My min pin can be difficult with new people and especially getting her nails cut. But they honestly have a magic touch because my pup never fusses with them. my dog always gets his cuts here! I have a 13 year old Shih tzu who's blind and hates haircuts and water so the fact that they put up with him is amazing! I will say thing though they don't tell you when they raise their prices so always make sure to ask but other than that they're really good. Best nail grinding ever! First time in. Q d Doggie greeted us with a warm welcome. As they ground her nails, they tried to comfort her with voice and touch. My 6 yr. old dog, a 75 lb. Coonhound mix, has very long quicks. They got the nails shorter and smoother than any other groomer and didn't;t make her bleed. The environment was clean, minimal, and outdated. If you're looking for a contemporary or modern dog spa - this isn't it. If you're looking for quality and great service - I would recommend it. Yes, their prices are on the "cheaper" end and it's easy to get an appointment. But, as with most things in life, you get what you pay for! After moving from LA to the OC, one of my top priorities was to find a dog groomer for my adopted mixed shih tzu/poodle. He had the same groomer for years and absolutely loved her, so I was nervous to take him somewhere new. My little pup had experienced some previous trauma before I adopted him, so he needs a gentle touch. If a groomer is rough with him, he will not tolerate it. I walked in and my first impression was that the place is definitely uninviting and cold. The lady at the front was very unfriendly and I got a bad feeling from the beginning. But hey, don't judge a book by its cover. I explained what I wanted, showed photos, and off I went. Most of the time it takes at least three hours to finish grooming, so I was surprised when only two hours later, I got a call that he was ready to picked up. The haircut itself looked fine - not the best, not horrible. His hair was cut to the right length, but he definitely did not have the "puppy cut" that I requested. He had the typical shih-tzu cut, despite my showing photos of what I wanted. But what scared me was my dog's reaction when he came out from the back: he was absolutely TERRIFIED and was begging me to leave! When I asked how it went, the lady rudely scoffed at me and said he was very difficult. I wasn't able to see what went on, but it was obvious that the groomer and my dog did not get along. Now, I understand some dogs are more difficult than others. The best groomers are patient, love dogs, and know how to handle dogs that have experienced hardship with a gentle hand. My pup is kind to you if you are kind to him! Also, a person who cares about their business in general knows how to treat paying customers with some level of respect and communication instead of rudely dismissing them. No, I will not be back! I'll either use a mobile groomer and book two months in advance or drive 30 minutes to Healthy Spot, where I've had nothing but good experiences. read more

Best place to take your fur babies. They are great with dogs. One of my dogs is afraid of people and they are the only ones that were able to make her feel comfortable. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. I took my dog in yesterday for a nail trim because all other places were booked up and I figured to give this place a try since their Yelp reviews were pretty good. When I called, the lady (I assume Maria) told me it would be $10 and then said $15 after she asked the breed of my dog since she mentioned they would have to file his nails. Every other groomer we've gone to has always used a clipper but I was fine with it as long as they are able to do the nail trim. The moment I walked it, the man in the back was not happy with us because I forgot to bring a leash and asked to borrow one. They provided a rope and asked me to put it around my dog's neck. The man then proceeded to drag my dog into the back (my dog doesn't do well with strangers who he doesn't know and wasn't going along with him). Because rope tightens when the man was pulling, he was literally strangling my dog. I had to tell him to stop and asked to go to the back so my dog would follow. Once we got to the back, the man didn't ask me any questions about my dog but proceeded to put a muzzle on my dog. There were other dogs there who were not muzzled so I was surprised by his action. The whole time that the man was trimming my dog's nails, he was not gentle or loving like a normal groomer would be (especially when the owner is standing right there). In fact, he was pretty tough with my dog and I would tell because at the very end, my dog softly whimpered and he has never done that at any other groomers where I was present. To make things worse, when I was leaving, Maria tried to up-charge me by telling me it was going to be $20 dollars. When I told her I called earlier and she quoted me $15, she just nodded. If you want to have your dog treated nicely and have a positive experience at the groomers, DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG here! Not only did they try to up-charge me, but most importantly, they were not gentle and nice to my pet, even when I was there. So imagine how they would act when you aren't there. read more

