I can't say enough good things about this piercing shop! Other shops I've gone to, both in Portland and in other towns, have made me feel rushed and slightly judged (I am an over thinker - I'll admit) but the folks here have been so incredibly wonderful to work with! I had some jewelry I didn't love that wasn't working for my ear anatomy and they really took the time to think through things with me and help me find jewelry that would help me love my piercings again! Even when they didn't offer what they thought would be best in shop, they offered suggestions of websites to look at. I ordered some pieces with them, and bought a couple online, and they were super great helping me put in the pieces that I ordered! I've been in three times now and everyone I've worked with has been so kind and so helpful. It truly is the first piercing shop that hasn't made me feel the slightest bit anxious or like I'm a bother! I will be back to them for every single piercing need I have. read more

Was nervous about getting a second piercing, and even more nervous when I saw the store front. But the service here is friendly, and you can tell the employees really take health and hygiene seriously. The person who pierced my ear was so experienced, I felt like I was in great hands. They did a great job, and I would recommend. Some things to know: * Call a week ahead to make an appt. No walk ins. * Be prepared to saline wash your ears 2-3x a day for 2 weeks. No pool/ocean for 1-2 wks. * Earrings must be purchased onsite (because they sterilize there), you cannot bring your own. read more

I had been wanting to get my ears pierced for a long time, but was dreading the pain. I made an appointment with Emily, who... was amazingly chill and didn't pressure me at all. She thoroughly reviewed the piercing process as well as all the jewelry options. With the easy conversation I almost didn't even feel my lobes. My boyfriend and I visited STTP in March so we could get his nose pierced for his birthday. I decided to get my nipples pierced again since I had let them heal and wanted to join the piercing fun. David was awesome, and I'll explain more in a bit, but this shop takes many precautions against covid including: 1) My boyfriend and I were the only clients in the entire shop at our appointment time 2) Everyone wore a mask 3) Hands were washed and gloves were changed MANY times 4) The room was disinfected before we entered My boyfriends piercing was smooth and quick- David even gave him some comfort given it was his first piercing. I passed out when the needle was sent through my scar tissue (can't avoid it sometimes!) After I came to, I was offered a CapriSun and asked whether I wanted to continue and finish the other side as well. Though there was another appointment lined up after ours, I was given time to recover and didn't feel rushed at all. It was so nice to not be rushed but also feel cared for, even after something so embarrassing! All piercings have healed very nicely with no problems or persisting pain. I will be going back for my piercings from now on! read more

Truly a superb experience from start to finish. I got a nostril piercing and my daughter had her first piercings ever. My partner and I were very impressed with the quality of the jewelry and overall vibe of the shop. They switched nose jewelry for me and pierced my partners ears. He had previously pierced ears that keloided, but they took the time and care to make sure his piercing would be successful. One of his ears swelled more, and we went back and they quickly replaced it with a longer bar and told us to come back when the swelling goes down. Excellent customer service, we'd recommend to anyone. read more

Update: They've pierced me! I'm very happy with the results. --- Original post: Here's a disclaimer before you read this review: I haven't actually had anything pierced or tatted by those working at Straight To the Point. With that being said, I did go in today asking for a professional opinion about how my double forward helix was healing. I spoke to two gentlemen at the front (whose names are currently escaping me, but I believe it was Oliver and David) who were extremely patient and reassuring. They both told me that my top piercing appeared to be "a bit angry", but it wasn't anything to worry about. After answer my many questions (e.g. "Should I use antibacterial soap to clean them" [Answer: No], "When I can go swimming?" [Answer: Clean chlorine pool should be fine, but steer clear of lakes for the first year], "Will this small bump on the inside go down if I am careful not to bump it?" [Answer: yes], etc.), they directed me to RiteAid and told me to purchase a saline wound wash. My ear was pierced by those at Robot Piercing + Tattoo, and while I'm happy with it, after speaking to these guys, I do wish that I went with them. =] read more

Services typically have a 15 min grace period because life happens but this place doesn't care and will take your money without hesitation.

