I saw the main owner Jeanie.... I was a first time customer and started a tattoo. The girl is suppose to have all this experience, but cannot shut up! I liked that it is a woman only tattoo place. She is just a slow tattooer, cannot multi task like talk & tattoo at the same time. I ended up going back & was only 1/2 the way through with 2 visits. Beautiful work by thoughtful artists. We called for walk-in appointments and got flash tattoos. They suggested we check out the styles of the tattoo artists available, and provided us links to their IG pages. At first, I was intimidated by the level of skill and detail presented, but there were simple options too. I went with a sketchbook-like drawing design rather than classic americana and really appreciated the breadth of style Lauren showed. She gave me tons or autonomy "remember, it's your body" but offered input for placement. Great instructions and communication. read more

So my friends and I went in today as a same day appointment. We are very happy that they got us in last minute but while being there we did not have a good experience. The lady tattooing us was not gentle, she was very heavy handed especially over sensitive areas. She did not consult us about our tattoos. For example she took a character out of one of my friends drawings and added color without my consent/ knowledge and as I was in so much pain I couldn't say anything. While tattooing us she made no effort to engage with us in conversation to make us feel safe and comfortable, instead she made conversation with her workers and delaying the process. On top of that the prices were outrageous. For two tiny letters my friend payed 115. I would not recommend this place. read more

I wish I could give zero stars. I got a tattoo on my wrist back around Valentine's day. I asked Jeneane for a small circular tattoo. She went way to deep which caused excessive bleeding and gouging. It took two months to heal. I attempted to call during the healing process to tell them I was worried about it being infected and that I had seriously uncomfortable scabbing and puss. The man that took my call at the desk (a slow speaker who sounds stoned) passed me to the male artist (large dude). This man got on the phone and proceeded to blame me, tell me that I needed to just "wait for it to heal", ignored my concerns and when I pressed, stating "I trying to make choices for my body because I'm concerned about the state of this tattoo and that requires I ask questions about policies, aftercare and next steps". He then accused me of "yelling" and refused to continue to speak with me. I tried to call again and ask for the manager. This time, the front desk person also accused me of yelling at the other artist. To which I inquired how he would know my tone since he wasn't listening to the call. He then stated "I have no reason to doubt him". I told him the "bro code crap didn't change the truth about the state of my wrist". He then told me to take it up with Jeneane and hung up on me. I later went back to have it looked at and fixed. Both these men were there while she tended to my tattoo stating "if all my work looked like this, I'd be out of business" and "I think I need to go much more shallow this time" and "maybe it was a red reaction and if it was, it will react again". She also gaslit me by attempting to make it my fault by using any aftercare. And at the end of the second session, could offer zero aftercare but instead criticized other after care technique by other shops. So, I left unsure of what I should do to assist it's healing. I had no red reaction the second time, pointing to the fact that this was just bad work in the first place. I didn't feel comfortable to tell her about the men and the phone fiasco because they were both there while I was getting it fixed. So I let her fix it and got out of there. I'll never go near that shop again. The men were abusive,. dismissive and unprofessional to say the least. read more

My friend and I popped in super late Saturday night for a spur-of-the-moment tattoo and they stayed open for us, charged very fair prices, and were a lot of fun. The best part of all was that they LISTENED to what we actually wanted. We went somewhere else first and he ignored us when we explained that we wanted something small. I only downloaded yelp to write this review honestly. Me and my friend had gone into Lady Luck tattoo last Thursday later in the evening. We had originally met with a lady named ALYSSA who seemed to be the most helpful and caring person on the planet. She helped us schedule and talk about the tattoo which I had brought in hand drawn and everything was going perfectly. fast forward to this morning around 1:20 am my friend who I went in with gets a text saying we need to reschedule. since this is barely on the 72 hour mark to cancel it seemed like a really big red flag to me so I messaged her about a refund on my friends deposit since she was the one who canceled and things just seemed off. Fast forward maybe ten minutes I get a call from someone and I didn't know who it was, I was in class so I left my zoom on to be able to hear both. She had called me after I sent the text and immediately came off as aggressive and unwilling to work with us I couldn't even get a word in... after SHE HUNG UP on me I sent her a text saying "due to you're unprofessionalism and aggression over the phone we will not be coming in and I will leave a review." When I tell you she responded with the most unprofessional and uncomfortable response I'm not lying. heres some things from her response "I don't need someone who won't be kind enough to mute their zoom call to answer the phone." ... "I suggest you learn some manners." .... "I don't tattoo people with attitudes" ... " And it ended with "bless you're heart." Which if you're southern you know what's up. She then continued to message my friend saying I was rude and our appointment was terminated. Professional right? At least my friend got his money back. End of story unless you're willing to be harrassed and bullied for not wanting to work with someone don't go there. She claims to have 10yrs professionalism but honestly if you want professionalism a 1st yr would be better than her. read more

