Another dining opportunity in Romeo. My son and I tried the Romeo Family restaurant with good results. He had the kid's pancakes which came with bacon (or sausage) and juice (or milk). I chose the Ultimate skillet which was ham, sausage, peppers, onions, cheddar cheese with 3 eggs and hash browns. I skipped the spinach. It came with a choice of toast too. It could have used some spice, but was otherwise sound, good diner fare. More than enough to feed a hungry duo. Service was quick and kind. No complaints. Well one complaint, but not tied to the restaurant. I must say, if you've had a hard day at the local engine plant or, maybe, your backwoods meth lab, please wash up ahead of dinner. A customer who was seated near us after we ordered had piercing body odor. I'm fortunate I had a cold but the fragrance still snuck through my abused nasal passages. My friend and I stopped in last Sunday. We have never been here before. Every other place we went to had a really long wait for brunch. The parking lot was full and we thought this place would be the same. The hostess told us it would only be a couple minute wait. I think my jaw hit the floor at this point. We were indeed seating in less then 2 minutes. They had two separate menus for breakfast and lunch. We both picked lunch. I had the Michigan Cherry Chicken Wrap and a cup of lemon rice soup. Nearly a week later and I am still thinking about that wrap! Chicken salad with spinach, walnuts, cherries, feta cheese (comes with bleu cheese) and raspberry vinaigrette. Delicious! Looked at my credit card statement a few days later and they added an additional $6 to a $17 meal. My friend also had his changed from $20 to $23. They will never get a chance to steal from me again! My mom and I dined at Romeo Family Restaurant just after St. Patrick's Day and I got lucky to be able to try their Irish Benedict which was delicious! The portion was filling and the eggs were perfectly poached. I also got a side of bacon and it was thicker cut and a decent size portion. They had a good variety of jams, jellies, and butters to choose from as well. (I love marmalade and apple butter and not every breakfast establishment Carrie's them!) I'd be remiss if I did not mention that our server was attentive and our coffee never got cold while we dined. Worth getting here early to beat the weekend rush. Dropped by Saturday night around 7pm. First time coming here...we stopped on our way to downtown Rochester to check out the lights. Restaurant was packed and is smaller inside then it looks outside however we were seated quickly and the waitstaff was attentive and quick to greet us. The menu is standard family fare with something for everyone. We had the chicken noodle soup, chopped sirloin, fish and chips and a few kids meals. Located on the outskirts of Romeo, this is without a doubt the premier breakfast location in the area. When you're sick and tired of seeing nothing but avocado toast and Bloody Mary bars on the menu, this is the place for you. You absolutely CANNOT go wrong ordering the French toast. It is a timeless dish that the chefs at Romeo Family have spent ages perfecting. In my opinion, this is their Mona Lisa. This dish is Michael Jordan closing his eyes while shooting free throws, a can't miss. This will always be my favorite breakfast spot in Romeo. A truly iconic establishment. This is a great family diner. I stopped in to sober up after Cider Dayze at Blake's. The restaurant is very large with plenty of booths. The server was quick to greet us at our table and grab us some drinks. I saw "Thanksgiving Dinner" on the menu and got so excited. I love fresh turkey, but not many restaurants serve it. I went for that and Jacob ordered a sandwich. Prices were reasonable. Our dinners came up quickly. I really liked the turkey and gravy, but it could use a little salt (what diner actually uses salt?) but that's about it. Jacob liked his sandwich but we laughed that they just threw a bag of chips on the plate instead of dumping the bag next to the sandwich. Friendly staff, very accommodating and attentive. The food came quickly to the table a bit too quickly the toast was cold and barely toasted. The flavor on the farmers omelette was good but very little content. The hash browns were good. The place is noisy in the menus difficult to read with the colors and the size the type not impressed. You get charged for a three egg omelette even if you only want two, not great if you cannot eat that much. These issues are management philosophy not exactly customer oriented. But I do have to complement the staff once again try it for yourself. By the way, they don't take Amex either. read more

I really like the breakfasts at the Romeo Family Restaurant. I usually get the Healthy For You Omelette that is made with Vegetables and Egg Whites. My one complaint is that I always get rye toast with it and the toast is usually burnt. Even tonight when I specifically asked the waitress to make sure that the toast was not burnt!! We lost power during the August 29 storm/tornado, so decided to do carry out at this restaurant. The food wasn't bad, nothing exceptional but tasted fine. My problem was with the three cheese ravioli. For $12 I got 5 ravioli, and two of them were hollow, no cheese at all. The raviolis were round and about 2 inches across. It was very disappointing. We've eaten here several times and the food is very hit or miss. I've ordered a variety of items and about 50% of them were good with the other 50% being disappointing, usually in taste. This is the first time I've had an issue with the quantity. The Caesar salad was pretty good, and the garlic toast just average. It could definitely have been better. read more

Pros: clean inside and they have good decor. Everyone was friendly and nice. Service was quick, they were not very busy on a Friday morning. Link Sausage was good. Cons: the hash browns tasted as if they were once frozen, like freezer burn. They were under cooked as well. Bacon was not crispy at all. Bacon has to be crispy to be good. Pancakes were just boring pancakes, not fluffy or moist. It is what it is, an ok place to eat that is local. If I ever eat lunch or dinner I will edit based on that. read more

Still good but prices have increased as most other restaurants. Daily specials are good but higher prices for higher price selections. Miss some of the old specials like stuffed cabbage or shish kebabs. Still one of the best places in town. read more
