Kadhai Chicken is chicken cooked in a thick tomato-based sauce with bell peppers, onion, sautéed garlic. This dish comes dairy-free without any adjustments and it's delicious! The establishment is great at navigating allergens. In my multiple visits, every time the server will double check with the kitchen on items that they are unsure about (whether or not it contains ghee or cream) which I appreciate. Some other restaurants sometimes assume that ghee is okay for me but here they ask! I ask for my roti without ghee and I have never had an allergic reaction to my food after eating here. The interior is very clean and upscale feeling. The location is a bit unassuming located on the corner of a main road in Cupertino but they have a dedicated parking lot for the restaurant which makes things super easy! read more

Driven by this restaurant many times and decided to give it a try. While the service was great and our wait person was friendly and informative, the food unfortunately did not appeal to us. We dined here on a Tuesday evening and we retry had the restaurant to ourselves. We ordered the goat biryani, goan fish curry, aloo gobi and butter naan. The naan was the best dish we ordered. While the presentation of the biryani was nice - the flavor was rather flat and blah. The Goan curry was harsh - you could taste the spices were raw and had a bitter after taste. The waiter said that this was a spicy dish - not at all ! It was so mild. The fish portion was rather small. The aloo gobi was slightly overcooked and a little too salty. Went on Saturday with a party of 8. The interior was good but quite Smokey - they definitely need a better exhaust system for their restaurant. The mutton shami and chicken boti kababs were - meh. Tandoori fish was the star of the show. Bhindi was great. Chats were nice but rest of the food was middle of the road. The service was really bad. The time between appetizers and main course was quite long - even if the restaurant was less than half full. They really need to work of their service. read more

This has gone downhill now- with Safar near by, I thought they would up their game but the service has become really sad for premium meal prices. The servers have been replaced and new ones seem to be forced to be working vs really showing passion and care. We came in for dinner on Father's Day since all my dad ever wants is Indian food. The interior is very well done, which created a nice ambiance. However, the food and service can definitely be better. Food-wise, some dishes were good, while some were very forgettable. I really enjoyed the Chicken Biryani and Chicken Barrah. The chicken in both was incredibly well cooked and flavorful. The Goat Roghan Josh was just okay; I wish it had more flavor and that it came with more goat. The Garlic Naan was terrible--I've had better naan from supermarkets, so I would definitely skip this in the future. Considering the high price point, I wish that the portions were bigger. Additionally, the service was TERRIBLE. It was incredibly slow and inattentive. It took us a long time to get water or even the menu, and they didn't realize that they hadn't brought out any of our dishes when a server asked us if we were ready to pay and leave (like what ???). I have been going to this place for over 20 years. It used to be a place for taxi drivers (pre uber) - and they didn't bother much with the decor. These days, they have upgraded their interiors. Their staff is always wanting to make you feel at home and bringing you things. The food - I get cravings for these dishes - sheesh kababs, lamb korma, chicken tikka masala and aloo palak. You can never go wrong - they make their food with their grandmother's recipes. I do take out more these days - food got over before I could take pictures! :) read more

The ambience of the restaurant was great and we loved their aesthetics. We sat in a booth and ordered a variety of apps, non alcoholic drinks and foods. Their fish tandoori was honestly one of the best things I've tasted it was perfectly Smokey and had the perfect consistency. Their kebabs are also excellent. The biriyani was good but I think the butter chicken was not my favorite (not bad just didn't have that more classic creamy butter chicken taste) The mocktails deserve their own shout out as each drink was incredibly tasty! I used to enjoy their food but I've found it to be inconsistent taste wise since my last few visits, especially the galawati kababs. Some days they are melt-in-the mouth, succulent and other times just dense balls. Their service is consistently warm and friendly though a tad bit slow during lunch even though it doesn't look that busy. read more

Came late on a Saturday night (9 PM) and it was still busy with people coming in after me. Waiters and hosts were extremely friendly, giving me great recommendations and making good conversation. Interior was extremely clean (looks recently remodeled), spacious, and good temperature! Service was slightly weird (-1) as waiters had drawn out conversations with other tables and didn't come over to take my order for a long time. Also asked for water 6 times but it never came! Food was still very good! FOOD: Goat Rogan Josh (8/10) - Great flavor, huge portions and a ton of tender goat meat inside. Wished it was a bit spicier (I asked) but it still tasted delicious! Garlic Naan (10/10) - Some of the best Garlic Naan I've had in the Bay Area. Perfect crisp on the exterior, super fluffy and not dry on the inside. 5/21/2024 Kabab & Curry's 20007 Stevens Creek Blvd Cupertino, CA 95014 This is becoming one our favorite Indian places. This time I tried the Zuhrana lunch Lamb Stew. The salad was very good with high end fresh greens, tomato, olives and pumpkin seeds. The Chana Daal had a rich coconut milk flavor. The Lamb was a little chewy with some tendon and nicely spicy. My wife's Chicken Tikka Masala was also really good with a spicy gravy to spread on the Naan. Service was helpful and efficient. Will repeat again. read more

