Having pre-registered, check in was easy as well. There are no lockers so bring you stuff in a bag and you can take it out to the deck and leave it there. Plenty of chairs as you wait for the class. Wow! There were at least 3 dozen people in class, mostly seniors who all seem to know each other. The class went the full hour and was easy to follow along. You can be in the shallow or deep end depending on your level of comfort. Energetic instructor who probably catered to the group as there was a lot of repetitive moves. Towards the end we used weights and noodles for a little change up. I'll be trying an evening class next time. The temperature of the water is perfect by the way. Highly recommend you all give this a try.

This place is huge and has two sections for kids (small and big kids) The playground is safe and the floor has rubber matting in case the kids slip. There's also a small rock climbing section and a covered patio for birthday parties. You have to reserve the patio for any events though. The Larkey Swim Center is a community pool in Walnut Creek that's great for kids and adult beginner…read moreswimmers. We came here a few times on a Saturday near the end of summer. It's adjacent to Larkey Park, so if the shared parking lots get full, you'll find plenty of free street parking. The pool itself is divided into several section - beginners (3.5 to 4.5 feet max depth), diving, and for lap swimming. They have lifeguards everywhere and they do a fine job of maintaining order. The water temperature was perfect. Our 5yo son seems to have a natural inkling for water but he enjoyed the pool far more than the splash pad, which is also popular with young kids. I tried carrying him up on the water slide but he refused. Note: for taller folks, they have a pretty intense water spray on top of the slide that can blind you. Imagine max shower pressure right on your face, LOL! Other amenities are large locker and changing rooms with clean showers, small picnic areas for sun tanning or relaxing, and plenty of benches and tables to store your bags or snacks. They also have a vending machine for cold drinks. Definitely plan on returning when the pool opens up again (9/27/25 was the last day for the summer). A definite bargain at just over $20 for a family of three.

The pool itself and pool deck are clean. Staff and swimmers are friendly. Changing rooms are not advanced but what I expected for city facilities. The size of the pool is quite impressive and I have had a good experience with lane sharing here too. Overall would recommend as people, prices, and facility are all great.

Also, they don't update the hours of operation on Apple Maps. I wish they'd have more of a trust system with better pricing or free for people who aren't planning to swim. They could also do a lot better job at letting people know when the pool is closed for swim meets or other big events.

This gym, overall, is a very safe and inclusive space for individuals that may have certain or special needs. I also want to show love to Mr. Shameek (i think is his name). He manages the gym so well and is also super approachable and supportive too. We love it here!

I'm immensely appreciative of them for opening up and coming up with a system for those of us jonesing to get in a pool. They're a saltwater pool now (I just moved to the area, but my understanding is that they did not used to be saline), which I love as it's a little easier on skin and hair. In addition, they keep the place immaculate- every time I'm there swimming, there are lifeguards wiping down all the surfaces repeatedly, and they enforce social distancing very well. I'm really excited to get to swim here more often once things calm down.

We politely and patiently waited in line behind her. This same elderly lady had the audacity to let her 3 acquaintances who showed up later to cut in line w/ her. I spoke up and told her friend that we were in line and that they basically cut. She apologized, but for the future, it would be good for an employee to pls step out and assure that the general public must practice the common decency when waiting in line in a fair and orderly manner. Otherwise, thank you for providing the clean swimming pool, and courteous services!
