I feel I need to voice a compliment: ...the fact that your company (LaBella's) has been the absolute best pool cleaning company I have been pleased to work/interact with. Please forward this compliment to proper management / ownership. I personally endured intense homophobic discrimination and extreme inappropriate treatment & harassment at the hand of our previous "Pool Doctors" techs. In this day and age ( & especially here on the west coast) I didn't think that this type of inappropriate treatment of customers by Vendors was still so prominent. I thought our general society had moved beyond that type of thing. I was obviously naive. I have found that each and every employee I have interacted with at LaBella's Pool Service, so far, to be completely polite, professional, honest, transparent, and has demonstrated a genuine interest in "us", the customer; "What's the best short or long-term, solution for whatever problem/challenge we are facing?" All interactions I have had with LaBella's, have not had even a hint of any discriminatory behavior or inappropriate treatment of any kind from any of your employees. I sincerely appreciate this. I used this pool service since 2018, however, they change it the service since this May. There is only a letter to inform me, and I missed it. They stopped the service. And, I called it back, they change the price from $65 to about $135 (new service), so, I want to make a new quote. And, these pool service also mention they short of staffs. As a Community Manager we rely on our pool vendors to make sure that our Ph and chlorine levels are appropriate weekly. We would like to trust that they would update our daily pool/spa maintenance records as required and to effectively communicate with their customers. Lastly we would like to know that the company of whom we do business with operates with operational excellence and demonstrates strong ethics and integrity. It's very disheartening that we have to share that LaBella's Pool Service failed to deliver a type of service that is satisfying and one that would have made us happy. 1. To all LaBella's Pool Service customers, please be sure to double check your invoices as they will add little miscellaneous charges to your invoices that does apply to the service(s) they were hired to provide. If you do not challenge the charges, they will become reoccurring on your invoices. 2. They are not consistent with the prices that they charge for chemicals. For instance one month your chlorine charge may be one price and the next month the price changes. Please be very attentive to your invoices. 3. When their technicians comes out, they do not always check your chemical levels. As a result our pool was SHUT DOWN by the City Health Inspectors due to inappropriate pools Ph levels and chlorine levels. What's interesting is that they serviced our pool on a Tuesday and we were inspected the very next day. Our pool does not get much activity during the week as we are a senior community. It's very embarrassing to have bright orange signs on your pool gate that says Pool Is Closed. 4. They are immensely awful with effective communication. Community Managers please be very careful with this company as it may be a good idea to keep track of what takes place when they service your pool/spa should you decide to take a chance and hire them. For example we had a management change at our community and the previous manager provided all chemicals for the pool as they were much cheaper. LaBellas was aware of this. When the chemicals ran out, instead of informing the Community Manager to order more supplies, they took upon themselves to use there own chemicals and applied the charges to our monthly invoice and their prices where very expensive . Had we not paid attention to our invoices they would have continued to charge us. Overall LaBellas Pool Sevice is a company that does not practice integrity and good ethics and they do not operate with operational excellence. They will get over on you if you do not double check your invoices. The one thing that we regret is that we didn't catch their unethical ways of doing business until after we served them with a notice to terminate their services. We are very disappointed with this company and we hope that those of you looking for a pool vendor to PLEASE be very careful and skeptical with this company. read more

Our pool is 30 years old, and it had the original gas heater, pool filter and pump. We never used the heater, too much energy, and the old pump was not energy-efficient, so it was time to update everything. LaBella's is our regular pool maintenance service, and we found their quote for a new pump and filter to be competitive with other companies. Paul and Marc showed up on time, and got the work done very quickly and professionally. They removed our old heater and repositioned the new filter in it's place to be more effective. Interesting to watch Paul scuba to replace the drain cover for a safer one. They were friendly and took the time to explain everything and answer questions. Good job, and our pool is now much quieter and uses only a third of the energy it did before! read more

My family and I are truly grateful to Labella Pool Service. Paul and Mark came out and fixed our pool heater which needed a new igniter. These guys are so knowledgeable and kind and we could never thank them enough for taking care of us and just for their honesty and professionalism. Prior to Paul & Mark coming out we had another company mislead us by trying to get us to buy a new pool heater by telling us no one in the area would know how to service our heater which is an Energyrite Lochinvar. This caused us to put it off and wait because pool heaters aren't cheap. Nevertheless Paul & Mark were able to help us and they even spent additional time teaching us how to properly work the heater. I also want to say Stacey is great too I love calling and speaking to her whenever I'm taking care of our bill or have a question she's always so sweet and happy to help with any concerns. It remains a challenge to find reputable companies today, but we absolutely love this family owned company and we're customers for life. read more

