3.5 stars overall We got chocolates, macrons, and truffles from this spot and they are delicious Their macrons are delicious, but they are on the sweeter side. I deducted one star as a few of the macrons tasted very similar to each other and didn't stand out plus they were on the soft side, there wasn't a slight crispy to the outer shell. Though there were 2 that i absolutely loved given the fresh flavor profile. Their truffles are great as I tried both the dark chocolate mousse truffles, they are coated in cocoa powder and are absolutely divine melt in your mouth truffle. I Loved it since I love dark chocolates, like i don't touch milk or white chocolate (of course white chocolate is pure sugar, that's another topic); these chocolates are definitely an indulgence, rich, super sweet, and diverse flavors (has hazelnut praline, pistachio, almond, ganache with lemon zest, the 100% cocoa ganache and so much more). This was definitely super rich and the sweetest dark chocolates I have ever had so it doesn't feel too much like dark chocolate (the two kinds in the box of 24 or so were good but the rest on the sweet side). Minus half a star for this Can't comment on the service or the ambience given I haven't been to the location, but I would love to stop by and check this spot out in the future especially for their dark chocolate truffles as those were the best among anything else I tried and would try them again read more

French chocolate shop located in Rockefeller Center. My friend told me this is her favorite chocolate to shop at and I definitely know why! The store asked if I had been in before. I let them know it was my first time. They gave me two samples (dark and milk chocolate). I ordered a dark sipping chocolate with fresh made whipped cream. So rich and delicious! I ordered the small. This was our first time visiting this French chocolate shop and we were blown away by the beautiful interior, the divine looking chocolates, and the attentive and knowledgeable staff. The variety of chocolates and other items available are impressive. Edible works of art and extremely high quality. You taste it with just that one small bite. We left with some praline sticks and a praline assortment, and much more. How great to know I can place an order online for our now favorite chocolates! We liked everything we purchased and cannot wait to try more. Anything here would make a wonderful gift for any chocolate lover. There was a time when there were 3 Top Tier Chocolatiers in the vicinity of Rock Center. Jacques Torres closing during Covid, was a huge loss. So now the choices are either Teuscher or La Maison. While Teuscher is very festive and well decorated, I prefer La Maison. They are more consistent, and far more serious about their product. I always end up here for The Special Someone in my life. This year for Valentine's Day, they had an artist personalizing the heart shaped box of chocolates. A nice touch indeed ! La Maison also has a small seating area in the back of the store. For when you need a mid afternoon Espresso, a small piece of cake, macaroons or if you want to open up that box of chocolates you just bought. The place is pricey, but you are paying for quality and experience; almost 50 years. Popped in to grab a quick hot coco and for $6 the mini cup did not disappoint! Rich and good amount. It was almost pin drop silent in the store and the staff were very attentive, and the chocolate designs were beautiful. It helped take away from the hustle and bustle of the area. I was offered a sample of my choosing and learned about the different chocolate options and flavors. They have a fantastic array of options too! I came here to get something for my aunt. She texted me a list of chocolatier places that I can select from to purchase for her friend. Since La Maison du Chocolat was the ranked number one on her list, I decided to come on the first day of arriving to NYC. It's pretty expensive. I was shocked at the prices. I ended up purchasing something for her friend and I bought a box for her as well as a surprise. The shop was pristine. Service was great. I just wish I spent something for myself though. The transaction landed 2 samples, but I packed it and gave the entire bag to my aunt. From bars, truffles, macarons, pralines, cakes, etc. Don't forget the drinks (i.e. coffee, espresso, etc.). I cannot comment on taste but my experience there was exceptional. I'm going to purchase for shipping since her birthday is in late May. read more

The chocolate was very tasty. I enjoyed a passion fruit filled nugget which was different. Service was exceptionally kind and excellent. Located in the Rockefeller center. It's very expensive. Each mini piece (about two small bites for each nugget) was $6. So if you want to splurge to try it then it's fun. This is a 4.5 star review. read more

It's true, this spot definitely falls into the four dollar sign budget bracket but goodness, they make a delicious hot chocolate. Brace yourself, this hot chocolate is $10 a pop Make certain you have it topped with the homemade whipped cream- the whole thing is so decadent and delicious. The gentleman working the beverage bar was so friendly. This spot is located just a few doors down from Rockefeller Plaza. They offer a variety of high end truffles and chocolate offerings. The only reason I hold off on the fifth star is the price of the beverages for a carryout experience (seating not available). read more

