Great pet spa! Tucked into a strip mall in Laguna hills between a 7-Eleven and a donut shop. This place is really good. My dog is a terror when she goes to a groomer in that she wants to bite everybody including me! This trip was no different. However, once I did the handoff to the ladies there, they did a great job. After the grooming they mentioned that she was very sweet and let them do all the grooming and bathing necessary including clipping her nails which she never lets a groomer do. And the best part about this place is the price for a full grooming and bath. It was $105. This is my new go-to place for my terrorizing little dog! read more

Took my dog here I had an appointment with a specific groomer and right before I got to the parking lot they called me telling me the groomer called in sick this morning so if I don't mind that another groomer will take care of him ( a minute before my appointment ) When I picked him up I notice that he wasn't really groomed but I still picked up because I was in a hurry to go back to work! I called them and spoke to Paulina the lady that groomed him and now shes telling me because his a senior and have few growth on his skin she only cut a 1/4"!!!! 1/4" come on who takes his dog and pay $125 for a 1/4"!!!!!!!!! I've been holding off on bringing my dog to a groomer because you always hear traumatizing stories about how the animals are abused at certain facilities or forced to be groomed.. The first thing that caught my eye when filling out the paper work was there was a highlighted section in all caps that stated NO FORCED grooming. When it was time to drop off my dog - he was greeted with a smile & reassurance that he was safe & the stylist even reassured me with out me having to ask that they will take it at his pace & give him brakes as needed. They also told me that they will text me updates if things were not going well & if I didn't hear from them then everything is good. (: ** Side note I was super nervous & even cried when I left.** Pick up time was AMAZING puppy was happy! Took our mini doodle for the spa package. She waddled right up to the front podium where we checked her and she was immediately greeted with warm and welcoming arms. They made sure to gather her information, any requests we had, (dog willing ) and quickly escorted her back. They were friendly and reiterated that they were a "no force" pet grooming facility. We were pleased to hear this, as we prefer positive reinforcement and rewards over punishment. Upon leaving we got our estimated price and estimated time away from our fur child. *5 hours isn't long enough... I mean we were delighted the process went smoothly and was on schedule based on their estimates. Services: we had the full spa package done (meaning they covered everything from brushing/trimming to her ultimate shave. They do the booty work and trim, clip the nails, bathe, dry, and brush the teeth) they tried. But their "experienced" doodle specific groomer let us know that our doggo got too distracted to evenly cut her fur. They even told us that to fix their uneven cutting, we should bring her in on a specific day before opening so that they didn't have to deal with her being distracted by other activities going on. This is the first complaint in 5 years of consistent grooming that anyone has told us our dog is too high maintenance. We both regularly brunch her and with treats or lots of pets and love, she tolerated it well. Pricing: reasonable. I wouldn't say they're the cheapest place in the area, but they offer maintenance packages where they do touch ups, baths, and trims sporadically over the months and then have a full reset and spa day every other month. So depending on if you regularly plan to bring your dog in vs shaving and deep cleaning them a few times a year will determine the pricing. Overall, walking in, it felt like I was walking into a target decorated space with cute quotes and decor. Everything was fairly clean from what we saw and people were professional. Our dog came home clean, but was uneven- parts left matted, others shaved down to skin. We just wanted her clean, even and happy which was our main goal. She was nicked in her armpit, ears, and a few other intimate locations. Maybe a bad grooming day? Who knows. But I'd definitely ask them not to shave too close to skin if you are planning on trying them out. read more

My husband just brought back our husky and she is still wet and now smells like wet dog after one hour of her being there. This isn't the first time we've been disappointed with Judi's which has now increased their price from $55 to $65. We thought maybe this was a fluke when she was groomed and her nails weren't clipped two months ago and the time before that but to be charged more when clearly she was rushed in and out before the job is done (2pm appointment which is the last of the day on a Saturday) is not excusable anymore. We've been going Judi's for almost ten years when my mom brought our Pomeranians but I'm just perplexed at how the quality has turned out to be so terrible. When I made sure to text them when my husband brought a smelly wet dog home they said that the groomer was going to call me when they got home....? For what purpose might I ask? If they knew they did a bad job then why would they take our cash (they only accept cash) before my husband left with her? I also had to call twice and text twice to get a text back maybe a week later. We were trying to support our local businesses and now she's saying that's why we didn't get a text back in a week. We thought they might have gone out of business! She also mentioned that she got us in quickly because my mom was a VIP or else there would have been three month waiting period... well some VIP treatment that is! Then I take him to get the service done and return to pickup and a lady name Paula changes the price even though I had a card with me with the price on it. Didn't want to argue so I paid. Very disappointed and feel ripped off! We took our dog here on a recommendation from a friend. We dropped our dog and was called 2-3 hours later to retrieve him. I paid and tipped them and waited for them to bring out my dog. When they handed me my dog, AFTER I PAID, they then tell me that they couldn't groom him because he was too scared (not aggressive but scared and whimpering). They had barely brushed him. Not sure why they didn't call me and inform me of this (that they couldn't groom him) when they claimed he was ready. I'm disappointed that they charged me full price/$60 plus I gave a $10 tip for a groom that didn't happen. I would have still paid for their time had they been honest. But now feel compelled to warn others to be sure you are getting the service you are charged for. read more

