Our first Thai food experience. It's located in a little shopping center but it has a good size amount of dine-in space. Looks like it's family owned. Pretty clean. We had 2 kids,a car seat plus 2 adults in our party and sat comfortably. Appetizer: we tried the wonton wraps which came out piping hot *yummy* with pork in it, which were pretty good (it's a wonton you can mess it up....unless it's soggy. Which wasn't the case here.) Their corn cakes are ok, I prefer the wontons instead. Main course: Our kids had the sidewalk noodles, chunks of noodles with bean sprouts and your choice of meat (chkn, beef or pork.) No flavor & didn't like this dish, so most likely won't order it again. We had the roast pork which is thinly sliced pork with what tasted like sweet BBQ sauce. It was ok,but I didn't really care for it. Now of all the dishes this one was reaaal good and it was their Panang. This is their traditional curry dish with your choice of meat (chicken,beef or pork) we had the chicken. It's full of flavor and we were able to split it between two of us with the steamed rice that comes with it. So portion wise I'd say this plate can feed 2. They do have quite a few vegetarian options available as well. Overall it was good, will be going back to try more dishes. I've been here quite a few times for Thai and the food has been great! The last two times I have went it has not been good. The kitchen, looks like they might have had a change of staff; Which makes me think a change of ownership. I'm very curious to know? I got the fresh rolls which are always good. But I noticed a change in the sauce that comes with it? The Pad Thai was very sweet as if they had added to much sugar, and the Phanaeng was extremely salty! I let the waitress know about my complaints, first thing she says "Do you want your money back" (I think that's the worst thing to say to a customer,your not solving the problem) I also had already paid. I wanted them to know for the next customer's sake is all. It's gonna be a few months before I will try it again. Stay tune. read more

So far Lahn Pad Thai pales in comparison to the other delicious Thai offerings here. I tried their drunken noodle it was almost not edible... But I've heard good things from other people so I'm going to give it one more shot. read more

Carry out gets 5 stars. Dining in gets 1. During evening meal times, the only way to go is carry out. The management openly admits that's where they make their money in the evening so in-restaurant diners get extremely long waits. Food is very good, prices are right, just don't plan to eat in during dinner time. Haven't been during lunch but makes sense the service dining-in would be much better. Love their food. read more

Was not very impressed. The shrimp purses were good but I was surprised at how empty they were, they look big but it's all a facade lol. We ordered house fried rice which they apparently didn't actually have on the menu so they just added shrimp and scallops to the chicken rice but it wasn't fried, it was like plain steamed rice. YUMMY! I just moved here from Seattle and only wish they had Thai food as delicious as Lahn Pad Thai. I am Thai and have visited the homeland and eaten plenty of Thai food in my life. I absolutely LOVE the "TOm kahr gai", chicken soup with coconut milk, lime juice, chillies. Super killer hangover food! Another favorite is the panang curry. I usually judge a thai place by their curries and this was the best I've had in a long time. Another added bonus is that they serve their thai ice tea with crushed ice, the way you get it in Thailand. I rarely eat Pad Thai when I go to Thai places, but because the dish is their namesake we decided to give it a try, WOW! There is only 3 places in the world I will eat Pad Thai, #1 Thailand, #2 Thai Tom's (U-district, Seattle), #3 Lahn Pad Thai. For me that's a really big deal! It's unfortunate the person who gave this place a bad review didn't actually get to eat any of the food. Sure there are times you will wait, but there are times when the food comes out super fast. I work in the industry and when I get off this is the kind of place I like to eat, a small local joint cooking good, REAL food which is hard to come by in these fast food, chain restaurant days. I ordered some pad Thai to go after a drive coming up from Seward. They said it would take 20 min. I picked up my food within 15 minutes and it seems as if it was sitting out there for a while. The noodles were all stuck together and it was pretty dry. There was also some spicy powered in the corner that I did not know was spicy. They should have told me or asked if and how spicy I want it. I mixed it all and it was TOO DAMN SPICY. The hot mouth probably influenced this review a bit, but the noodles were dry, perhaps the eat in experience is better. read more

So this is my second Thai restaurant I've tried while on business travel in Anchorage. Both are great. The other was Thai Siam. The green curry (C1) chicken was phenomenal! probably the best flavored curry dish and perfect amount of hot peepers I've had. Guess we always say that but it was really good.Top quality chicken breast meat. For me its one of those meals you just cant stop eating even though your full. I was impressed with the quality of this place for Anchorage. I'm from Dallas and didn't expect to find such good Thai food in the Alaska area. The staff was very kind and attentive and there were no issues with any of the service or food. The amount of food you receive is a very good portion as well. I've got this bookmark and I will definitely return when I'm in town again. The spring rolls were fantastic and so is the Thai iced coffee. read more