Wonderful staff. Attentive to every small detail. You can definitely tell this is fine chocolate. However, I was not overwhelmed. Visited this place a few years back and the hot chocolate was like a delicious chocolate pudding nice and thick and it left us wanting to return to have another. Just returned today and I don't know what happened. The hot chocolate was not up to par. Watery, bitter and not at all what we experienced before. When I spoke to someone behind the counter she said they had changed machines and I told her to change back. Will not be returning. We spent over $100 and not worth it. read more

I'm so late writing this review. La Maison Du Chocolat is a beautiful expensive chocolate shop in Rockefeller Plaza. I was greeted as soon as I walked in. They didn't mind my photo taking, my questions were politely answered, and it was definitely a pleasant experience that I don't have often. The chocolate comes from France and is fresh. Naturally I fell in love with the chocolate covered coconut. That piece will set you back $6.75. I find that a little too pricey when I want a piece of chocolate. That's not to say this isn't a great place for chocolate delights if you can afford the luxury. I'm recommending you at least try a piece once! That's what I did! read more

My review is not for this store but for their chocolates I ordered online, and got it delivered to California (it was shipped from NY; we paid for the cheaper "ground" shipping which cost $12, and it actually took less than 2 days from order placement to arrive! You can get free overnight shipping if your order is over a certain amount). Just wanted to try out their chocolates, so ordered a small box of 16 pralines etc (Gesture Box $38), plus 2 bars (1 hazelnut in milk+dark chocolate, and 1 passion fruit on dark - $15 each). I say the box of 16 was small because it was tiny, which I didn't realize until I received it - see photo of box next to my 6 oz coffee cup (size/scale can be deceiving online!). That was fine for me because I'm actually not a big chocolate indulger, usually afraid it will be too sweet, or just not good, but I will occasionally crave it. Their chocolates definitely appear & taste elegant and luxurious -- the tiny praline pieces appeared delicately made, and had nuanced flavors. From dark chocolate ganache with passion fruit pulp, to milk chocolate praline with slivers of crispy crêpes, to chocolate ganache infused with Ethiopian coffee...the flavors were nuanced and noticeable. I would rate them 5/5 stars for this, as well as for the fast "ground" shipping, except somehow for the price point you still expect a bit more. Regarding the bars, I of course liked the passion fruit one as I like my desserts slightly tart, and their passion fruit flavor tasted non-artificial and balanced. Both bars however were slightly sweeter than expected, even though the passion fruit one was dark chocolate (but this coming from someone who has a lower sweetness preference). The hazelnut bar in milk & dark was good but nothing to rave about. Overall, glad I was able to try their chocolates despite not being near a physical store. The chocolates are to die for, but they really need to work on their shipping. Had a family friend send me several of their chocolates for the holidays (most notably the champagne ganaches), but they arrived somewhat broken and the arrangement messed up. Really delicious chocolates though that just melt in your mouth. Buttery, rich, a perfect balance between the champagne flavor (my personal favorite was the milk chocolate as the champagne flavor was stronger) and the chocolate. read more

There is a time a woman like myself just needs to have something sweet especially after a long day of working overtime and doing a million things at once. It was filing week and I was on my way back from delivering the last tax return for 2020 to the client on a Thursday, as I headed to the office, I passed this place for some macarons. I got six and they were okay. The filling was super delicious, but the shells were a bit soggy to my liking. I like them on the chewier side, but as someone that works in the building, I get 15% off! So I go here regularly especially when I am in the office. One day, after my business trip to Dallas, I felt like I deserved a treat. I met up with someone after my laser hair removal appointment and we walked around fifth avenue until I told him I wanted macarons. We went here and I saw these little mounds wrapped in a pale pink foil moment. They are seasonal glazed chestnuts. In lieu of the coming holiday season, I decided to get one. Well, my company bought me one along with six macarons. Wow! The chestnuts were delicious! I was so obsessed I went back and got three more some other time. I think these are seasonal, but I really hope they are not! I 100% recommend going to get these chestnuts! P.S. join their rewards program to earn points and a free something on your bday AND ask if they have samples! They will more than happily give you samples.
