Lady luck is always a comfortable spot for me and my boyfriend to stay whenever we go to Blackhawk. It doesn't have all the glitz or the glam and then it's not as tiny as some of the boutique or more private casinos as far as lodging this has been good for us so far as we're novices with gambling and not trying to change that we enjoy having fun. And then going back up to Denver. Michaela is one of the front desk representatives within both horseshoe and lady luck and she just happens to be amazing. There are a couple of others. I just don't know their names but certainly Michaela Amanda they are extremely customer service oriented. George at the VIP lounge is heaven sent. We always have a good time when we come. Let me tell you about this place... The frustration started the second we checked in. There was absolutely NO ONE at the front desk. And I don't mean for a minute or two... we waited 10-15 minutes before anyone finally showed up. Once we got into our room, it honestly just felt... dirty. I'm pretty sure the carpet has been there since dinosaurs roamed the Earth. The whole room just had that gross, grimy feeling. The customer service didn't get much better. Around midnight, I called the front desk to ask if they had feminine products. The gentleman on the phone said, "Yes, just come down to the front desk." So down I went... only to find myself standing there waiting. Again. After about 10 minutes, I noticed a sign that said to call a number if no one was at the desk. I called and was told no one would be there until the morning. Seriously? Thankfully, another employee happened to walk by and told me there *should* be feminine products in a few of the vending machines. Great! Except... nope. I checked three different machines, and not a single one had any. By this point, I felt like I'd walked a marathon. You know how casino hotels are... everything is somehow a mile away. I ended up rushing over to a different casino and made it with about five minutes before their store closed. The entire stay was one frustration after another. Between the lack of staff, the dirty room, and the poor customer service, this place was a huge disappointment. I won't be staying here again. read more

I sated the night and was trying to sleep in as check out was not till 11am at 9am housekeeping was pounding on the door and trying to open it with out giving us time to even get out of bed. It was just me and my minor child staying. that is so not safe for people staying knowing that housekeeping can just walk in your room even before checking out time. Manager Neal did not care said it was hotel police and was very rude to us when we talked to him. He said I should have answered them but I did not even have time to get out of bed before they tried coming in to the room. floors were dirty air conditioner did not work much and would not cool room down so they brought in a box fan that was very loud. Room was clean, but this place isn't that great. They advertise that the amenities include a refrigerator and microwave. Microwaves are $25 a day to rent. We didn't have an ice bucket in our room and had to call down for one. The shower does not get that hot, which is frustrating. At check-in the lady didn't know how to work the key card machine. She only gave us one key card and it expired the next morning even though we were scheduled to be there for 3 days. There was a huge line, so we tried using the kiosk and it would not register either of our id's. So we got back in line and waited 20mis to get new keys (she was understandably checking in new guests, it just sucked to wait when we had somewhere to be and this could have been avoided in the first place). We ordered food from the room and payed for it with our card, but they also charged it to our room upon check out. The person at the front desk didn't know how to erase the charge, but called their manager who over the phone said they would take care of it. There are a few unsavory individuals that run around the motel. A girl and her guy friend that were literally rolling off of nitrous that she was actually carrying around in her arms going floor to floor during check out time. So...that was interesting. There's not a store or anything nearby, so if you needed something extra, other hotels in the area will actually have something. This is the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed at! Caesars Rewards should be ashamed to have their name tied to this hotel/casino. As soon as we got to our room the toilet had tissue in it and didn't flush. We had to wait 30 minutes after an hour and 30 minute drive to use our bathroom! Also, there was no extra toilet paper roll. Another 30 minutes of waiting. The room itself was so rundown. Tears on the wall, carpet and the drapes hanging off. Broken fixtures in the bathroom. I strongly believe the housekeeper did not clean beforehand as there was ramen noodles on the ground in the bathroom. There were also 3 bugs in our room 2 on the bed and one in the shower. What the heck! You can hear everyone's plumbing throughout the night. Also, they are apparently short staffed and only once during my 4 day stay did I see a worker at the front desk which was during my check in. They didn't even have anyone during my checkout at the front desk. Luckily there was the kiosk but the line grew at the desk as people needed further assistance. What a hot mess. At approximately 5:30pm tonight we are at the spa and get a call from the Lady Luck that our dog was barking. We cut our spa time short to check and he was asleep in our room that we paid extra for a dog to stay at Lady Luck. Now at midnight a door down a dog will not stop barking. We call and even speak to a bellman in the corridor that dismissed the fact we were blamed earlier and said this was not a big deal at midnight. read more

