This is specifically for the Too Good To Go sandwich order which I got 3! I don't see the sandwich option often or it is gone very fast. I got 3 sandwiches for a great price and the portions are decent for a lunch. The pick up was fast and the order was ready to go. The staff was nice as well.

It's open, here's my soup to prove it.

I LOVE SOUP. Seriously, I'm a soup fan and could have it any day, including warm days. Ladle & Leaf is the re-boot of the Soup Company. They have changed up their interior and added menu items, but still offer some of their tried and true soup options. I love the corn chowder, Manhattan clam chowder, lentil, Smokey split pea, chicken tikka masala and the grilled chicken with Swiss chard soup. I usually get a regular size without bread and add on a half sammie. For my sandwich selections, I am a sucker for their tuna and get that most often - but will switch up with a turkey avocado or egg salad sometimes. I signed up on the app "Thanx", which gives you points for every dollar spent towards credit for more soup! I've already received 2 free soups and love the rewards program. Great place for an inexpensive lunch under $10 with lots of options. Get your SOUP ON!

Been a while since I've been over to the Oakland City Center. I was looking for a decent soup n salad place. Remembered there was a San Francisco Soup Co. Walked over n found Ladle & Leaf now occupies the space. They are on the Clay Street side of the Center across from the Federal bldg. The menu of salads n soup looked good. I liked the fact the allow you to make your own salad. Make my own is what I did. Chose my base..spring mix with 4 toppings (edamame, cucumbers, rossted mushrooms n olive tepenade and my salad dressing of choice was miso sesame vinsgrette. Delicious n fresh! I also wanted a bowl of turkey chili...loved it I will definitely return.

Best salad I've had in a really really long time. The options are endless here. Say good bye to lettuce and dressing. These are top notch gourmet salads. Once you try one you'll want to try more or create your own which I haven't done yet but I have tried the chicken chipotle and most recently tried their pomegranate hummus bowl. Was a little nervous with how much they piled on but omg it was amazing. The flavors together work so well I crave this salad now! This place is a must hands down. They are packed around lunch time but the line moves fairly quick.

Brussel Sprout Salad. They didn't add my Chicken.

I work across the street from Ladle Leaf.. the food had been good. I've tried the Chicken Tortilla Soup, Tomato Soup, pesto Turkey sandwich (the ciabatta bread was hard) , A Caesar Salad, The Brussel Sprout Salad. The last time I visited 4/6/23 I ordered the Brussel Sprout Caesar Salad I asked for the lady to hold the avocado and ask for chicken on top... They charged me $3 for the chicken (no problem) as chicken was not apart of the salad. I get back to my desk and there was NO CHICKEN!!! Although I was charged for it! They usually don't give you a receipt unless you ask for it. I sometimes request a Receipt. This time I was in a rush so I did not get one.. By the time I realized their mistake Ladle Leaf had already closed for the day. Being 6 months pregnant with Twins I was highly upset because I had mouth fixed on some that particular salad with CHICKEN!!! Going forward I'll just be checking my order before I leave the store!

This use to be my favorite salad place but they're not the same after reopening! dirty Kale!

    Always so busy!

I liked coming here more when it was SF Soup Company. I feel like now that they have a salad line AND a soup line, they are operating in a constant overly rushed state. Everyone who goes to City Center during lunch hour knows there'll be a short wait, but the staff here rush you through as though they've never seen a lunch rush...EVERY TIME! You can't even ask for extra cheese, once you've placed your initial order, they push you through the line. I'm not feelin' it. I just wish they would sloooooow dooooown.

    The store hours are there.

Soups are pretty good when you order through joyrun and get them cheaper, otherwise the regular price is kind of overpriced for what it is.

The Mexican Chicken Tortilla is not good. Lacked flavor, spice, and aesthetic appeal. Do not order if you prefer something fresh and spicy.

I came here on a really rainy day and this was the perfect place for warm, hearty soup. My boyfriend and I ordered the beef short rib soup and the garlic pork wraps. The portions were massive! We were basically able to make this 2.5 meals and we're both pretty big eaters. The soup was so flavorful despite being light, and the short ribs had a good chew without being too stringy. The garlic pork wraps were also delicious. I ended up ordering the soup again a few days later when I had a stomachache! I'll definitely be back here sometime in the near future.