This place was amazing. Definitely worth checking out. My wife was fasting so we came in right before 7pm. The interior is really nice, very modern and upscale. The service was quick and attentive. They brought us free snacks to break our fast: fresh fruit, some fried pakora, and a date. Also including a small cup of Rose water. We ordered some buttered naan, chicken kabobs and chicken curry. Everything was so fresh, full of spices. The naan was amazing, honestly my favorite. Tasted as if it was just made. We will be keeping this place in mind for when we are in the area. We came here for a nice indian dinner after reading all the amazing reviews. But we were majorly disappointed. The service was terrible. We made a reservation for 8pm . When we arrived, the staff recommended we sit next to a table that was filthy and unclean. We asked the server to give us another table , so we waited 10 minutes before they cleaned another table and let us sit. We overlooked the initial experience and placed an order for appetizers and main course. The appetizer came 40 mins after the order was placed. And we had to remind the server to fetch it. Worst case- the galouti kebab was dry and tasteless piece of meat. The main course was disappointing too. Lacked salt and flavor in general. Absolutely delicious mugulai cuisine. We've been searching for a good North Indian place for some time in the Bay Area, and honestly, just never found something, till now. This is specifically for the Cupertino location . The chicken dishes (butter chicken and tikka masala) are not overly creamy like it is at other places, and has a beautiful undercurrent of spices balanced with the creaminess. The Rogan Josh is my favorite, so much flavor. A tell tale sign of a good Indian restaurant is if you can tell apart their dishes and no dish tastes like it has been made with the same masala. And that is the case here. The service has been a bit mixed -- they mean well, and some waiters aren't super knowledgeable, while at other times, the waiter has been absolutely stellar, knowledgeable, great at guiding our choices, and just "on it". It's a mixed bag there. The only dish I didn't feel was locked in was the tandoori salmon. Felt a bit underspiced. But not enough to ding my review. I share this sentiment with 3 of our other Indian friends, who have a good palate as well. We've been here now 4 times, and will continue to come! read more

We've been to the other Kabab & Curry location in Santa Clara, but this location is a completely different experience. After ordering takeout a few times, this was the second time we dined in. The food was really amazing, with nice presentation and delicious spices and flavors. I felt the food had more subtle tastes. For example the tandoori was the best I've had as it wasn't as over powering as many so the tastes of the fish itself was more pronounced. We also had the Lamb/goat Korma which was one of the best curry I've had. This is one of the few Indian restaurants where we take home any leftover curry sauce to use in our own cooking. The Samosa, Naan and Masala chai were also very good. The service is also 5 star. Attentive, friendly and warm. The atmosphere is standout, as they have really comfortable seating, enough space that you don't feel crowded, nice decor and dishes, and a relaxing ambiance. Much different than the restaurants with the glaring bright lights. We noticed guests enjoyed staying longer than we see in most restaurants. It's now our favorite place to go when we want to have a relaxing dinner after a busy day. I visited this restaurant with a big group and we got seated at this secluded area so it was actually great. We ordered a variety of dishes to try and everything tasted so good! I think this is their newly opened location and there weren't that many customers on a Saturday night. My boyfriend actually first drove us to the other Kabab & Currys and only came back to this restaurant after he realized he drove to the wrong location. Nice upgrade to the original Santa Clara location, but comes at a price. The good thing is the menu is more elaborate & has lot of new dishes. Also, one can book a table. Amazing food as expected from the history of K'n'C. This joint is the fancy version of the Santa Clara staple joint. Keeps the same taste and adds new classics like Roomali roti and Lucknowi paratha. This place is quite good with a good ambiance inside. My only complaint would be portion size for what you pay. I ordered a chicken korma and received 2 small boneless pieces of chicken and 2 drumsticks, which didn't have much meat on them. Chicken is cheap! Don't be so skimpy! My other suggestion to attract more customers driving by, would be to change the sign out front to have white graphics on a black background so it's easier to read in the day or at night. The red graphics on a black background is all too dark for both day and night and doesn't give off the same fresh vibe the interior decor offers. I was actually surprised by the interior based off my first impressions from the sign. I thought it would be old and stuffy, but to my delight, it was much more modern. read more

