Went here last night with a few of my coworkers. two of us, myself included, have Celiac so we are really obnoxious about asking questions for our safety. The staff, Jordan in particular, were so patient with us and understanding and checked on the specials as well as were extremely knowledgeable about what can and cant be made gluten free. Cute atmosphere.I called ahead for a reservation for my boyfriends birthday and it didn't matter much. I was disappointed with the experience. I called ahead for a reservation and she asked me questions like what's your boyfriends name and what dessert does he want. I told them the information and she reassured me several times that they would bring the dessert out right after dinner and not bring a dessert menu. They said they would light a sugar cube on fire instead of a candle which I thought was cute. I was excited to go because we've never been there and we love tapas. We arrive and they put us in a corner- super tight and uncomfortable. Our server Max was nice and there was Reggie who did a great job at keeping our waters filled! The bacon wrapped dates were good but there was no goat cheese inside which I think would've made it better. The seared scallops were delicious but the other food was meh. Fish tacos were good but not outstanding and the Brie was meh. The fresh baked focaccia bread was nice but very thick and heavy. The chicken diggies were interesting and super strong (garlic and flavor) and I like that they shredded the chicken. The sauce was house made and something to remember- just difficult to eat the whole thing even when sharing (it was extremely heavy). I liked my copper cuse drink but my boyfriends Kentucky sidecar was just ok. I did appreciate the cucumber infused water. I was really annoyed with the fact that they continued to ask who's birthday it was even though his name was written down and I called ahead. Also they did NOT bring out dessert as requested and brought us both out menus for dessert. I was frustrated and handed them back to her asking her to speak to someone as I called ahead. We waited an awful long time before they brought out the dessert without the sugar cube on fire then when it got to the table- realized it and ran the dessert back to have the sugar cube lit. It was not a smooth experience and I wondered why I even bothered to call ahead. My boyfriend was happy that we went to eat together and had a good time but the food was just meh and we both agreed we will not return. The parking was ok and we were welcomed when we walked in but the communication isn't there and it was not comfortable to sit crammed in a corner (most of the seating is very tight as it is an old house). They could do such a better job at making the experience comfortable and cool that they really missed the mark and I hope they improve. It could be a neat fun place someday. read more