Took my dog to get groomed at this place and I picked up a completely different dog. My dog was shaved completely. As you can tell in the picture she was shaved down to the skin under one of her arms and her skin looks irritated. I do not recommend Q d Doggie based on my experience which is why I'm giving it 1 star!! Since leaving the Bay Area, I've struggled to find a good groomer for my little Maltese. We had someone we loved there and I had paid $55 for grooming WITH tip and we loved her. Fast forward to life in the OC and we have yet to find a decent and respectable groomer. I found Q D Doggie on Yelp when I was in a jam and they ended up being able to squeeze us in. When I picked him up, they appeared to do a nice job but she did make it clear that my dog was very difficult. He IS only 6 lbs but happens to be deaf and has hip problems - in reality, he is a very sweet dog but can be a pill when he is being groomed. The total? $65!!! I was surprised but I paid it and because it was so high, just considered her tip built into that high priced bill. I didn't want to hop around groomer to groomer (I was told by our vet to be consistent with a groomer seeing he has a hard time) so I proceeded to take him back to them and each time, the same comments about him being difficult and the same amount - $65. UNTIL-- my most recent visit. I go to pick him up, she hands him over, swiped my card, I quickly sign. Once I'm in my car, I glance at my card receipt -- SEVENTY FIVE dollars. For a 6lb Maltese ? Does that sound reasonable to anyone ? I immediately spoke to the groomer, confronting her on the increase and she gave me an earful on how she had to charge more because he was so difficult and took longer than the other dogs?! I stated that I brought him in 1/2 dozen other times and this is the same time he has always taken, why would you arbitrarily change the price you are charging me? I am convinced she sized me up based on my car (parked right out front of the store) and what she thought she could get out of me. NOT RIGHT. After much back and forth she put someone (presumably the owner) on the phone who said he would refund the $10. I said no thanks - I'm almost home to Dana Point and not driving back to Lake Forest (crazy that I was driving all the way there in the first place - we had lived in Aliso when we started taking him) but the REAL kicker, they had his collar so I had to go back anyway!! When I had picked him up from grooming, they told me that I had the collar so I thought it was on his leash. Nope. They ended up giving me the collar back and the $10- NO apology. SO done with Q D Doggie!! Never again. read more

I started to be a regular customer 8yrs ago when we move to Foothill Ranch. I was looking for a new groomer sine Kevin (original groomer) was far away. I read the reviews and all were very positive. And true enough, this place is amazing and Maria really. take care of your fur babies. It's been 1 year since we have been taking our Aussiedoodle here and every single time I've been happy with their work. Throughout the year occasionally we would try another groomer and walked away regretting it. The whole "you pay for what you get" is nonsense. I've paid ridiculous prices for a grooming and walked away very frustrated with some of these high priced groomers in south OC. QD gives a fair price but the patience they have grooming my pup is very much appreciated! As you can imagine an aussiedoodle is extremely high energy at a young age and other groomers have struggled with my dog leaving him with a botched haircut. I had my dog groomed here on 5/14/2018. I decided to come here, after having a bad experience with a chain pet supply store , based on the high reviews. Ultimately, my dog's cornea (surface of the eye) was scratched while in the care of the grooming staff. The staff was kind and were genuinely interested in doing a good job, and proud of their craft. All of the other dogs appeared happy as well. The haircut, puppy cut style, for my 25 lb mini Schnauzer mix was $65 and included nails and sanitary practices. They did a good job in the grooming portion of their duties, however, they did injure my pet. The staff did their best to remedy the solution: A. They reimburse me the associated vet bill B. They offered to clean my dog up again as he has a significant amount of discharge from his which has resulted in his face being pretty gross. (I declined because they injured his eye to begin with) I am disappointed that they would not refund the cost of the grooming as I was not fully satisfied with the outcome due to my pet being injured. In my opinion, their solution was not practical and was somewhat ignorant in the sense that they offered to groom him again which caused the problem in the first place. I would rather support small business owners like this one, and I hope that they consider changing their store policy/practices to ensure that customers are completely satisfied, especially in these kinds of situations. read more

