Once seated, I was greeted by a super nice gentleman who told me all about the specials, the fresh ingredients, and made me feel so welcome. I love the interior design of the dining atrium, with plenty of plants, natural light, and cool toned colours. After ordering, the food came so fast! I was excited to eat the Brisket Poached Eggs, which was absolutely the right mood for a cool morning brunch. The meat was so savoury and soft, and still makes my mouth water. When you talk about brunch in Toronto, Lady Marmalade comes up quite often as a recommendation. After my first visit, I can definitely see why. The decor was on point, the service was great and most importantly, the food was delicious! Even though I had arrived 20 minutes to closing, not once did we feel rushed or pressured to order quickly. The staff was friendly, quick and made us feel welcome the entire time. The restaurant itself was clean and modern. Not a large place, so I could understand why there would be lineups on a daily basis. I did enjoy the clean and simple decor and I felt at home here. We ordered the Crepe Croque Monsieur (x2), Huevos Rancheritos and an A.M. Poutine to share. First impression, the orders looked great but modestly sized. Let me just say looks are deceiving. The three of us struggled a bit to finish all our dishes. I was pleasantly surprised by all the flavours in each dish. The saltiness of the ham and cheese in the crepe croque monsieur was nicely balanced by the sweet crepe and light hollondaise sauce. I absolutely loved the perfectly cooked poached eggs were and I was impressed by how deep yellow the yolks were (I would assume they were fresh organic). The homefries had a kick to them and to top it all off, the ketchup was housemade! The poutine was a nice spin with their house homefries topped with lots of melted cheese curds and a miso gravy. Last but not least, the Huevos Rancheritos came out piping hot and looked deliciously fresh. The one critique I have is that something from one of the dishes left a bit of a grainy feeling in my mouth. I wasn't sure if it was the homefries and the type of potato they used or perhaps it was the gravy on the poutine. I couldn't pin it down and it did distract me from the taste a bit. Otherwise, everything was delicious. Overall, Lady Marmalade is a nice brunch place for all you brunch lovers out there. Food wise everything was delicious. We got the huevos migas and the AM poutine. We were not disappointed in our dishes at all. I loved my huevos migas - the flavour, the portions, everything. I'm not usually one to love eating the beans (don't get me wrong I eat it but don't really think it's anything special) but this one is bomb! It goes so well with the dish. My boyfriend enjoyed the poutine - he honestly couldn't complain, he had the best of all the flavours he loves (potatoes, cheese and hollandaise) He ordered the miso gravy on the side to try it as well. The place is two floors and both seem tastefully decorated. The place felt very clean and bright and had plants to liven the atmosphere. The food was delicious and so was the coffee. The special mimosa I saw at another table looked really good as well but unfortunately I didn't get to try. The servers were super friendly and will easily strike up a conversation with you. The place is cute. The restaurant is long and narrow, but with a lot of light. We went on a week day and were fortunate to get in without any wait. I ordered the Huevos Migas and my SO got the Huevos Rancheritos. The food was fresh, much more so than other brunch places we had recently eaten out. The flavors, however, were average. My Mom took me to brunch here and we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The staff were very attentive without being invasive and they food was excellent. The food was fresh, tasteful and well presented. Eggs Benedict options were amazing. The eggs! They were a deep orange; something you don't see much anymore in restaurants. Brunch in Toronto and long ass lines. Name a better duo. Friends of my wife and I said it was the "best brunch in the city" and wanted to take us. On a Sunday morning. Yeah. I usually avoid Sunday morning brunches like the plague because I'm adverse to waiting, and sure enough, our wait was almost an hour and 15 mins in freezing temperatures at about 11 am. Their waiting system could be a bit more sophisticated (i.e. name down and a phone call with a 5 minute timer to get back to the restaurant), but us and the other group of about 30-40 people waited outside in the cold and then squished up the narrow staircase to the main dining area for a table. This is the only reason I'm docking a star, so if you don't care about that or think it unreasonable as brunch waits are common, then consider this a 5 star review. The waitress in the lower dining area, Maya, was a gem. So personable and nice. She was really good with our friends' kid, also named Maya, and her service was excellent. Super fun lady. The food itself was so good. I had the pulled pork eggs Benny with double home fries (subbed more home fries for the salad because c'mon). I'm not usually a fan of citrus, but they had citrus sauteed onions on the Benny that complimented the pulled pork perfectly, which itself was flavoured with what tasted like a mild Mexican curry. It just worked all together beautifully. The home fries were standard home fries. I should've asked them to be well done as I like a little crisp, but they were tasty and potatoey. We also got the bread pudding for the table. They do different kinds based on the day I believe, and we got vanilla birthday cake. It came with maple syrup and was friggin' delightful. I would advise getting this to share. It's a large portion and it's basically like eating dessert as a meal if you get just that. Super sweet, but super yummy. I'll definitely come back. Probably on a day off or a non-peak time. I can see why people would say it's the best brunch in the city though. read more