I highly recommend making reservations. They have both indoor and outdoor dining. What I liked most about this restaurant was its location inside a Victorian home. The building's architecture and layout is maintained so it still looks like a home inside. You enter the foyer where there is a staircase (I don't know if there is dining space upstairs as well). To the right is the "living" room where the a fireplace still stands. The interior is dim/moody with some fake candles to set the mood. Tables are prepared with cucumber water & a free appetizer of pretzel sticks and celery sticks in Laci's Lucious sauce dip. My BF described the dip as garlicky thousand island. It's very yummy and is currently sold at Wegman's as well as at this restaurant (in a jar). I was confused when I 1st saw the appetizer already sitting on our table because I wasn't sure if it was for us or if it was remains of diners before us. I also didn't like that it had been sitting there a while (making the pretzel sticks a little soggy). The sauce was great & is featured on several of the "tapas" dishes. As other reviewers have mentioned, these aren't traditional Spanish tapas. This place is called a tapas bar because their food items are "smaller." To me, they are still pretty large (much larger than a standard tapas serving). Their dishes include a variety of cuisines including sliders, flatbreads, soups and non-Spanish desserts (like vanilla cake with lemon curd, cream puff, etc.). My favorite thing about this place is the fact that they offer daily specials. I love when restaurants get creative and offer something new, a special treat for frequent customers. I am a sucker for seasonal menu items or dishes that reflect what is locally abundant during that time. I got their daily special yesterday: flatiron steak with potatoes, on some raspberry jam, with fried jalapeno. It was garnished with a sprig of lavender. I thought that was a pretty touch but it was random because there was nothing in the dish with lavender. The jam was too sweet and seemed to be untouched (they didn't reduce it, or change it in anyway, mix it with meat jus- it just seemed like straight jam spread thin on the bottom of the plate). I like a salty and sweet balance but I thought the jam was too sweet. I liked the fried jalapeno. One thing I dislike about real Spanish food is that it is never spicy so I really liked that this dish offered that kick I crave. I also tried the Lucious Pig flatbread, as other Yelpers recommended. I liked the Lucious sauce on top and the creative flavors but it was texturally mushy/too rich. There was ground pork that tasted like wonton filling (had some kind of Asian flare to it), with melted cheese on top, parsley (that was also baked) and then topped with tons of that Lucious sauce. It was all a bit too much for me. I would have liked to have something fresh on top or something with a different texture. The middle parts of the flatbread were just mushy. This was my BF's favorite dish however. We also tried the Spanish sliders. There are a total of 3 sliders for $12. I am unsure what makes it Spanish. The buns look like Hawaiian rolls and the bottom is slathered with an aioli or mayo mix (a lot of it). It gushed out as I was eating it. I did like that the meat was cooked medium and that there was fresh bell pepper on top (nice to have something fresh with different texture!). There were also caramelized onions inside. We also tried the beef Wellington. I liked the puff pastry and the flavor of it. It was stuffed with mashed potatoes, beef and some horseradish. I love horseradish in anything so this dish was my favorite. It was the same quantity and price as the sliders and it was also topped with the Lucious Sauce. For dessert we tried the cream puff with cream inside, topped with caramel and almonds for $6. It was served with a side of whipped cream but would have been better with some vanilla ice cream to balance the temperature and sweetness of the cream puff. I thought there was too much caramel and the custard gushed out and mixed with the whipped cream making it one big messy blob. My BF loved it. I thought it was just alright. Our waitress recommended at least 2 orders per person so we ordered 4 total and had leftovers. We were full after the first 2 dishes came out. I think it would have been better if we had ordered more vegetable dishes rather than so many meat ones. I would recommend 3 dishes for 2 people (unless you have a larger appetite). Service: everyone was attentive and friendly. We got asked over 8 times by 6 or more different people throughout the meal. Our water got filled about 5-6 times. This is a pro if you love getting waited on every few minutes but a con if you enjoy eating your meal uninterrupted. OK, so, I haven't actually been to Laci's yet...but I was able to try their Guava Mango cheesecake. And it was awesome. Guava mousse on top, mango cheesecake and then a cookie crust = subtle sweetness and a lot of fruity flavor. So good! Looking forward to an actual meal at Laci's next time I'm upstate. I had the most enjoyable first experience at Laci's last week, and I will definitely be going back! They have daily drink specials (we went on margarita night, yum!) and I ordered a blueberry pomegranate margarita. It was absolutely delicious. My group also ordered three small plates to share between the four of us, and everything we ordered was absolutely delectable (bacon wrapped dates, flatbread pizza, and a charcuterie plate). On a whim went to have dinner for the first time here. Our son has been 4 doors down from this gorgeous home converted to Tapas Bar. My hubby and I got a table in back dining room. Noise level pretty high. Nice lively crowd. We were greeted promptly by our server and given cutlery and water and wine and food menus. Our server brought us samples of 3 different wines and I found a lovely Riesling which we both chse to have a glass each. It was fruity and smooth. We chose 2 plates from meat choices and 2 from vegetarian choices. The pork belly was our first choice favorite. Next was the parsnip gnocchi. 3rd was the other pork dish. Last and least liked was the ravioli. The tomatoes on top were flavorless as was the cheese filling. Needed more flavor. We ended our meals with one each of dessert and hubby got french press coffee. The creme Brulee crepe was lovely. Didn't really like the peanut butter surprise. It wasn't creamy, kind of dry. Overall we'd definitely go again. Do highly recommend making reservations. Note they do take credit cards but charge a nominal $3.25 fee to defray the cost. read more

Being my first tapa's experience, I was worried I'd be hungry after eating just "snacks" for dinner. Thankfully, due to going with a large party, I was not. Sharing your dishes is part of the experience. I was very grateful for this, since I ordered what appeared to me to be the worst 2 things they must make. First I ordered the petite filet w/bacon butter. This is described as "grilled petite filet w/bacon wrapped - (new line) - green beans and bacon butter." My brain saw petite and bacon wrapped on one line and imagined bacon wrapped meat. What a great idea! But, No. It's a chunk of meat. Not much flavor, and one piece of bacon wrapped around your 4 green beans that come on the side. Whatever bacon butter is supposed to taste like is still a mystery to me, since that was not a detectable flavor. Disappointing. I was hopeful that my next plate, the Mac and cheese egg rolls would be amazing. They were, as another review described, "plain as day". The sauce that they came with was not great and didn't feel right for Mac and cheese. The egg rolls needed flavor, better cheese, some salt and pepper? Anything! No one at the table was excited over them. Also, no salt and pepper is provided on the table either, which I find a little presumptuous. Saving grace, I also ordered the peanut butter surprise. That was the clear winner. It was divine!! I am also thankful for my table mates who ordered better choices, or I would have been very disappointed that 2 tapas plates, a dessert and drink cost me $50 and left me mostly disappointed. From my friends better menu choices, I can tell you that the bacon wrapped dates were awesome. The Beef Wellington was tasty, although slightly on the dry side. And the Lucious Pig was good. My biggest piece of advice would be to go with good sharing friends so you definitely find some things you like!! read more

