I appreciated that they had sports on large screens. We came here with no reservation but had no issue being seated. Our servers were quick and attentive. I ordered the Jollof rice with beef and my friend got the red stew. Unfortunately we both had mixed feelings about our meal. For starters, my Jollof rice was great however I thought the beef would be mixed in. It was spicy with it getting spicier with each bite. Regardless it was very expensive for the little bit of rice you get. You have to order one of additional sides to make it worth it. Unfortunately that just drives the price up. The beef was good and tender but nothing special. There wasn't anything unique about it that stood out to me. Similarly my friend was also got the same beef dish and felt the same. Speaking of, she got the Red Stew and was underwhelmed. It felt more like a spicy sauce than a stew. You could eat it with a fork. She also wasn't much of a fan of the rice but admitted she had a personal preference for sticky rice. The beef was also outside of the "stew". In the end, we both enjoyed our meals and had leftovers to take home. The food for all of my complaints was good. Even she thought so but just wasn't special. Made me instead want to bring her to a different African restaurant in the future. I would this place is great as a lounge with solid food. For my drink, I ordered ikoyi frose which was very sweet and sugary but still pretty strong for a frozen drink. For food, we ordered the asun tacos. I thought they would've been soft tortillas but they actually are crispy/hard shell. Usually not my preference but it actually paired really well! I'm went to Lagos TSQ on a recommendation from a friend and I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. The restaurant was beautiful, the music was good, and the food was great. I sat at the bar and ordered a drink along with jollof rice with chicken and my meal didn't disappoint. The restaurant is right by Times Square and easy to get to which is a plus. I went to Lagos last night. I made reservations although they do accept walkins. This restaurant exceeded my expectations. This spot was stunning. It has two levels.I love the decor, it was so luxurious and charming. I love the soft cushion chairs with gold trimming and the gold silverware was stunning. From the time I walked in the hosts were warm and friendly. My friend and I choose to sit downstairs. As I sat I was at awe and blown away by the beauty of the restaurant. Our waitress Rawan was fantastic. She was sweet, friendly and really knew the menu and gave excellent recommendations. We ordered two Lychee Martinis from the happy hour menu. The Lychee Martini had house vodka, lychee puree, cream of coconut and elder flower liqueur. In addition to the drinks, I also ordered the beef sliders from the happy hour menu too. The beef sliders came with american cheese, sauteed onions and spicy mayo. The sliders were so delicious. From the caramelized onions and the perfectly cooked burger on a sweet roll and the cheese was just another touch added to the burger. Who doesn't like a slider with cheese. Some of the best beef sliders I have ever had. The first bit was amazing that I wanted to savor every bit. My friend ordered another Lychee Martini while I ordered Lekki Margarita with Coconut flavor. Rawan our waitress, recommended this drink and I see why. It was a decadent, rich and balanced Martini with Tamarind on the rim. So good I ordered another one and my friend joined me too. We were in love with the drinks. We did ordered more food. I ordered Mac and cheese with crab meat and BBQ wings. The Mac and cheese came in a cast iron pan. That Mac and cheese was cheesy and flavorful. It was cooked perfectly. The wings were good too. My friend ordered Jollof Rice, slow cooked one-pot rice, tomatoes, red bell pepper, scotch bonnet and ginger with Goat meat. The Goat meat was nice and tender. The Jollof Rice was full of bold, spicy, tasteful flavor. She also ordered Calamari which came with red stew aioli, spicy mayo. This restaurant hands down capture the Caribbean but most of all the African favors and spices. I was very impressed with the presentation and execution of the dishes. The fries were warm & basic with the little suya seasoning. My friend had a burger with an oddly pale bun that he said tasted like a sweet dinner roll. Maybe it's a special type. Meh... solid 3. Service is where things get a wonky. 20% gratuity is automatically added to your bill, so it seems there is no incentive for personable or prompt service. Waiting 35 minutes for water, an additional 30 for non-alcoholic bevs and 35 more minutes on top of that for... a burger, fries, and plantains is wild. The contradicting statements, menus & prices were off putting, resulting in half our party canceling. Be prepared to yell the entire time with the music blasting on the top floor. On Saturday night 7/25/26, going into Sunday 7/26/26 morning around 3:30am, I arrived at Lagos expecting a quick drink at the bar. They advertised it closes 4:00 am however, it was a full house at 4:00am. To paint the picture, I walked in with my cousin and her friend. Before our purses were down, the woman bartender seemed to be in a rush to get our drink orders and did not welcome us with any kindness. We decided to stay because we were under the expression that since it was close to closing in 30 minutes, she needs to hurry and take our orders, despite her being unwelcoming. We all initially requested a mixed drink. The bartender with attitude and aggression she said no mixed drinks, just shots. My cousin then did not order anything because a shot would be too strong for her. My cousin