Avoid this location if you value professional service or basic courtesy. The front desk staff was incredibly rude, spent the majority of my wait loudly discussing her personal life (dog adoption and waiting for her mother's approval), and was dismissive toward everyone in the room. I watched her yell at elderly and ESL patients who struggled with the kiosk rather than offering help. When I was finally called--by my full name yelled across the room--the experience only worsened. I was handed a $150 "estimated" bill despite my insurance covering the visit fully which I verified prior to the visit. When I asked for clarification, the staff was condescending and told me to "call them to find out." Terrible location. I waited over an hour for a drug test that I made a appointment for. After mentioning this they finally decided to look at records. Don't recommend this location to anyone. Staff are super unorganized and scatterbrain. I wanted to reschedule my appointment because of how long this took and was told essentially to sit down and wait. I would rate the care quality of this place 0/10. They could care less for your time or well-being. read more

Very seldomly. Well, I leave a one star review, but I feel like this this place earned one. I would have loved to make an appointment. But the receptionist was awful and VERY rude and unprofessional. I called and the, male receptionist who answered was extremely rude and unhelpful. I made a simple inquiry about parking and landmarks. I also raised my concerns about disability access. As I did not want to waste their time or mine. All of my questions were dismissed. He could not even answer the most basic of all questions. After every question, the male receptionist just got even ruder and louder...nor would he give me his name. Awful. At this point, I felt incredibly uncomfortable even attempting to come here. Go somewhere else were staff does not have a ratchet attitude. And knows how to address Disablity concerns. This place is the worst. I needlessly waited an hour for routine bloodwork after the check-in kiosk said they'd text me when they were ready. Turns out, that part of the system doesn't work here. It's a known issue, and they don't tell people about it. I tried in vain to to get them to do something to prevent the same thing from happening to the next person. For example, put a sign on the kiosk. The lazy staffer gave one excuse after another: "I'm busy," "I don't have any signs," "I need approval to make a sign," "I can't call management," etc. Then, when I called management, it became clear where this place's indifference to other people's time comes from. I came for a walk-in. You should drive around to find a parking and then walk over. I used the tablet to check in which was easy. All the staff was friendly and efficient with a smile. The waiting room was good. It's very convenient on the ground floor. (good for wheelchairs or simply to get in and out quickly) Maybe the reviews last year were when previous employees were working there. But several of today's crew was smiling and efficient. In so many reviews, people want to be treated like Taylor Swift. If you follow the steps to check in, speak and confirm things, it's not complicated. I did order tests from Labcorp so it was maybe easier. So, great location, just do your research to use park mobile if your wont be long otherwise pay for parking. Staff in 2024 is great. So treat them like you want to be treated and you should be good. read more

Went in to Glebe location for a screening, waited for ages and then had a sample taken. Only AFTER that did they inform that they don't test for this at this location. Told to call around to figure out which location accepts it - why can't LabCorp help me with this? Unfortunately their website search doesn't allow to filter locations who accept this particular sample type either. It's a time sensitive donation too... no one answering the phone at any area location for more than 30 minutes. Finally get an answer and they will accept it at the 13900 Park Center Rd location... except it's appointment only for drop offs now. Next appointment 2 weeks... What? So now I have to go through this entire process again - could have just driven the sample there in plenty of time and had it tested. Absurd incompetence. read more

Nasty, mean, unhelpful. The staff at the front desk has demonstrated not only a lack of professionalism but also a lack of compassion for the people who are needing help from them. I waited an hour for my relative called as a walk-in. The woman at the front desk grumbled about the doctor's complex instructions on the labwork but said she would call him next. I went back to my car and waited (this lab has no good parking options outside and there are always people waiting so they don't get towed). Twenty minutes later, he was still waiting. I asked the staffer what was happening and she said, "We called him twice but he didn't come." My relative's health issues make it easy for him to tune out the world and noises around him. Sometimes it is hard to hear when you are called under normal circumstances; with challenges, it is more difficult. He was sitting right in front of them. It is hard to believe they could not have raised their voice a little or waved to him. He was less than 10 feet away. My jaw nearly dropped and my relative felt so bad. I told him it wasn't his fault. His ability to tune out is part of his what is labeled his disability. He is wired differently. We had to leave to get him to an appointment and the labwork could not be done. While this is the second bad experience we have had on site, one staff member at this lab - Tiffany - has been immensely helpful in sorting out an issue with his lab prescription. She reached out to us and followed through with phone calls. It was impressive and we appreciated it. These lab workers are understaffed and overworked. There are not many labs to choose from and they get full fast. We are aware of all of those things and try to give them the benefit of the doubt, especially in COVID times. However, the attitude and manner of the front desk worker was simply inacceptable: she looked almost smug when telling us she had done her duty and called out his name, then moved on. It was an ugly display of someone getting satisfaction from not helping. read more

