Cafe breve

Whoo whee ! This place has an awesome coffee shop/bakery vibe. This is what coffee shops used to feel like. Like community and welcoming. I ordered the breve. It was made perfectly and then bam. Some guy named Jeff took my drink because it sounded like Zach. Guess what the barista had my replacement made so fast I couldn't even blink twice. I also ordered a Marion Berry croissant but it's not photoed because I ate it before my phone had a chance to feast its 3 lenses on the beauty. Love this place. I will be back soon.

I have been to this location of The French Bakery a couple times now. This visit I got a sausage roll, and raspberry croissant. I liked both the items I got. I was there mid morning and this location was extremely busy.

Cold brew with no ice

Stopped by the mall and wanted a little pick-me-up before a mid-afternoon drive. This shop looked promising--bright, clean interior and pastries that looked super tempting in the display case. I even decided to grab a few treats for the weekend. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill pretty fast. We ordered a cold brew and asked for it with no ice (because it's already cold, right?). To my surprise, the barista charged an extra $0.50 for no ice. And when the drink came out, it wasn't even filled to the top. Seriously? Paying extra for less coffee? That just doesn't make sense. We also ordered an orange juice to-go for my friend's kid. He picked it and placed the order himself--adorable moment. But they served it in a small hot coffee cup with an open sip lid. Not exactly kid-friendly. We had to find a regular hot lid at the self-serve counter just to keep it from spilling. It honestly looked pretty silly for a kid's juice. Now, let's talk pastries. They looked beautiful in the case but didn't live up to the presentation. I got a fruit tart and a pistachio éclair. As soon as the tart was boxed up, the custard collapsed before I even picked it up. It looked nothing like what was in the display. The pistachio éclair? Big disappointment. I was excited for that nutty flavor, but I couldn't taste any pistachio at all--even with crushed nuts on top. The neon green cream had a weird artificial taste, kind of like chemical flavoring. We debated between Starbucks and this local spot, and I really wanted to support the bakery. But honestly, I regret not going to Starbucks. The cold brew lacked any real coffee flavor--it tasted flat and stale, like it had been sitting too long. I've made better cold brew at home. To top it off, the service felt cold and indifferent. The staff didn't seem to care--just took the order, called out your name, and that's it. I've worked front-of-house before, and this just didn't feel welcoming or thoughtful at all. Sadly, this was a big letdown. Between the charge for no ice, the kid-sized juice mishap, the disappointing pastries, and the "meh" customer service--I won't be coming back.

One of my favorite places to go for brunch or to take visiting friends to. Their coffee is delicious and their food is as well! I typically order a savory crepe and also their fresh baked cookies! However, all of their locations are usually very busy, and their staff is always in a rush to take your order. Not necessarily a big deal, but it does make you feel like you're being rushed. Once you get past that and find a table, you're good!

I used to really like The French Bakery at the Crossroads location, but my recent experiences have completely changed that. I place online pick-up orders, always leave a tip, yet the orders are consistently late. On my previous visit I waited over 20 minutes past the pickup time. Today, even though there was no line at all, I still waited 30 minutes. On top of that, the staples used on the paper bag cut my finger and caused bleeding. This is a serious safety issue when handling food. I have photos documenting everything. This level of service and care is unacceptable.

Mainly for the raspberry cheesecake...super rich cheesecake but didn't leave me feeling sick, perfect crust and plenty of tart raspberry jam. Tomato pesto croissant was just right and crispy. The pistachio croissant is a let down.

