After estimating the task, he came back as scheduled, had the parts sent to our home, and completed the job. I assumed it was another spammer trying to get my credit card information. When I didn't send the $, they cancelled my appointment. When I called them 3 times, they wanted me to talk to an AI agent!! Be forewarned - lake appliance repair is incompetent and cannot perform the most basic of diagnostics or repair. My experience: I bought a new GE fridge from American Freight for my condo in McCall. I plugged it in and it didn't cool down. I called GE and they called Lake appliance repair. They said they only go to McCall every three weeks. So in three weeks a kid shows up with a backpack. After ten minutes he says "good news, the compressor relay switch is not plugged in and I reseated it. It will work fine now, give it 24 hrs." Within an hour I knew it wasn't working so I called them to catch the kid before leaving town. Of course he didn't answer when the switchboard tried to reach him. They gave me a new appointment for another three weeks later. They also ordered a new compressor to be shipped to me. So I began calling repair shops to fix it sooner. Coulter repair in McCall came out promptly and discovered the compressor worked fine but there was no R600 refrigerant in the unit. He said since it was new, he recommended they replace it under warranty. Three weeks later, Lake Appliance Repair makes it out again. Same kid, same backpack, same cursory review. He says he agreed there was no refrigerant and put some in. "I waited ten minutes and the pressure is holding with no leaks." He told me. Again he assured me it's working and claimed "they just forgot to put refrigerant in at the factory, sometimes that happens." He took the compressor replacement with him. Three weeks later, the fridge stops cooling. Apparently the R600 all leaked out. At this point, I can't go any longer without a fridge. I called up Home Depot and had a new one delivered. They moved the now non-working fridge to my garage. I then call up GE warranty assuming I can get a refund and give the fridge back to them. "We do repair or replacement only." They tell me. "And we can't replace it unless repair determines it can't be repaired." So I say fine, send repair so they can determine it's not repairable and issue a replacement which I'll sell or use somewhere else. So GE calls - guess who? Lake Appliance Repair. They scheduled an appointment for, guess when? Over three weeks away. Then, they call back and say that the technician is unavailable three weeks from now and can only do it within the next three days. Mind you it's thanksgiving. I tell them okay fine. Here is a code to get in. They then email me after 6pm to let me know that because I had someone else look at the fridge (who correctly diagnosed it when they could not), they must have "tampered" with it. So they refuse to come out at all and to call GE for someone else. Of course I'll now have to wait two days to call since it's the holidays as they are not open. It apparently doesn't matter that they were the last ones to work on the fridge. If anything is considered "tampered with" or broke, it would be them and they are legally responsible for any damage. Also, per advice I've since received, Lake Appliance Repair is demonstrably incompetent. Why? Because they should have tested the system with a vacuum pump on day one. They should have used a leak detector and tightened all the fittings and brought welding tools, flux and copper lines to make any leak repairs. But the kid that came out appeared to bring none of that with him. At this point I'm glad they refused to repair the unit because I want off their circus merry-go-round. read more

We had our dryer and fridge developing problems at the same time. Lake Appliance was assinged to handle the repairs, and we are very happy with the outcome! Raymond, who was our Service Tech, was very professional, and quickly determined the problems. He then took time explaining what broke and why, and how we can prolong the life of those appliances. When the replacement parts arived a few days later, he was able to accommodate our schedule, and repair everything on Saturday morning. Everything is working great now! I would definitely recommend Lake Appliance, and Raymond in particular, to anyone who needs quick and professional repair, with great attitude and customer service! read more

I have a set of Samsung washer/dryer electronic machines. They are both fantastic, and I have never had a problem with either one of the machines until recently. I have had them for more than five years, but after several moves and many loads of laundry, the dryer has accumulated a lot of lint that I could not reach. After smelling a burning smell, I quickly called the company and got recommended to this local electronics firm. For a reasonable cost, I scheduled an appointment ASAP, and they were out within a few days. After the repair, it was like a brand new machine. Thank you so much for the wonderful service! read more

