I'd been hearing about this place for years and decided to finally try it out. My husband and I went on a weeknight and sat at the bar. We tried a few things. The pork chops were insane. His entree. He loved every bite. I will be going back. Tomorrow actually!

My dish... I think? Mystery meal vibes!

The food? Almost perfect. I mean, if "unsalted and lacking flavor" is your idea of perfect--hey, close enough. The timing? Spot on. The dishes hit the table just when I was about to consider eating the napkin. And the staff? Hovering like caffeinated hummingbirds, asking every five minutes if everything was alright. So you'd think this place deserves a glowing review, right? Wrong. Why? Because "perfect" means flawless, and flawless this was not. First hiccup: when the food arrived, the person bringing it had no clue who ordered what. And, to be fair, neither did I. By the time the dishes made it to the table, I'd already forgotten what I'd ordered. The names on the menu were like Pokémon evolutions--similar but confusing. Long story short, I ended up eating someone else's meal. (It was fine, but was it mine? Who knows.) Then came the payment drama. I asked if they could bring a terminal to the table so I could tap my card like a modern human being. But no, I had to get up and walk to the front to pay at the single PoS system. In 2025, this feels like being asked to churn my own butter. Red flag, folks. Red. Flag. So yeah, there's room for improvement. Until then, this place will remain almost perfect--emphasis on "almost."

Came in on a packed Friday night, our server was the bartender but she was very nice. Drinks were ok I couldn't finish it. I ordered a chicken dish which next time i will go with steak. Chicken and sauce had no seasoning or flavor, artichokes were from a can. Will give another try as I liked the pork chop my cousin ordered.

The food is still great. We had scallops, chorizo, brussels sprouts, and a flounder ceviche special. Everything was delicious. The ceviche in particular stood out -- fresh, well-portioned, and nicely "cooked" in lime juice. The sangria is still a highlight too. A big carafe, no ice watering it down, served with glasses full of fruit. The problem is the service. They had two servers and one bus person, and it showed. Everyone seemed to be scrambling, and it was hard to get a moment of attention to ask for anything or even be heard. Our food came out in pieces -- three items, then a long delay, then another. The last dish, calamari, never came. When I tried to tell the waiter we didn't want it anymore if it was forgotten, he didn't listen and insisted on bringing it anyway. We ended up waiting even longer, which just made the experience more frustrating. To top it off, they're now adding an operating/service fee (around 3-4%), which wasn't clearly communicated and just showed up on the bill. It's disappointing because the food is still very good, but the service issues -- and now the added fees -- are taking away from the experience. After this visit, we'll think twice before coming back.

It's a very casual, cafeteria-style spot with a semi-open kitchen, but don't let the simplicity fool you -- the food is incredible and the staff here is friendly and patient. The highlight of the experience is the small buffet that features a variety of freshly-made Latin cuisine -- including pulled pork, chicken and beef stews, and other traditional Latin entrees and sides. You can build your own plate by selecting one or more entrees and sides - which are priced accordingly. As a 'gringo' who wasn't entirely sure what everything was, I really appreciated them taking the extra time to explain all the different options and give me their honest recommendations. The counterstaff is bilingual and were pretty patient with my elementary school level Spanish vocabulary and grammar. I ended up going with the pulled pork platter with two sides ($7) and it was terrific -- the perfectly seasoned and tender pork, black beans and rice, and macaroni salad were delicious and very filling. You can tell they use fresh ingredients, and the portions are very generous for the price. If you're looking for authentic, home-style Latino food in a laid-back setting, this is the spot! PRO TIP #1: Bring a bottle of wine or beer from home to enjoy with your meal. Sazon Latino is a BYOB establishment and does not serve alcohol. PRO TIP #2: Sazon Latino offers free off-street parking in a small lot behind the restaurant and there's plenty of free on-street parking on Main Street.

I've been to just about every Noches in Jersey. Sure, sometimes they've fallen short, but I always stayed loyal. This morning I went for takeout and ordered my usual: chorizo, chicharrón, and pan de bono. When I got home and opened the bag, I was honestly shocked. For seven dollars, what I got was basically nothing. The portions were insulting--barely a bite of food--and yet the prices keep climbing higher and higher. I understand costs have gone up, but there's a big difference between fair pricing and blatantly ripping off loyal customers. This was the latter. After all these years of supporting Noches, today felt like a slap in the face. Sadly, you've lost a customer who used to recommend you everywhere. If this is how you treat your regulars now, I can only imagine how first-timers feel.

The wine is sold in half or whole bottles (not glasses), so I opted out this time. The menu is a mix of traditional Spanish tapas as well as American and Latin American mixed in. Our original Resy was canceled due to a change in business hours, so we were offered a complimentary dessert. We tried the cheesesteak empanadas, croquettes, bbq pulled pork arepa, garlic shrimp, octopus, short rib gnocchi and finished with tres leches cake. My favorites were the octopus, shrimp, gnocchi, empanada, and tres leches cake. Croquettes were the least favorite, just not exciting, and they were kind of smashed. The octopus was very tender and enjoyed the sauce and sundried tomatoes that came with it. Everything came out at the right temperature and at a good pace to not overwhelm the table with dishes. The restaurant is dimly lit. I found the booth backs to be very hard and uncomfortable - could use an upgrade. Prices per dish are high for the size, but to be expected with tapas in the states. The food as also good, but our table placed an order of calamari. It came and while the table was eating we noticed a hair in it. We sent it back with the understanding that same would be removed from the bill. We continued enjoying our night. When the bill came, which was over $500, the calamari($17) had not been removed. The waitress said that too much of the calamari had been eaten before we noticed the hair. In all fairness we were close to 1/2 finished when the hair was discovered. We asked for the manager and her took the dish off of our bill. We thought the issue was done, it was not. Out of left field, a member of the 'security' staff came to our table and threatened us with violence and arrest while claiming to be a police officer. It is still unclear what upset him. No one from our table had spoken with him prior. It was such a scene that he made, we decided that it was time to leave. The security person continued and went to the manager to continue. As we were leaving, I asked the manager what the problem was and the security person was still going. He was clearly unhinged and in need of medication. We will never return to this place even though we were having a good time and spent a significant amount of money there. The hair and other mistakes/miscues by the waitress were not even an issue. The treatment from the member of the security staff who should have no interaction with customers was uncalled for and shows a lack of judgement on the manager for poor hiring practices. It also showed the managers lack of control of his employees. Is they how they normally operate? I can't say. We will never know as we will not return. Oddly enough my wife and I during dinner, discussed this restaurant as a possible location for our daughter's 18th birthday dinner later this month. Nope.

Upon entering this warm and cozy interior without a reservation as first-timers, my partner and I managed to locate a table outside on this summer-like day. Juany's Cafe is a cozy, family-run establishment making a great impression as a place for brunch on locals and visitors.
