honestly at first glance it does look like they use fresh products and fresh meat as they even have fresh uncooked meat in their display case . however when people grabbed their meals and passed me i just noticed an average burger . First time at Dr. Field Goods. I had the green chili burger which was very good. Green chili aioli and fresh green chilies on top of the cheeseburger. The meat was ground perfectly and stayed tender with a nice sear from the griddle. I remember this guy's restaurant in corrales, New Mexico. It had an excellent cocktails and a wonderful green chili stew. He moved his operations up to Santa Fe and had subsequently opened Dr Field Goods here in Albuquerque at The Sawmill district. I ordered the classic hamburger with green chili. It is a good hamburger, the bonus tested, it looks like it's pretzel Style. The green chile was spicy and had a thing to it. The meat and salted and the vegetables were an excellent shape. The price is in horrible shape, $14.50 for the classic burger, $1 for the green chili, $4 if you want half a pound of fries. So for $14.50 you only get a 6 oz hamburger, however it is excellent, on the pricey side, definitely! To be quite honest, everything in the Sawmill market is overpriced. The Ambiance is excellent, on the options of our killer. He visit Spain or get an excellent cup of coffee. But the price of admittance in this place is rather High. read more

My husband and I when we can't agree on what to eat we order from different places. We have enjoyed the sawmill malarkey experience in the past and I ordered the blue burger with fries and drinks. The burger itself is a different cost from the drink and fries. They was no line when we ordered but it took them about 15 minutes for them make it. According to my husband who was starving it was the most delicious burger he had ever tasted and it was too good to wait to have a picture take of it. DFG is located in The Sawmill. Instead of getting a buzzer/pager after ordering, they text you, which is convenient. I got a BBQ pulled pork sandwich, which comes with "house smoked local pulled pork, house made BBQ, pickles, & red onions". The BBQ pulled pork has changed from pictures of the menu in reviews from about a year ago. It used to be described as, "fresh ground Kyzer Farm pork, mixed w/ BBQ rub, grilled w/ pickled jalapeños coleslaw". I ordered extra BBQ sauce on my sandwich, which the cashier confirmed, but they forgot it. I additionally paid for a side of BBQ sauce in addition to the extra I ordered on my sandwich in anticipation of them forgetting it. In the two minutes walking from picking up our sandwich to our seat, the bottom bun became completely soggy from liquid from the meat, which pooled at the bottom of basket. It was much, much too wet for the sandwich to hold form. When I picked up the sandwich it started to fall apart, so I ate it with a fork and knife. I very much enjoyed the sandwich once I added the extra BBQ sauce. On taste alone, I'd likely give 5/5 in ratings of pulled pork sandwiches, but DFG ignored my request for extra BBQ sauce on the sandwich, I wouldn't have enjoyed it half as much without the extra sauce, the bun was too soaked to eat properly even with being toasted, and the meat was very wet since the meat hadn't been drained. Get ready to eat your sandwich with cutlery and have your condiment selections ignored. DFG might be better with customizations at other locations, but at this location they don't seem to care. read more

The girl at the register took my number to text me when my order was ready, but 10, 15, 20, 25 minutes went by with no text. I walked up and my order was sitting there for 10 minutes already. POTATOES! Literally my favorite thing at this restaurant is potatoes and I will go to Sawmill just for them! This time, my boyfriend and I got their large Seasoned Field Good Bravas and a large order of New Mexico Bravas with green chile. They did not disappoint! I'm a little surprised that this place isn't swimming in reviews because it is SO good! My boyfriend got the skinny green Chile cheeseburger and honestly after a bite I was kicking myself that I didn't order one. The tomato really balanced out the Chile and cheese, giving it a pop of fresh sweet flavor. I got the new Mexico hot dog and it was tasty- smothered in green Chile and queso. The green Chile is the type I always hope to see when my food comes out - fire roasted and looks hand peeled. The bun still remained toasty even under the generous amount of toppings. You'll find nothing flamboyant in their seasoning because like any self-respecting fry cook should, they let the meat speak for itself; salt and pepper perfectly perforate these patties! Ok I went again and got a non-queso burger. This is the best burger I've had on my roadtrip, and maybe the best of all time. Just incredible. I will be thinking about it for many moons. This is the former review, kept because everything I said in this piece is still painfully true: Man, these mfs really got me riled up. I got a queso burger, which in their defense is billed as "smothered in queso", so one reading of this review is that I am a dipshit and the restaurant is fine. The other reading is that I was served an absolutely delicious burger so drowned in queso that the bottom bun had nearly disintegrated and was too hot to touch. It was good! It was really good! The flavors were excellent and it was cooked wonderfully. But the disgusting and sloppy serving seemed arrogant and disrespectful. The burger was such a nasty mess and the queso so thick and sticky that it clung to my fingers, the napkins, everything, and essentially required two both hands to manage to avoid structural collapse. So you're stuck eating this rapidly disintegrating and piping hot burger, infecting your hands with cheese that will happily spread to anything you touch. Do you want to do something while you eat this burger? Phonecall? Read a book? Sorry, there's cheese all over it now. It essentially forces you to scarf the burger down super fast so you can clean your hands, and doesn't allow to savor the meal. Add on that it is served very hot and it is not a good time. Went on Monday night. Business was not crazy busy. I bought the queso burger and seasoned fries. They asked for my phone number to message me when my order was ready. I went back to my table and waited for a text. After my entire family received their food from other vendors I decided to go up and ask if my order was ready. The sever asked for my last four digits and I told him that they never texted me. He handed me the tray and said "I'm sorry I forgot to text you." I took my burger and it was completely cold as were the fries. I lifted the patty up and the bun was so soggy from sitting there. I took the food up and told them I wasn't going to eat it because it was cold and soggy.
