Another company told me the handles were beyond repair and needed to be replaced and quoted me $300, but Jayden fixed it for half that.

I noticed a post on Nextdoor asking for handyman recommendations. There were a bunch of replies,…read morebut only 5 that seemed to match my criteria. I did research online for those 5. There was only 1 that had what I was looking for in a handyman company. Included in my list of requirements was BBB registration, insurance to protect customers and very positive reviews on all the main sites (Angi, Yelp, Google, etc.). It was also important that the 'company' be more than one person and have experience in the projects that I was interested in doing. Only one of those companies checked all the boxes: Welter Home Services. I called them and spoke with Kevin about our current and future needs. We had 3 projects. I wanted to do one to be sure I was pleased with their work (I was) before starting the other two. Kevin explained what labor and materials we needed to complete the job. He provided a detailed estimate with all materials and labor stated. Our first project was the replacement of a kitchen pantry door - including the whole door frame, hardware and trim. This required removing the old door, frame and trim - and painting the new door, frame and trim. On the agreed upon date, a Welter HS employee showed up at our door exactly on time. He was very pleasant and helpful. He completed the project, checked his work and made some touchups where the appearance as not "perfect", then did a great job of cleaning up the area he had worked in. We are very pleased with Welter HS and the work they completed for us: on time and for the price they quoted. We are moving forward with the next two projects and are looking forward to getting them completed with the same quality and professionalism that they applied to this first project.

Their expert analysis is I have excess water due to seeing a dirty gutter and per the work order they sealed it properly and I should have done it again by now. I've had concrete done before. Neighbors on the street have had concrete w/ similar driveways and I've never seen similar deterioration. Additionally and of course it was out of warranty. 2. On the day of the concrete pour I was informed the original design for the porch wouldn't work bc of our slope which we discussed at nauseum bc I knew it was a concern but again they were clearly not qualified. 3. I had to stop them mid-brick work in the back because they knocked down the existing brick and started to rebuild it the exact same way. I had to re-explain the new design to the team. Additionally they didn't slant it correctly or allow for the water to drain into the grass so after big rains excess water builds and slowly drains through unless I get out there to push it out. 4. They thought the brick around the grill in the pic below was an acceptable finish. (My entire neighborhood can see my backyard due to the way it sits btw). I asked them to replace the dark bricks to make it uniform and were given cracked and chipped replacements. At least its one color now I guess. Overall super disappointing experience because, we did our driveway one summer, landscaping the next, and just had our siding redone this spring and now the driveway is embarrassing.

I have used them a few times now and every time it has been exceptional service and pricing! They take care of everything while on site. He lubricates everything and does not try and sell you parts you dont need. And the stuff you will need is a good price. My wife tells me after every service visit how curtious and thurough they are. It's the little things that I appreciate, I havent had a working light bulb on the opener in years. I have a new light bulb now. I didnt ask and was not charged. He did it because he thought it would be nicer to pull in at night. He was correct. read more

I have used Lake County Door for years! My home door and when my springs broke after 18 years of use they were out the next day and replaced them very reasonable! Have used them at my work for over 20 years and they bend over backwards to take care of us. As for Julie in the office, she is awesome and keeps the guys in line. Very courteous and on top of things. They just took care of my son's new house where they replaced springs and put in an opener! Awesome job guys! Super service. Julie was awesome, I called several times on the point of annoying and she was quite professional too. The installer "Eric" was too the best, he matched the door color and when they ordered the door and informed me of the date of installation, that was the exact date of installation, there was no issues with paint, back orders, etc. I wasn't even there for the install. read more

I had a good experience with this company this morning and I wanted to share. I hadn't used them…read morebefore, but they are local which I like, and the reviews I found were positive. My electric garage door was jammed and I called them yesterday afternoon, and spoke to Nathan, the owner who was personable and straightforward. He showed up this morning promptly at 8, as agreed. He assessed the situation, found the reason for the malfunction, and also pointed out some other important issues that needed to be addressed. Nathan quoted me a price, which I thought reasonable, and he got to work. One of these issues was the mounting bracket where the apparatus attaches to the door. There was a cheap little bracket there, which was the wrong part for this door. He ended up installing a heavy duty bracket, which looked much more suitable for a door of this weight. He also put new and stronger brackets that hold the motor up. What was there before was too lightweight for this application. He fixed what he said he would, and also did some other extra things like cleaning up the loose wires from the original installation. He lubed the door thoroughly and now the door operation is much quieter! He was also very forthcoming with maintenance tips and explaining how the door works. Nathan is obviously quite skilled, and he's also a nice guy, and I'm so glad I picked Black Oak for this work! I encourage others in our community to use this great local source for their garage door needs!