I used to love the poker room at Lady Luck but it has been closed for a few years now. Lady Luck is a smaller, older casino but the staff is always great. The highlight now is the tiny taco eatery called TaCo Cantina. It's staffed by one person and the ingredients are pretty much all pre made but the tacos are so tasty. One taco is about $5 and definitely fills me up. This visit I had the pork and green chili taco and it was great - as usual. I didn't see many new slot machines and didn't get upstairs where the table games and restaurant are but Lady Luck will always be nostalgic for me. read more

Horrible experience. Elevators were down and no assistance. Our rooms were not ready after being reserved. Hotel workers are no help.

We paid extra to have our dog in our room (who has traveled to many Marriott hotels without issue and is not a barker). The hotel called and texted us during our dinner (which put a damper on our lovely meal at the Monarch chophouse) that they had numerous complaints that our dog was barking. We went back to the room, our dog was not barking. Later that evening the dog across the hall was barking for over an hour (it's a dog floor, not necessarily unexpected?!). I called in the AM and the manager (Neil) was less than helpful. Will not be back. read more

The hotel and casino/bar were both great. We checked in and went up to our very clean and large rooms. They are in great shape. We could tell they have been remodeled. After we were in our rooms we went down and over the sky bridge over the street to the casino. I went over to the bar but a couple of twenties and the bar tender asked me why I wanted to which I responded "Jameson on the rocks". I was surprised to hear that he could not offer me Jameson for free but he did offer Tullamore which is also an Irish Whiskey. And it's good too so I had no problem. I really enjoyed sitting at the bar and talking to the bar tender about the area. The casino is really nice although the girls were not very successful at this casino. In fact most casinos in this town. That is unusual for my wife who normally does pretty well at most casinos we go to in So Cal and Vegas. read more

Lady Luck Casino Hotel is nice and comfortable! There are some things that do need some tweaking! First of all, our room was nice, inviting, and clean. Our room only had this one little trash can in the bathroom which was somewhat frustrating!! The ironing board was inoperable...we weren't able to extend it open! So, we used the bed! Now, the king size bed was very comfortable! The refrigerator was so small! Also the faucet in the shower was extremely loose but it still worked! We hosted several family members and friends for our wedding this weekend and put them up at Lady Luck. We paid in advance for the rooms and personally checked them in - in advance of their arrivals. One of our guests is a single mother with a limited income - when she checked in they demanded a credit card from her (in her case... a Debit card) EVEN THOUGH WE PUT OUR CARD ON FILE. The staff REFUSED to check her in If she did not give them a card. She checked out this morning and her card was charged almost $100 for a resort fee and a deposit. Not our card - which is what we instructed. Her debit card. Lady Luck ... we will not recommend you or give you anymore business. Anyone thinking about staying here - the rooms were hot and stuffy because the A/C was not working in ANY of our guests' rooms. When the front desk was called about the rooms being too hot - they simply said no one was on duty to remedy the situation. Not going back. Not hosting friends or family here again. read more

Trouble finding employees...COVID...blah, blah, BLAH. This was the excuse the TWO (2) Front desk clerks at the Isle Casio gave while checking me into the Unlucky Lady casino, whose front desk was about a Quarter Mile Walk away from where I'd dutifully parked my car following the Guest Check In signs. Finding perfect parking, I leaned the desk was CLOSED! Why not put one clerk at each check-in desk? Why not close one hotel and just keep the other open? Answers to these questions can only be found in the minds of well trained, highly paid, intelligent, Hotel Management Professionals. Mere mortals, are just confused, and pissed off. Happily I was placated with a Free Appetizer Coupon from the Farmer's Market Café. So after walking the quarter mile BACK TO MY CAR, finding my room, I could walk BACK TO THE ISLE to use the freakin' complementary coupon. Why not give a comp to Unlucky Lady casino guests for something in the casino where they checked in? Again, the answer is blowing in the wind between managements' ears. read more

