Made it to the newly opened Lake Drive Tavern over the weekend and WOW - were we impressed! We attempted to visit the weekend of the grand opening without a res but that was just silly on our part so we made a reservation for the following Saturday night. We got a great table by the window with amazing views of the lake. The restaurant was packed to the brim with many hanging by the bar. As soon as you open the door and enter, you can feel the energy in the room - and it was loud! Ha! We tried the Jumbo Shrimp and Chorizo and Betz's Pork Chop for dinner. The shrimp and chorizo was not what I had pictured in my head but was delicious. I normally wouldn't order a pork chop while out (I didn't!) but I had to take a bite and it was excellent with cremini mushrooms. For dessert, we shared the goat cheese cheesecake which came with bruleed pineapple. This is just what we needed in Wayne - dinner with a view! There aren't many place to go around here with outdoor dining so I was very excited to hear that LDT was opening. I've already got my next meal here in mind - there were lots of options on that menu that intrigued me!

Very cute location. It was pretty busy for a rainy day. There is a back room but it doesn't have a view. They tried to put us there. The lake is only for looking, only residents can use it. The clam chowder was good but my burger was even better. The drinks were well made as well. Hopefully I can come on a sunny day. They open for lunch on May 5th.

Went on opening day. Beautiful location and view of the lake. Sat at the bar with a friend. We shared a burger (came out medium rare and not medium) We also shared the fried calamari ( was so excited to see it was gluten free). Some of the calamari was very salty. The VIP which is their pineapple drink was bland and boring. My 2nd drink had jalapeño in it and it was delicious. Prices were slightly high for area. Hoping they add Happy Hour specials in soon. Overall great experience for opening day and would go back.

[Blowing on my nails.] The menu is a mix of American comfort food and gastropub classics, but with flair, and has a bit of everything to satisfy different palates. Our eyes were probably bigger than our stomachs as we ordered 2 apps, 2 entrees, and 2 cocktails, and it was an enormous amount of food. The portions are definitely what you'd call hearty, and everything was very tasty. Thursdays are all day happy hour so we picked the fried calamari appetizer at the HH price (still a full and generous plate and didn't seem like a downsized version) which were tender and well-battered, as well as the hot honey wings which were meaty and substantial. The short rib parpadelle with housemade pasta and a perfectly medium-rare, well seasoned hanger steak with truffle fries completed our satisfying and belly-stuffing meal. The cocktails are serious as well - the presence of a drink with egg white is my personal litmus test for a bar that knows what it's doing, so the Thyme to Bloom special had my name on it. I'm salivating just looking at photos of dishes I didn't order, and am already plotting my return!

We did finally get drinks and shortly after we're told a table was available. It took quite a while before our waitress showed up. Since we already had drinks she was ready to walk away but we wanted to order a pretzel. She took the order, pretzel arrived more than 15 mins later, but it was delicious. It was good we had something to munch on cause our dinner, 2 burgers and a flatbread, arrived 45 mins later. The burgers were wrong, she said she had 2 Cali burgers. My husband ordered a cheeseburger, I did order the Cali. I took one, they sent the other back for correction. Once I went to eat mine I realized it was not a Cali burger. That had to be returned also. Both burgers were ordered medium rare, they were cooked well done. My friend did enjoy her flatbread. The manager did come by with a half hearted apology. She offered free dessert, we're not dessert eaters so did not accept the offer. Looking back, we should gave taken dessert to go. I wouldn't go back. I felt not one employee offered good service.

Like the brewpub, Silk City Distillery had been on my wish list, and it was not until I arrived at Ghost Hawk that I noticed that they were adjacent to each other, allowing me to check both off at once. The tasting room was adorned with barrels that were holding their vast selection of spirits, such as bourbon, whisky, rum, gin, vodka, and more. They also offered a handful of regular and high-top tables, which we were easy to obtain on that afternoon (given the outdoor options as well), but typically reservations were recommended. Though the seating was comfortable, the temperature was not. In fact, it was freezing in there, and we, along with a lot of other parties, switched tables multiple times to find the best fit. We approached the counter to order from their lengthy cocktail list, which included standard and more custom cocktails. I decided on their rendition of a Lime Rickey, asking for it to be made with their gin. The tart, sour, and sweet drink was light and refreshing. I enjoyed each sip so much that I wound up getting a second round. While many distilleries offer a few types of alcohol and a handful of cocktails, the Silk City Distillery went above and beyond with their vast array of options. Any connoisseur should enjoy the place!

I had my back to the bar, but from what I was able to see this is a very cozy place. Service was quick and attentive, and we did not feel rushed and were able to enjoy a pleasant time chatting. Drinks: the black walnut Manhattan, Fig jam old fashioned, wine , beer and port. Drinks were all excellent, i tasted the Manhattan and enjoyed it over the Fig Jam. For apps: Clams oreganato (the couple with us enjoyed this), flat bread (was much more like pizza than flat bread, but still tasty, per my husband), and on the special New England Clam Chowder which was very good, not too thick and decent and fresh clams in it. Entrees: Shrimp Risotto scampi, very flavorful Risotto cooked perfectly. Two of us ordered the Cajun Mahi Mahi, over spinach with mashed, and 2 shrimp. the Cajun sauce was tasty with the perfect amount of heat, shrimp and mahi-mahi fresh and cooked perfectly. Rigatoni Bolognese which my husband enjoyed and said it was almost as good as my Italian mother's (like a good son-in-law) lol Dessert: Crème Brûlée - Brûlée was perfect, the crème was a little too thick for me. I ate it and enjoyed it, but not the best I've had. My husband ordered the key Lime Pie happy that it did not include nuts in the crust as some do, he thought it was good. Overall we had an enjoyable albeit pricy meal with good service. I would come back if other's wanted to go but it would not be my go to place.

We stopped in mid-week for a family dinner after work and even on a Wednesday the place was buzzing. The restaurant itself is pretty tiny, which makes for a cozy atmosphere but also means tables are very close together. If you can, I'd definitely recommend making a reservation. The menu is somewhat minimal, but the food overall was good. I eat gluten-free and noticed the options were a bit limited, which made ordering slightly challenging. I ended up going with the sea scallops. They were nicely cooked, but the portion was smaller than I expected--five small scallops with some vegetables. For the price, I do wish the portion had been a bit more generous. I have to admit I left still a little hungry. My dad ordered the short rib grilled cheese and really enjoyed it. That was probably the standout dish at our table. My sister ordered the honey bourbon chicken and said it was okay, but afterward she mentioned she probably should have gone with the short rib grilled cheese instead. One surprise of the night was live music on a Wednesday. I usually enjoy live music, but since we were hoping to catch up as a family it made conversation a little difficult. The music was fairly loud for such a small space. Service was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. They also have a rewards program, which worked out nicely--my dad received a complimentary dessert for his birthday. I ordered the crème brûlée, which was a great way to end the meal. A couple practical tips: parking in Ridgewood can be tricky. The restaurant advertises valet parking, though we didn't use or see it during our visit. If you find street parking, make sure to feed the meter because the town is known for giving out tickets. In warmer months they do offer some outdoor sidewalk seating, though it looks fairly limited. It also appears they have a happy hour, though we didn't arrive in time to try it. Overall, I'd recommend checking out Steel Wheel Tavern--just be mindful of the timing of your visit, especially if you're hoping for a quieter dinner.
