If there was a "0 STAR OPTION " I would give it a 0. Butter chicken was burnt, broken and didn't look satisfying. It was not "RED" or "ORANGE ". It was "BROWN" so instead of throwing it away knowing the bottom was burnt. They mixed it and serve it "BURNT". Pakora taste like it came back out of a trashed can. Was not "FRESH" and definitely dried like its bee in a warmer for so long or refried multiple times. Chicken 65 was dry, same chicken as butter chicken. Great taste but poor quality of chicken. Garlic naan was good Lamb biryani I would get again. Would I go back? Unfortunately no because as a chef and someone who loves Indian food. I wasn't pleased. read more

Located off the main drag of Murphy street, it doesn't get the foot traffic is should, but it seems to charge less than the other nearby south Asian resturants, I REALLY like the somosas and of course, the chicken tikka masala (I know - I'm a bit pedestrian). Best way to get there is to park in the small parking lot behind Goodwill or from Murphy street walk into the alley next to Roberto's Cantina and it's in the back next to Fibbar MacGee's. We ordered the Butter Chicken: Chicken was tender and flavor was good. Palak Paneer: good flavor and not too spicy. Garlic Naan: Naan was okay but a little thicker than I am used to. The food tasted fresh and the chicken was tender. The restaurant is clean, fancy (white table cloths) with background Indian music playing. Water took a minute to be refilled when I asked even though we were the only ones there on a Thurs night. Tips: -They seem to have online deals if taking togo - They are open late - Free wifi Overall, this is a solid Indian place in the area if looking for dinner or late-night dining. read more

Very disappointed with our takeout. The butter chicken was watery and had an over creamy weird flavor, the chicken tikka kebab was a strange lemon flavor with no tandoor markings or traditional tikka flavor. Even the naan was soggy and soft with zero crisp (was a tandoor even used?). Sadly even the lamb samosa was small and lacked flavor. Hard to report anything positive as this was also expensive. Maybe eating in would have provided opportunity to return the food. Sorry but I cannot recommend this restaurant. read more

A lovely experience overall. The food was well-prepared and flavorful -- not the most extraordinary Indian meal I've ever had, but totally enjoyable. I asked for "not too spicy," and it arrived with a balanced heat that didn't overpower the flavors. I think they're happy to adjust the spice level in either direction. I also loved seeing a couple of menu items I hadn't seen elsewhere, always fun to try something new. Service was friendly and attentive, prices were more reasonable than many nearby spots. It's tucked away in an alley just off Murphy, making it a quieter alternative to the busier places on the main street. I'd gladly return. read more

We were working at the Sunnyvale art and wine festival and really felt like some good Indian food on Saturday night since the fair went until 7. I found naan n masala on Apple Maps and they were the only local restaurant that had my wife's favorite - dal makhni. Ohh are we glad we ordered it along with some tandoori chicken, saag paneer and a samosa chaat.. holy crow was it all delicious! And while I waited for the take out order I met the owner and he was first class. It was the finale to our first day of the fair. We came for an early lunch on Friday. It was real cloth napkins and a tablecloth. It was nice and clean. I remember this place when it was the Little Tramp and the air was greasy. Later, it was a nice Japanese restaurant with no air conditioner. I hope they have a/c now. It was super quiet. They gave us 2 lentil wafers to start with tamarind and mint sauce. We liked the flavor of the palak paneer and butter chicken. The servings seemed bigger than most places. The garlic naan was soft. We ordered rice and it was a nice big bowl. We also tried the paneer pakora. It had the same sauces which were needed. They lined the paneer up on a plate. It's not the same as a bowl of mixed fried pakora which we think we would have liked better. We saw two employees and the one who took our order and served the food did a good job. He kept our water refilled. The masala tea was good. We enjoyed our lunch and hope to make this one of our regular places. read more

I ordered dinner from Naan n Masala the other week and was sadly very disappointed. I tried their garlic naan, plain naan, butter chicken, paneer tikka masala, mix pakora, and paneer pakora. The naan was very underwhelming. It didn't taste fresh and the quality was bad. It was also very thin. The garlic naan didn't have fresh garlic, it seemed to be the pre-minced garlic preserved in lemon juice that you can buy in bulk, and it was burnt on top of the bread. I'm thinking they take frozen naan, spread the preserved minced garlic on top, and throw it on a grill to char it. The flavor of the curries was good, but they were extremely greasy. So greasy that when I tried to scoop some up with the naan, it all slipped off and just left the grease on the bread lol. The paneer pakora was pretty good, crispy, and came with a delicious sauce (a chutney of some sort I think). The mix pakora was soggy and flavorless, and we ended up throwing it out. The price for food at this place is on par with or more expensive than other similar restaurants in the area, but the food quality is poor. Hopefully they improve, but for now I'd say skip it. read more

This is a relatively new spot in Murphy Square, probably opened less than 2 months? The girlfriend wanted dinner date night this evening but when it came time to go she said she didn't feel like heading out anymore & asked for takeout instead. I placed the order & told her to decant a bottle of red. I ordered Channa Masala, Baingan Bharta, Chicken Tikka Masala, Sarson ka Saag & naan. The girlfriend had everything set up including the lit candle when i returned so we had date night after all. The food was flavorful & delicious. I loved the Sarson ka Saag the most - well spiced & with a good kick. My brother is visiting from LA in 2 weeks. I will bring him to Naan N Masala for dinner. read more

Service and value was great. Unfortunately, a few things feel short. The Samosa's were covered with a chickpea salad. Which probably would've been fine on its own, but covering the samosas, they became very soggy. I've never had a samosa like that before. And the chicken tikka masala was incredibly oily, that's all I could taste,and lacking some good flavor, and the Naan didn't seem like traditional naan to me, more like a pita bread. read more

This is a great addition to the Sunnyvale Murphy Street food scene. Food was great with generous portions that you don't always see at Indian restaurants. Service was attentive but not overbearing. Ambiance is nice but not fancy. You can find it on the back side of Murphy near the parking lot near the back Fibbar McGee's entrance. There is a walkway from Murphy to the parking that goes right by the restaurant. Just a few steps off of Murphy--worth a small amount of searching! read more