I was incredibly skeptical to come here because of the reviews I have read but upon hearing from a friend that this place was great I decided to give them a try. My Anook has had grooming before but had a terrible experience at PetSmart so he becomes a bit nervous. I honestly did not like that he was put in a kennel but when I voiced my concerns the groomer immediately started on him and got him done within 2 hours. (PetSmart would take 4-6) I am incredibly happy with his coat, amazingly soft and clean, his teeth are white and his nails are clipped. I did pay $80 which I do believe is a bit pricey but it is well worth it. He responded positively to the groomer and they were all very professional. Just this morning they were dragging my Golden Retriever inside by her neck with a slip leash choking her. NEVER COMING BACK! I am so mad with the service I was given. My golden doodle didn't get his ears cleaned. And my golden retrievers nails were cut too short and they cut the quick. The first time I went to this business they did a great job on my Husky. I recently went back with my Husky and my other dog and they did such a terrible job, I don't even think they did anything to my Husky. The cut job they did on my other dog was absolutely ridiculous and uneven everywhere. They did not trim either dogs nails. They also didn't trim around my husky's legs and butt area like they did in the past and which I requested and I doubt they deshedded or bathed him either. They definitely overbooked that day, at my appointment there were 3 other dogs coming in at the same time! I was also charged a ridiculous amount that came out to over $200 when the first time I came in it was only around $70 for the Husky alone. I will definitely never be back here, the lack of professionalism and consistency is terrible. If you want your dog to get properly groomed, go elsewhere. read more

My mother had an appointment last Saturday and the groomer had an emergency. Understanding, my mother made another appointment for today and no one was there. The shop appeared closed, but told my mother that they would be closed labor but open Saturday. I took my Bernese Mountain Dog to them to clean him up. He had especially long hair in excess to 8" long. He's a big boy 150Lbs. They trimmed him with a long buzz. They did a wonderful job. He looks like a puppy again and he is nearly 6 years old. With so much hair they did a fantastic job. He is even looking and now neat and clean. A bit on the pricey side but the care and time given was well worth the extra $'s. Remember you are working with trained experienced people. This is not big-lots for your animals. My dog was treated well while he was in their care. Looked so good Im taking my second dog there for the same hair cut. Nice work and very pleasant to deal with. I have never owned a dog that required haircuts before and was very nervous to trust my dog with anyone. So, I looked around for dogs with good haircuts and asked the owners where they get their dog groomed; three people recommended Laguna Pet Spa. My dog is a 7 year old little Maltese mix that I just adopted three months ago. He hates it when I try to brush the hair on his face and chin, and even bites the brush. I was afraid no groomer would want to groom him for fear of being bitten. I called Laguna Pet Spa yesterday afternoon and told the very patient young lady my concerns. She was exceptionally sweet and understanding and put my mind at ease by letting me know that they are used to handling all types of dogs and that my baby would be alright. I took Winston in this morning and the same young lady I had spoken to yesterday was there to greet us and check Winston in. She was so sweet and gentle with Winston; I loved it and actually felt safe enough that I left him there (I was planning on sitting in the waiting room for the 2 hours it would take to groom him). She called me an hour forty five minutes later to let me know my baby was ready. when she brought him out, I was so pleased to see how cute he looked, not to mention how happy he seemed to be with her. He was extremely comfortable in the waiting area, not trying to get out, he even went back to visit her one more time before we left. I first took our MIniature Pinscher for teeth cleaning. I had little hope that something less of surgery would help her teeth but I thought to give the anesthesia free cleaning a shot. I was pleasantly SHOCKED to see how great her teeth turned out... they looked perfect !!! I was so pleased that I subsequently took my pittie and like before they did a great job. In regards to the staff they were both very professional and very sweet and caring of not only my dogs but all others I saw them interact with. I would DEFINITELY recommend this place. read more

