Stunning sea arch to see in the middle of Pacific Ocean. This beautiful location isn't just a tourist spot, it holds cultural and spiritual significance. Very scared therefore respect the grounds. Parking is limited, but it's worth the wait for an epic picture.
I've been coming to Oahu for many many years and recently found out about this scenic stop so I had to stop by and see it while on the island. It is just a quick stop but well worth the trip! There is limited parking since it is located in a residential area, just be patient and wait it out. An amazing sea arch !

Cute little spot off the beaten path. It's at the very end of a quiet little neighborhood so please remember to be respectful when parking and checking it out. There are limited spots to park. You can walk out onto the rocks but be careful in the winter with the big waves and high winds.

The grounds are quite bumpy, so wearing sturdy walking shoes or paying close attention to where you're stepping is a must. Despite these minor inconveniences, it's a lovely spot for a quick visit to soak in the gorgeous scenery.
My better half had plans to meet up with our amazing friend Nadine who lives in Hawaii. Nadine had texted her a picture of this location. We had been traveling around the island & made a bathroom pit stop right prior to here. Suddenly Nadine drove through a residential area to this dead end & found parking as she literally lucked out. We made it! One doesn't really need to hike to it. It's basically a scenic point where you see a flat horizontal rock formation with a hole in it. You see the waves coming through and enjoy nature at its finest. I walked to the rock that displayed information about it. Be sure to do that also & be careful. It tells a legendary story... Be respectful of this area. It's a quick stop & unlike anything we have ever seen before. You will be glad you did. Thank you Nadine!
It's a little sobering when you're driving along the North Shore of Oahu and make the turn off Kamehameha Hwy through this residential neighborhood, then all of a sudden, you are at the end of the world. You come to this little finger of land jutting out into the Pacific Ocean and there is nothing but open water between you and North America, 5000 miles to the East. The only other features are a couple of rocky islands with waves crashing on them and some seabirds riding the winds. We came on an overcast day with medium winds and the ocean waves were kicking up some big swells that crashed on the rocks, making for some great scenic pictures. Kukuihoolua Island just off the shore is a cool looking site with a hole cut through the middle forming a rock bridge. When you hike out to the point, be very careful because there are no paved trails and the volcanic rock is pockmarked and pitted from wind, rain, sand and ocean erosion. It is very easy to trip and wrench an ankle if you're not looking or worse if you land a kneecap on a rock. There is limited space here to park 4-5 cars and not a lot of people come here, but if it's full, just wait a while and cars will rotate out.
We visited at what turned out to be the windiest hour of the windiest day of the whole two weeks we were on the North Shore. It was a Wednesday. We were half way to Papa Ole's for some of their wonderful roast pork with gravy when I had a little epiphany. Why don't we stop on the way to lunch intead of waiting until after? We probably won't feel like walking after we eat a whole plate lunch. So that's what we did. We parked and walked way out on the point to where the fishermen were. Clearly the fishing was good. We saw a guy walk by with a whole bunch of fish on a stringer. It was so windy we couldn't hear each other, which actually enhanced the whole experience. When you're surrounded by this much natural beauty, who needs to talk? We walked out to the point in silence, but I want you to understand the wind was wicked loud. It whipped the incoming waves into the rocks, sending up sprays of white water. Before we came we wanted to know what's up here at Laie Point, so we read the about the legend of "Laniloa, The Mo'o." Then when we got here, whatayaknow, there's a wonderful little marker with the exact same story engraved right into it. In a way I kinda wish I had waited. It would've been more dramatic to discover the legend right on the spot. It is indeed wonderful though, because some people will visit without having previously known of the legend. And without question one's visit is enhanced immeasuably by a familiarity with the story. OK, well, I know it's wacky, but when I decided to write a review of this place, I knew it had to be the kind of a review that had a whole bunch of Ws in it. I think it went well. Mikey C says: whew!
Great spot to have a lil picnic and just got a short stroll. The views are stunning. Says no parking around here but everyone does it and just make sure to keep an eye on your car! Overall views are to die for
Just a stunning view. It's a blessed place. You gasp when you get there while you're there you can go to the Mormon Temple after which is 1 minute away.