My son nearly passed out after blood was drawn -- through no fault of anyone's, of course. The nurses were so great with him. They remained cheerful even as he faded in and out. They also treated with smelling salts and a cold compress, and they encouraged me to dash to a cafe across the hall to get apple juice. After a short while in a recliner, he had recovered and was ready to roll. The situation could have been alarming, but they got us through it with an upbeat professional attitude. Two hour wait, even with an appointment. At least I didn't have trouble peeing in the cup. By the time they took me, I could have filled a dozen or more of the cups. Not overly friendly - didn't really care they made people wait 2+ hours. Also, didn't appear to honor appointments, and it DOES appear they cherry-picked by need - I arrived early for my appointment, waited two hours, and the entire waiting room had turned over, including other people who arrived AFTER me and were GONE before they even called me up for paperwork check-in. First, I like the location of the lab in that it is within walking distance of a major public transit hub like the Ballston Metro station so there are many ways to get there and leave. Parking is available for a fee and I did not see any options to validate. Note the lab is located in the southern most portion of the building on the first floor near the door but the writing on the door is translucent so one needs to look at this head on and close to recognize it. Second, there are some things can be further enhanced. I experienced a two hour wait without an appointment so I also recommend making an appointment. I witnessed cherry picking in that others who arrived after me without an appointment did go ahead of me. Two easy enhancements that I would recommend: A. Repair the water dispenser as two hours is a long time to wait without needing a biological break; B. Repair the cylinder on the lock box so that visitors can secure their items when giving a sample of bodily fluids. Presently, the key cannot be removed from the lock in the lock position. If the management can fix these three issues, I think this place could easily be upgraded to more stars. I recommend bringing some reading material and a disposable water bottle until the the wait times, dispenser, and locker situation are repaired. These are very easy things for the management to fix. Note there is a posted policy prohibiting cell phones in the waiting area as well as having small children in the donor area or leaving them unattended in the waiting area. read more

They did not have the needed supplies nor technicians with the requisite skills, and sadly they did not seemed the least bit concerned. Admittedly, I am what is known as a "tough stick" but when I drove straight to VHC after the third failed visit (and 7th, 8th, 9th attempt), the hospital lab technician found my vein and drew blood successfully on the first try. read more

This year's visit to LabCorp for my biometric screening did not suck. Yay for me! I arrived at 7:50am, fourth person in line. The "receptionist" was friendly and full of smiles. When my name was called to do my screening, I noticed the lab tech and the receptionist were the same person. I said, "Hey, you're by yourself today?" She says, yes. My next thought was, I hope that smile stays on her face. There's a waiting room full of people and it's just her. She was professional and quick with my screening. She did my weight, height, blood pressure, measured my waist, took a vial of blood to test my glucose level, and I think that was it. Now, I wait for the email results saying I'm fat and need to lose weight. I was in my car by 8:33am. Last year, I had an appointment and I was there for over an hour and several lab techs were working. This year, no appointment, one lab tech, in and out in 30 minutes. I shall be thankful. I was amazed and impressed by how smoothly LabCorp in Arlington, VA has handled the current challenges. Vanessa and Latisha were kind, professional, and extremely efficient. I checked in using the Express Check-in keypads -- that worked perfectly. Even without an appointment, and on a busy day for this facility, I was able to get in and out in scarely more than 30 minutes. I'm surprised that the average ratings are pretty low for this LabCorp facility -- they certainly deserve 5 stars as far as I'm concerned and based on my experience yesterday. read more

Went there for an employment drug screening. Not only was it not clear that my check in process was different, the lady that took me in was rude and condescending. I felt like I was in a prison. I was extremely disappointed by the treatment and will not recommend going there. They are rude and disrespectful. Also I was left to wait in a room with at least 20 others, so had to stand and wait. I came to this location because it was combiner to where I was going. Sign at window said sign in but there wasn't a sign in sheet or anyone there. After waiting awhile I turned around and saw the express check in stations. By then I had to wait in a cue. The express station rejected my check in and told me to go to the window, still no one there. Finally knocked on window and someone looked around the corner and asked me to wait. After waiting a good five minutes again I finally left in frustration. Had to pay $8 to get out of the parking garage without even seeing anyone much less getting my lab work done!