friend and I then ordered two shots but, we should have asked for the price first because the shot of vodka was $30. I never in my life paid that much, once we found out the price, we no longer wanted the shot. We denied the shot but, the bartender said we can't do that, so we paid. People started to come into Lagos after us and to our surprise, were ordering mixed drinks. We physically saw the bartender make around 10 mixed drinks for others that casually came in closer to 4am. I then asked another bartender guy, were they not doing mixed drinks anymore because we were pressured into only ordering a shot, and he replied to me and said it's "Lagos night". It didn't directly answer the question but clearly the woman bartender lied about no being to be able to take a mixed drink order. She never again came to the side of the bar we were at again as if she was avoiding us. We all felt she discriminated with us for some apparent reason. My cousin didn't have anything which ruined her mood, and her friend and I mood was ruined because we paid for an overpriced shot when we could have order something we actually preferred. They had 2 djs spinning and even had dancers and photographers coming around. They also offered us hookah. It was too loud for our tastes, but we are older and were really looking forward to catching up with each other. We ended up shouting the whole time. I visited Lagos this past sunday 4/12/26 for a friend's birthday brunch. We were seated for our reservation on time, and the staff were friendly and accommodating upon atrival. The flow of customers was consistent but I would not say it was packed. There was one large party that left and one that arrived while we were there. Our reservation was for 2:15, so quite a bit earlier than the brunch rush. We were seated in a booth across from the bar. Unfortunately when my table's food arrived mine did not. The waitress brought the food out in two rounds back to back as it was a party of 7. She never acknowledged that my dish was missing but when she came back around I reminded her thinking maybe she forgot. She replied that she was aware and notified the kitchen. She continued to make her rounds, dropped food off at other tables and chit chatted with co workers. I continued to look around and she didn't appear to have any urgency regarding the fact that my dish was still missing. Eventually when she came over to our table after approximately 15-20 minutes of waiting, I inquired about my shrimp and grits again to which she apologized stating although she had notified the kitchen it was held up due to another large party upstairs. I remarked that this was unacceptable as that would have held up our entire order, not just mine. She kind of shrugged her shoulders and sort of implied there was nothing she could do. Although she was not rude she was a bit dismissive about the whole thing. At that point my party was nearly done with their food and I told her to forget the dish and please remove it from the bill. She said ok and immediately left, offered no resolution, never offerred to go check in and see how much longer, maybe there was an appetizer or something that can be brought out quickly she could have offerred...nothing. She returned a while later to confirm she took it off the bill and it was all set. Unfortunately, I was not all set and for this reason won't be returning I tried a piece of a slider and some jollof rice from one of my friend's plates and what I could taste of the food it was good. The worst service I ever received at a restaurant. I went here for my birthday on 2/12 and I would not recommend this place to anyone. We waited forever to be seated and another forever to be serviced. The waiter was rude and unprofessional from the moment he came to our table. From cussing, to sitting down at the table with us, to complaining about his job, the entire experience was unprofessional. Once he finally took our orders, water was brought to our table about 30 minutes after us already sitting there. The food was dry, cold and my order was incomplete. The waiter never attempted to fix this or check on our group, I had to go to the bar to fix my own order. The photographer was also very rude and made several smart remarks to my group which was all women. He snatched photos from my friend's hands, invaded our personal space and got into an argument with another friend of mine. He then proceeded to send me a nasty email refusing to send the photos I paid for. So ever since 2018 I've been coming to this location that used to be called Tonic. Which was literally the best bar in time square, hadn't be back since covid and saw it opened up under a different name so I decided to try it out because nostalgia obviously and let me tell you, what a bummer. Management has no idea what they are doing, they charged me the wrong bill and instead of apologizing for their mistake, they were extremely rude like if it was our fault. My friend had a couple shots so they thought they could try to get away with it and when they realized they couldn't they proceed to call security and escort us out after they threatened to call the police if we didn't pay our own tab on top of the tab they had us pay that wasn't ours. The bartender threatened to throw a bottle at my friends head his exact words were "would I be an asshole if I threw this bottle at her head, I'm a grown ass man" these new people have no sense of hospitality and I would certainly never come here again. I knew it was going to be a problem when I was skipped 3 times in karaoke but didn't think it would escalate to the point that I had to write a review towards a place I loved for years. read more