She responded very quickly to my message quickly when I expressed dissatisfaction with my hair afterward, and offered to redo the color but I'd rather wait for my hair to grow out as it's several inches too short and already has layers of color in it. I arrived at 11am for an appointment that my confirmation said would last until 1:30pm and we didn't finish until 4pm. She did my cut first and then did the baby lights- they added nice color and dimension to the hair as desired. But she then did my roots and combed the color through. While my color was processing, someone arrived for a haircut and had their haircut done while my color sat. Around 45 minutes later, my color was washed out and was darker than I expected- most of the baby lights were no longer visible. She mentioned the color will fade to be lighter as expected, but the result was surprising. I also asked for 2 inches or so to be cut, and mentioned I wanted to be able to put my hair in a ponytail still. When facing the mirror, the length was going great and she showed me it could still go in a ponytail. When turned around, I lost several inches for some reason and there was no going back. She took off even more in the back, and I left unable to put my hair in a ponytail. I'm not sure if there was a miscommunication and she thought I wanted the grow out to be able to be in a ponytail, but I don't think so since she initially showed me she could put it in a ponytail. By 4pm I was tired and hungry and ready to get home- she asked if I wanted to see the hair blown out and styled which I did but just wasn't up for given the 5 hours I'd been there so I said no. There was also another person waiting for their 4pm appointment to start. When I did straighten it at home, I was surprised by my hair. I've gotten cuts that suit curly hair on many occasions and have always been able to wear the cuts straight too. This cut when straight appears uneven and choppy. The transition to the short back is awkward. She'd mentioned that at the end she'd go through and do any evening, cutting of long pieces etc needed but by then, as I'd mentioned, someone had shown up for another appointment at 4 and no additional cutting was done. I'm not sure if it was an off day, if my hair just took a few hours longer than expected or if she typically stacks appointments but things seemed rushed between the clients. I've never had someone try to do a whole haircut while dye sits on and I felt like my dye was likely left on too long due to it which resulted in the darker hair and missing baby lights. I've included pictures of my hair before the appointment length wise, what I asked for, and what I got. Given the many positive reviews, I'd say this could be chalked up to an off experience but given the starkly different results I thought it was worth sharing.

I've lived in Portland for just two years now and wanted a bridge piercing for even longer than that. I've been hesitant to find a new piercer, and I had heard about STTP from a friend. I woke up this morning, looked on yelp and city search, and they seemed to be number one. The pictures of the studio looked beautiful, and I even spoke to the owner on the phone who was knowledgeable, friendly and overall very impressive. The staff at the store are awesome as well. Nick was my piercer and he was very informative and wiling to answer my non-bridge piercing related questions and offered to help me track down a pair of 1" amber plugs. He was very focused on all aspects of the bridge piercing. The piercing is awesome and it didn't really hurt that bad. Far less than lip or nostril. They have a nice selection of jewelry, Tawapa, some local stuff and other nice things. They are a bit pricier than what I'm used to on the East Coast but the extra money is totally worth it for the immaculately clean studio, knowledgeable staff and non threatening atmosphere. I got my piercing on pride. They were really nice and professional before the piercing, but it was really fucked up. The piercing was too short, and through the thickest part of my cartilage. I had to go to a new piercing parlor for them to tell me the stuff going on with my nose was dangerously bad. The stud sunk below my skin because the swelling caused it to sink. Now I have the following: A large scar, A bad piercing, And they said "We're really sorry to hear that there were complications with your piercing! For future reference, if you have any issues we would be happy to look at what's going on and rectify the situation if you let us know what's going on at the time. We always want to make sure that our clients are happy and healing well" I know a canned response. This was a copy an paste, and they don't wanna admit they fucked up my nose. I have been going here for years. I have had a three piercings done at other places. They were done wrong, never healed and eventually had to be removed. After finding this gem I will never let anyone else ever pierce me again. They re pierced one of my piercings I had previously removed; it healed perfectly and has never had any complications, it's been over 7 years. All of their piercers are skilled and know what the are doing. Very friendly and informative, great customer service. Jenny helped me find the right size, and brought out lots of options to choose from. She was authentic, friendly, and knowledgable; and after talking to her for a while I found that the jewelry I liked was not as expensive as expected. I got my labret pierced at Straight to the Point three weeks ago, not sure what to expect. Jenni did a wonderful job. While it was not painless, the piercing was smooth, quick, and not at all aversive. The placement is flawless, and her no nonsense aftercare instructions were truly a gift. I went back today to get the bar downsized and again the procedure was quick and seamless. He then proceeded to pierce my cartilage with the round opal ring pictured. (Top) I'm not sure what angle he was looking at it from because it's so crooked! From the back, from the front. All the way around... he could have just pierced on the freckle and it would have been aligned better. This was done in May 2022 and it's not healed. Despite the recommended cleaning and maintenance there is a painful hard lump that's formed under the stud.. I was thinking about going back to have him place a shorter stud in hopes that would help the healing process but after seeing recent reviews I plan to stay as far away as possible!

I texted their number and was told they were too busy and I should try their other location. This spot is so cute and we were very excited to visit but this is not how you conduct business. Very big letdown.