The Great : Environment, wait service. Our server was extremely helpful. Our orders came out at a really good pace for a tapas restaurant. The entire experience was nice. It's an outstanding place to go on a date. The Good : Food. Everything we tried was really good. We particularly liked the filet and mac and cheese egg rolls. The wine flights were a nice touch as well. I didn't love the shredded beef in the wellington, but that's certainly just in comparison to the other food. The brussels sprouts were also excellent. The Okay: When we walked in, we were told that we were going to be sitting upstairs at table 21. So we walked ourselves upstairs and looked aimlessly around the room for any indication of a table number. We assumed that it was the only table without people sitting there, but it hadn't been cleared yet. It would have been nice to not have to flag someone down in a quiet restaurant to find out where we were supposed to sit. I'd also love to see some specials. Like I said, the menu was really fantastic. I think that specials are a nice touch for places that are trying to showcase the expertise and creativity of the chef. I don't care what the special is, I'd probably get it just because of how well they diversify their menu and put their own touches on the recipes. read more

We were a big group, so we ordered a number of dishes that we all shared and enjoyed them all. When the restaurant got busy, service was a little slow. Laci's is, hands down, the best restaurant in Syracuse. The food is creative, with high quality ingredients and mouthwatering plating, and the staff is friendly and hands-on in a way that I haven't seen much. Our waiter, Jordan, was as friendly and attentive as they come. On this trip (with Jared B., of course), we brought my mother, a self-professed "foodie" from across the state. We ordered the beef wellingtons Laci's Style, Laci's Chicken Riggies (with their new, amazing sauce), the bacon wrapped dates, the portabella jalapeño stack, the baked feta, the Middle Eastern plate and the Peanut Butter Surprise. The beef wellingtons are one of my favorite Laci's dishes. With fresh beef, bleu cheese and potatos in a flaky, airy puff pastry, how can you go wrong? A second favorite of mine are the bacon wrapped dates. No description needed - the name speaks for itself. Laura and Cindy, the owners of Laci's ("LA"ura+"CI"ndy - get it?), recently introduced their "Laci's Luscious" sauce, an amazingly tangy, spicy cream sauce that was on our table when we arrived, with pretzel and celery sticks for dipping. It is used in their Laci's Chicken Riggies, making them by far the best Riggies I've ever had - and I make a point to try Riggies wherever I go. NOM. The portabella jalapeño stack is definitely a new favorite. An amazing mix of flavors and textures (mushroom, cornbread, tomato, lime cream sauce). I wished we had ordered two. Between the baked feta and Middle Eastern plate, we probably could have done fine with one or the other. The feta was flavorful and aromatic - pungent, even - but a bit difficult to eat with the thin (but fresh) tortilla chips served. A thicker chip or creamier feta would make it easier. Still, delicious. The Middle Eastern plate was a great trip through the world of stuffed grape leaves, falafel and quinoa. We ended with the Peanut Butter Surprise - chocolate cake topped with made-fresh peanut butter mousse. A brilliant ending to a delicious meal. I paired my meal with one nice glass of the Argentinian Crios Cabernet Sauvignon, which was spectacularly complex. Very blueberry on the front end, with a middle of licorice and herbs, ending with a slight tingle of menthol. Delicious. Thanks, Laci's, for another great evening of Syracuse dining! read more