This business was contracted by a warranty service to come out and conduct a repair on my refrigerator on Friday between 0800 and 1200. Instead of keeping the appointment time, they called and told us that they only come out to my end of the valley once every two weeks. The refrigerator is not operational. At all. And they want me to wait an additional two weeks to get someone to just look at it?! Completely unacceptable. What this company is saying is that someone who lives outside of the Boise/ Meridian area is not important enough to keep an appointment with period. Regardless of the need for repair in a reasonable amount of time. To be clear, Lake rescheduled my appointment because they can't be bothered to come out to my end of the valley but once every two weeks. I'm understanding about staffing issues and sympathetic to them as well. However, Lake would do well to not place blame on the customer for their shortages in manpower and look first to how they conduct business. Don't lie to me or make excuses. Lake made a statement on Google Reviews that stated "It's unfortunate that people are not more understanding." This was a direct reference to our review. It was deeply offensive, especially since the central issue is NOT that they were dealing with manpower shortages due to employees getting sick (or not wanting to work, as is the common excuse out of employers who pay poorly and treat their employees poorly), but that you only visit this end of the valley EVERY TWO WEEKS!!!!!!!!! This company has displayed a disgusting lack of integrity and ownership. Here's some advice for you... from a veteran... Take ownership... those who work for you and those who use your services will respect you because you show the character qualities that display the ability to take ownership and have integrity. My brand new GE Monogram Microwave had issues with the opening mechanism. After determining the root cause was the hinge inside the unit, Rich was able to install the new replacement door and now the release mechanism works as it should have from the factory. I'm updating my review after calming down. I have thought about it and I'll update my review to 3.5 stars, the staff was responsive, although they couldn't fix my washer or dryer, another appliance company came out for the washer and it's finally working and quietly. The dryer? Well the 2nd appliance company couldn't fix it either so Maytag is replacing my dryer and I'll get a new one with a new warranty. It was frustrating to buy and have new appliances delivered in December 2022 and pretty much every month in 2023 needing repairs to either and both appliances. So the new dryer is coming and I hope it works well. That's all I wanted, laundry machines that would work reliably. So the bad machines were Maytag problems. Attempting to fix and drag the inevitable out for a year was frustrating for both me and lake appliance. They should have declared the dryer dead on the phone with Maytag so I could have been a happier customer months ago. So to the men that came out...you couldn't fix it but instead of fighting for me to get a new dryer, I was told I would have to live with it. Nope. Others may take that response but not me. They argue and lie to you over the phone instead of help a customer in need. I called on to Lake appliance to have my Jen-Air gas counter top stove looked at, it had been tagged by the gas company due to a gas leak. The service person came ti my home promptly on the appointment date, a couple of days later and took care of the problem in a very timely matter. I was so happy I didn't have yo purchase a new stove. He also fixed one of my burners that was not working correctly. Once he ordered the part since it was defective, and came back a few days later the burner was back in business. He was punctual and was prepared to look at our dryer immediately. He diagnosed the problem and tried to fix it on the spot. He was extremely knowledgeable and even cleaned some of the problem areas. Most horrible customer service experience ever!! I do NOT recommend this business. I had purchased a new Maytag washing machine for my 85 year dad who lives on the oregon/idaho border. His caretaker and he had no problems with it for the first few weeks, but then the machine starting stopping on the spin cycle. It did this for EVERY LOAD, EVERY TIME and did it even when the basket was empty. We called whirlpool for warranty service and they sent Lake Appliance. The technician informed my dad's caretaker that they were not loading the laundry properly and the machine was working fine. Wouldn't listen to what she was saying and he left. I called Whirlpool back to ask for a different technician. Due to the holidays this stretched out to weeks, and they had no one available, and so on. But they assured us they would escalate and send someone else. Finally got an appt on 12/29, but unbeknown to us, it was the SAME technician that was being sent. 12/29 arrives and we are waiting for the tech, the company sends an app to track where he is and at 4:00 we see he is on our call. We are last in the queue. He never shows, there is no phone call. I call the company several times the next hour asking for a status. and they promise to call back and never do. On the next open business day, Jan 2nd, I call back to find out what happened. A manager finally calls me and informs me that the technician is refusing to service and that Lake Appliance will not be servicing at all. He tells me to call Whirlpool back and ask for a different company and tech (which is what my original ask to them was). The manager barely apologized for not calling on that friday. I felt like he was acting as if we had done something wrong asking for a second opinion on service. I felt like we were strung along and deliberately left hanging for a week on purpose. If they didn't want to provide service, they could have at any point declined and declined to whirlpool. I feel that this company is very unprofessional and has poor attitude. I am not impressed with their ability to troubleshoot satisfactorily and to resolve. I suggest that technician get more training on how to troubleshoot and also coaching on customer listening skills and how to behave professionally overall. In the meantime, my dad's provider is taking his laundry to her house and machine, which is a similar machine. It seems to spin cycle just fine. read more

I've had these guys out three different times to repair my washer. still not fixed and it's been a month.

