My coworkers and I stopped by for lunch while the owner was away, so one of the workers took our order. He barely spoke English, which made things interesting. We were ordering Indian food, so we had to pronounce the actual Indian dish names from the menu, and he kept repeating back completely different words. It was pretty funny. When the food finally arrived... total WTF moment. Their vegetable curry looked and tasted exactly like a bag of Safeway frozen veggies dumped in a milky sauce with some pre-packaged spice powder. The chicken tikka was so tough and chewy it was hard to believe it was fresh meat at all. I'd love to help small businesses, but... I've now given this place three fair chances, and they've disappointed me twice. Verdict is in -- I'm officially done. No more dining at Chaats & Currys for me. read more

Our office ordered multiple menu items for a work dinner on Tuesday evening, including several chicken curries and a couple vegan dishes (saag aloo curry, vegetable biryani, chicken tikka masala curry, butter chicken curry, samosas). Every single one of us annihilated our food, and raved about the amazing tastes. I absolutely enjoyed the butter chicken curry, trying it with both plain white rice and butter naan, it was so satisfying and delicious both ways, a creamy and savory flavor combination with smoky pieces of chicken. The "mild" was on the spicier side but not too spicy,  just right for me. Our meals were obviously great, but the ordering process for takeout didn't go very smoothly. I preordered and paid in advance online a couple hours earlier. Even though I got a confirmation email and text, they hadn't started the order when I arrived to pick up at the designated time, unaware of the order altogether, some mishap with the machine not printing it out in their kitchen. Once they found the order ticket, I asked if they could rush making it, and they were up to the task, the staff immediately hustling to put everything together... and they were actually able to prepare the full order rather quickly, so I appreciated that. But it could have been a disaster, and gave me a really uneasy feeling for a moment. So I recommend calling to check that your order was actually received (if they even answer the phone). It's unfortunate not being able to rely on a confirmation email and text, there's just something really wrong with that, so hopefully they fix the issue in the future. The food's good though and the service was great, very kind and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to return on my own, but not when my work depends on it due to the nerve-racking situation I recently experienced. read more

Grabbed some Butter Chicken and Naan for dinner after a long day, the flavor was great and the portion of chicken was absolutely perfect. Unsanitary and Disappointing The kitchen looked very dirty. I saw the guy touch the computer and other items, then go into the kitchen and flip naan with his bare hands--no gloves. Decided to come here since my daughter loves Indian food and this place is close to her school. This place is located in a busy complex. We ordered: - Butter Chicken wrap: better tasting than the chicken tikka - Chicken Tikka Marsala wrap: spicy even though we ordered mild. My friend came across this place via yelp as we were looking for some Indian food in the area. We are not from the Sunnyvale area so we weren't aware of any good Indian food here. However, thanks to good ol yelp, we were able to come across this place. They do have a website with their menu but as of December 2020 I don't believe it is updated. We attempted to order online but they said it was eligible for delivery only. Also, there is a section of Indian Chinese Fusion food on the menu. We tried to order this but the person on the phone said they are not serving Indian Chinese Fusion food during COVID. So to place an order to-go you have to call ahead. For the three of us, we all ordered our own individual dishes. I got the paneer tikka masala wrap, one of my friends got the coconut chicken curry with naan, and my other friend got the butter chicken with rice. I have never seen a coconut chicken curry on an Indian menu but my friend said it was delicious so this was a unique item on their menu! I really enjoyed my wrap. I am a huge fan of paneer so this was perfect for me. Also the wrap was huge and super filling so I had leftovers the next day. I did not get to try the butter chicken with rice but my friend said it was delicious as well! We also shared the samosa chaat and pani puri between the three of us. The samosa chaat was really good in my opinion. The mix of the herbs and spices were delicious. The pani puri was pretty good too. I have had pani puri at many other places but theirs was a different taste with this order. Their prices are definitely good and much better than many other Indian places in the south bay area which all have seemed to raise their prices significantly. Also, a huge plus about this place is that their portion sizes are huge. If you are ordering an entree for yourself, you will definitely have leftovers the next day. Prior to ordering, I would call to see what they have in stock that day as when we went, they did not have any Indian Chinese Fusion food or any roti's that day either. Service was very friendly over the phone and in person. They were very patient and helpful with us when we were trying to find other items on the menu. The curry itself seemed a bit watery than im used to but it definitely didn't take away from the flavor. Everything was delivered in well sealed packaging. I love spicey food but whenever I try a new spot I always proceed with caution lol so the chicken tikka was mild and it definitely had a nice kick to it. The Butter chicken was also ordered mild but I think medium would have been the better spice level to go. My only critique is roll was $13 and it was a very skinny and small size. I was disappointed since it looked bigger in size in photos and for the price point, it seemed lacking compared to other places I've been around the Bay Area. It was also wrapped in foil like three times over probably because the curry spills out when it gets cut. Service was a 5 out of 5 stars! I was prompted greeted with a warm and friendly welcome from a women that may have been the owner. I suspect she was owner because of her warmth and caring greeting. She offered to explain any item I was interested in and provided me with a hot cup of chai tea. I went before the dinner rush, so meal was served promptly. Unfortunately, my meal was mediocre and rating a 3 out of 5 because it butter chicken and naan were good but everything else was not very pleasing to my palate. Mostly because it just wasn't prepared with fresh ingredients. Samosa $7.50 - was just okay. The filing lacked oomph due to lack of salt and seasons. The accompanying chat was too sweet and thin for my liking and the accompanying chutney and tamarind condiments were usable. Tasted as if they may have been doctored up jared or canned products. Butter Chicken plate $15.95 came with a nice a fluffy naan but horribly overcooked and clumped white rice. I felt as it it was prepared in a rice cooker. Lastly, i believe the butter chicken was prepared with the tandoori chicken and sauces incorporated. The sauce was good and that and naan was all i could it. Wished they provided more chicken. My meal tab for the two items totaled almost $29 for a to go meal for just one person and not worth it because all i could eat was the naan and butter chicken. The food here is pretty decent. For $16, you can get curry, rice, naan, and daal. I asked for my lamb curry to be spicy. There was a hot sauce bar at the counter, which I didn't wind up needing. The flavor of the curry was good. Portion was more for an individual, so I wouldn't consider this a place to do family style. The naan was some of the thickest I've had but still fluffy. Wow! This place was excellent. Great chaat, amazing service, and a clean, casual setting. My husband, 1 year old, and I popped in for a late afternoon snack, and enjoyed all our dishes: 1) Pani puri - tasty 2) Papri chat - delicious and generously portioned 3) Seekh kebab - very flavorful The food was well-spiced (but not overly spicy), which we appreciated. I also enjoyed my mango lassi, and my husband liked his Taj beer. The service was wonderful. I was really impressed with how kind and considerate the staff (perhaps the owners, though I didn't ask) were. The gentleman who greeted us encouraged us to sit further from the TV so we weren't as close to the speakers (a tip we appreciated). Later, he made sure we knew where we could find extra chutneys, straws, and napkins. The woman who worked there was also very kind and friendly. Both were very welcoming of our baby, and didn't seem to mind when the baby got fussy. The space was casual, nicely decorated, clean, and welcoming.