What's the point... Lā'ie Point State Wayside to be precise where it's not quite a park but a lookout point with an easy access drive up located right across from Late Shopping Center on Anemoku Street though be aware it's a residential area and with very limited parking so you need to be mindful not to block driveways and find some area to park to take in the view. No trails or path and is quite rocky so be careful making your way around to take what nature has created which is quite interesting and it's nice to see that there is a plaque that explains the legend of how the scattered pieces of rock formations came to be was quite fascinating and one that I learned on this visit but a place not to be missed for a cool and unobstructed view of a unique part of the island. Laie Point State Wayside is quite a breathtaking scenic lookout with beautiful views of the Koolau Mountain range and an interesting rock formation that's bridged together. Located in Laie, you take the street directly across from Laie Shopping Center, Anemoku St. Just follow it and make the next right onto Naupaka St and straight down. There's a few unmarked parking spaces. If none, you can park on the street. It can get pretty windy here and the walkable areas are quite rocky, sharp, and uneven. The waves crash onto the rocks as well. Just adds to the thrill! Cool place to stop by! read more

We stayed at Turtle Bay, so of course thought of the film Forgetting Sarah Marshall. When someone pointed out the two characters jumped from Laie Point, we thought, why not check it out. The four of us got here on Monday, March 4th around 1:15pm. Parking wasn't too hard. We just parked on the side of the road. Just make sure to read the signs as I think you can only park on the side against the point. It was super windy that day, so we decided not to jump. But we did see a few girls doing it and it seemed pretty safe. They had no problem getting back up. I believe you have to climb up a crevice in the rocks, so I decided to skip it. I could see myself having a hard time getting back up to our starting point. The area itself is beautiful. Great for photo ops. Pretty views all around. It wasn't too busy the day we were here, so we were able to get pix without other people in them. Sounds selfish, I know. But I love capturing places without people in my pictures. Such a pretty spot. Worth a stop for the views. And of course a jump if you dare. read more

On our way out from the North Shore, we decided to go take a side trip here since it was so close by. I didn't really know that this place was a famous spot from Forgetting Sarah Marshall until I read up on more reviews. But hey, good to know! This spot is at a dead end of a road. There's "parking" with a few spots and we just got lucky that one person was just about to leave when we got there. Most people don't stay for too long so you can wait a little bit. There's an arch a ways away that people take photos of. A few good views, but nothing really extraordinary. I feel like you can get these views (minus the arch) all around the island. So don't feel like you're missing out if you skip this spot. It's just another view of the ocean. read more

This was a quick random good lookout for a nice view of the ocean and rock formations. Literally, a quick stop for us for pictures as it also started to rain hard on us! Haha There is not much parking here and is located in a dead end street. There is also parking on dirt. I see some people fishing here so bring those fishing poles and gear. It would be a great spot to fish and bask in the ocean waves! Very unique formation of the rock with an opening in the middle. I wish there was a way to get on that rock and that would be a great photo. Just a quick stop for tourist. It was worth it. [128/100] read more
Laie Point is one of those must stops when cruising around the island or if you just happen to be in the area. It is popular for us locals and as well as tourists because it is so beautiful. We love parking here at the point and taking walks and taking pictures of the beautiful scenery of the windward side of the island and North Shore. I love taking panorama shots here. The beautiful view never gets old. If you have little ones with you, make sure to keep an eye on them and keep them close by so they don't trip on fall on the rocky areas. Keep in mind that it is at a dead end street with limited parking so if parking is full, just be patient. People are usually in and out of there so you will get your turn. Check it out :) read more

Beautiful scenery to take pics and not overcrowded like other scenic spots.... probably cause it's all the way in Laie. The lack of crowds makes it easier to find good spots to take pics without having to compete with others. Parking sucks and needs to be fixed (the sand needs to be replenished so it is not a steep drop from the street to the parking area. Also, the fishermen need to clean-up after themselves as the trash distracts from the beautiful scenery. read more

