Looking for a gift whilst strolling around Hudson Yards, we came upon Ladurée, home of the macaron. So we got a box of assorted macarons, 18 in all, various flavors and colors, in a high quality, fancy box. And wrapped in a ribbon. It took a lot of willpower not to snag one or two prior to the gifting. But we made it, the gift was well received, and to our luck, the recipient was more than happy to share the macarons with everybody. My favorite is the "Marie Antoinette Tea" macaron, bright blue with a slightly bitter taste of tea leaves. Let 'em eat cake - the rest of us will be happy with macarons! read more

So cute. Right inside The Shops at Hudson Yards. Sadly, they were out of a lot of things that I wanted, including the pistachio chocolate croissant and the almond chocolate croissant and the hazelnut macaroon. But I did get a chocolate croissant and a raspberry macaroon and a jasmine green tea macaroon. They packaged it very nicely. The matcha green tea macaroon was so delightful and soft. I love the flavor. The raspberry macaroon was so delicious. Probably the best macaroon I've had to date. The croissant was so big bigger than my face. Stopped in with my kids for a treat- the raspberry dessert with lychee was my favorite, but we also enjoyed a vanilla/praline and raspberry bar. Premium dessert shop. Macarons are the way to go! As someone who had zero skills (or accuracy) for baking, I will happily pay to indulge my sweet tooth. Feast your eyes on the colorful options and choose from the variety of flavors. Opt for a gift box or buy a few singles with a side of espresso. These little guys aren't cheap, but are one of the better made macarons in the city (in my opinion). They are deliciously fluffy, light and notoriously addictive. Passion fruit and raspberry are my favorites -- recently tried the Marie-Antoinette Tea, which was uniquely different in taste, but not something I'd get again. My son has also developed a taste for these, but hey, we all deserve a treat once in awhile! read more

Cute cafe near the Hudson Yards entrance. This has expensive yet delicious macarons. The macarons smelled freshly-baked and were soft. Picked some up to-go on a weekday morning and it can get a bit busy during rush hours. They also come in variety packages and have a neat variety of flavors. read more

On one fine festive evening, I walked into one of their cute stores in New York City located at the magnificent Hudson Yards. They have a great variety of Macarons once you stepped in and a great menu in Coffee and Chai. Following are the macarons I've tried: Marie-Antoinette Tea Caramel Blackcurrant Violet Chocolate Mint Marie-Antoinette Tea was delicious and highly recommended. Chocolate Mint was a unique choice. Expensive, but everything was delicious. We swung by on a random weekend day (mostly accidentally) and I love Laduree, so had to go in. There was only one guy working, who was very nice, but it did take a few minutes for our drinks to come out. My husband got a specialty latte which was AMAZING. I got an iced tea (delicious) and we ordered several macarons. They had about 3-4 tables, but it wasn't busy and we managed to snag one to sit for awhile. The closest bathroom was up an elevator and a bit of a hike, which was a little annoying, but other than that, we had no complaints besides the price. (But I'd rather pay more for a high-quality product, which is what this is). Overall, we were really happy we stumbled on this location and I'd definitely recommend! read more

I was looking for something to bring back to some of my colleagues during my New York trip and my sister recommended that I buy them macarons from Laduree. I saw mixed reviews about this brand but I trusted my sister's judgment so I made the effort to come to the little Laduree cart in the Hudson Yards shopping center. These macarons are the BEST macarons I've ever had! They are the real deal! I was skeptical that the taste would be worth the high price (about $3 per macaron) but every person at work that tried these said the same thing, that it was the best macaron they've ever had! What makes these macarons so great is that they really pack a punch of flavor despite being such a small cookie. The flavors vary depending on which day you visit (chocolate, vanilla, caramel, coffee, lemon, passion fruit). My favorite was the rose lychee, the intense flavor blew my mind! In conclusion, these make great gifts especially since the boxes are beautiful. For one colleague who was out when I returned, I froze his box of macarons and thawed them when he came back and he said they were still fresh. If you're looking for a shareable souvenir that will for sure impress, definitely buy some Laduree macarons!!! read more
