I don't recommend this place. My wife had an appointment at 9am and was advised to be there 15 minutes prior to the appointment. When she arrived the office was closed and there was a sign that says they were having a team huddle. When they finally opened up at 9:02am they didn't see her until 9:12am. The dental assistant asked her a series of questions unrelated to her teeth and when she finally was seen by the dentist she was denied services because she opted out of x-rays and fluoride. What's bothersome is that when she initially made the appointment weeks ago my wife informed them over the phone that she did not want to have any x-rays done or fluoride used. Turns out they don't get reimbursed much without the x-rays and the fluoride from the insurance company. So it's not all about the patient it's all about money yet they put on a facade of trying to "connect" with you by asking you a ton of questions such as where do you live, work, how many kids do you have, what were they for Halloween, what are you cooking for Thanksgiving , etc. those are all questions that were asked. Do yourself a favor and don't go there if you're not willing to get x-rays done or fluoride. Otherwise, you'll be denied services as well. Cheers! read more

In terms of quality of their work, I don't really have any complaints. I have always had bad teeth and they patched up many a cavity for me. Their care was simply okay--nothing wrong with it, but not really anything special. My complaint comes from pricing and the staff's attitude toward the pricing. A few years ago, I needed an on-lay for a crown that was damaged. According to Dr. Ly, it was a very small hole in the crown that wasn't bad, just something to be worried about long-term. Even so, she pushed hard for the on-lay. When I asked how much it would cost, she was evasive, calling it "affordable" and "an investment." The estimate I got was over $700! Having gotten several crowns, I know what this kind of work costs. I have never paid more than $350 for an entire crown, let alone a small on-lay, even at offices where they made the crown in-house within an hour. Not everyone who drives through Ladera Ranch has $700 just lying around for a tiny chip in their tooth. I'm a high school English teacher, and $700 would cover 2 months of groceries for me. I didn't go to a dentist again for 3 years. I'm afraid of dentists anyway, and this was all I needed to avoid it altogether. Of course, having the awful teeth I have, I was eventually forced to find another dentist. I found a new place in SJC and I got my on-lay there for $250. They treat me with utmost care and gentleness there, and they are very upfront about prices. They are also explicitly dedicated to making their services affordable to the average person. $700? Please. If you're not a millionaire, look elsewhere. read more

I had high hopes for this dental office - but left VERY disappointed. The prices are so high --- I walked out of there charging $500 on my credit card! They won't submit the bill to insurance first - they make you pay what they believe won't be covered --- this doesn't even give your insurance a chance to pay for things. Also, the office smelled and looked old and dirty with strange decor on the walls. Outdated xray equipment which exposes you to unnecessary radiation. They also charge $40 for prescription toothpaste!!! This prescription online is $8-13.00. I left not trusting this practice. They are greedy and will rip you off as many ways possible while they have you there. DON'T GO HERE -- so many other better dental offices. read more

Came to Dr Mai over 6 months ago for a check up and cleaning. It was my first visit there and was very impressed how clean and nice the staff are. I'll be back soon for my 6 month cleaning. Updated : I moved a couple years back and went to a local dentist and let's just say they didn't do a good job. Consulted with Doctor Ly over the phone and she was able to see me same day. Doctor Ly completed a thorough exam and found some more issues from previous work from another dentist. Doctor Ly, Martha and Jimmy were so nice and professional. Even though I have to commute to this location I won't be going to any other Doctor's from now on. Thanks again guys! read more

Best Doctors ever, have been coming here for few years now, and every year it gets better.

You will avoid this dentist after you read this - we are considering legal action. My whole family has gone here and although they are mostly professional we had a string of fillings falling out, cavities after cleanings but nothing comes close to the bridge that was built so badly it ruined my bite. When I confronted the dentist she brushed me off and said there is nothing that can be done for me. When I went to a REAL dentist he told me that the bridge never should have been built and put in a human mouth and laughed. He completely rebuilt it and had to work extra to fix my bite. He said the quality and shape was horrendous. This dentist should stay away from any cosmetic dentistry or ortho. What a shame this dentist is not trained well. I've reviewed here before but I just wanted to do it again after finishing my 6 month invisalign treatment. This place is great. Usually you dread going to the dentist, but it's clear the people here know that and do their best to make it the best experience possible. I've never had any issues with my treatment, issues with scheduling, or pain during visits. They have comfort menus, raffles, and customer appreciation days which makes you love the place so much more. Just now, I got a little to go gift and some celebratory claps when I left with my final retainers. Little things like that, things they didn't have to do but did anyways, makes this the best dentistry in California in my opinion. read more