I am writing this review on behalf of my brother who had the unfortunate experience of dealing with the unprofessional older lady who works at the front. We've been using this groomer for years but after this incident we will never return. About 2 months ago, he booked a grooming appointment for our dog at 4pm so he could take our dog as soon as he gets off work (usually around 2-3pm). He works at a hospital so especially with the pandemic, things can get really busy. That day of the appointment was unfortunately one of those days and he ended up ending work around 4pm. So as soon as he ends work, he calls to let them know we can't make it. The lady (same lady who's always at the front and answering the phone) starts screaming at him saying he should have let her known earlier, that she turned customers away because of us and she got yelled at by her boss for turning customers away (not sure what she's trying to say because they don't accept walk in's) After the jarring phone call, we didn't take him to the groomers for 2 months because we were very perturbed by that incident! We decided to try calling again this week because our fur baby needs his wash and trim. As soon as he tells her our dogs name, she snarkly responds, are you going to be on time this time. Very unprofessional very rude. If she's treating us this unprofessionally, I can't imagine how terribly she'd treat our fur baby. So long story short, there's so many groomers in the OC area that do the same to better job without the whopping side of nasty attitude. So we will be taking our baby elsewhere. read more

The pricing here is fantastic and they're willing to work with you on scheduling. I have a terrier, so her nails grow quick and most places don't take the time to trim as short as possible. They do here! The thing to keep in mind is that you can't tip on the credit card machine, so bring cash! They are polite, professional and overall just pleasant. I used to really like bringing my two pups here but recently the owner has been really short-tempered, unfriendly and their prices have increased without explanation. I always made it a habit to pay with cash because she charged me more if I paid with my ATM, which is lame to pass on a fee to your customers like that but not every business owner is savvy enough to understand that if they need to cover costs like that, then they should just bake it into the cost of their service. My dog got his haircut here today for the first time and I am seriously SO impressed. My dog is a Scottish Terrier, a dog that is fairly uncommon and has a very specific style of haircut for his breed that we like to have for him. They did an absolutely amazing job , you can definitely tell they have the experience to do complicated breed specific haircuts. On top of that they did his appointment (wash, blow dry, fancy breed haircut, nail trim, etc) so quickly, and without compromising the quality of his grooming. I am blown away and just so impressed. And to top all of this off the owners were so incredibly kind. I highly recommend this groomer to anyone, especially if you have a more complicated style of haircut. read more

We love our dog! We have anxiety every time we try a new place for grooming. We have had some experiences that have not been pleasant. With that said, we are proud to report Q d Doggie knocked it out of the park! Bailey is also anxious when visiting the groomer and we are always concerned about her experience. When we arrived to pick her up she was happily roaming around with a couple other pups in the grooming area. A huge difference from other groomers. Usually all dogs are locked away in cages. Not a huge fan of this place, I brought my dog in and told the groomer the style cut I wanted for my dog and how I do not like the regular schnauzer cut and he kept on insisting on doing it as a schnauzer cut...I specifically told him I did not like that way and that I wanted a more softer look around the face. After having gone back and forth with him about it I finally just dropped my dog off and left. Upon picking her up I notice that her face was cut to an exact schnauzer cut exactly how I told him NOT to do it. He went back and cut it shorter but still I was very unhappy, aside from that the entire cut wasn't the best... it was butchered and uneven. They also charged me $70, after having quoted me $65 over the phone. Overall it wasn't a pleasant experience, you should never go against a customers wishes if they are paying for a service, you should give them the particular style they are asking for, and you should stick to the price you had originally quoted. Tried this groomer because I couldn't get in with the recent high demand once groomers opened up. It was easy to get an appointment for my dog's grooming. They had to fix what I would call my dog's "Covid haircut" that I gave her when she desperately needed when things were shut down. I feared that they would shave her hair way down to fix it. They actually did a great job! They shaped the hair around her head into a real bichon style and maintained a good length. She looks really adorable. I will definitely return here. We've been loyal customers with our two dogs for the last 3+ years since we moved to the area. They're usually great, friendly and my dogs come home extremely happy with great cuts. Recently, the female owner just seems more irritable than usual. I brought in the dogs 10 minutes early for their appointment and she was rude and short, stating they were too early. Uhm, okay, do you want me to drive around and come back? Also, each time we come, the prices slowly increase over time. Initially we paid $60/dog, totaling $120 (plus tip) And now, the total for both dogs is $145 with no explanations with the increase. The service is still great, dogs are happy each time I get them, but the service is lacking. read more