My dryer broke over a month ago. We bought it in September and lasted 6 months so we were still under warrant. I will warn you scheduling service was a nightmare. I was given 1 day then rescheduled to another day and the 3rd time I was beyond frustrate because we are without a dryer and a family of 5. When the tech guy finally comes out he's done in less than 30 mins and i was told the part would be ordered to wait to receive then call to schedule. Finally the part comes and i schedule the service and take time off since someone over 18 has to be there, only to be called 3 days before that they had to cancel and reschedule. I told the guy who called the issues I've had about being rescheduled 3 times and now this marks a 4th reschedule and I'm basically having to work around their schedule and call off work only for them to call and cancel. Now I have to wait another 2 weeks for repair! This has been the worst experience read more

Technician Giao did an awesome job repairing our dishwasher. He came out and assessed what was wrong and took his time, and noticed that the motor also needed replaced. He didn't hurry through the appointment like most technicians probably would have and would have missed a couple of things. When he came to complete the repairs the next week. They were done in a timely manner and he had no problems. Took his shoes off before coming into the house and layed a towel down on the floor to not scratch our brand new floors. I don't know how much of the problem I had was the fault of Lake and how much was the fault of Sears. I had a Kenmore all in one washer/dryer that was under warranty, and Sears sent out Lake to do the work. When the Technician arrived he changed a part but that didn't fix it. Then he had to start all sorts of E-mailing and calling Sears thec support to try and get someone to talk him through how to diagnose and service it, because the techonlogy is so new few repairmen have ever seen it before. That set off the biggest most frustrating run around I have had in a long time. Lake kept telling me I had to contact Sears, which is impossible. then Sears sent me a bunch of parts, and scheduled Lake to come out. They never showed and they never called. When I called them they said they had canceled my appoinment because they were waiting on a part. this happened about four times. I also got told the repair was so complex it needed two techs to fix it. I got canceled afew times over that as well. Finally they got out and needed a bunch more parts. They left after saying they would be back next day. Next day no call, no show. When I called they told me Sears had decided to replace my unit and I had to get ahold of them. At no time did Lake call or get in contact with me about anything. Every time I dealt with them I had to call them. Once I did it was long phone trees, long hold times, and people who had no clue as to what they were doing, or what was going on. Nearly two years later and my unit is now out of warranty, not replaced and not fixed. Going to be disposing of it in the next few days. So the point of it all is never buy any Sears product, not really a problem, since Sears is bankrupt, and most of the stores are closed, also don't use Lake Appliance Repair because they are a bunch of incompetent, inconsiderate, imbeciles! read more

I have a near new Whirlpool too load washer. It started making an unbelievable noise at spin cycle. Called whirlpool and they dispatched Lake Appliance. My first tech was nit too savy and wasted two weeks of our time without a washer. The next tech Tony M. Was fantastic. Knew the problem, reordered correct parts to find out major part was on factory backorder. I was lucky and received the part sooner than expected. Tony came back and took care of us quickly, professionally and showed me what failed. I had a terrible interaction with "Taylor" when i called to reschedule, she was rude and incredibly short and seemed as if she felt her job was to argue or demean the customer. If not for Tony and the the rest of the customer service team (Alexis was awesome) this could have turned out very different. Thanks Tony and Alexis!!! read more

Honestly, I'll go with these guys again. They booked me a time for a Friday, then called me on a Thursday to see if a time slot that just opened for them would work for me (unfortunately I was on the other line), but they showed up on that Friday (on time), diagnosed my issue in no time, quoted me a price, and scheduled me for a repair of my Whirlpool refrigerator. The tech (forgot his name) was super knowledgeable, he explained basically how the appliance worked and what was wrong with it, and we even shot the proverbial sh!t while he worked. The whole process was pretty headache-free. Now, I have appliance people, so that's comforting. read more
