It's ironic that the unprofessional 20-something that condescendingly told me I was effectively too dehydrated to give blood and talked to me as if I was a small child when I'm 20 years her senior couldn't draw enough blood (from either arm) and then the more experienced lab tech came over and had no problem in the first arm she'd already tried (and also corrected her on how to pull the needle out b/c she did it wrong). They also both snickered when they saw the request was from Function Health, as if it's any of their business. I'll just leave it at that. Convenience on weekend is probably the only plus. It was clean on arrival. The bathroom for leaving urine had no soap, towelette for pre wipe or hand towels! I have never seen that. Tech handed me a cup with bare hands. I guess I expected a bit more sanitary conditions. I ignored the fact that they weren't super friendly. Would I come again - probably because it is conveniently located and open on weekends but hope they step up on quality. read more

Quest Diagnostics in Franconia is a good location for needed lab work. The best thing I like about Quest is your ability to schedule an appointment through their web site. You do not have to set up an account or password to use it. When you arrive, you can then check right in and are usually seen within a few minutes. It is a busy place, so I do recommend making an appointment. Even on Saturday morning when they open at 8:00 a.m. there will be a line already queued up. read more

This location is easy to access and seems clean, but a routine blood draw left me bruised. I'm not pleased, as I get blood drawn at my doctor's office and they use a thinner needle and never leave a mark. I have had my blood drawn here before and the tech evidently poked the needle all the way through my vein, leaving me with a blood bruise on the underside of my arm that went from my elbow almost to my wrist and took three weeks to dissipate. read more

They over charge and can never get the billing right. I have a deal where I'm supposed to get free screenings through my insurance, but they charge anyway. Call them and they put in some request to figure it out but end up sending same bill again. They literally can't get anything right. Horrible business. read more

Honestly, I couldn't ask anything more from a lab. To date, this has been the best experience I've had getting blood drawn for routine lab work. Unlike other Quest or Labcorb locations, this location has good staff coverage for the steady flow of people. The lab counter was clean and free of other patients specimens. I was asked to check and re-check to certify that my name and demographics were correct on my vial of blood (sadly, I've found this rare at many labs). The lab itself is located on the 2nd floor of the building and is accessible by stairs and elevator. The waiting room is spacious with plenty of chairs, there are even a couple current magazines. I got the feeling most of the patrons were from the neighboring BRAC relocation as most were dressed in business or business casual attire and did not have children with them (read: quiet waiting room). read more

I've been to this lab 3 total times and 2/3 visits were an awful experience. The first visit the staff was unfriendly and disorganized, and they ended up running the wrong tests on my sample and I had to get it re-done. Then they were closed on a Saturday because the AC wasn't working (even though it is only a 4 hour window that they had to be open) so I couldn't drop off a time-sensitive sample. Always a nightmare. I have frequently used this location due to it's proximity to my home and Quest takes my insurance. I make an appointment every time I go in. However, appointments seem to matter little and aren't respected. Usually wait at least a half hour to enter after the scheduled appointment time, even though I arrive early. During my last visit, one poor guy waited an hour and a half because they accidentally crossed him off the list as being done but never called him. Also, multiple jabs because they poked the wrong spot are common. Quest has many other locations. I will not return here. read more

Recoiling from a terrible experience this morning at Quest. We had previously had very positive experiences at this particular lab and returned as a result. The two women working today left quite a bit to be desired - almost zero compassion or concern for patient's needs. I have two small children that needed blood draws. I've never had an issue before, but both of the techs combined couldn't get a vein on my infant. Instead of admitting this and suggesting we come back later or try a pediatrician, they kept trying for nearly 15 minutes, despite his and my dispair. As an adult I hate having the needle poked into my arm while the tech 'feels around' for a vein - I am still shocked that anyone would do this to an infant, and without a hint of compassion or concern. I finally took him away and will not be going back. The office is clean, location is fine, and as I said I've previously used this lab without issue. There is a huge dependence on who is working, and the current staff seem abysmal. In addition to my immediate concerns for my son, there was a long line, patients were treated slowly with or without appointment, and neither of the techs seemed remotely concerned or phased. We were in the lab for over an hour, which is completely unprecedented for me. I'd definitely try another location. read more

