Goat Karahi,

Food, service and ambiance nothing much to say about no repeat. Inside tables are left unattended after previous customers ate

Terrible customer support, make sure you never accidentally mix up delivery and pick up on DoorDash, because they will make it extremely hard for even DoorDash Support. Accidentally placed pick-up and needed delivery so I contacted DD Support, they told me since I placed the order less than 8 minutes ago that they should be able to cancel my order so l can replace my order with a delivery as they are unable to just switch it on their end if they marked it "In Progress" already. I called them and they continuously just told me "no pick it up", or telling me to switch it to delivery myself and they won't help, "go call DoorDash". If I could switch it myself I would've already done so. And so I did call DoorDash support and they attempted to call the restaurant on my behalf and then they marked my order complete almost right away, so I was unable to refund it. Mind you, I ordered like 5 big items, it wasn't like snacks or drinks anything. And then because they did that, DoorDash support couldn't do anything for 20-30ish minutes. I was literally willing to be double charged just so I can get my items delivered and get my Pick-Up order refunded later on. I've worked in a restaurant before and am familiar with the Doordash platform they use, and they purposefully made it hard when I was literally willing to be charged again, just so they see I wasn't going to just refund my order. Internal Support for DoorDash literally had to step in. Now not only will I not be replacing my order, I got my refund and I will never be ordering from them again. I literally ordered from them countless of times, probably one of their regulars at this point. But just absolutely terrible support. I just don't understand why they were making it so hard for even DoorDash support, nothing was being lost, I even tipped them. Staff must be so miserable to intentionally make things harder for no reason. Like are they serious, right after support talks to them, they marked it complete, the order wasn't even placed 15 minutes at that point.

Decent place. We ordered veg biryani, chicken, beef and lamb kebabs and garlic naan. Food is reasonably priced. The kebabs were a bit on the dry side but I liked it enough that I ate them all. Biryani is great and so is the naan. Complimentary tea which is also great. Will be back again.

I order chicken tandoori breast almost every week.. the quality is good and the preparation consistent. The service can improve a bit. Recommend this restaurant.

I really wanted to get five stars how fast and good food on first , but what stops me while I'm eating to find hair, human hair in the food I ordered chicken masala and rice and I find the hair in the masala while I'm eating that was so disgusting it's more disgusting if I say what happened to me after and I think and what I believe the people they work in the kitchen they should put a hairnet on their head and beard net ,so the hair does not fall in the food I'll never go back

Ordered on Grubhub and they called pretty quickly to tell me they were out of the lamb wrap and offered the lamb roll and skewer instead. Also ordered tandoori chicken a la carte, chicken tikki masala, Palak Aloo (spinach and potatoes), and garlic naan. The chicken in the Tikki Masala proved too dry - even with the accompanying sauce, which was flavorful in itself. That was the biggest disappointment. The lamb skewer (granted, tasted as leftovers the following day) was also dry and crumbly. Sort of the opposite of succulent. Really liked Palak Aloo - there is a good number of cubes potatoes to contrast the creamy textured spinach. Garlic naan excellent and keeps well - just a turn in the toaster oven and it's like new. Tandoori chicken was solid - great rub and soft centers. When picking up the take out, I noticed the shop had a pretty heavy spice odor - just beware. I would definitely go back for local, well priced, Indian food.

Paper thin dry biscuit naan.

Warning! Takeout Beware! We just now picked up food from Shaan - a few curries, biryani and several naans. The naans are clearly stale!!! They were hard/brittle/dried up like old naan that is reheated. We were clearly cheated. Couldn't go back because we picked it up on our way home 30 mins away. Will never go here again. Should report them. I tried calling them but the number on the Yelp site (same as the one printed on the receipt) is a fake number. So there is no way to call them and driving 30 mins for this isn't economical with time or money.

Ordered to go but Shan's Sandeep Sing manager said you don't have to pay twice but the online order was never received he argued and demanded that I show the online order. I had to lookup the email and the signal was weak in the Shan's restaurant so I kept telling him yes the order confirmation is in my email, he said no way we never got the order you're describing, he moved to the next customer. Finally I got the signal strength and showed him how I had already paid online, he said in the rude manner: "wait I'm talking to this other customer, I know u were waiting a long time, let me see your iPhone so I can place your order now, even though u ordered almost an hour ago, u don't mind waiting 30 minutes! I almost wanted to cancel the order, but I thought I can write a review to save someone else from this disorganized unprofessional mess! On Saturday 9/26 Sandeep Sing said: "so you have to wait at least 30 minutes but customers that just walked in only 10 min wait, so lessons learned don't order to go, walk in works 3 times faster than ordering online."

We have ordered DoorDash from here a couple of times. It never disappoints. We have tried chicken biryani, tandoori chicken, mixed vegetable curry, lamb curry, and naan. Everything was delicious. Not spicy like other places so it was enjoyable. The naan gets hard if you reheat it in microwave.

Shan used to be good. I don't know what happened but the food sucks now. Kebabs are super dry. Curry has no flavor. It's seriously a bummer.