My friends and I came here to watch the sunset. It was a beautiful view. It wasn't crowded either. It was very nice and peaceful. Can be a romantic spot too. Not sure if other people did this, but my friend went cliff jumping. read more
Ok...I've lived here most of my life and this was my first time here. I don't know how to explain it but the view and the ocean was so calming. I could imagine bringing a chair, tent, cooler, and bbq and just sit there and relax. I wish I could've seen it before the big rock disappeared. Will stop here for sure on my next adventure to Laie read more
This is a super cool lookout spot near the LDS temple and the PCC. Highly recommend stopping by and taking some pics and walking around the rocks. There are some cliff jumping spots nearby as well but the waves were too strong when we were there as they often are in the late winter. Parking is limited but there are some spots in the neighborhood there nearby. read more

This scenic spot was a bit remote on the north shore of Oahu. It is definitely worth going off the beaten path to check out. However there's not much in the way of parking. read more
Incredible waves!!! January 4, 2016 Driving on the Windward side North Shore of Oahu on Kamehameha Highway we turned into this residential street, made a left and drove until we ended up on a small parking area. I was immediately mesmerized by this incredibly beautiful lookout spot, transfixed by the beautiful seascape. I walked almost to the tip of the cliff but not one more step for fear of the unrelenting waves, the wind, and the rough rock formations. I could easily spend an hour or two here watching the endless beauty of the ocean. My visit was in January and the waves were raging... just so neat to watch. I read in some reviews that whales were spotted here... I wasn't fortunate enough to see one :( There's a Hawaiian Legend behind the rock locals call the 'Lizard Rock'. There is a plaque at the entrance to the site that tells the tale of "Laniloa the Mo'o". Laniloa, The Mo'o A Legend of Oahu This point of land that extends out into the ocean is called Laniloa. According to legend. This peninsula was originally a "Mo'o" or giant lizard. Standing upright ready to kill any intruder. After Kana (a legendary warrior) and his brother had rescued their mother from Moloka'i and had taken her back to Hawaii. Kana set out on a journey to kill all the Mo'o in the islands. In time, he arrived in La'ie where the Mo'o had been killing many people. Kana easily defeated the Mo'o taking its head. He chopped it into five pieces and flung them into the ocean. The pieces of the lizard's head can still be seen today as five small islands lying off-shore their original names were Kihewamoku, Moluaaniwa, Pulemoku, Malualai and Keauakaluapa'a'a. A must see for new or seasoned islanders. If you put the location into your gps it will take you to the end of the road before the rocky pier. There's limited parking at the end but may be some parking along the road in the residential area. Once you get to the rocky point you can walk along the either side to take in the beautiful views and listen to the waves. There were a few people fishing and others just hanging out for a bit. There are steep drop offs and uneven rocks so if you take kids keep a close eye on them. read more
Nice spot to watch the sunrise! We came just before the sunrise and there were a few people already waiting. Be sure to check the sunrise time before heading out! So you don't miss it! You can park around the neighborhood and walk over to the point. It was a beautiful sight! Watching the sunrise over the ocean and hearing the waves crash against the rocks. read more

One of the most beautiful places for a sunrise on the island! Definitely worth the drive there. We've come here multiple times for sunrise whenever we have guests and they love it. Just remember to be respectful of the area and the residents in the neighborhood. read more

As you've probably seen from other reviews, this is the place where Jason Segel and Mila Kunis jumped off a cliff! I went here with a couple friends when I was visiting and it's gorgeous here. (My friends were locals so finding it was not a problem.) Super pretty view, and the conditions happened to be perfect for jumping off. So did I do it?! It took a little internal pep-talking because I made the mistake of looking down first, but I'm glad I went for it! (Although if you're going for it, maybe don't do it when your back is hurting from chronic hyperextension, lest you land a little funny like I did). In any case, the water felt amazing and the trek back up wasn't difficult at all. Just maybe don't attempt it without wearing some sort of footwear because those rocks are effing sharp. My friend threw down my flip flops for me because she's awesome, so it ended up being okay! If you're going to jump, bring a camera and a friend to take a picture or video for you! :] There isn't much of a parking lot here, so it might be a little difficult to find a place to stop, but if you get the chance to, I'd definitely recommend it! read more