I came here recently for my birthday dinner. I absolutely loved the decor and atmosphere, and the service was phenomenal. However, our food was average at best. We ordered four small plates: Grilled Steak and Portabella Mushroom, Parmesan Scallops, the Luscious Pig Flatbread, and Roasted Root Vegetables. The Flatbread was a-ma-zing! It had the perfect balance of flavors and amounts of cheese, pulled pork, and the Laci's Luscious sauce. The pulled pork on it was some of the best I've ever had. However, the other three dishes were not as good. The Scallops were overcooked and overly salty, and the roasted veggies could have used some salt and some additional seasoning. The Steak and Portabella mushroom wasn't what I expected and was pretty average. I expected something more delicate and refined, but it was a big hunk of steak on a Portabella mushroom. The steak was cooked generally well, and the Portabella had a good flavor. Overall, though, it was very underwhelming. We also got the peanut butter cake for dessert, and I wasn't a fan. Although I didn't really like most of the food, I did love everything else here. They had a great wine and cocktail selection, and we came here on a Tuesday which is when they have half off bottles of wine. I also really liked our server; she was friendly, knowledgeable, and very hospitable. The decor was upscale but comfortable, and it reminded me of places I've been to in California. We will definitely be back some night after work for the flatbread and to enjoy the atmosphere over a good glass of wine. However, I doubt we'll come back again for a full dinner. read more

I've been to Laci's now more than 7 times and this is the first time I sit down and review it! I've gone through a Yelp community event, with friends, on a romantic date night, and even for a night alone at the bar to just unwind. Every single time I go whether it is at the bar or table, with a group or not, or with different servers, the experience is always enjoyable. I love their spanish sliders, bacon wrapped dates (my first time ever eating a date was here!), bacon wrapped jalapenos, beef wellingtons, and my favorite- the Luscious Pig. They change their menu seasonally and always present creative dishes that capture your curiosity and tastebuds. My favorite addition of the last few visits has been Laci's Luscious Sauce. I can pour that over anything and inhale it. They let me in on a tip: you can purchase it at the bar for $6 rather than at Wegmans for $6.99. Their drinks are always so great too. My favorite is coming here on Thursday's 2-1 Sangria night. My second favorite is their margarita (with sugar rim of course). Overall it's a little costly, but the quality and freshness of food and drinks are worth it. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the Syracuse area! read more

I came to this restaurant for dinner with a couple of friends because we wanted to try Tapas. The food was taking too long to arrive (more than 30 min waiting) and we asked the waitress why this was happening, after a little bit one of the owner of the restaurant (a woman wearing reading glasses) came to our table with a bad attitude and told us that we needed to know that her place was one of the busiest place in the area and that it was ok for the food to take that long. When she told us that she was one of the owners we were happy to see that she probably cared that our food was late but we were wrong... she didn't even apologize for the delay... It was very uncomfortable. Then our tapas started to arrive but one of them was wrong so at the end we just ate what was on the table and cancelled the rest. I don't even remember the flavor of the food so I guess it was nothing special or maybe the whole experience didn't let us enjoy. read more

Having just moved here from Boston, I was a little unsure of what to expect. But, from the second I walked in to Laci's, I knew it would be a fun experience. I love the ambiance, it's darker with nice lighting, and a very intimate but comfortable atmosphere. It's a great date night restaurant. We went with another couple and really tried a little of everything. I also did a red wine flight which I loved and then ultimately had two more glasses of one of the wines that was out of this world. My husband had a cocktail he couldn't stop raving about, a twist on a classic Manhattan I believe. Anyway, service was fantastic. Waitress, the name of which I can't remember but wish I could because she was fab - was very knowledgeable of the menu and recommended fun things to try. We ended up ordering three of the dates wrapped in bacon, which I tried to replicate at home to no avail. They are like sweet bacon candy, a must try. We had a variety of items including the beef tenderloin, shrimp and grits, a scallop item, brie puff pastry (my fave), asian steak skewers, the tomato basil ravioli and a bunch of others. The only one I was disappointed in was the short ribs and gnocchi. The meat was nice but the gnocchi tasted like overcooked potato. But everything else made up for it. I have been here a bunch of times and I recommend making a reservation. Even on a Wednesday night it was crowded. They always use fresh ingredients and very creative dishes. This is a great place to get tapas and it has many interesting creations. The egg roll mac and cheese is as odd as it sounds but tasty! The shrimp with cheese grits was a surprising twist which worked well. The dates wrapped in bacon are the perfect mix of sweet and savory. We really enjoyed the Mediterranean flatbread. They had two for one margaritas when I went on a Wednesday. For dessert I have tried the cheesecake sampler which consisted of two miniature plain cheese cakes with different toppings and a key lime cheese cake. They were pretty tasty. The menu also specifies which items are gluten-free and dairy-free which is great for those who desire those options. There are also a decent amount of vegetarian items. The staff are super friendly and both of the owners were working the nights I have been there. read more