From start to finish, my experience at Lady Luck has been phenomenal. I came here for my first ever tattoo and had absolutely no clue what to expect. Luckily, Isaac (my tattoo artist) and the staff here walked me through the process step by step and made sure I had a good understanding of what to expect. I had an idea for a tattoo and pitched it to Isaac. He was excited about and assured me he would come up with a badass design. Looking at his previous work, I had complete faith in him and new he would come up with something awesome. Come the day of the tattoo Isaac again was really great at walking me through the process. I felt completely relaxed the whole time and the tattoo turned out great! I didn't know what to expect when choosing my first tattoo shop, and happened to see this one while walking around. It was a little scary for me because I was visiting Oregon and if anything went wrong it was another trip to go back. THANKFULLY my friend and I met the amazing artists, that answered all our questions and concerns. After finally telling my artist, Douglas, what I really wanted he drew up a sketch and it was exactly what I had wanted. I now have four tattoos. All of them have been done by Jeanine at Lady Luck, This lady is a professional to the nth degree. Her work is high quality, vibrant and creative. The new shop is awesome and has a cool tat vibe throughout - the pink, black and mirrors are great! I recently had two tattoos done (on earth day). I had an earth with a peace sign incorporated into it and a large piece with flowers and an Aquarius symbol. It was a long session but I am ecstatic with the results. I've had horrible spider veins on my left foot for years. I'm getting married in October, and the thought of walking down the aisle with what look like bruises all over my foot was not appealing. Plus, as a recent transplant from San Diego, I was dying for some PDX ink. I really wanted a female artist this time and my Google search led me to Jeanine at Lady Luck. I really liked that she has an affinity for floral and realistic tattoos and the pics of her work were just what I had in mind. I reached out and she responded quickly. The online scheduling system made everything super easy and I was able to book the consult and session. I knew from the moment I met her that I'd love the work she'd create for me, and I did. It was definitely more intricate and larger than what I had originally envisioned, but once I saw it on my foot I knew that she knew what I needed. I also love that she's easy to talk to, which was really awesome as I was working through the pain of the tattoo on my foot! The outline was fine, but man the shading killed!! I was expecting it, though. Whatever. I LOVE my tat!! I still have to go back so she can put some color on it, but it looks gorgeous. read more

Got a tattoo from Aaron, and I have many tattoo but have never experienced such terrible service. I tried to mention how the tattoo didnt come out right and he simply stated that it was perfect and its supposed to look like that. That's terrible customer service and the tattoo looks like a child drew it. Half is going to fade completely away when it's done healing and the other half is going to scar. AND it was WAY over priced! Had to put a star to rate but would have gave 0 stars. read more

*note this review is not for the quality of artwork* I don't understand the negative "I'm too cool attitude" of tattoo shops in general. Visiting from out of town my boyfriend had looked up many places and decided on this one. He even found a guy he wanted to do it based not the work he had seen off line. We called a day before to see if said artist would be in he next day and if we needed to make an appointment. We were told he had nothing on the books so just to walk in whenever and if he had an appointment we might have to wait. We took our chances and just walked in around 1 o'clock. This is EXACTLY how the conversation went with the man at the front. boyfriend: Hi is artist name in? man at front: No silence....... boyfriend:Okay well will he be in later? man at front: *shrugs* I don't know? probably? why? silence....... by then I can tell this is not going anywhere so I step in and proceed to let him know we called yesterday and were told to walk in. man at front: are you guys his friends or something? me: no were from out of town and we loved his work online and were hoping to get something done. we were told to walk in today. man at front: well he's at home so I guess I can call him and you guys can come back maybe around 5.... Already disappointed we would be waiting not for him to finish another client but wait for him to just show up we still decided to take the appointment. We were told to email the artist a picture of what we wanted and he would get back to us with a quote. We left a 20 dollar deposit to hold the spot for 5 o'clock that the artist may or not be there for. With no response back from the artist and the man at the front basically not caring about the business he is representing the vibe was bad enough for us to forfeit the 20 dollars and cancel the appointment. It was a pretty big shame since we were excited to get work done from him. read more

Note - there new address is 611 SE Morrison Me (+2 others) decided it was finally time to take the plunge and get another tattoo. It was one of those decisions where I just wanted to do it NOW, so I didn't have time to think about wimping out. We found out about Lady Luck by driving by and thought we'd check it out. Plus, they were one of the few shops that was open later near us. It was one of those right-time-right-place situations, because two cancellations had happened so she was able to see all 3 of us as walk-ins (!) Marcii was really professional and made us all smile the entire time we got tattoos. She stayed past closing to finish up everything. It's sort of an old-school styled shop, and Marcii has been tattooing for a long time. I was amazed at the high quality work she produced and in such efficient time. Two of the three tattoos she did were from graphic novels/illustrators and she did an excellent job recreating on skin. I'd totally recommend her to anyone looking for professional tattoo artist who is has old school flair but isn't afraid to incorporate new stuff into her work. read more