Rude and slow. When I arrived at Quest, the was a waiting room full of patients, including several small children but not reception or Quest employees. An inappropriate movie was showing on the TV (R or PG 17 I'm guessing). When the mother asked if she could turn off the TV, the very rude tech said "Jesus Christ" rolled her eyes and stumped to the TV to turn it off. I was leery because of the negative reviews of this place. But I had to get blood work done and it was nearby. My experience was good. It was a weekday and was only a short wait. They entered me in the system right away. The nurse took me back within 10 minutes and I was all done 5 mins later. I would have given it 5 stars but I think she almost rushed me out a little too quick because the bandage bled through when I got back to the car. Appointments and experiences don't get much better than this. Clean location with great signs/directions to guide you to their suite. Arrived 15 minutes early (for a Saturday appointment) and was pretty much promptly greeted by Essence who took care of everything - logging me in, taking care to ensure they had the correct forms (which were faxed weeks earlier), ensuring my information was accurate, was extremely friendly and helpful AND was an expert at taking my blood. I go to this location for blood work every quarter. I make an appointment and they get me in and out quickly and painlessly. Initially finding the location was half the battle and signs at the building exist but are not really obvious. Occasionally, the staff has had some administrative problems with my orders but they were patient and worked directly with my physician to get things straight while I was on-site so that I didn't have to reschedule. Not a big fan of concierge medical services . . . but this site does a good job. read more

The exact opposite experience from Lab Corp. Quiet, carpeted waiting room. Very professional, efficient and friendly front desk attendant. I was 10 mins late for my appointment, and showed up only 20 mins before they closed, but they laughed and said it was all good. Clean. Blood draw was quick and painless and done in one poke (I asked for a small gauge needle which they accomodated). After the tubes were full, she showed me the labels (without being asked) just so I could verify that they had drawn the samples exactly according to the doctor's orders. Was in and out of there in about 15 minutes. Bottle this customer service experience and sell it because this is how a visit to a lab should be. read more

Just ok. Last time I was here I needed complex blood work done for mold testing. Found out when I went back to my doctor that they ignored a couple of the tests and I had to go back a second time. If they didn't understand they should have asked. Receptionist was also rolling her eyes at patients. I've been back since and don't think she works there anymore. I think they could be a little more kind and professional but it is a basic lab. I do prefer labcorp in general when I have an option. read more

Over the years I've been to a handful of Quest locations in the DC area for blood work. Most are filthy and have a completely incompetent staff. This location is clean, organized, and has the friendliest and most helpful guy at the front desk. The lab techs are equally pleasant and efficient. The second staff member that took me to the back was not that much friendlier either. I went here on the morning of 23 May 15 for simple blood work. I arrived shortly after the office opened. After a short wait I was called-up to the desk by a [thin black] woman with corn row hair in a lab coat. She didn't appear to be one of the receptionists, but possibly a lab technician. I walked up to the counter while she watched me. When I reached the counter I waited for her to provide directions on what she needed and instead she stood there staring at me and eventually said, in a loud disgusted voice, "well, what do you want?" Not "good morning sir, how can I help you?," but "well, what do you want?" I told her I though that was a rude way to start a conversation and she defended her action by arguing with me and put me down in front of the other customers and staff for "just standing there and not talking." This individual needs to be removed from interacting with customers until they receive several hours of remedial training on the topic. Quest Diagnostics management--please take note. Also, I certainly have no desire to return to this facility as a result. I rarely post reviews, but after sleeping on this one for a month+ I decided (particularly after receiving the bill) that I needed to say something. Also, I just received my bill...over $1,050 for simple blood work. Incredible! Even after the insurance reductions it is still over $200 for blood work. I had the same blood work accomplished at Virginia Medical Center last year and it was less than $15 after insurance. I went here on the recommendation of my doctor, who will get feedback on the high cost of this facility. Hopefully they will recommend a lower cost option to their patients in the future. I will say the technician who drew my blood was excellent. Pleasant and friendly and careful not to mis-stick me. Kudos to her. For me, the cost of this service and the rudeness and lack of professionalism I received upon initial greeting warrant the single star rating. read more