Our pool is about 4 years old and after about a year of service with LaBella, our pool has never looked worse. I had to make phone calls regarding chlorine being added, multiple bottles at a time, although we have a salt water pool and requested only salt be added. I do understand chlorine needs to be added during the winter months when it's not warm enough, this was spring when the water was warm enough. I also had to call because the pool was cloudy for weeks on end and eventually grew green algae along all of the sides of the pool, the spa, the tile and all light fixtures. I wanted to give them another chance to correct it and get our pool back on track, but unfortunately it didn't happen. I arranged for today to be our last day of service and I specifically mentioned the green algae which needed to be brushed really well since I don't know if it's ever been done or done correctly, he just left and it still looks terrible. The bottom has zig zag streaks where he got areas of brushing and the spa doesn't look like it was brushed at all, completely green along all walls, benches and bottom. When you hire a monthly service to do a job, they should do it correctly and without having to be managed to do it correctly. The only reason I'm giving them 2 stars instead of 1 is because I believe they did come every week as they were scheduled and Stacy who answers the phone has been very nice and professional. If you're looking for a reliable pool service to do a good job consistently, I suggest you look elsewhere. read more

I am writing based on 5 weeks of weekly pool service. I am a new pool owner, and as a recent home buyer who has just moved across the country, I have not had much time to learn the ins and outs of owning and caring for a pool. As such, I hired LaBella to help me clean and manage my pool. For five weeks, they came once a week to clean my pool, balance the chemicals, and make sure everything was running well. I noticed after the first visit the pool was significantly cleaner, and stayed clean for much of the next month. I did not spend much time outside during that time, and unfortunately for me, did not notice a humming noise that was new following their first visit. The weekly pool visits were actually somewhat underwhelming, with the leaves and other debris at the bottom of the pool not getting adequately cleaned to the point where once they had to send their guy back out to clean. The top of the pool on the other hand, remained very clean...for a reason I will describe next. I got my first energy bill following beginning service with LaBella, and the bill jumped from 120 dollars to over 600 dollars. After calling PG and E, they asked me to go check my pool pump, and when I did I found that it was humming away! It's no wonder the top of the pool was so clean...with debris at the bottom I wonder if the service guy had been doing any cleaning at all, or if he was just letting the 24/7 pump do the trick. It turns out my timer was broken. But what I don't understand, and what was never explained to me, was how they could come 5 separate times and NOT TELL ME my timer was broken, and NOT TELL ME they had turned on my pump to run it perpetuity. Seeing as the timer was set for 11pm, there is no way this could have been an oversight. Following this discovery, I emailed Marc, one of the owners, who to his credit, quickly investigated the situation and let me know my timer was broken. He quickly provided me with an invoice to submit to PG and E in hopes of getting a partial credit to my gargantuan bill as part of a "non-beneficial use" adjustment. Given his responsiveness with this error and their glowing reviews on yelp, I felt compelled to give them another chance. Then he let me know what they would charge me to replace the timer, overcharging for both the hardware, and also for the labor (the new pool service I have hired is installing the new timer for free). This timer replacement quote was the last straw, and at that point I found a new pool servicing company. All I got out of my five weeks with LaBella was a massive energy bill (with an associated headache of trying to get it credited back), and a cleanish pool (most likely due to the 24/7 pump that THEY turned on, and not due to actual cleaning). However I will give them 2 stars because Marc was very responsive to my concerns. That said, they did not do the correct thing from a customer service perspective (or ever apologize for the pump fiasco in the first place, which was clearly something they should have picked up on by week 2 at the latest). While I have a short time frame to evaluate them on, I can't recommend them for pool service. read more

We agreed for them to clean my 2 lap pool and they started water pressuring an area and decided to not finish due to laziness and dishonest workmanship, later got a bill for $800 dollars, I decided to not pay them, took photo's and it took me 1 year to at least be humble and negotiated the fee to $650.00 which is still a rip off. read more

They were able to not only secure the part for us, but they met my husband at a halfway point so that we did not have to drive all the way to Hayward. I recently had a perplexing pool repair issue. I called several pool repair companies in the area, but many, either never returned my calls or would take a few days to get back to me. I'm an experienced pool owner. When I called La Bella's Pool, I immediately talked to a real human being, which was very calming. I explained my situation and she said that someone would call me first thing the next morning to schedule an appointment. The next morning (@ 7:30 am no less) Paul (repair Supervisor, I think) called me to schedule a site visit the next day or so. Another technician came out at the appointed day and time and said my filter cartridge was upside down, which was causing the low water pressure going in/out of my pool. I was a bit skeptical of this diagnosis, knowing that the filter had been upside down for over one year. The next day, the pressure was back down to almost nothing again. I called La Bella's back and and they easily agreed to come back out. They said they could be out in 3-4 days and I explained that my pool water was in dire straits and if they could come out earlier. They were very accommodating and came out the next day. Paul himself came out to investigate. He finally diagnosed that the cartridge filter was blocked extensively with algae and other foreign matter after fie years. Paul recommended a couple of online places to get a new cartridge, but since I was hobbling with torn ligaments in my foot, I kindly explained that I felt more comfortable if he could order and have it sent to me. I really didn't want to accidentally order the wrong size. Paul said no problem. Two business days later he called me and said the filter was in. He offered to come over and install the filter for me. I didn't even ask him to. Talk about service with a smile! The new filter did the trick in fixing my low water pressure coming in and out of the pool. He also recommended that I switch to liquid chlorine during the summer months. After a couple of weeks, my pool has never looked better. I found my experience with La Bella pools to be positive and satisfying with my issue. I have no hesitations about calling them again with any pool issue in the future. I heartily recommend any pool owner to use La Bella's. read more