I was excited to see the new branch of kebab and curry's. We went on a Saturday night. Restaurant is huge. Ambiance is elegant and upscale. They used black, brown and gold colors across the restaurant with some really chic golden chandeliers and black ceilings. In addition to the usual tablecloths, they had 4 pieces of silverware per person already prearranged across the tables . The plates and cutlery were embossed with their logo as well. It was obvious they went the extra mile to elevate things. The menu indicated they are still in soft opening state. Items were more or less similar to their Isabella branch. We decided on chicken seekh kebab, mushroom kebab, palak paneer, chicken tikka masala, rumali roti, lucknowi paratha and garlic naan. Rumali roti: I don't recall ever eating a true roomali roti in the bayarea and was excited they had it on their menu. Roomal essentially means handkerchief and the roti is supposed to be as thin as a handkerchief and huge. The version here is definitely the real deal albeit much smaller than I would have liked. Mushroom kebab: delicious!! The sauce or marinade coating the mushrooms was delectable and one wouldn't even guess they are mushrooms, the plate came with some roasted baby potatoes which were heavenly. The green sauce on the side was the perfect accompaniment. Chicken seekh kebab: the kids absolutely loved this one. They demanded more and we ordered another plate as well. Palak paneer: this was great as well but lacked salt. Once we added some, it was amazing. The paneer was soft and the gravy was not very heavy. Chicken tikka masala: quantities might seem less as they serve in huge rimmed dishes. This was another great dish, again not very heavy and well rounded. Lucknowi paratha: this is the thinner and stretched out version of naan. Everyone at our table liked this the most. Garlic naan: this was thicker than the lucknowi paratha. Size was decent. Tandoori roti: this is similar to naan but made with whole wheat. I liked it more than the garlic naan as it's lighter and not as thick. After our meal the waiter got a plate with some white color tablets. He poured water over it at our table and they expanded to become our washcloths. Really fancy!! Overall, we enjoyed the experience and the kids especially remarked that they surprisingly liked everything. I can see myself recommending this place to friends. read more

We've been wanting to go for a few weeks but couldn't go. Finally we did a takeout but it was mainly chicken dishes which my wife wanted. Im a vegetarian and so the review is her review. We ordered the chicken leg and chicken banjara and onion naan, All were good. She ate it over two days and the taste stayed and was delicious. The naan was reheated over a pan. She like it as it was crunchy . The prices are a little higher here but if dining in, it's probably ok. We'll surely try the dine in experience. read more

In the Santa Clara location, I can tell you the items are cheaper, a chicken tikka masala here in Cupertino will cost you 23$ and in the other Santa Clara location $17.50, you can save an average of 6$ on each entree ! Thats huge. I think they really jacked up their prices but they have EXCELLENT food, my only complaint with Cupertino is the portions are really small. The reshmi kebab, was really delicious but barely any substantial pieces for 22$. I felt the mango lassi too was like a kids size. I don't think we will be returning, as I think its priced too heavy. We were regular's at the Santa Clara location it's simpler, but well priced and portioned, and I can understand why that place is more busy. This place in Cupertino is previously Shaan restaurant. They bought the space, and transformed it into a feel of 'upscale fine dining' indian food, but the service does not match up too good. And I also felt the tables don't really offer any privacy or an ambience which is elegant enough to warrant those high prices. We ordered: 1 lassi mango 1 reshmi kebab 1 side of riata 1 chicken biryani 1 murgh badami No drinks 2 naans 1 mutton handi Their raita VERY small tiny portion, 4.50 Their lassi again very small portion kind of like 1/2 a wine caraf, 6$ Their rashmi kebab 22$ All main entrees are well above 22$ so we will visit the Santa Clara location next time. Their chicken seekh kabab were great, came out hot and sizzling. Their chicken boti was very little and no flavor at all. It looked like 2 pieces of boti cut into tiny pieces and decorated it with onions. It was small portion and price point did not match. Their blue Hawaiian and pina colda was basically the same drink probably just different colors but was good taste for mocktails. Something sunrise drink was all mango juice with fruits mixed in, nothing special as the guy making it to be. Their biryani was not good as their other location in Santa Clara. The keema naan are good but meat is super thin, can't even tell if there is any keema in. Add more keema to it. They overcooked their regular naan, which was hard and crispy. read more

Maybe go little easy on the oil for the spinach Lunch salad unique and excellent Korma chicken ok. Didn't feel as fresh though. Dal ok Goat biryani decent but a let down when compared to the original biryani at the Santa Clara or paradise on el Camino. Didn't feel fresh. Overall most of the food was a little bland for our taste but that's ok since they are catering to a wider customer base. What is not okay is if the food doesn't feel fresh. read more