I had planned to spend my birthday here but that morning we got the devastating news that my sister in law passed away very early that morning. ON MY BIRTHDAY! I expected to spend it on a staycation instead of a crime scene!!! I personally called Neil, the manager, who assured me that because of the tragic circumstances "he understood and would make sure and give a full refund on the room I'd paid in full for upfront, regardless of their usual cancelation policy". Which he LIED. He definitely didn't do what he said he would. In fact, he charged me $26 EXTRA for some strange reason. I have visited the different hotels and casinos in Black Hawk many times but I WILL NEVER give my time or money to such disgraceful business practices. And as for Neil, this manager, someone whose so heartless to not only have no empathy for such a tragic situation, but also a straight up LIAR?! What a disgusting human being. NO customer service etiquette or moral standards, whatsoever. Absolutely unprofessional and inhumane in all aspects. He does NOT need to be in a management position. Let me start by saying this is only about the room and not the casino itself. We went to our room at about 3:00 in the morning after Casino hopping. As I sat my phone down on the nightstand I was met with a greasy suspicious, substance all over the top. It seemed very similar to lube. After cleaning that up, we went to sleep only to be woken up at 9:00am by a cleaning lady walking into our room. The hotel does not offer "Do Not Disturb" signs. Then, we get another visit at 10:05am. Check out is not until 11:00am and for a city that is 24/7 I felt it was a huge disturbance to be awoke by staff hours before check-out. This was our 2nd stay here, our first stay back in March consisted of a room near the elevator and be warned, you will hear the mechanical sounds as it runs and being a casino it will run ALL the time! Lots of dirty surfaces, old, broken, rundown and despite being somewhere most people just sleep, it is not comfortable and not worth your money. read more

The Lady Luck is actually a wonderful hotel. It's recently been renovated, and the rooms are outstanding. My wife and I, and some friends from out of town stayed here one Friday night and had a great time. The hotel offers free parking, and is minutes away from the Ameristar hotel & casino. The bathroom in the hotel room was extremely luxurious. Granite vanity, and brand new stone floor tiles. If you want to stay in Black Hawk over the weekend, and don't want to spend a lot on the hotel, then this place is perfect. read more

Horrible experience! Our room was FILTHY! First- this was our second time staying at Lady Luck after a decent first time in the Spring. We also had a difficult time accessing our room. The first key card they gave us did not work in the elevator, and then when we got to our room the key card did not work. Management was unfriendly as well. Our rooms this time were disgusting- there was no shower curtain in the shower, and the towels in the bathroom felt dirty and old. There was hair in various places in the bathroom that were not my hair. The floor in the bathroom had visible dirt, and there were no garbage liners in the trash cans in the room. The room felt as if it had not been cleaned upon our arrival. There was also plastic placed around the smoke detector which was very odd. I called to ask for a shower curtain to be put up in the room, and the shower curtain was left on the TV stand, and they did not hang it for me. I also requested an extra pillow as they hardly provided pillows, and the pillow brought had no pillowcases on them. The pillows felt dirty, the bedding felt dirty. As I was laying in bed trying to fall asleep I noticed multiple pieces of hair on the sheets that were NOT my hair. I was so uncomfortable and grossed out. The fridge also did not work very well and did not keep our drinks cold. There is also no microwave, and the food in the Isle Casino is not very good, and not convenient. The bed was very uncomfortable, and we hardly slept, and left as soon as we woke up, and did not even want to go back into the casino after such a dismal experience. The only positive thing I have to say about Lady Luck Casino is that the security guard was very friendly, and pleasant. We will not be back. UPDATE: I just called to complain about the room and the saftey concerns with the elevator key reader not working. I got transferred 4 times before talking to someone. No offer to make anything right, just that they'll "check on it". Yeah, just like they "check on" their absolutely disgusting carpets and non-working amenities in their rooms. If someone from this establishment reads this: please know that as a customer, it really feels like nobody that actually works there seems to give a shit, ESPECIALLY your manager of 9 years that swears his standards are sky high. That must explain all the fantastic reviews! This place was a total disaster. This isn't the first time either, as a stay we had here last year was extremely subpar as well. Before we headed out for dinner and fun, I thought I'd take a shower. Turned it on, let it run a minute and went to grab my clothes and such. Went back in the bathroom and it reeked of sewage. The bathroom smelled like a swamp, and it was from the water. It stunk in the morning too, so there was no way I was getting in there. Before bed, I turned off the lights and went to turn on the desk lamp: didn't work. Went to turn on the floor lamp: didn't work. Turned on the fan: barely spun, and spun the wrong way so it didn't even move any air. To top it off, the carpets were DISGUSTING. Not to mention there were confetti cake sprinkles all under the sink in the bathroom. After our complaints, nothing got solved, JUST LIKE LAST TIME. The keyreader in the hotel elevator didn't even work, meaning anyone could access the floors from the casino even if they weren't staying there. You know a place is really bad when checkout takes 20 minutes because of the line of guests complaining about their stays. They don't seem to care, so you should definitely just spend the extra 40 bucks to stay somewhere decent, as the Lady Luck is and always has been the bottom dweller of Black Hawk hotels. read more