Jubba is serving up some of the best food i've ever had. As a newbie to somali food, I am now hooked. we came in on a friday around 6:15 and there was a steady group of people enjoying their food. we ordered at the counter and took a seat outside to enjoy the weather 1 Sambusa 1 chicken wrap 1 beef plate the sambusa arrived first and initially I thought Samosa in my head. But the sambusa has a better structure, holding its shape after multiple bites. the Dough is softer but still crispy. it came with beef , chilies and other vegetables. so so good. the perfect appetizer for us. it came with a spicy green sauce that seemed to be the common sauce for every dish then the stars of the show. The sizzling hot beef plate served with veggies, rice and a salad was unbelievable. add on a lemon and some more greens sauce and you're in for a treat. the rice alone was so flavorful and it tasted like there was meat drippings on top. the beef was so tender and fell apart in 1 bite. I was blown away with the dish the chicken wrap... man. I'm not sure what kind of bread, pita was used but it was fantastic. a huge wrap with lettuce, onion chicken, sauce and other veggies. It was so messy and hard to eat with your hands so we resorted to eating with a fork and knife. Unreal. Unreal. massive portions again which are a theme here. But holy smokes this was so good. The chicken has a nice char, but is also juicy and saucy. the spongy pita neutralizes the bombardment of flavor from the meat, and the veggies compliment everything with some crunch and texture. Service was great and very helpful. They were extremely friendly and a delight to talk with. We will be back 5/5

They offer a chai tea without milk, it was sweet and very flavorful. I also did takeout and ordered a goat dish with rice for my mom at home. She also enjoys eating this dish when she comes here with my brother. I would definitely come here again.

Today, I decided to order the Chicken Fajitas, and it completely exceeded my expectations. Without a doubt, it was the most delicious fajitas dish I have ever had. The chicken was perfectly seasoned, the vegetables were cooked just right, and all the flavors came together beautifully. Everything was cooked to perfection. The portion size was very generous, and the sides were fantastic. The guacamole, sour cream, Spanish rice, and black beans were all fresh, flavorful, and complemented the meal perfectly. I've always enjoyed the food here, but from now on the Chicken Fajitas will definitely be my regular order. Well-deserved 5 stars. Thank you, El Halal Amigos!

This was my very first visit to El Halal Mexican Restaurant in the heart of downtown Willow Glen,…read moreand I've been wanting to stop by for a while. I finally decided to give it a try after hearing about the restaurant from food reviewer Dave fiore text. As someone who absolutely loves tacos and is always on the hunt for great local taco spots, I was excited to see how this place compared to some of my favorites. I ordered four different tacos, and overall, they were pretty good. They weren't bad by any means, but they also didn't quite blow me away. The meat was cooked well, the tortillas were fresh, and the tacos had good flavor. The salsa was decent too, although I personally prefer something with a little more kick. Everyone has different tastes, so this is just my opinion. One thing I really appreciated was how clean and organized the restaurant was. You can tell they take pride in keeping the dining area nice and welcoming. The staff was friendly, and my food came out quickly. It's always a good sign when a restaurant pays attention to both cleanliness and customer service. I've eaten at a lot of taco places throughout the Bay Area, so I naturally compare every new place to some of my favorites. While El Halal Mexican Restaurant didn't make the top of my list, I still had a good experience and I'm glad I finally gave it a shot. Not every restaurant has to be your favorite to be worth visiting. I also like supporting family-owned businesses because I know how much hard work goes into running a local restaurant. They deserve credit for creating a clean, welcoming place and serving quality food. Will I come back? Maybe. If I do, I'd probably try something different on the menu instead of the tacos. Sometimes a restaurant's best dish isn't the first thing you order, and I'd be interested in seeing what else they have to offer. Overall, I'd give El Halal Mexican Restaurant a solid 4 out of 5 stars. It was a good experience, I'm happy I finally got to try it, and if you're in the Willow Glen area, it's worth stopping by and deciding for yourself.

It's like a cross between a western style bbq joint and a middle eastern twist with its meats and food. Turns out, this place is mainly an Afghan restaurant! I ordered their chili lamb kabob which was tender and juicy. It had lots of flavor from the spices but enough to where it wasn't overwhelming. I ordered it on top of a pillow of rice which was fluffy and buttery textured. It was delicious. There are sauce bottles to pair with the meats which is my favorite part. I really liked their white creamy yogurt sauce mixed with their red house chili sauce. It gave my lamb meat so much flavor and some heat. I loved my order and will definitely order two next time. I also want to try their steaks. They take their time grilling their meats so orders can take a short while. It's worth it for sure. No complaints here but I do wish they played some light music in the background for some ambiance. Things can be real quiet in here so it can be awkward dining in. Social media strikes again…read more.. I came across a reel on IG featuring Iraklis. The food looked intriguing and scrumptious...in other words FIRE! I would not have known about this place if it wasn't for the reel. I'm also not familiar with Syrian and Lebanese cuisine. Thought I'd give it a shot. Not the biggest of venues, it a bit small on the inside, they have few benches and tables outside. Parking wasn't an issue, plenty of spaces in the parking lot. The staff was very helpful and informative. This is a fast casual spot with table service. They do bring the food to you, but you can help yourself to everything else afterwards, is: water, sauces, napkins etc. #SyrianEats: WRAP: ~ SHAWARMA: Damascus style CHICKEN - 5/5 Absolutely DELISH!! Love the garlic spread that came on the side. The wrap was already tasty enough, but somehow it was even tastier with the Garlic spread. Even the fries that came with it were spectacular! That drizzle pomegranate molasses... just DELISH!! This was one of the best wraps I had Stateside. Actually the best! PLATE: ~ MANSAF - 5/5 The Lamb shank was excellent as well! Tender fall of the bone with flavor galore, and the butter sauce was amazing as well...delish! The rice that came with the Lamb shank was OK. It was probably good, but the flavor profile didn't stand up to the rest of the food. I thought it could use more flavor, but that just me nitpicking... 4.5 ***** rounded up to 5***** for me This food here is amazing. I'll be back...