My family and I went to The French Bakery for pastries and coffee a couple of weekends ago. The French Bakery has two locations in Bellevue; this location is located on the outside of Crossroads Mall. The cafe itself is pretty tight with limited indoor seating and barely any outdoor seating. However, the food court in the mall usually has lots of indoor seating during non rush hours. The French Bakery has an impressive selection of pastries, cakes, cookies, sandwiches, and more. We ordered a slice of the RASPBERRY CHEESECAKE TART, the TWICE-BAKED PISTACHIO CROISSANT, and the STRAWBERRY ECLAIR. We also ordered a LATTE (20 oz). Each item was about $7, bringing our total to around $30 plus tax and tip. With limited seating, we were lucky to get seats together but ended up sitting at the inside bar counter which has about 5 seats facing a mirror. Of the pastries we tried, the STRAWBERRY ECLAIR was the best. The pastry cream wasn't too sweet and had great vanilla taste with fresh strawberries on top and sandwiched between the flaky puff pastry. It wasn't the best thing on earth, but it was the best of our selection by far. The RASPBERRY CHEESECAKE TART was just okay. You could tell it was cheesecake, but it almost tasted store bought. Lastly, the TWICE-BAKED PISTACHIO CROISSANT (the one I was most looking forward to because I absolutely love Bakery Noveau's twice baked almond croissants) was the most disappointing pastry. The croissant was impossible to cut through and tasted stale overall. It also lacked pistachio cream filling. For $7, You'd be better off getting a box of croissants from Costco. The latte was good and better than your average Starbucks latte. It was smooth and the latte art was on point. If only the pastries matched the quality of the coffee. Service was good and the cashiers are friendly, but not necessarily super knowledgeable about the pastry ingredients. It's also more of a serve your self kind of cafe where you have to pick up your own food and utensils and bus your own table though. They also gave us paper plates, which I thought was strange, considering that we were dining in and they gave us a mug for our latte. In terms of atmosphere, there were lots of crumbs on the floor and the counter hadn't been wiped either. TLDR; this is no Macrina Bakery or Bakery Nouveau (although the prices are comparable). In all honesty, the pastries from QFC next door are of equal quality for a fraction of the price. Overall: 2.75/5 for food, 3/5 for service, 3/5 for atmosphere

THIS IS WHAT A BEIGNET looks like. Hopefully you'll have this at some point. Looking for the perfect beignet on the eastside.

Have French Beignet's. No one could understand and know what a French Beinet is. They kept on pointing to a Baget! The closest thing I bought though was a Vanilla Croissants

Apricot Danish and an Americano

Incredible way to start my day. I went with the apricot danish and I'm glad I did. Hot in the middle and the delicate bread around the edges melts when you bite into it. I came in to get on my laptop and get some work done and, honestly, I'm not even upset that I wasn't able to find an outlet to plug into. Everyone behind the counter had a genuine smile on their face and the background music hit just right for it not even being 8 in the morning. Thanks guys, I'll be back

Okayish Bakery. I can't pin point what really stands out. The ambience is pretty decent and has a good sitting space. Cleanliness is above average but not top class. The desserts themselves are very average in my opinion. I don't think I ever got blown away with any dessert I tried here. Today I got Pistachio Eclairs and Tiramisu. Both very plain and cold, not at all fluffy (maybe because they were no longer fresh). Tiramisu missed the coffee kick while Pistachio Eclairs had way too strong pistachio flavor. As far as service goes very courteous and nice people. No complaints there.

Whenever I crave delicious baked treats, this French bakery is my top choice. They craft special pastries, cakes, and bread with traditional flavors. After multiple visits, I can confidently say they bake fresh daily, and I've never been disappointed. The staff is friendly, creating an inviting atmosphere. However, the bakery is often crowded, making it a bit challenging to find a seat, and it can get noisy. My favorites from this place are: Savory: 1) Veggies and Havarati Panini (Hot Grilled) 2) Jalapeno and Cream cheese croissant 3) Basil pesto and tomato croissant Sweet/ Desserts: 1) Strawberry Cream cheese danish 2) Pain Au Chocolat 3) Fresh fruit cream cheese croissant 4) Marionberry Cream Cheese croissant 5) Cream cheese danish

It's tucked away in the back area of the Crossroads plaza so you might not see it unless you are looking for it. There's plenty of parking The inside is small, maybe a few people can fit in it at a time. The owner came out to help me so I asked her what's good here. She smiled and said everything. She showed me a variety of cakes and told me her background a little I decided to go for: Chicken empanada: I told her I will heated up when I get home so she wrote the instructions on the box for me :) it was filling and flavorful. She offered me some of the pickled veggies she made and it was Delicious and she said it goes well with the empanadas. After tasting the empanada at home, I wish I got more of the pickled veggies. Berliner: this was HEAVY. I was surprised as how much it weighed. At first I thought it was kinda pricey but after holding it I can see why. The donut was sturdy but soft and there was sooo much filling in it. Not too sweet either. The cream inside was also thick so it held together really nice throughout the day Eclair - elongated version of a cream puff, very good though. Love the flavor and texture. Napoleon -- the flavor is there but I wish it was flaky. The layers have gotten soft but it was still good Overall I definitely want to come back. Everything I had was above and beyond my expectations.

