I came to drop off a prepaid package for my handicapped mother right before closing. I had already let the staff know I was coming in while she was parking. The staff member seemed frustrated and closed the door right in front of my face and locked it as I approached. I understand closing times, but this was a prepaid drop-off and would have taken seconds. A more courteous and understanding attitude would be greatly appreciated, especially in situations like this. read more

I was told by notary that she was unable to notarize document in German as it was "against state law." I called the California Secretary of State Notary Public office who stated that she was completely wrong and that California notaries can notarize documents in a foreign language. I later used the notary services at the Postal Annex on Ygnacio Valley in Walnut Creek to get the documents notarized. The notary in Lafayette does not know notary law in Californi. read more

They have a small lot with an entry available on the back and front making the line situation a bit messy. However, five stars was def earned by the guy that works there. We arrived with him helping somebody already, another person in line and then a couple right after us. He did an impressive job of balancing waiting on the first woman to make decisions as he explained them to her, helping the next person quickly and getting her out the door that our anticipated long wait ended up being less than 10. We shipped a small box about 6" each side down to SoCal 2-3 days for about 20$ with packaging so not too bad. Service is doing a lot of the heavy lifting here! read more

Everything didn't go perfectly when I sent my son a package. I brought in a box with a bunch of random things he needed for school. UPS packed it up for me & shipped it off. When he received it 2 items were missing from the box. I went to UPS the next day and thanks to Asst Mgr Everett who took the time to locate the missing items over the weekend and get them shipped off today. He went above and beyond with a bunch of my wife's retail returns and patiently handled them all while I whined about such a foreign concept (I just take the loss and move on). A consistently sullen, bordering on rude, ineffective team of young people who lack maturity and any notion of customer service. They behave like they hate their jobs and hate having to work with customers. I gave them $6 cash to send a 3 page fax and because their fax machine wasn't sending the fax, they accused me of having the wrong fax number and refused to refund my $6. Kinda what you'd expect -- hit or miss service but they do get your stuff shipped. Not a place to go for packing supplies, they stock the bare bones. A few bubble pak envelope sizes and maybe some pens. You can park for free in the Wells Fargo lot behind the store. Business customer service: I sent an email to you days ago after you recommended here . I haven't heard anything back from you!! I would like to support local businesses but I had a very bad experience with UPS that I would like to share. I tried to sent a document to France from Lafayette store on a Friday for an emergency situation. I was told by the clerk it will arrive on Monday at noon and the fee is $101.16. I said this is very important to me and if you are sure it will arrive on Monday, I am fine to pay. The clerk confirmed it one more time. The document did not arrive till Tuesday and the passenger who was waiting for this package already left the country. So,we had to pay another fee to ship that document to the destination . Mailing a letter expedite vs regular could cost me way less than what I paid. I sent multiple emails to the store but they don't take responsibility. They keep repeating that the delay was due to a security check and they can't do anything!! The clerk checked their system multiple times and I was sure of the service. It was a very frustrating and unpleasant experience. Definitely using FedEx or DHL for international services and staying away from UPS as much as possible. read more

This is about Chris. He was unhelpful and rude. When I entered Chano was helping one other customer with a fax, Chris was alone behind the desk. I asked Chris if could send the fax so Chano, the only notary, could help since Chano was taking a long timer with the fax since the line was busy (correctly helping that customer). At the time Chris had just sitting there doing nothing and looking at his phone behind the desk. Chris said I could go to a different store if I wanted another notary. Said he didn't know how to take over sending a fax from Chano, and since Chano started the job, Chano needed to finish it. Not know how to send a fax? The team was so helpful. I went to print flyers for my business and had a very complicated request. I needed Brochures. Chano was able to convert my computer files to awesome Brochures. I was in desperate need to get my business started and they went above and beyond to assist me with the process. I needed 100 Brochures printed and was assisted with smiles on faces and a helpful attitudes. Best UPS experience ever. Plus, after I accidentally left my computer, Chano gave me a call letting me know that I had left my laptop. He brought it home with him at my request and met me at the local grocery store to return it to me. That was so nice of him to return my expensive computer. Very practical location with a non-metered private car park at the rear of the store. It is located just off mount Diablo blvd. in store you get your usually super useful UPS store plus the great advice from two guys who clearly know their packages. I didn't rate a one star because each time I've came in, the gentlemen behind the counter were friendly and superb. The low rating is due to the lady there named Katherine, & it was my first experience there for the live scan service. I've done live-scan elsewhere, so I'm mostly familiar with it. I gave her a form and was unsure of a portion so I simply asked, "I believe the bottom portion of is for you to fill out, right?" And she replied with the WORST possible attitude, "Yes I know, this is NOT my first time doing it." ...I informed her I was asking because I was not sure myself. She was incredibly rude and I felt an instant negative vibe from there on out. Very unapproachable with even the simplest of questions. She had zero class.. I work in customer service, & I've never found it necessary to be that rude and snarky to someone that was not too familiar with a process.. it's evidently part of the job description to alleviate any potential questions a customer may have, right? On top of that, her cell phone was going off the hook & decided to pick up amidst checking me out for the transaction. She was arguing with someone over the phone for a personal issue.. like a full blown conversation. HAH, I've never seen anything like it.. where did they find her I have no clue.