I have been going to Judys Laguna Pet Spa for over 18 years with my precious babies. I'm shocked by some of these reviews because I've always received impeccable service. My dogs run in there and come out looking adorable and happy. They are loving and caring and very detailed oriented. They inspect your pet while it's there and will bring to your attention any skin or health problem they notice. This is very important so things can get taken care of by the vet right away. They also groomed two of my previous dogs, Bubbles and Ginger, who lived to be 15 and 17 years old. They treated them with such love and compassion, I knew my elderly dogs were safe and loved here!!!! I was referred to them by a neighbor. I went there the first time and showed them a pic of exactly how I wanted my dog. I always want my dog to have a round face and to look like a teddy bear. First time they did a great job, but the second time, I told them to go a bit shorter than first time and showed them the pic again, but when I picked up my dog, she looked completely different!! Her hair was super short, her ears were tiny and her face was long....I was in complete shock because my dog looked like a boy. I called them back and they said that they were closed and someone would get back to me. I haven't heard back from them since. The place is way too busy and they never call back. Another thing I don't like is that everything is super hidden in the back with doors, there is no way you can see your pet when the services are being done. At petsmart, everything is clear with glass so that you can view your pet. My dog is always super upset and quiet when I pick her up, at least for an entire week, she acts out of the norm. I think the lady that does the haircut for my dog is Paula, she always has an attitude and she's not that friendly....something about this place just seems off, I don't like it. After reading some of the previous 1 star reviews, I had to believe that they must of confused Judi's Laguna Pet Spa with a different place. I just moved down to the area 8 months ago and tried several groomers for my Maltese. The results ran the spectrum of "just okay" to "butchered"! We've gone to Judi's 3 times now and the results have always been fantastic! They are loving, friendly, courteous, and have always done a great job. In fact, I have to say that our dog has NEVER had a better cut. To say the least, we are now spoiled and would never consider even thinking about going anywhere else. Plus, I love that they do so much thru their non profit for the animals who are trapped during disasters. They go and rescue pets and keep them safe while the owners are suffering. Dear Ana. As the owner of Laguna Hills Pet Spa, I am leaving this yelp review for you to explain to you the POOR Customer Service today, performed by one of your UNPROFESSIONAL groomers Paula. This event occurred around 3:30 after I had picked up my dog MOJO and expressed my dissatisfaction with my dogs hair cut. Paula was abrasive, did not apologize for how unsatisfied I was and spoke very loud and angry towards me. She failed to listen to my concern and immediatly gave me an excuse as to why Mojo's hair was cut around the head was way too short. Delilah was so kind to fix Mojo's tail and clean up the edges of Mojo's hair around his face. However, I let her know I truly was unsatisfied and wanted to get a refund or a discount. Paula yelled and stormed to the back and said "she is not getting a refund." I was quite surprised as how Paula handled herself and couldn't comprehend why she was so upset. Paula usually does not cut Mojo's hair, Delilah does. But even though Delilah took Mojo from me this morning, I did not think that someone else was going to be cutting Mojo's hair. Let alone be in this situation i am right now. An unsatisfied customer. As I was speaking to Delilah and asking her why she couldn't contact you(ana) to see what we can do, Paula kept coming back and continuing to be abrasive after I asked her to not speak to me due to her abrasiveness. Paula put everyone in an uncomfortable situation that could have been handled a lot smoother and without causing Delialah eyes to tear up. I was surprised when Delilah told me Paula was not the manager because she was making the decisions as to what you can or can not do. In the end I told delilah that I was surprised how this was being handled and how nothing was being done to reassure me and how could someone(paula) talk to a loyal client of laguna hills pet like this. After it was confirmed that nothing could be done, I went to speak to my husband and we felt the best thing to do is to let other customers know of the poor service that was provided today. We decided to take pictures of Mojo and at that moment, Paula came out, slammed the door open nearly hitting me and said in her rude tone: can I help you? We said no, we are just taking pictures to show case on Yelp. My husband told her "this is because our dog looks like a rat now." She then closed the door and said "you have 30 seconds to leave or I'm calling the cops" which she stormed to the phone and then called the police. In her claim during the 911 call, Paula lied and said we were threatening her and we're refusing to leave the shop. That we said bad words to her as well. I stayed to speak to the cop, in hopes we can find a way to to contact you. The cop told us Paula's side of the story and told him lies. But I didn't expect any better from her. Now a little back story on Mojo: he has sensitive skin and Delilah knows this and we have never had an issue. I asked her when I came in, Give him the usual Boo cut, which Delilah knows and I get what I want. But Paula trimmed it super short and cut the back part of his hair even shorter. In a boo cut, it is suppose to be fluffy. When I was trying to explain this to delilah and paula, paula just spoke over me and said we cut his hair because of his skin. Now the reason I bring this up is because Paula lied to the cop and told him we told the client (me)that we will have to cut the hair this way due to Mojo's skin condition. However I never spoke to Paula. Paula has an ego and did not want to admit that she did a poor job, so used whatever excuse she could to justify her mistake. A simple "I'm sorry and we will reach out to the owner to see what we can do for you. We know you are a loyal client and we do not want to lose your loyalty and business" would have suficed. However, Paula handled her self in a way that made me reconsider coming to this shop. But apparently paula made that decision and said I'm not allowed to come back, according to the cop. Which I'm not surprised. All I ask is that you speak to Paula and teach her a little bit about customer service and how to handle a situation like this more appropriately in the future. I'm not sure how you want to handle this. I would like to think that if you were present this could have been avoided. You have my contact info. Sincerely, A very unsatisfied ex loyal customer. Ps. I am very sad to see the very disturbing haircut on Mojo. His hair is cut down to his poor bare skin. It's so short it looks painful.
