Pros: Delicious paratha, paneer masala, chicken masala, chana masala, chai, and rice. Cons: I really want to give this place 5 stars, but they have to figure out how to load balance orders. I have ordered online three times. First time the order was right on time, second time it was done 15 minutes early, which meant the food was getting cold by the time I got to it at the assigned time. The next time I came 10 minutes early and my food was 25 minutes late. Lots of other people had late food coming out, and one delivery person left. I get it's busy, but it's almost time to close so I asked if we could possibly get a mango lassi for the extra 25 minutes we waited for the food. He just told me it was busy and no. I said that usually when something is this late past the estimate it would be nice if they would offer something small for the delay. Not sure how I feel. I ordered online at 11:30AM just before leaving, they suggested a 12:00PM ready time, got there at 11:40AM and my sandwich was ready at 11:48AM (while the restaurant itself only had half a dozen people eating outside, I saw some really big food delivery orders going up). TLDR: Manage you expectations on how fast your order is going to be completed... they are probably dealing with a big queue of orders. Food tastes best fresh (the chicken sandwich was crispy, juicy and BIG). So eat at the restaurant when possible... as food delivery takes a 30% cut of the order price (with restaurant margins at only like 40%... that's not leaving much). read more

Wife and I stopped here on the way back home on Saturday afternoon. Ordered 1) Chicken Haleem, a weekend special for $9.99. Served with a side of cilantro, Serrano peppers and some other unknown topping. Deliciously creamy and flavorful comfort dish. 2. Beef Chapli (kabob) $4.95. Lovely Spicy beefy taste sensation at an excellent price, and 3. ChickenTikka Marsala $10.95. Served with a lovely chick pea choli and basmati rice, the chicken was grilled to perfection and the sauce is still on my mind. My wife and I lapped this up using the perfectly cooked basmati rice to soak up the sauce. Chick pea choli side dish was fantastic. We also shared a divine mango lassi. Portions are generous and the quality uncompromising. As those of you who follow me know, I don't give five star reviews unless everything was amazing. The owner explained every dish to us and the degree of spice in each. We love spicy food so it was not a problem. The only knock I can give is atmosphere as we were seated in a parking lot under a tarp outside the restaurant due to Covid 19. Even that wasn't too bad as the weather was perfect. Might not be so nice if the wind were to pick up, though. But I really cannot fault them for that given how Covid 19 took them by surprise. Note: if not for the excellent reviews I doubt I would have stopped here as the photos and descriptions made it sound like a "Burger place" in many cases. We wanted Pakistani food and were not disappointed. BTW- the burgers also looked great ( and big) and were being gobbled up by other patrons. Nothing more need be said here. Prices are excellent. I just received the worst service from Lados. When we ordered our food via their iPad they have set up I received a text message stating food would be ready in a little over 25 mins. I was okay with this thinking 30 mins tops. 50 mins later still no food. I went up to the counter and was told we have the food ready just putting it together. As I stood there waiting for them to hand me the tray they were still missing some items I can hear one of the guys asking where's the burger for Parishma. Meaning my food was still not ready. When I received my food the dhai poori was soggy like it has been sitting there for a while. Also both of my sons burgers were not as I specifies in the instructions section. Lados is one of those places you'd never even know existed if you didn't know where to look! It's hidden away in a random residential corner of Sunnyvale--there's shaded outdoor seating right in the parking lot, and the inside of the restaurant even has an Islamic prayer room! This former food truck (turned brick-and-mortar) offers a modern twist on Pakistani-Indian food. I started with the Chapli Paratha Wrap--inside a flaky paratha flatbread came patties of ground beef, along with cheese, onions, tomatoes, lettuce, and sauce. The juicy beef patties were so tender that they fell apart, and the flavors were on point! The paratha ended up soggy from the meat juices and didn't have much of a crispy texture, but was tasty nonetheless. I also tried the fried chicken wings, which were heavily breaded and nicely seasoned on the inside. Finally, I had one of Lados' weekend specials, the haleem, a thick stew made of wheat, barley, and shredded chicken, and served with fried onions, limes, jalapenos, and cilantro on the side, which added a bright acidity. TRY THIS SPOT! