This is a go to spot for my parents so I joined them for lunch today and it was great! Quick service and the prices seemed pretty good. My dad got a cheeseburger, my mom got a patty melt, and I had pancakes and cheese fries. My meal was very good! They have log cabin brand maple syrup and I do wish they had different syrup but it was fine! The cheese fries were awesome. Exactly what I was craving and I love that they have battered fries. Located in the shopping center where the Salvation Army is off 15 mile and Dodge Park Road. Plenty of parking. The ambiance is very inviting. The seating is plentiful and comfortable. The menu offers a wide array of different foods. We came around 11am and decided to order breakfast; all was cooked perfectly and was delicious. Our server was OK; she would have been better had she not decided to chat for 15 minutes with her friends in the booth behind us vs asking us if we wanted more coffee (yes, please) and if she smiled for us the same as she smiled for and greeted her friends...but whatever. I used to love going here for dinner - great food and service. But recently one waitress is so terrible when you go to order, that she seems in a hurry and never asks what other stuff do you want with your dinner. If you ask for water with no ice, you get water with ice. Ask for extra napkins, and you may have to ask maybe 2 more times. I was about to leave no tip, but another waitress seemed more concerned about my lousy service and listened to my rant, so I left her 1/2 of the $3 tip I was going to give my waitress. The design was very cute, and the service was pretty good. It did take a while to be greeted and sat... but service after that was pretty good. The reason I'm giving less than 3 stars is because I ordered poached eggs (they were not poached, yolks were completely firm), bacon, and toast. The toast had basically zero butter on it, and none in front of me to add more. And lastly, there was a piece of visible egg shell on my dish. On a normal day, I'd mention something, and get it rectified. However, there are just some days we don't have the time. It was my work lunch break. I don't really have intentions of going back. And lastly, I found the pricing to be very steep for overcooked eggs, mediocre toast, and an eggshell on my dish. It was below diner standards, and above diner pricing. read more

The hungries hit when the hungries hit. We happened to be value shopping in the Sal at the time. We've been here dozens of times so it's a no brainier. First off, it looks renovated or remodeled since our last visit. It's cleaner and more inviting. Good on them. Today's service was head over heels and all the staff were a lot of fun. For most of us it was sandwich day. Mrs. E. insists on the Chicken Greek salad. This is actually a solid choice. They use an awesome marinade which makes the grilled chicken explode with flavour. The salad is huge with pepperoncinis and tasty beets. I'm not a fan of their red onion, but it does help establish the uniqueness of the salad. Bill Clay ordered the western omelette, which is legendary. The secret there is the size pieces they cut the ham and veggies into. They're also sautéed separately then added to the eggs. Back to those sandwiches, The Rueben Daddy was decent as was the Turkey Club. The show stealer, for me, was the dPark Grilled Chicken and the Corned Beef & Swiss on rye. They grilled the green pepper on these sandwiches which tweaks the taste just so. The coneys and loose burger items are fantastic and the kiddos love the chicken tenders and the dipping sauces. The crumb crunchers create them by themselves. I think they invent a different option each visit. Truly a well kept secret, DPC offers possibly the best value in metro Detroit. Their covid protocol is on point. They have every other table taped off so you can't be seated there. They have hand sanitizer at the front door, the waitress wear masks, and they had people wait outside if there weren't enough tables. Prices are good, as is their food. Our omelettes were enormous. They gave me no issue trading out hashbrowns for tomato slices, and my boyfriend raved about the biscuits and gravy. Great little diner, with friendly staff. read more

Everything was amazing during this visit to Dodge Park Coney Island. We all enjoyed our food very much. The portions were very large and everything was cooked to perfection. Our waitress was very friendly and checked up on us several times. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I was also digging the vibe because they were playing some nice 80s jams. Many people just love to complain!!! I guess it must make them feel important!! I've been going here since it opened, and it is, without a doubt, the BEST coney I've ever been in!!! Food is always hot and plentiful!! Prices haven't increased as much as most restaurants. A greasy Breakfast at McDonalds cost more then the huge breakfast you get here!!! Prices have increased everwhere but DP Coney continues to put out the Best breakfast around!!! Never any service issues either. If you need something, just ask!! They will happy to get it for you. Used to be really good food and restaurant looks nice BUT ordered 4 gyro to go which we could not finish so bad. Tons of diced yellow onions and tomatoes in small pieced with three thin and dry pieces of meat. Where was the meat, red onions and tomatoes sliced. What a disappointment! read more

Absolutely the worst service I've ever received. So walked in to be seated, there were two people seated at the counter and one other table, the place was slow. It took at least 10-15 minutes to order, after 30 minutes i heard the waitress say to the cook "are you kidding me" the cook for whatever reason decided he was either not going to cook or was going extremely slow, so we walked out. This place is my new go-to coney since we moved to the area. It's a small place so occasionally there's a wait, but usually you can slide into an open table or booth. The staff is great and so friendly, and the food is righteous. Prices are great and you always get a good amount of food. It's a pretty standard menu, with some surprises. My wife told me about this place as she had heard from some friends that the food was quite good, so today when we had an urge for a coney dog I looked them up on line (I couldn't find a web page and the menu linked here as some incorrect prices). When I found their phone number I called and discovered they were open (it is June 13th, ,2020 as I write this) and asked about their menu, then called them back once I figured out what we wanted to order for carry out. As it turns out, the food was quite good as we were told and the portions as generous as you normally see with a true cony island. I ended up ordering the chicken stir fry and was happy to find out that it was as good as any I have had and there was way too much for me to eat in one setting (when I was younger I would have eaten it all in one sitting, but with age comes wisdom). My wife had the coney special and my son had the gyro pita. We also had the chili cheese fries and onion rings. I didn't have the chili cheese fries as I focused on the stir fry. I may reheat and try some tomorrow. :) One thing I liked as I approached the restaurant was I noticed their outdoor seating area. On a nice day I can see us having a coney and sitting under the covered open air area. The interior was brightly lit, super clean, and had plenty of seating. The mirrors on the walls to the left and right made the dining area look much larger than it was, and helped make it brighter with the southern exposure allowing the sunshine in.