We enjoyed staying at this hotel/casino. Our first time to this area and so glad we stayed in Black Hawk instead of Central City. Black Hawk is way classier than Central City. Beautiful streets and flowers and landscape. Food....not anything that was really that great. Great location at Lady Luck and good vibe in the casino.....would have appreciated more machines than 88 cents per spin. Taco place was OK.....they comped our drinks and that was nice. If you read the reviews, you will keep seeing that the front desk is often abandoned and that is true. Lady Luck is connected to the Isle Casino also called Horseshoe so it is confusing. We had pretty good luck checking in with someone there. Hotel has a laid back train station vibe......great music all the time....polite employees.........really no restaurant as you have to go to the Isle to get some food. We would come back. After a great first time here, my husband and I returned to our room to pull down the sheets to prior blood stains... I called to the front desk with not much concern was told we would be moved to another room, after 3 calls to the front desk to the isles we finally got key cards to a new room to sit outside for 15 minutest due to our keys not working. Arrived at Black Hawk, checked in at Lady Luck and was issued a key to a room with people in it. This presented a security issue to us, that someone else could get access to a room we were occupying. We went to the desk and told them that there were people in the room, and the desk clerks just laughed it off. Very unprofessional!!! We were then issued another key to a different room. The room smelled like smoke, there was no soap or shampoo. The carpet in the hallway was filthy, especially in front of all the doors. Stains and dirt everywhere! The room we were assigned was non-smoking. Not. Had to walk back over to the Isle to get assigned another room. Maybe not their fault either? The beds have no real comforters. Old wool blankets w multiple hairs- from different people, were sandwiched between sheets. Really? You remodeled your entire hotel and didn't invest in decent bed linen? I got a great towel in bathroom and I almost considered a third star, but I'm sorry all towels weren't the same. Then my daughter went to close the window of our 12 Th floor room which I had opened earlier bc the room needed airing out, and I swear this is true- the window came off in her hands! She was able to fit it back in its track, but holy cow! The hotel looks nice on the surface but room not clean. DO NOT STAY HERE! We had a wedding nearby and did a room block here. It was an absolute nightmare. One person checked in, went to the room and someone is in the room. They gave them a room of someone who hasn't checked out yet. Another couple tried to check in after the wedding and they told them they didn't have a room. Someone on the list of confirmed room blocks and from out of town, they wouldn't give a room. The keys wouldn't work on half of the rooms requiring you to often go down to get a new room key. More couples got put in the other hotel and not with everyone at the same hotel. Others they reserved two beds and got one bed and they just said sorry that's all we have. The room block was an absolute nightmare and made the groom and bride stress about it throughout their wedding day read more