What a great experience! Everything about this place is 5-star caliber. The service was beyond friendly...everyone went out of their way to make our experience a good one. One of the owners came over to our table. She was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. She even engaged us in a conversation about Scotch brands and how they are aged. She then went on to offer us some samples, one of which we ended up buying. The menu had just enough variety to entice us to get more, but not so much that we felt overwhelmed. I was lucky enough to have dinner here last Saturday night with my beautiful daughter Sarah and her wonderful guy Jared!! They had eaten here a few times before and could not wait to bring me for the first time. I had visited their website before we went and I was very excited to eat here. When we walked in I instantly knew that this was a restaurant I was going to enjoy very much. We were seated and our waiter, Jordan, came to greet us! What a great guy! Very funny, knew the food very well, had some wonderful recommendations and was just the right amount of attentive while we were there. I wanted to hug him by the time we left!! We ordered our drinks...Sarah and I each had a glass of red wine that we enjoyed immensely! We were enjoying a crudité that they gave us that had a new sauce they are hoping to bottle and sell. I sure hope so because we had two servings and could have just kept going...it was that delicious!!! So we ordered our Tapas plates...two each so six in total...apparently we picked the plates and the kitchen decides which order to serve them to us...which was perfect.... First we had Laci's Chicken Riggies and we asked to have the new special sauce put on them and they were just magnificent. I could have eaten a whole bowl of them all by myself. Next we had bacon wrapped dates which were a sweet/salty yumminess of which I had never had before!! I'm going to try to make these at home but I'm sure they won't be as good!! Next up was Beef Wellington and again I could have eaten the whole plate myself!! After that came the Middle Eastern plate with hummus, falafel, grape leaves with rice, roasted garlic, olives, stuffed red peppers...I"m sure I'm forgetting something else...so delicious!! After that was the portabello jalapeno stack with a delicious sauce over the top...I wish we had ordered two of those! We ended our six tapas plates with a baked feta which had calamata olives in it and that was definitely the perfect way to end. Sarah and Jared wanted dessert so they ordered the Peanut Butter Surprise which, of course, I had to try and absolutely loved!! I opted for a cup of coffee which was brought to the table in a French Press...very classy!! This meal was one of the best I have ever had in a restaurant but the highlight of my evening was when one of the Owners, Laura, came out to our table to chat with us. She knew Sarah and Jared because they had been there before so it was so fun to sit there and watch them chat like old friends. Laura and Jared took a couple minutes to pick a date for Jared to set up a YELP Event so that was fun!! Laura stopped by a few times and I can see why this place is so popular...she makes everyone feel like they are her family. Next time I'm hoping to meet Cindy, the other Owner, who I hear is also the genius in the kitchen!! Bravos to the entire staff. Alright, I have to update- though I feel badly about it. It needs to be said, and all of the more negative reviews seem to be filtered out. My initial excitement about this place has worn off, and subsequent visits have been just okay to sub par. One of the things that originally had me excited about Laci's was the fact that the owners had told us upon our initial visit that the menu would be changing (probably monthly) and I thought great- how exciting- that must mean they will be incorporating fresh, local, seasonal ingredients. Unfortunately, the menu hasn't changed much, certainly doesn't change to reflect seasonality, and (in my opinion) has changed a bit for the worse where they have made changes. It feels like there is a huge focus on food that is easily prepped ahead with just a re-heat or quick assembly required. I could forgive that if it tasted better, was creative, new or different than stuff I can either get elsewhere or make myself, but it just isn't. They still have a really cool bar vibe, so in my opinion they should either stick with that (and instead go for more bar-friendly food) or hopefully amp up the creativity and effort in the kitchen. It's a great concept, and unique for the syracuse market, so if they try, they can really make Laci's special. Don't just rest on the laurels of being the only tapas place in town though. read more