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!! I've eaten way too many fried chicken sandwiches, from places all over California, in Nashville and elsewhere in the South, in Portland, and also abroad in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, and elsewhere. In general, if I'm at a spot that is even slightly known for their fried chicken, whether it be on waffles or on a sandwich or however else, that is what I'll order. Lados's fried chicken sandwich (The Zinger) is one of the best, if not the absolute best, that I've ever had! The chicken is fried to perfection, and the size of the chicken breast is enormous. This is easily enough food for two meals, but I couldn't stop halfway and ended up devouring the entire thing. It includes a melted slice of cheese plus their house sauce, which is really tasty and compliments the fried chicken well. The sandwich comes with your choice of a side of fries or salad--I went with the side salad since I had also ordered the Lados Fries separately. The side salad is really simple (no dressing) but it is fresh and tasty. Even though it didn't have extras like croutons, cheese, or dressing, somehow it was really good! For about $11 or $12, you absolutely cannot go wrong with the Zinger. The Lados Fries is also really good for the price of $3. It is sprinkled with masala and topped with their house sauce and a tamarind sauce. It's definitely worth the price as it would easily be $5 or more elsewhere. They also have a Crazy Curry Fries, which is the same as the Lados Fries but also topped with their tikka sauce and cheese. At only $5, I'll be trying those fries the next time I visit. With all that said, even their customer service somehow managed to match the high standards of everything else. I do remember seeing chai to go on the menu, but I didn't order any since I didn't think it would go well with this meal of a fried chicken sandwich and salad. However, the kind lady behind the counter offered us small cups of chai, and since we hadn't gotten water or anything else to drink, I figured why not. Just as surprising as everything else, even the chai was really good! It was so much better than the watered down chai at many other places, and it somehow went well with the salad and the fried chicken sandwich. The lady even offered us refills multiple times since the cups are small (maybe 5-6 ounces). And although they were not busy when we tried them, some of the other reviews do point out that they do get quite busy at times, and so if you're in a rush maybe call ahead and order for pickup. Overall, the meal was very reasonably valued, the quantity of food was plenty, the quality surprisingly exceeded expectations by far, and the customer experience tied everything together. Downward spiral on quality, no social distancing, in many cases people crowding the place without masks without anything being done to control potential super spreading, and lastly people being seated inside the restaurant :( This week I went twice to Lados and was disappointed both times. First time I got the Zinger and it was super salty. Second time, last nite I went back to relive the amazing experience I previously had with Andaywala Burger and ended up with an upset stomach due to raw patties that were hardly shallow fried or heated (it was pasty, cold in the center and mostly raw, see the pic) and almost no amazing sauce/chutney that made me give this place a 5* review last time around. Not to mention the place was super crowded with lots of people not wearing masks and in very close proximity to each other (I am not referring to the families that were having dinner together but people waiting for their food). People were seated inside the restaurant as well. There was one staff who did not cover this nose while serving and moved in and out of the kitchen multiple times. He also was cutting onions and tomatoes in between. I am leaving two stars, one for the core team that was working super hard and was very disciplined in wearing masks and another star for the fries that continue to be good. Not sure if yesterday was an anomaly but they seem to be getting popular but don't know how to manage the growth while maintaining tight control over quality, consistency and basic relevant decorum that are absolutely needed in these scary times. Their Zinger burger is a massive crispy, juicy, flavorful burger that tastes so different from other halal burgers I've had in the Bay. I wish it was a tad bit spicier, but honestly that's just cuz I love spice in my food. Also at a great price point, which makes this a really great option for halal chicken burgers. I'd recommend the curry fries if you're feeling extra hungry, they're definitely tasty and super filling, if not their regular fries are shmack. Interior is cute but we dined outside due to COVID. Literally every single table inside was dirty and as well as the floor of the restaurant.
