She was very friendly and even suggested some of her favorite food items off of the lunch menu. So it depends on the night. Friday night or during football season, the bartenders are attentive in taking food or drink orders. On other nights, it is really a thing to get them to turn around and notice you have been standing there for 10 minutes to order something. There are some hustlers that work there. And some others, really are a new breed of bartenders that just focus on the glasses, stocking etc while customers are waiting to be served. They could use some retraining there. The ambience is good. Pool tables, a small patio, and a long bar. Many tables to accommodate diners. There are some good dishes. I like the bruschetta and the pesto chicken sanwhich the best. The rest is your usual pub fair. I would love to see a few healthier choices that aren't a salad. The salads are okay though, but huge! read more

We were hungry so we came in about 9:15 on a Tuesday after watching a friend's band across the street. It wasn't super busy. We knew the kitchen closed at 10 so we wanted to get our order in quickly. The service was quick enough. We thought it was weird that we had to close the tab even before we got the food (signed, tip and all) but whatever, it's a bar so we didn't mind. We got a burger, chicken tenders and chicken tacos (for taco Tuesday) The food is really good! Hot and fresh and well made. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the music is sooooo loud. 80's music, super fun to dance to. It was so overly loud that you couldn't even have a conversation. Dj's should read the crowd. It's not a Friday or Saturday night where the place is packed and it's a club vibe. It's Tuesday, there's pool league and groups of people trying to talk at tables. I would suggest not to have weekday music so loud that you can't even talk to the person next to you. Otherwise. Everything was great. read more

LOVE the stage because you can see the band from almost anywhere. Really enjoyed BAD CANDY on April 28th. Food was good but it would be nice if they tell you they will charge an extra $2 for curly fries or tater tots. I specifically asked if my sandwich came with fries and she said "Yes, regular, curly or tots?" I chose curly and my husband chose tots. She did NOT tell us about the extra $2, which is not really a big deal but that $4 could have gone towards another drink! LOL Seriously, tho, they need to let people know it's extra unless you get regular fries. Other than that, we had a great time once they finally sent over a server which took about 20 minutes..... The music was great, the service wasn't too bad but the drinks were kinda wack. I had this screwdriver bowl all to myself and barely got a light buzz off of it. To be honest I felt like a was drinking a Capri sun with Red Bull. My Girlfriend got an adios and told me she could barely taste anything. Those are supposed to be super Strong. I tried and and she was right. It most definitely was not an adios. We had to spend more money getting drinks because their were so low on alcohol they didn't do much for us. I did order the platter of wings, those were pretty tasty. I do recommend the wing platter. I also recommend drinking prior to coming here so you don't waste sober time waiting forever for a luke warm drink. read more

Even if Lake Alice Trading didn't hold up to standards -- which it did -- I would have given them 5-stars simply by the fact they have an Iron Maiden (my favorite band btw) Legacy of the Beast pinball machine. Envious, I wish to own it; that is until I find out the price tag is $6000. So unfortunately, I won't be owning this anytime soon. What I admire most of Lake Alice Trading bar is their 'peaceful protest/defiance' as they stand their ground against the predations of governmental restrictions hellbent on destroying small businesses. As of April 25th, 2021, any patron is granted the freedom to enjoy the days of yore where you can drink and socialize without a mask. And without fear of being shamed and publicly ostracized. Drinks are cheap. Lots of entertainment besides 'the game' like shuffle board, pinball machines and other arcade games, and pool games. Basically Lake Alice Trading is more than just a bar and is worthy of your dollar and visit. read more

We came here after a concert around 10 PM to grab a quick dinner since most restaurants in this area were closed. We sat down at our table and went up to the bar to order food (fried pickles, onion rings, chicken tenders). The bartender guy was very rude and did not say much to us when ordering. There was 1 other table that was already eating and everyone else was just drinking at the bar. We sat down at a table to wait for our food. After 20-25 minutes, we went up and told the same bartender that it had been a while waiting for what should be quick food. He said he would go check on our order, but did not leave the bar to check. After 30 minutes, my boyfriend got up to look at where the kitchen was located (on the way walking to the bathroom) and saw there was no ticket and the cook was just sitting on his phone. Irritated, my boyfriend walked back up to the bar and the bartender made eye contact, didn't say anything, and walked to the kitchen. He walked back with our fried pickles (which took 35 minutes) and said the rest should be up shortly (40 minutes). While we were eating, there were approximately 3-4 customers walking in and out of the kitchen. Is that not a health code violation? Gross. The service was terrible. The ambiance was confusing. The DJ was so boring, why have a DJ at all? While the food wasn't disgusting from the taste, the customers shuffling in and out of the kitchen was disgusting, on top of the 35-40 minute wait for fried food when we were the only ones eating. If I ever visit Riverside again, I'd rather go to the 24-hour Taco Bell in town for faster, bad food. read more

Me and my wife decided to stop by for a drink. Jackie took time to talk to my wife and figure out what sounded delicious to her. She made one of the best mojito's she has ever had. Honestly it is hard to find people in hospitality that cares enough to help let alone find out what you would like but Jackie make you feel like your patronage maters. We wanted to wait for her to come back from her break but my wife wanted another drink so I asked another bartender to make a mojito. It did not turn out very good but Jackie happened to be coming back. I let her know about the drink and she, without question, made another for me. Don't come here if you plan on playing some late night pinball! I guess they have an unposted policy that they turn off the pinball machine at 12:30 AM. I arrived at midnight, paid a $10 cover charge (they had a love band, so I was fine with that), bought a beer, then walked to the back to play an hour or so of silver ball. As I began to play, nobody else was playing them, one of the staff started turning off the machines. He was nice and said they usually turn them off at that time. I told him I only came to play pinball. He said "OK, can you turn them on/off as you play them." I said "No problem at all" Then things went badly! Another security staff member came up to me and said "Hey, you can't play these, they turn off at 12:30 am". I informed him I had already talked to the other guy and he had told me to just turn them off when I finished each game. Which I had been doing. About 5 minutes later, the second security staff came up and said "This is your last game, turn it off". I restated to him again the agreement I'd had with the first guy. He said "I don't care, turn it off". At that point, I asked to speak with the manager. I explained what had occurred, and her basic reply was, "That's our policy." I then asked why there weren't any posted sign sayings, "Pinball machine turn off at 12:30 PM". She then replied "We aren't required to post signs" I decided their idea of customer service was extremely lacking, and decided to leave. I will never return and plan on letting everyone I know in the small but tight-knit pinball community to avoid this place at all cost. read more