Last minute decision to get a tattoo with a friend. The staff was pretty supportive with our nerves and have us a good deal since our tattoos were so small. However, the overall vibe of the staff and shop kind of gave off a "too cool" attitude and felt like they were there to work and then leave. The quality of the work was nice, considering my tattoo was very simple and overall it was an ok experience. So after years of working with an artist who I loved and did some amazing work for me, she decided it was time to take herself elsewhere in the world and moved, leaving me without an artist. I spent weeks pouring over portfolios and websites, and, on a recommendation from a friend who has work done at Lady Luck, I decided to go in and check it out. I met with Brynn and we discussed what I wanted to do. She was really up front with me about what she feels her abilities are and cost, time, etc. I decided to take the plunge and get a new tattoo with a new lady, and I am so happy I did. It turned out exactly as I wanted and she did an amazing job. The entire staff at Lady Luck is strong in their own areas. You won't regret choosing this shop for your next piece of work. They will get it done *update* I have since been working with Jeanine, and have not regretted it for a second! I needed a cover-up done, and Brynn was very up front with the fact that she did not feel comfortable in that arena, but suggested I talk to Jeanine about it. I can't believe I haven't reviewed Marcii and her Lady Luck Tattoo Studio. I mean Marcii did my first tattoo 15 years ago if not longer. And she's done my next 3 including 2 completely original art pieces. Like everyone else has commented the staff is all great, friendly, professional in a relaxed sort of way, and yes fun. They'll talk about anything from the gossip you used to hear in beauty parlors or barbershops, to sports or politics. But the main topics seem to be tattoos (duh!) and food, both of which are near and dear to my heart. Well now I've got my 5th tattoo, an original art piece by Chad that compliments an earlier tattoo by Marcii and I'm really happy with it. I've watched Jeanine work and the girls got skills. And obviously I love Marciis work and now am impressed by Chads as well. Would I take my blind 90 year old mother here...not on your friggin life! But I will recommend it to any and all who are looking for some great, quality art that you can be proud of for the rest of your life. read more

I wish I could say I had a good experience but I didnt. The owner seemed like a really nice lady and she actually did good work, which she did on my buddy, and it was a really good priduct. But this Ling haired fellow looking like curt Cobain did mine and it was an absolute disgrace. For one it was 200$ for an hour and a half l, and not to mention the infection, scabbing, and scarring and shitty tattoo that came afterwards. And he didn't even shave my whole arm! I honestly would shop around a little bit more because I'm going to have this crappy tattoo on me forever. He just did the dagger not the heart which was done 6 years ago, for comparison. I've known Marcii for years as a friend, but for some reason never had gotten a tattoo from her. So one day, while sitting at Star Bar I realized that the only thing better than my arm, was my arm with a neon buffalo on it. So I walked in and booked an appointment with Marcii at Lady Luck. I'm glad I did too, because my buffalo, now known as Gilbert Thunder Beast, turned out better than my wildest expectations. I'm sorta wishy washy when it comes to tattoos, as in, I don't care just put something permanent on me and try not to fuck it up, but those days are probably gone. This little guy is by far one of the best tattoos I have now and I'm pretty proud of him and will probably see Marcii exclusively now. Everyone at the shop is nice, helpful, and a lot of fun to hang out with while you're getting your work done. It was also a treat to be in a tattoo shop run and staffed almost entirely by women!!! Let me start off by saying just to start look around at the website for Lady Luck and you will find a site that shows just how talented this staff is. I went here after my partner and I decided to fix our tattoos. They had previously been done so poorly my red actually looked pink and the artist who did wanted to charge to redo my tat even though it had been weeks. Upon entering Lady Luck we were greated with a great staff that you could tell appreciated the art of tattoo not just the joy of being able to tat people. After a consultation with Marcii we came back and I have to say I think I have truly found an artist for life. She made us laugh and enjot the whole process and feel so comfortable. I 100% believe this place ripped us off. My friend and I decided to get matching tattoos. Very small pineapples. Easy design. Spur of the moment. This was one of the only shops in Portland opened late. So we go in and they charge us 120 dollars a piece for a small tattoo maybe the size of a quarter. Then start to tell me if I want it further down on my ankle they would charge me more. I was ready to walk when he said never mind put it where you want. They guys were nice but totally screwed us. We just really wanted the tattoos. Any artist I talk to because I get tattooed alone says they screwed us. read more
