This place is phenomenal, we went in the afternoon to try out, they did have some sweet treats left. I got an iced vanilla latte and purchased a few pastries. They were so good! E we will hit this place back up just a little earlier in the day to take advantage of some of there other specialties. They have plenty of seating and the staff was kind. This cafe has always had a special place in my heart and I still go there and love the environment, quiches, napeleons and coffee! However, I have to say their prices have unreasonably increased! Their items are almost 50% more expensive than what it was 2 years ago and it just doesn't fit the cozy vibe of it anymore! I know everything has gotten more expensive, but the rate at which this one has, is just a bit too much! I met a friend here for a little mom's break. It is a cute bakery and coffee shop. When you first walk in, there are a few tables to sit at, and there is the pastry case where they have several yummy options. It was pretty clean and the decor was very stylish. My only complaint is there was no real "line" and we weren't sure where to go and who was first. We kind of all had to keep track of ourselves as to who came first. I can just imagine if someone wasn't honest about it, they would cut in line to order. Otherwise the food and coffee were great. I got an eclair and a Cafe Mocha, and my friend got a sandwich. We definitely enjoyed our meal. We did feel a little rushed because other people were looking for a place to sit. The white chocolate mocha was good, fruit tart was the bomb and even better than French Bakery. The croissants were a bit tough and overworked on the first day that we tried them, but they were fine in the other days that we came to try their cuisine. This place used to be great, i have been a customer since their previous location and former owner. Today my frustration just reached a different level with their staff. I have been waiting by the counter to order and i was ignored by all 3 girls behind register. One in particular was taking orders throughout the place with no consideration of who was there first, simply just talking to whomever would come closer to her. I asked her at some point if the cashier counter is no longer a place to order and she bluntly responded that they have been talking orders from everywhere in the place. That was it, no "will be with you in a min, sorry for the wait", sorry you have been waiting here for 10 min while i was servicing people coming after you, nothing...i got frustrated and left after a total of 10 waisted minutes. Last time i waited for a sandwich 20 minutes and would have been waited longer if i would not kept asking for it. Great cafe in heart of Bellevue. I came on the weekend and there was a lot of empty tables, however they were not clean. I took hot chocolate with peach tart and it was very good. I used to go to Belle Pastry when I worked in Bellevue 5 years ago. Finally returned and boy this place has gone downhill. First of all.. took like 5 minutes to get some help with my order even though no one was in line. I felt ignored and not a priority. When I finally did get helped, she wasn't fully listening to my order and I had to repeat myself 3 times. I ordered only 3 items and she couldn't get it right. I ordered my favorite cookie.. raspberry shortbread cookie. My cookie was stale and definitely tasted old and overbaked. Usually the raspberry part is chewy and fresh. Mine was rubbery & glue-like. Oh wow. So much to say about this delightful pastry place. First of all, I think the taste is more authentic European than Farine's. I would say Belle Pastry is the traditional European style bakery whereas Farine's has a bit of a modern flair. You can tell by the menu items. All the sweet pastries are wonderful but don't be fooled by their limited selection of savory pastries: spinach feta croissant, leek Parmesan croissant and ham and cheese croissant. All three are at the top of my list. I came around 9:30am in the morning for savory croissants and maybe they just came out of the oven or something but it literally tasted like a bite of Paris. This used to be our goto/ favorite shop on this Main Street area. Even when they were in their older location across the street. We used to come with my family, my mom was a fan of their bakery items. I remember getting a beautiful chocolate slippers ( shape like glass slipper from Cinderella) made out of chocolate. It was so pretty, I never ate it. Kept it pretty for a year I think.. :D and off it went in the trash. Coming here was like a fun Sunday thing. We'd always be in lines, croissants, tarts, cakes. All the excitement. Now that I've been back and several times since I live down the street, I'm not sure I'm a fan. I thought their cakes were a ok given how much competition is in the area. The first time I came here, I thought my cake was not good and stale/old but it was near closing. So I thought maybe it was my fault and I ordered badly/too late in the day. So I ordered different cake this time (and earlier in the day) and it is also old/stale and the cake is super dry. I think the frosting kept parts of it slightly moist because the cake part is two different colors with the staler part being lighter in color. I personally hate places like this that seemingly don't care about their customers at all. I don't know how old this cake is but a businesses that cares about customers should have standards and dates on their items and throw them away after a few days. Aren't there health code standards about this? I hope I didn't just eat week old/unpopular cake. $7 for a smallish slice of cake (plus tip) is a lot these days. I try to go early and get the slices fresh as I've had them later in the day before and some can get quite dry. Ordered a raspberry heart cookie with my latte today and the cookie was not edible. The raspberry filling was so dried out and old and stale that you couldn't even cut through the cookie with a knife let alone bite into it. What was worse was the attitude by the staff behind the counter. When I took it to them, the woman with a heavy accent argued that it was me and that maybe I just didn't like it. The other younger woman offered to refund or replace it with something else. So I chose an oatmeal raisin cookie which ended up as stale and gross. I had to throw it away. This pastry shop should be ashamed to serve old & stale pastries and treat customers in such a rude way. There's nothing French about this place. Belle Pastry is as adorable as it is busy; every time I venture by here it is bustling and full! The coffee and pastry scene in Bellevue is incredibly diverse and the competition is fierce. It is the *only* reason I could not give Belle the perfect and coveted 5/5 which, in my heart, it deserves. The menu is impressively diverse: sandwiches, quiches, cakes, pastries, macarons, even a croquembouche (Adriano Zumbo always comes to mind when I see that word) for special orders. The ambiance is charming and the service is always friendly! The tarts are a must have and the croissants are both delicious and buttery. If a particular bakery that I adore and love burned down tomorrow morning Belle would take top prize for croissants, but until then, I will hold back my tears and bite my lip as I mumble "second best". In all seriousness, Belle is a wonderful little cafe that has gone strong since 2003 for a reason.