The noodles are the highlight for me. They're bouncy and have a nice texture. The bowl is packed with flavor. The Karaage was good, crispy, absorbed the sauce well, there were also pieces of soft eggplant as well. I would go lighter on the sauce or have the excess on the side. The sauce became overpowering the more chicken I ate. I think the Houston location had better service. This location felt cramped, loud and cold. There is only street parking at this location, there is Fentons a few doors down but there's more parking in the surrounding neighborhoods. With my luck, my car would smell like hello kitty for weeks. Anyhow, I found Mẹ Và Con on yelp, a mother-daughter owned resto that opened in 2024. They serve bánh khọt and have outdoor seating so we headed over. Thankfully, we arrived before the Sunday dinner rush (~5:45 pm) and before the parking lot was filled. Rezzies are accepted (via phone). M E N U Viet Cuisine with some elevated, modern twists (no specific regional specialty). Smaller menu than your typical hole-in-the-wall with 25-30 items including AZN fusion items like shrimp ceviche, kimchi pasta and tom yum pasta. Beer, wine, and soju cocktails available. F O O D * Bò Tái Chanh: Beef Carpaccio w/ Thai basil, fried shallot, house tangerine sauce ($18): https://tinyurl.com/nhcn9kxw - Served at dinner only Fresh, tender slices of beef carpaccio with a sweetness from the tangerine sauce and white onions. I appreciate their twist (tangerine sauce instead of nước chấm) but it was too one note for me...IMO, it needed acid and herbs. Plus, I miss the texture of peanuts. * Bánh Khọt: Viet Mini Pancakes w/ shrimp, coconut milk batter, herbs, pickles ($24): https://tinyurl.com/34nx7sat - Served at dinner only Fav dish of the night, the savory bánh khọt was delicately crispy and slightly custardy in the center with a snappy shrimp drizzled with fragrant scallion oil. It came with romaine, mint, and perilla leaves neatly layered for easy wrapping. The lettuce was a bit soft and soggy tho, and I think they forgot the pickled veggies. Served with a tiny portion of tangy sweet nước chấm. * Bò Lúc Lắc: Shaking Beef w/ soy, garlic, onion, cherry tomato, arugula ($26): https://tinyurl.com/3rkpukct Meltingly tender cubes of filet mignon but light on the seasoning and aromatics so it was bland. Also, was hoping for more smoky wok hei flavor. * Thịt Kho Tàu: Braised Pork Belly w/ hard boiled eggs, rice ($21): https://tinyurl.com/mr2evryw - Includes bowl of rice A traditional dish served during Lunar New Year, it symbolizes prosperity, warmth, and stability. Chunks of pork belly are caramelized in sugar and braised in coconut soda and fish sauce - rich, savory with a good ratio of lean meat to fat (4 pieces). Wish they used more braising liquid when warming up, as some pieces were a bit dry. S E R V I C E Warm, friendly hospitality. Food does take awhile tho...our first dish took about 30 minutes to arrive. A M B I A N C E Casual, no-frills indoor area with about 10-12 tables. Movie posters are splattered on the walls decorated with vinyl records and the like. Overall, such a cute hole in the wall late night spot. For the record, I eat mostly pescatarian/vegetarian diet. So their menu isn't really catered to that so much minus a couple things here and there, but I managed to order the tofu bibimbap (and a couple bottles of soju). My friend ordered french fries and spicy korean fried chicken. What was once a late-night staple has unfortunately become a fading memory. The issue with Porno…read morebar is its inconsistency. Every time I visited over the years, there seems to be an entirely new rotation of staff, yet they all share the same customer service issues. The workers look like they don't want to be there (I get it, it's work), and that disinterest shows a bit more than it should, draining the energy from the room. The food mirrors this inconsistency. We frequently stick to what we consider safe items like the porno fries, spicy fried chicken, and spicy rice cake. However, during our last visit, we decided to try the seafood pancake, the Bulgogi burger, and our usual corn cheese. Somehow, all three dishes were a disappointment. The seafood pancake was dense and doughy, while the Bulgogi burger was a bit of a soggy mess. Even the corn cheese, the coveted item that used to keep us coming back, missed the mark. It was pooling oil that left a greasy mouthfeel. While the ambiance remains nice, the kitchen simply underperforms on too many of its dishes now. With all of the new Korean restaurants and pochas popping up in the area, there are far better options available. Sadly, nostalgia isn't enough to justify coming back when the food and service continue to slip.