Just a great company! Have used them since we bought the home with pool about 25 years ago. In the time they had to completely refinish the pool and install all new equipment. Whether large jobs like these or simply sending someone out every year to clean the filters and get things ready for the new season, LaBella's is top notch. I used Labella's for 2-3 years up until moving. They run a tight ship and I grew to expect very reliable service. I travel for work and had no concerns when away. If something broke, their techs were quick to report and estimates and repairs were equally expeditious. I did some repairs myself as able (to save $) but their estimates were fast and free regardless of my commitment to contract subsequent repairs. The pool stayed clean and they spend the extra time needed during the Fall to get the leaves out and keep it clean. This is a good company that runs an honest operation and for the $ it is a good value. Contract with confidence- highly recommended. read more

We had a bunch of electrical problems with our pool lights and the wiring/conduit that went from our equipment to the pool and had a different company initially come out to fix it. Long story short, they made a horrible mess of it and we called labellas to help fix it. They were incredible! They squeezed us in to their busy schedule, did a great job and corrected a huge mess left by the other company and fixed our initial problem, and we couldn't be happier with their professionalism, cost, and quality of work. LaBella's pool service was good for a time, then the service fell off. They changed our normal service person to a new guy and our pool shortly went from clean to GREEN. I got several excuses; 1. The service person remarked it had been raining a lot 2. The chemicals I buy are not as strong as their's 3. They said my pool pump wasn't running enough and that someone had turned it off (untrue} I called the office to complain and generally the ladies are there are very cordial. However after a few conversations I had to let them go because they wanted to charge me more money for their chemicals and a service fee for the extra work for the service guy. Note: This reminds me of a movie I once saw. A window company in a town gets a kid to go around breaking windows in the community then the person with a broken window has to call the window company for repairs. Any how, I believe LaBella Pools could do better if they communicated better. I saw in another post the service persons didn't communicate and service went down hill as well. Absolutely disgusting treatment from office manager and technicians. The first inkling of the charges involved was after I received an invoice in the mail. No one, not the office manager nor the technicians, informed me of the charges, either before or after the work was done. I explained this to the office person. She said they were valid charges per the owner. You cannot have a valid contract without an agreement in advance as to the charges. They seem to think that their customers should accept any charge that they expect without any prior explanation. For their customers to not be told in advance what the range of charges will be is theft. The owner of Labella's Pool left a reply to my review. I want to respond to his comments. I understand your comments about my review. I'm sorry that I couldn't have been more positive. When I called you for service I had hoped I had found a reputable company that I could use on a continuing basis for my pool repair needs. When I called to make an appoint your office manager did not quote any charges or explain what the minimum charge would be. When your technicians arrived no charges where quoted. They were fantastic and solved my issue within seconds. When they were leaving once again no information about charges were given to me and no invoice was presented. I gave them $40 for their time and expertise. I appreciated their help. The first knowledge of your minimum charges was when I received an invoice in the mail. That is too late. Charges should be clear and up front long before payment is expected. If I had been told of your $100 minimum charge I may have made a different purchasing choice. I am sorry your office manager thought I was ranting and raving and that I didn't get to speak to you. I would still like to give you my future business. Your technicians were great but you have to be up front about your charges. I never expected you to come out for free. My pool equipment is running great thanks to your technicians. This company is great! I first worked with them because I was going on vacation and needed someone to maintain my pool. They did great, seamless, and I thought about my 25 year old system that needed refreshing. Thought about Leslie Pool, but wanted a local company to have a chance. So glad I did! After discussions about what I thought I needed, input of the newest regulations, what a buyer of our house would expect, etc, we came up with a plan. These guys were not interested in how much they could charge me, but what would be best for me. After 2 days of work, their attention to detail fixed all the silly little problems along with the big problems. Five stars plus! read more

I have worked with Stracy and La Bellas pool service for some time. I have always informed them and communicated our concerns with their staff. As of late they have been non-responsive, disrespectful and rude. Constantly sending service people that have little or no training. I feel I am being charged extra to train their staff of cleaning pools and filters. All of my complaints file with Stacey result in no change in service or improvements. In my last conversation with Stacey, she was rude and would not listen to our concerns and provide poor customer service. I have ended my service with La Bellas Pool Service. read more

I called to make a appointment to start servicing my pool. They said they would be out on Tuesday, no show. Got a email saying it would be Wednesday, I replied for time of day, no reply. I called at 4:00 the next day and the lady said that he or she should have been here. Got a message from the office saying that they had a "emergency ".
