I continued to look around and she didn't appear to have any urgency regarding the fact that my dish was still missing. Eventually when she came over to our table after approximately 15-20 minutes of waiting, I inquired about my shrimp and grits again to which she apologized stating although she had notified the kitchen it was held up due to another large party upstairs. I remarked that this was unacceptable as that would have held up our entire order, not just mine. She kind of shrugged her shoulders and sort of implied there was nothing she could do. Although she was not rude she was a bit dismissive about the whole thing. At that point my party was nearly done with their food and I told her to forget the dish and please remove it from the bill. She said ok and immediately left, offered no resolution, never offerred to go check in and see how much longer, maybe there was an appetizer or something that can be brought out quickly she could have offerred...nothing. She returned a while later to confirm she took it off the bill and it was all set. Unfortunately, I was not all set and for this reason won't be returning I tried a piece of a slider and some jollof rice from one of my friend's plates and what I could taste of the food it was good. The worst service I ever received at a restaurant. I went here for my birthday on 2/12 and I would not recommend this place to anyone. We waited forever to be seated and another forever to be serviced. The waiter was rude and unprofessional from the moment he came to our table. From cussing, to sitting down at the table with us, to complaining about his job, the entire experience was unprofessional. Once he finally took our orders, water was brought to our table about 30 minutes after us already sitting there. The food was dry, cold and my order was incomplete. The waiter never attempted to fix this or check on our group, I had to go to the bar to fix my own order. The photographer was also very rude and made several smart remarks to my group which was all women. He snatched photos from my friend's hands, invaded our personal space and got into an argument with another friend of mine. I've really sampled the menu so I could give a fair assessment: red stew with fish, jollof rice, moi-moi, akara, rasta pasta, ewa agoyin, mac & cheese, fried rice with fish, yam fries, sweet mashed potatoes, red snapper and salmon. The food ranges from good to just ok. Having had many meals in Lagos, Nigeria I was anticipating the dishes would have more seasoning and be a bit spicier. Be mindful that although there's an upstairs, seating in general is kind of tight and the music becomes increasingly louder as the night progresses. This interferes with having conversations. The protocol of giving "Credit"!! I had a brunch for 30 people this past mother's day for my mom who's health was rapidly deteriorating. 4 people didn't show up from the 30 and was told I could get credit for it by coming back during their "Brunch" time on the weekends.I tried for awhile to touch base w/ the event coordinator who had helped me and she never responded! And because the 4th person couldn't make it, I asked for a jollof/ goat to go, Imagine my chagrin when I reheated it this evening and tasted to find it inedible!! Not only was this rice burnt, but it had a perfume/chemical taste!!!!! As you can imagine we had to throw it out!!! And they also didn't give me the dessert that was supposed to come w/ it!!! I wasn't going to complain, BUT I feel this was a slap in the face when I showed patience, consideration and kept my cool to be given a subpar service!!! NOT COOL!!
