ever again no matter how convenient the location might be for me. read more

Mine broke on the way into the clinic. I asked for a mask was told to check in on the tablet. I said okay may I please have a mask. Was told that the other clinic is down the hall. I said okay may I please have a mask. Then I was fed up and replied that she needs a mask to come inside. Still was not given a mask. I came here to get blood drawn so it could be sent for testing to confirm provide bone marrow donation. Not only did I have to come here twice, because they inexplicably failed the first submission somehow, but they weren't even able to accommodate a quick emergency reschedule to fix their own mistake. The unfortunate soul I was supposed to donate to ended up dying before I was able to actually donate bone marrow, most likely due to the delay in testing, and I firmly blame Labcorp for this because of their inadequate practices. I would hate for me or anyone else to be put on a slab because of Labcorp's mistakes, but that ended up happening to my potential donation recipient in this scenario. P.S. I had to wait an extended period in the lobby for both blood draws, despite making it early for each session. I wouldn't have even mentioned this, because of the grim situation with the actual victim and the comparatively low problem with me, but for most testers this is completely inexcusable. read more

This place had me sitting outside in 85 degree weather for half an hour. I went in to ask what was going on because i saw people who came after me being called in. I was told they were just about to come get me and to give them a quick minute. I go back outside and 15 minutes later, still no one. When i go back in to ask AGAIN what's going on, I was told they'll go ahead and check me in. Just to be told they didn't even have an orders for me and to call my doctor, which i could've been doing while waiting outside. I ended up just leaving because they were closing early. I never thought I'd find myself giving a LabCorp location a five star rating, but here I am. The staff I encountered at this location--notably Courtney and Tammy--were exceptionally competent and kind with me this past week when I brought my infant son in for a blood draw. As you can imagine, it's tough to tap into the vein of such a tiny person while they wiggle and scream, but these ladies did it! More importantly perhaps, their bedside manner in working with this frazzled mom and her distressed baby was what motivated me to write this review. They were so sweet with my son, gentle in conducting the blood draw, and helpful in showing me how to hold him. I ended up having to come back a second time, and Courtney assured me that she would be working the day i planned to return and would ensure they had sufficient pediatric needles. Immediately upon walking in, Courtney recognized me and assured us she would get us back ASAP (there were about 15 others waiting). The staff worked quickly through the other waiting patients and got us back impressively fast. Again, this far exceeded my expectations and made me feel valued as a patient. Visited LabCorp located in Springfield, VA. Great staff!! Since I had an appointment, got in and did my lab work in about 20 minutes (thanks to Latoya). But I felt sorry for the 13-14 other patients, including children who either were standing or being held by their parents since only 5 chairs were available to sit in. Patients were even sitting on the bottom of the window sills. I was there last Thursday and the number of patients in that small waiting/check-in area was unbelievable! I left after waiting for about 30 minutes standing. Today 4/4/22, I tried to use your automated phone check-in and was not available, warning me that the link via text I received from LabCorp that the site might be trying to steal my personal data. Wow!! I feel having everyone make an appointment would not really solve the problem in the small waiting/check-in area. I feel the Springfield lab needs a bigger office and work building to really make your patients fell more comfortable while waiting. That was my first time visiting this lab. I wanted to have a glucose test. ( My doctor would not order it for me). I ordered it myself. I walked in, registered, I was called in under 10 mins, drank some cold grape sugary stuff, had my blood drawn. I had to wait 2 hours for my next blood draw...then I was out of there. While I was standing and waiting my turn, a Labcorps staff, who supposedly was monitoring people coming in the door from outside, told a man to come and then, when he was inside the room, told the man to check-in at the freestanding check-in machines against one wall. Labcorps staff was Grossly Incompetent because the man was NOT wearing a mask!! Yet, there are big signs on the door and inside the room that masks are to be worn at all times. The man, then, apparently realized that he didn't have a mask and walked out. Labcorps staff endangered all patients in the room. 2. Despite the fact that I signed a form stating I would pay for all the tests if my health insurance did not, Labcorps staff did not draw all the blood needed to perform four of the RX tests. So, that major mistake necessitated that I go to another (not Labcorps) Lab and have my blood drawn again. Gross incompetence or maybe negligence! read more

The staff and environment of the Labcorp on Duke Street, in Alexandria, Va was exceptional. I felt comfortable bringing my son in to have his allergy panel completed. I arrived at 11am, signed in and sat down to wait. I wore a mask and sanitized my hands. There was one other woman in the office waiting, sitting 10 feet away, also wearing a mask. The attendant at the desk told me I had to wait outside. It was 90 degrees outside and full sun. I told her it was hot and I didn't have anywhere comfortable to wait. She told me I still had to wait outside and they would call me when they were ready for me. I tried to wait, but it was too hot, so I left. I got a call that they were ready for me at 12:10pm. They expected me to wait over an hour in the heat. It was unreasonable, unsafe and rude. Will definitely not return. read more

Unfortunately, I had a horrible experience. I walked in and the receptionist barely wanted to talk to me. The only 2 things she said to me was "check in" and "take a seat", no greeting at all. What really wanted me to leave out of that place running was when the specimen collector by the name of Dana took a personal phone call on her cell phone. I wish I could give this incompetent Labcorp location zero stars. Their staff cannot be trusted to properly submit samples for testing and/or input test codes correctly. That's their job. But because they cannot do their job properly, their customers have to wait for results that never come and then get their tests re-done. Really, really horrible. read more
