The food was amazing. The only downfall is the long wait that we experienced and I'm not speaking about 30 minutes, we waited 1 hour and 50 minutes for a table for 5. I really felt that the host could have done a better job to get us a table within the almost 2 hours. There was about (I counted) 13 tables that went in before us that came after us. Anyway, the coffee was not my cup of coffee as it was sour, very sour. All the food that we ordered was amazing, the flavour was bang out, fresh and presentation was excellent. I got the pulled pork Benny and my friend got the bacon one, both were really good and eggs were perfectly runny. Potatoes were nice and seasoned and cooked to slight crisp ones, wish they were a little more crispy but that's a personal preference. Service is pretty good and the environment is really cute! This place is located in East York with a tiny little sign, we almost missed it. We were one of the first patrons of the day which was nice not to have to wait for seating. We were quite surprised how beautiful and huge this place was. Quite deceiving when walking into the 1st floor seeming cramped, the server asked us if we wanted to be downstairs or upstairs. We opted for upstairs. Beautiful high ceilings, although narrow the natural lighting from the skylight and the decor was minimal but very calming. As mentioned, there was a long lineup to get in and in total we waited for approximately 1 hour until we were seated which detracted from the experience as it was quite cold outside that day. The food here is why we are wiling to wait an hour to experience. Our order consisted of the sweet waffles, eggs benedict (from the weekend special menu), as well as an eggs benny with cured salmon. First off, the sweet waffle was nice and light but I personally did not find it as sweet as the name would indicate. The waffle is topped off with a strawberry sauce, whipped cream and a drizzle of chocolate. Next the eggs benedicts we had were both good. The eggs are done well with that nice runny yolk and the sauces they use on the eggs benny go well with it. One thing to note which is not a negative but just something to be aware of is that the weekend special benny comes with braised beef. It was good but I found it to be a bit heavy so if you are not that hungry you might want to opt for another type of eggs benedict. One more thing, their ketchup is homemade so if you are interested in that sort of thing you might want to ask to try some. The new location has two floors. I did not see upstairs as my table was on the main floor but the place is fairly narrow. The decor though is nice and feels much brighter and cleaner than the old location. The staff here were friendly and food did not take very long to arrive. The longest part of your experience will be the wait in line to get a table if you come on a weekend. If you stand in line someone will come out to get your name. To sum it up, new and nice location, same enjoyable food (and long line up). This place is worth a visit but I might wait until it gets warmer before coming back. read more

Came early afternoon on a Monday morning and wahlaa, no wait! Was greeted by the nicest hostess and shown to a table for two on the first floor. The interior is small, but the light wood paneling and ample amount of natural light make Lady Marmalade feel much bigger! I really enjoyed their ambiance. Our waitress was super nice, and kept my coffee cup filled, which I appreciated. Their menu includes both breakfast and lunch options, and I decided to go the breakfast route. I took the Huevos Migas, which is kinda like breakfast nachos. The flavorful sausage, fluffy eggs, melted cheese, perfectly cooked rice, rich black beans, and their homemade hot sauce made for a delicious combination! Seriously, their hot sauce was amazing! Hosts and staff not willing to problem solve when an Uber was delayed for 2 of the 6 person party. This was out of our control and they knew that 6 were coming. The food was very delicious and service was fast, considering how busy they were! Eggs were perfectly cooked and the huevos migas had a great combination of all the ingredients. One of my friends was not a big fan of the salad but still found the rest of her meal delicious! The only thing that I am deducting one star for is the atmosphere of the place. Since it is quite small, it can very easily feel crowded and tight along with getting loud as well. I wish they arranged their layout a bit more differently in order to permit more space for their customers. Although the space is small, there is still some room to move things around in order to make it a bit more comfortable. 4.5 stars Lady Marmalade has been well known to me and this past Sunday, I decided to trek across all of Toronto to join the line up. Lady Marmalade has a few "oftens"... its often on the top Toronto brunch list, it often has a line up, and it is often a terrible rainy Sunday this to line up for brunch. Well after going, I do understand why it's on the top brunch list and why some people have lined up over an hour in the rain. It opens super early at 8 am and its not unusual to see the line up start before it opens. We arrived at 8:30 am and the line up was already out the door. We had about 4 groups before us and the place already packed. Service here is fairly fast to keep all the tables moving. I will say it is super family friendly as half the tables had a baby or toddler and throwing food everywhere. Kudos to the staff that patiently step aside the mess and then spend another 10 minutes after they leave to clean up everything. In addition to being family friendly, it has a very old school worn and weathered diner vibe. Don't expect visuals to be draw.. it's all about the food and quick service. The menu is concise with a lot of vegetarian offerings. As we were ordering, we saw a few plates come out and they looked quite large... and I can definitely confirm THEY'RE BIG! Moroccan Scramble - 2 eggs gently scrambled with spinach, kale, tomato, olives, and chickpeas. It also comes with 2 slices of toast, a generous side salad, and a large slice of avocado. This is one of the better egg dishes I had recently. Though it is super lightly spiced, the addition of olives helped the dish give it a punch of flavour. The eggs were gently cooked so it wasn't chewy or overcooked. They offered this as a vegetarian dish by swapping out the egg for tofu. 4.5/5 Strawberry Banana bread pudding - This was soooooo huge! It came with a small bottle of maple syrup and a fruit salad. There was two very large pieces of the bread pudding. I loved how they used real strawberries instead of jams or pre-made packaged fillings. You can taste that it is homemade because it had a slight sour note of using not quite in season local ones. It's a nice thing as the sugar overloaded fake ones dont have a real flavour other than 'sweet'. This was quite rich as the custard just soaked all the way through and made for a rich start to the day. 4.5/5 Service here is quick and attentive for clearing the plates quickly and grabbing whatever you need. I wish this was in the west end or take reservations cause i'd like to try out more of the menu. It's just too bad I have to trek across GTA here and fight through the line! read more

My server asked if I wanted any drinks, I just said water but he never gave it. I guess he assumed I would share the pitcher of water from the couple sitting beside me. The atmosphere is quite casual and a bit tight but very clean and bright. Staff was very friendly and they know the menu very well. As any good restaurant, quality here is superb, I so loved the eggs, the guacamole and the fries it was all made perfectly with a good quality ingredients. We don't tend to make it to Leslieville all that often. So it was a much delayed visit, but it had to happen and I'm glad it did. I came here around lunch time mid-week. It seemed a bit busy as it was just before winter holidays, but we only waited about 20 mins for a table (which sure beats the lineups out the door on weekends). It had been a while since I had an eggs benny, and I heard LM made a great one, so my choice was almost made for me. The Benny was delicious. Great combination of flavours, and I don't know how else to put this, but it was easy to cut through. Sometimes, cutting through a Benny can be a messy affair, okay? Layers sliding all over the place until your Benedict is just a mashed heap of its former self. Not this one. But this place has earned their way to the top to be able to say no to resos. Drink: Freshly squeezed Grapefruit Juice was not too sour/bitter. It was just right. I asked for a straw and was told they don't give them out due to consciousness of the environment. They won points. Huevos Migas: This melted in my mouth. The eggs were done so well and the right mix of sour cream, black refried beans and chips with salsa. I wasn't crazy about the rice (who eats rice for breakfast?). Ask for the house-made hot sauce. What a line up! It was awesome that we were able to line up inside through the stairwell given its getting chilly out! Food is fantastic but not epic. Got the london fog and the brie avocado eggs benedict. I admit that my fav was in Vancouver. And this didnt match up to it. Given Toronto standards though, its pretty good!!