THis place used to be really good...but within the last year or so it has been a going downhill! I ordered three entrée and all of them would not at all. The curry is way too spicy and runny without any thing but cheap bamboo. Noodles were mushy and burnt! If I want to good Thai food from now on I go downtown ... It's worth the drive. read more

Our family has been eating here for years, since it first opened. This is a friendly place to get the best Thai in town. We have crossed off many other Thai spots, but keep coming here. The curries are all delicious, noodle dishes come in many varieties, and the fried rice is fresh and full of veggies! I would rate this 5 stars except that there is the occasional, rather underwhelming meal here. Most of the time the food is stellar, as I have been coming here since shortly after they opened and had many, many good meals. The green curry, when done right is out of this world good. Horrible experience! Waited over 30 minutes because our order was never turned in. When we finally did get our food it wasn't what we ordered. We ordered spicy so they brought spicy sauce in little plastic containers and told us to mix it in ourselves! They overcharged us and then didn't want to fix it on my card. Everything is amazing, the Drunken Noodles are so amazing and they make it spicy and still have amazing taste! I love this place!

Got some take out this week from Lahn Pad Thai. Two entrees only: Thai tofu with fried tofu and brown rice for me (medium spice) and Pad Ped with fried tofu and brown rice for my girlfriend (also medium). Should mention we are both vegetarians. Thai tofu was okay... Tofu was good, but the dish is pretty plain and too salty. Needs some broccoli or something. I would call the spice more like mild, but it was okay overall. Much better with a little Sriracha, as are all things. 3.5/5 after adding hot sauce. Girlfriend liked her Pad Ped better. There were enough vegetables to make it more interesting, though still not necessarily what I would call great Thai curry. Also hers was much closer to what I think of as medium spice. 3.5/5 on its own. Portions were decent on both dishes. Overall 3/5. I'd get food from here again but maybe try something different. read more

Small, informal and busy at 7pm on a Sunday night. Super friendly staff who knew many of the regulars. Had to wait a bit for menus to be delivered and orders taken. We had yellow curry, pad Thai and panang. All very good. Be warned for you lightweights like me - 'mild' is mildly spicy...almost too much for me. read more

I love this place. They have remodeled since the last time I was here and I must say it looks great. I always have a great meal here. The place is quaint but very relaxing atmosphere. Take out is a great option here if you are not in the mood for sit down dining. Reminds me of home cooking. I highly recommend giving this place a try. read more

The food was good to great depending on what you ordered. The service is where this place lost stars for me. The delay in taking drink orders, the running off from the table before I could finish my requests, the talking to of friends instead of refilling my drink, the sneaking away to the bathroom to text someone, and the neat-screw up of the bill are what bothered me. Otherwise I'd give this a 4 to 4.5 based on food alone. read more

Flavorless, didn't resemble Thai food at all, I think they used Italian basil. Asked for extra spicy, was not hot at all. Had none of the flavors associated with Thai, wasn't even cooked correctly. Overall it was just nasty and bland. Service was excellent at least read more

Best Thai food in town! Wonderful Staff!

I recently moved out of Alaska and I'm going to miss this restaurant and compare all other Thai restaurants to it. My favorite is the panang, excellent every time! I usually ask for this vegetarian and to my delight it comes with loads of fresh veggies instead of just tofu and sauce. The drunken noodles are a close second, these have a lot of spice, but delicious! Kang karie, fresh rolls, spring rolls, curry noodles...all good! My mom swears by their their pad thai and tom yum gai. Any trip home will include a stop here for me! read more

Surprisingly good Thai food in Anchorage. We live in San Francisco and were on the last day of a 10 day trip to Alaska. Craving Thai food we found this place and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality and flavors. The Panang Curry was particularly notable with its many kinds of fresh vegetables floating in a very flavorful curry sauce. I would definitely recommend if in Anchorage and craving Thai food! read more

LOVE this place! It is the best Pad Thai, Spring Rolls, and Fresh Rolls in town. I enjoy bringing friends, family and clients here. It's really small so come a bit before or after the lunch or dinner rush for a seat. Really had a nice Meal there today. Dropped in in the middle of a Saturday afternoon. About half full, which is a good sign (as opposed to empty). We made our way to a table, and we're met and helped right away. As soon as we sat our waitress helped us order more or less without a menu, simply asking us what we felt like having. The food came very quickly. The curry noodles with beef were seasoned just right. I was very hungry, and they were more than enough for me, with a little help from my girls. The fried spring rolls were fresh and tasty, and disappeared right away. The bahmee was generous in size, delicious, and garnished with fresh, crisp vegetables. We ordered the sate almost out of curiosity. It was good, but took us right over the top, and will make a good left over. Gibby our waitress was great. She made us feel right at home. I loved the fact that the dishes were all about $12.00 or under. How often do you see that? It isn't the Grand Palace, but they don't try to be. They are a solid, well priced, quality, small family restaurant rendering value at a reasonable price. No one does it better. 5 stars. read more