I was amazed by the Panettone, and decided to get some. She was also generous with her time to tell me about the history of this bakery, and how she wanted to serve the community by honoring the Armenian and east European pastry. I was really inspired and went home with amazing bread and desserts. Will definitely come back and try more, including the Italian ice cream. Thank you, Daniela for your hospitality and inspiration!!!

Pretty solid bakery!…read more Stopped by at 10:30 on a Saturday and it was quiet! Not many people in the store which was nice. We ordered drinks on the order screens before grabbing a tray to check out the treats. They have a huge variety of items and everything is well labeled! We grabbed 6 baked items and tried ranking them but had a hard time because we enjoyed them all! We tried Bacon and cheese bread: 3/5, everything was on top, I think it would've been better with the cheese throughout and warmed Strawberry danish: 4/5! Very yummy, nice light cream and a crispy croissant Egg tart: 4/5! A little less eggy and more custardy than I thought it would be, but tasty! Sugar cream cheese bun: 4/5! My personal favorite! Crispy on the outside bread and soft on the inside, love the cream cheese Ube bread: 3/5, bread was good, but it was hollow with a light swipe of ube on the inside Hokkaido custard bun: 4/5! Super sweet but good! Almost too much custard for me, especially after 5 other treats, but would be great if this was the only one you had! The iced taro lavender latte was delicious!! I wasn't sure about the lavender on top of taro but it was a super light flavor and so good! Caffeine free The prices were great!

85 DEGREE BAKERY @ BELLEVUE…read more Parking at this location can be a bit tricky. This 85°C Bakery is located in a large plaza that's always busy, especially since it's surrounded by popular food spots and restaurants. Because of that, the area can get pretty packed, but I was still really excited to stop by this location. As soon as you walk in, the space feels very open and spacious. I loved how big it was and how many tables they had available. Most 85°C Bakery locations feel more like a grab-and-go spot, so I appreciated that this one had plenty of seating and room to hang out. They also have touchscreen kiosks where you can order drinks and other items without needing help from a staff member. We walked around and looked at all the bakery items, and I'm always a fan of their almond croissants and protein breads. The chicken Hawaiian bun is one of my favorites, and their sausage bun is also delicious it's clearly a popular item. I also ordered their sea salt coffee. If you download the 85°C Bakery app and it's your first time using it, you get a free sea salt coffee, which was a nice bonus. While the food and drinks were great, the service was unfortunately lacking. One customer was confused about her order, and a staff member rolled her eyes at her. The same staff member also rolled her eyes at me and my family while we were in line. Overall, the staff didn't seem very friendly or welcoming. There wasn't much smiling or engagement, and it felt like everyone was annoyed rather than excited to help. We also noticed staff packaging food with boxes out in the open during our visit. I personally think this is something that should be done in the back or at least behind the register, rather than directly in front of customers. Overall, the experience was decent mainly because the bakery items and drinks were fresh and delicious. However, the staff could definitely be friendlier, as customer service plays a big role in the overall experience.

The lighting inside is bright enough for all the colors on their cakes and general decor to stand out on their own; in other words, it's cutesy inside and I love it! The front has a ton of chiffon and crepe cakes in a display case, and there's also a bunch of cookies near the front as well. They also serve regular and specialty drinks, and my friend and I wanted to get some here. Staff here was quick with our orders. My friend got their assam boba milk tea, while I - in the best way yet - went overboard and got both their cream brûlée latte and their strawberry chiffon cake. - The creme brûlée latte was put in a cup where I couldn't see the inside of the drink, but it still tasted great despite it being late at night. Coffee is strong, and the crema has a sweet taste that blends well with the coffee itself without making the drink too bitter. - The strawberry chiffon cake was a lot even for the two of us to split but besides that it was not too sweet, and the sponge cake inside wasn't either. Outside filling tastes heavily of cheese, though. This particular cake has the face of Hello Kitty. From reviews and hearsay, I hear they have baking classes here which is really cool.