We loved it so much that we came back the very next day & ordered the exact same thing! I had the Eggs Benedict with Spinach & he had the "Huevos Migas" (3 scrambled eggs with sausage, cheese, pico de gallo, brown rice, black beans, sour cream & organic corn chips). First time coming to Lady Marmalade and the experience we had was a good one. This is located in the heart of Leslieville and is quite the popular spot for brunch! Many Yelp reviews and Google reviews that this is a must if you're in the area and want good brunch. There is a line situation here and first-come, first-serve for a table. So line up and wait. We arrived around 11 on a week day and it wasn't super packed, but there was a small line. I think we waited about 10-15 min for a table which isn't too bad. The place is cash-only so be prepared to pay with cash. The menu offers up some traditional brunch plates, to make-your-own Bennys, and many of the items are vegetarian. I got the Moroccan Scramble but with made it vegan with tofu scramble and got an extra side of fruit. When you add in sides, drinks, etc it can get pretty pricey, but the portion size is decent and the food is filling so we left feeling satiated. Our service was pretty spot-on and we were in/out in a reasonable amount of time. I can see this place being hit or miss, but I would recommend it for people in the area! read more

Service was great, and the food was phenomenal I ordered the eggs benny with brie, avocado and bacon and lemme tell you that was the BEST eggs Benedict I've ever had. I've tried plenty to consider myself an eggs benny savant. The hollandaise was not lumpy at all and the eggs were a lovely medium doneness, which I just discovered I prefer over a runny yolk when it comes to this dish. That way, the yolk doesn't mix into the sauce and the hollandaise can really shine on its own. In this case, it really did I wish I had more. The mild avocado and brie were a welcome addition that weren't overpowered by the bacon and the side of potatoes were an excellent palate cleanser. The side salad was nothing crazy but the amazing eggs made up for it. I also ordered the house made smoothie that was just good. The space is gorgeous too! There's two floors and I was seated upstairs where there are giant windows on either end of the dining hall and more windows up above. Just imagine the lighting during the summer months. So happy we finally got the chance to try Lady Marmalade! This popular East end brunch spot used to be in Leslieville but then they ended up closing and relocating. Now they are finally done renovating their new space at Broadview and Gerrard and the place is stunning! It's quite tiny so be prepared to wait if you come during peak hours but the place is incredibly aesthetically pleasing with light wooden decor, lots of greenery and high ceilings that comes complete with a sky light. We came on a weekday and although the weather was pretty bad the place was already packed. Luckily we managed to snag some stools by the window though. Our waitress was really warm and friendly, getting us acquainted with the menu and bringing over a pitcher of water while we looked over our options. I ended up getting my usual brunch order: eggs benedict. They have a few options but I went with the pulled pork option and citrus onions since that sounded like the most interesting one. There's also the option to build your own eggs benny. My boyfriend ordered The 2 Eggs which came with eggs, sourdough toast, home fries and a salad. Bacon is extra. Although the place was really busy our orders came out fast. They were pretty large portions of food and we made quick work out of it, neatly slicing our eggs in half in search of the perfect runny yolk. They were perfectly poached. The pork was delicious, really flavourful and with a note of citrus from the onions. I also really liked the home fries which were well salted and still hot. My order also came up with a small salad which was nice since the rest of the meal was so heavy. I tried some of my boyfriend's bacon and it was a bit dry but still good. I can easily see why this spot is such a neighbourhood favourite and plan to come back to try more items on their brunch menu and for lunch as well. Quarantine Day 12: Lady Marmalade is definitely my kind of brunch place with the bounty of benedicts that they offer. I was really craving a waffle though so that's what I went with this time. I ordered off of UberEats and I think the delivery time didn't help it much because the waffle was a bit soggy by the time it arrived. I did enjoy it with the whipped cream and berry sauce but it wasn't life changing. The one thing that I loved was the mango flavoured Tonica kombucha that they carry! I've been curious about Lady Marmalade for some time now, but I am not interested in queuing for an hour. I had the opportunity to come on a Thursday morning with a friend, and yet there was still a line! Thankfully the wait was only about 20 minutes. Well... it didn't impact the wait much since the table turn over was decently quick, but does it really hurt to take names down to maintain a sequence? The Meal: Coffee was very good - no complaints. I ordered the Huevos Roncheritos (with poached eggs), and my friend ordered the Huevos Migas. I will say, the food is very good! My friend is South American, and she said it tasted home made. I feel like the Roncheritos was heavy on the beans, and I would have liked 2 eggs instead of 3, and a bit more tomato sauce. That's just my preference... the food was very good. Overall: Given the demand, I found the space to be underwhelming. Dated diner-style furniture with simple art on the wall... it looked a little lacking. I am a bit puzzled as to why there are so many people lined up outside for brunch...