UPDATE: Although we continue to find ourselves booking rooms here (most recently over the weekend), I wasn't as impressed as previous visits. Sure, the casino is still cool and the experience is still fun . The rooms are still spacious and gets the job done - but something was off. We had booked a "hometown getaway" deal featured on their website which consisted of a night stay and $50 credit to either the Isle buffet or Otis and Henry restaurant. With the coupon given to us at check in, we headed to the cashier in the casino to get our food voucher only to be told they had no idea what this deal was. Because there was a tiny Isle sticker in the top left corner, they sent us to the Isle to redeem - despite us wanting $50 to Otis and Henry restaurant. After waiting 30 minutes in line, the Isle sent us back to the lady luck to redeem our food, as it was "not their restaurant". BAH! We finally settled our problem with a host - who simply wrote a check for $50 to spend at the restaurant - which would have been easier the first time around. I felt staff was trained on their promotions or knew where to send guests - which put a bad taste in my mouth. There were stains all over the furniture in our room, along with itchy sheets on our bed. Maybe just an off day - but either way, I checked out feeling a little MEH about the whole experience. We're sitting at a bar watching the Rockies lose then the WSOP pops up on another TV, all of sudden my hands start to itch for some Texas Hold'em poker. Friend and I chuck down our beers and up the hill we go. Taking I-70 west to Central City Pkwy is a smoother drive compared to Hwy 119 which consist of busy, slow, and curvy roads. Lady Luck is a sister casino to the Isle Casino and can be accessed by a sky bridge so you don't have to go outside when it's freezing cold. The reward card can be shared at both properties and you earn $2 per hour on table games with credit towards food or hotel stay. Otis and Henry restaurant had decent breakfast and the 7am pancakes did not disappoint after pulling an all nighter on the blackjack table. They have hotel rooms here but the Isle rooms looks a lot better. The poker room is upstairs and most of the games are lower $2-$10 limit but they do offer $60 no-limit tournaments on Fri 7pm, Sat 4pm, Sun 2pm. Isle of Capri Casino has $2 to $100 spread poker (CO law restricts max bet $100). They only had 2 tables running on a Sat night with Bad Beat Aces full of 10s $20k or Quads $100k+. 10% rake here, not to exceed $5 per hand. If you play 4 hours, hotel rooms are $39 Sun-Thu. Regular rate for Fri and Sat is around $200 per night. Poker tournaments are scheduled online, but the dealer told me they haven't had enough people to run a tournament for years. Overall, the poker room was isolated from the main casino and you don't have to wait an hour to play compared to Ameristar poker room ($400k Bad Beat draws a lot of players to go there). It's A-OK for average gambler addicts. If you prefer the Vegas style casino then Ameristar is your only choice with nice hotel rooms and a rooftop pool. Golden Gates Casino offers the most poker tables and daily tournaments with blackjack tables dealt by G-Girls. Let's start with how I ended up here in the first place. On Expedia, there was an ad for their sister hotel, The Isle. I booked a room for The Isle, my reservation said The Isle, I parked in The Isle parking garage, and proceeded to The Isle check-in desk. Seems pretty normal right? Once I hand my license and credit card to the person checking me in, they inform me that I booked a room at Lady Luck up the street. This was news to me, so I whipped out my trusty smartphone and opened my Expedia app. Sure enough, my reservation was for The Isle, not Lady Luck. It even had a picture of The Isle ON THE RESERVATION. The check-in person told me that there were no rooms at the inn, so despite huffing it through the busy garage on a Saturday night with my wife and I's bags, I would now have to huff it over to Lady Luck if I wanted a room. And, oh by the way, there's a an extra $50 deposit for that. This was never disclosed until check in. So now I head over to the dump that is Lady Luck. Out dated, old, dirty, dingy, dark, dank, and just not worth the money I paid. But then again, I thought I was paying for The Isle. Paper thin walls so you can hear everything next to and above you, the AC does not work effectively, so if you are staying in the summer bring your own fan, and forget about eating there...ugh. Any organization that does such a blatant bait-and-switch in this day and age does not deserve to be in business. I would recommend staying anywhere but here OR The Isle as they are the same company. read more