Having been to Laci's many times over the last three years (beginning with the first weeks of opening), I can say that one thing has been consistent: INCONSISTENCY. The highlights: The owners are always around, checking in on customers and making sure everyone is having a wonderful time. The drinks are fantastic and never a disappointment. The wait staff is typically great and accommodating (especially Jen). Inconsistency: The food is seasonal - so I expect the menu to change. However, staples like the Avocado Bruschetta should stay consistent. Up until June, it was a half loaf of bread with a mound of tomatoes and avocado (we ordered this every time we visit). Tonight it was 5 little toasts, a mound of tomato and a tablespoon of avocado. Unfortunately, still named avocado bruschetta on the menu and still charged $10 for some chopped tomatoes and croutons. A very HUGE disappointment and overpriced. The Grilled Butternut Squash Risotto (really delicious in the past) was flavorless and under seasoned. The Bacon Wrapped Jalapeños were inedibly spicy and still had seeds inside. Portion sizes were inconsistent and smaller than what we have experienced in the past. Everything else was just so-so and frankly disappointing. The vegetarian in our group left hungry (after spending roughly $120 for 5 people) and had to make food at home. Having celebrated many occasions at Laci's, I don't think my friends or I will be back anytime soon. read more

A Yelp event here tonight. What an excellent place. The dining room which I peeked into (we were upstairs) looked friendly and comfortable. We were greeted by the effusive and knowledgeable owner/operator, Laura, and made to feel right at home. One by one, delicious small plates were handed around the table accompanied by an excellent house red or white. The range on the menu looks really innovative and interesting and it will take a few visits to try it all but what we did have was excellent. Fresh, well seasoned and well balanced. Laura will answer any question you may have and is an excellent host. Try it. It's different and refreshing. Syracuse needs more of this kind of entrepreneurial dining. read more

Solid 4-Stars. Let me say that this is one classy place. The owners greeted each and every one of us, making us feel at home. The price is somewhat expensive but not unreasonably so for such a place, the food excellent in both presentation and taste, and the wait staff - terrific. The atmosphere was classy, intimate, and even romantic depending on your seating. Definitely a place to take a date to or celebrate an occasion. I was very tempted to rate this place 5-stars but I want to hold true to my own rating system. My recommendation: COME HERE for a TREAT. read more

Super friendly staff. Explained menu, even though we've been before. Good wine list , lots of options. The food is great. We had the bacon wrapped jalapeno, Laci's salad, riggies. All fantastic. We had to order another slider they were so good. Wrapped it up with the brownie bits with bourbon whipped cream. Very good. read more

I had been here years ago, when they first opened, but I honestly did not remember much about the place. So, coming back was like a first all over again, and I came in with two friends who also were enjoying their first experience. It was incredibly busy for a Saturday night, but we were lucky to be accommodated with three seats at the bar. We ordered several different Tapas, including Beef Wellington, Chicken Riggies, Bruschetta, Bacon-Wrapped Jalapeños, Sliders, and the Shrimp & Grits, all of which were enough to share among three fitness addicts with LARGE appetites. The first thing that came out was the Bruschetta, and it was absolutely delicious, leaving me wishing one of my friends hadn't shown so I could have the third piece. The Chicken Riggies and Shrimp & Grits came next, and the sauce for the Riggies was amazing, while the Shrimp & Grits was nice and creamy and flavorful. The Wellington and Sliders were both to die for, each cooked perfectly!! Unfortunately, the Bacon-Wrapped Jalapeños missed the mark for all of us, as they were lacking the flavor and oomph that the other selections had, which was highly disappointing since it was highly recommended by the bartender. My drink choices for the night were the Blue Mule and the Garden Path, and while I preferred the Blue Mule, the Garden Path was also delicious and very refreshing and light. All in all, it was a phenomenal experience, leaving us already planning our next visit before we left, and the owner (one of that we met) was very friendly, as was the bartender. Since the first visit, I went back last night with four other friends, only one who was with me the first night, and we had another grand experience. We added to our tastes with the Parmesan Scallops, Duck Drumettes, Lamb Meatballs, Brussels Sprouts, and Baked Sole with Crabmeat and Scallops. I didn't try the Lamb, Sole, or Duck, but I can attest that the Parmesan Scallops were amazing!!! The Brussels Sprouts were cooked perfectly, but were lacking in seasoning (salt). Everyone who had the Lamb and Duck seemed to enjoy them, along with everything else. We then shared the Molten Chocolate Cake, Lemon Tower, and the Creme Brûlée, and all of these were a hit, with some preferring the Lemon Tower, while I much preferred the Molten Chocolate Cake. Again, a fabulous experience, and the wait staff was friendly and pleasant to interact with, as before. read more

