I finally found my go-to electrician and it is Sean Homem owner of Pro City Electric…read more I contacted other electrical repair and maintenance companies about installing a remote-controlled electrical cut-off switch for my home. They all sounded interested until I sent the specs detailing what was involved and then they disappeared. I continued my search and, based on reviews and on testimonials on Nextdoor, I called Pro City Electric and got owner Sean Homem. He understood immediately what was involved in the project. He explained that cut-off systems are used for safety purposes in some commercial settings, where he had installed them. I wanted an extensive residential system covering many circuits to lower my EMF exposure. Within a few days, Shawn installed the system and it was fascinating to watch the process. At one point, he had so many electrical lines in hand, it resembled a stylist about to plait a river of braids in a client's hair. I've found that one sign of a good tradesperson is their ability to come up with creative and non-destructive solutions to problems on the job. I became concerned when Shawn uncovered an electrical cord in the wall that would obstruct the installation of the control box. There was no slack for tying It off to the side. I had to make a brief phone call and when I came back I saw that Shawn had created a narrow channel in the wood paneling and taped the cord into it.  When all was done, Shawn then relocated a light switch in my garage while I tried out my new remote-controlled cut-off system. It works beautifully and at a fair price. To further lower my EMF exposure, I next hired Shawn to install grounding rod electrodes to properly ground my existing electrical panel, which had not been properly grounded to code. This correction significantly lowered the total EFM levels, which I began to feel immediately in symptom reduction. I'm pleased to finally have an experienced and intelligent electrician to rely on.

They upgraded our main service panel and did an incredible job of untangling the old rats' nest and neatly and carefully bringing in all of the wires to the new panel. There were some issues with the old wiring to correct, so it was not straightforward. They spent a lot of time making sure that everything looked neat and professional, and correctly labeled all of our circuits. Adam did an incredible job tidying up other cables near the panel and making sure that everything looked as professional as possible. Our style of home presented some unique challenges, so it was very reassuring to work with a team who was familiar with mid-century homes like Eichlers. Jason was able to develop a plan that met all of our needs and worked within the constraints of the home, which we really appreciated. The time that he spent planning ahead of the job paid off, as everything went very smoothly on the day of the panel upgrade so we had minimal power disruption. When we ran into a last minute scheduling issue because the city was no longer available on the inspection date, Jason was able to schedule us even sooner than planned to ensure that everything was ready for the inspector and PG&E the next day. We were so grateful and impressed that they were able to make everything work out on short notice. They did such a great job that we hired them again to install a Span subpanel in our garage. They were well trained and certified on the Span panel so they got it up and running smoothly. They did a beautiful job with the installation, with Adam focusing mostly on the panel and AJ laying 50 feet of conduit in a trench to get from the main service to the subpanel. It was a lot of work, but again the careful planning, knowledge, and expertise of the team helped everything go smoothly and very fast. We had multiple inspections through the course of this work and the feedback from the inspectors was all very positive. No need to make changes or corrections, they did everything right the first time. Every day the team showed up on time and did great work. Their pricing is competitive and they serve most of the bay area, so we have already recommended Anderholm Electric to friends and family. One great advantage to working with Jason is that he provides his estimate during the visit, so there is no need to wait around for several days as is common with other companies. I also like working with a smaller company so I knew exactly who would be coming to complete the work and the high quality of their references ahead of time. I have found larger companies to be hit or miss since you get a different person every time. Anderholm Electric does great work and we look forward to hiring them again for our next project. I submitted an estimate online through yelp and all of a sudden, I got tons of messages from…read morevarious electricians in the area who can assist. Amp Champ Electric sent me a message and I called them. John was very responsive and came same day! In fact from what I described to him over the phone (under kitchen sink electric plug doesn't work after it got wet) he already diagnosed the problem. When he came out, he was correct! The GFCI was shut off and all he had to do was go to the control panel and reset everything. He showed us the the kitchen reset have now moved over to the solar control panels versus the old house control panels. It was a quick visit but he got the job done! Thank you! PS: I have done various research and his price is fair. Lady B Electric wanted to do an emergency visit and that was just $200 to come out. Michael Leasure also reached out and spoke with their office manager who would pass my info to Mike. I never heard back from them. APG Electric was going out of town and couldn't book me til 2 weeks later. Seems like electricians in the area are all booked and busy or flaky and dont respond.