The GOOD -- nice ambiance, comfortable decor, gracious hostess, friendly and attentive services Not So Good -- the food, it's neither here nor there, stuck between wanting to be creative / innovative / cool and too much hesitation in execution. Some dishes are pretty edible, but I'd expect more from a place with such a good vibe. What I can remember: lamb chops are done right (medium-rare) if not slightly bland in seasoning, nicely baked sweet potato fried, scallops in lime-cilantro broth bordering on rubbery texture, dates wrapped in bacon tasted okay, Dessert (peanut butter mousse cake with fudge and chocolate) was quite good, moist and flavorful without overly sweet. All in all, a good place to hang out if you just want some drinks, coffee and dessert. read more

Must go to place in Syracuse. Great Sangrias, tasty tapas..and a very cool vibe. The owners are so welcoming, you feel like a regular when in reality it's your first time there. The menu offers a large variety of fusion tapas. I only wish I had 2 stomachs to enjoy more on the menu. The prices are reasonable and the portions...well remember it's a tapas place. read more

A Mainstay of Hawley-Green Neighborhood From the moment, we stepped into Laci's we knew that we had found what was going to be one of our favorite places to eat in Syracuse. The place is owned by two of the most fascinating women you are ever likely to meet. The good news is both of the prowl the floor talking to their guests and yes they work to the room like they were having a party. The waitstaff is equally friendly and apparently selected for very strong people skills. The food does not disappoint. The boneless short ribs were very good but a little too oily; the carnitas tortillas were terrific. The hit of the night was the spanish sliders - absolutely perfect. The Pow chicken was good but next time we will try something different. Cocktails, at least for us, are an important part of the meal and the bartender at Laci's does not disappoint. The Kentucky side car and Laci's black cherry mojito were great - after that the selection of bourbons and whiskeys are solid. This is not a bargain priced restaurant - expect to drop at least $50 with drinks per person. That said you get what you pay for. read more

Ate here for dinner with colleagues because we were in town for a conference and this place had a good Yelp rating. We were STARVING and ordered almost (it seemed) at least one of everything on the menu. Absolute 5 star standouts that I remember were: Brussels sprouts, roasted root veggies, sliders, Luscious Pig flatbread, middle eastern plate. There were so many others but these were our favorites. The items we had that we wished we hadn't ordered: jerk chicken, pork riblets. Everything else was phenomenal, we even had 3-4 desserts, all of which were fantastic! To top it off, it was 2 for 1 sangria! The pours are large and not too sweet, although not too potent either, so two is great. When were done, 6 of us stuffed ourselves completely for $36 each including tax and a generous tip. An incredible bargain for such high quality food! One of the owners came over to chat with us and we got into a great conversation about the work we do and she is hilarious. The staff are all wonderful and super helpful. Next time I'm in Syracuse I will eat at Laci's again! read more

I LOVE this place. Came here for a family reunion of sorts. My sister came in from Buffalo, my parents from Binghamton, and my boyfriend and I flew in from Missourians drove in from Utica. I love the idea of shareable plates because everyone can have a taste of everything. My parents are not adventurous eaters so it was nice that they could try foods that they had never had before. The food here is amazing and the wait staff is so helpful. Someone is always walking by to refill your water glass or to ask if you want a refill of your alcoholic beverage. My boyfriend and I have been here 2 times for anniversary dinners when we lived in NY and new it would be a perfect place to bring family together because it is such a cozy family atmosphere. Our waiter was amazing (sorry, I can't remember his name) and so funny! Again, love this place. You can't go wrong going to Laci's. read more

Stopped in after some Yelp research on our only day in Syracuse... Glad we did! We tried the Laci's Salad, Laci's Shrimp, Beef Wllington Laci's Style, and the Spanish Sliders.... No offense to Laci, but the Spanish Sliders were the best sliders i've ever had! Also had the Spanish Wine Sampler, Espresso, and the Peanut Butter Surprise for dessert. Overall A+ experience. Will definitely recommend and return if we're ever in the area again. read more
