I had another great experience with Dr. G today. This time, he went above and beyond. I accidentally left my night guard in his office. I realized it after hours. I left a message at his office, and within 5 mins, Dr. G called me and in another 2 mins, he was literally at my front door with my clean night guard. I have been going to Dr. Grinsfelder since I can remember. I am now 23, and if I may say so myself, I have very clean, happy teeth. Not only are they very professional here, and obviously have years of experience, but they will also put you at ease during your visit. Growing up, I never understood any of the jokes about dreading visits to the dentist, because I never had a bad experience here. And, finally, they are so friendly and helpful. I called today just to ask Dr. Grinsfelder's opinion on manual vs. electric toothbrushes, and not only did he discuss that with me for several minutes, but he also remembered what I had been up to the last time I came in for a visit and asked about me and how I'd been doing. Dr Grinsfelder is the best dentist in Dallas! I've been his patient since 2003. He always provides wonderful, compassionate care. But sadly, he sold the practice to Apex Dental Partners. They have hired a clinic manager who is rude and has created a toxic, hostile environment. She has fired both of the wonderful dental hygienists. One of those hygienists had been there 19 years. The clinic manager has also threatened to charge me a $50 fee for cancelling an appointment due to an emergency situation at work. She also is very disrespectful to employees. I will never return. What a sad ending to a fabulous practice that provided great care to patients for more than 4 decades. I've discussed this with leadership at Apex Dental Partners. They don't care about patients or employees!!! read more

I have not had a dentist like this in my life. Ever since I was in braces over 25 years ago, I have struggled to keep my teeth "dentist clean". At one point several years ago I had "deep pockets" in my gums that required an in-depth, painful and expensive form of cleaning. That was a wake up call, so I really upped my daily routine. 4 months later I felt like I had a "dentist clean" mouth every day, went back to the same dentist and he wanted to do another expensive deep clean. That was the end of him and my dental appointments for about 5 years. Then I came to my senses and sought out a new dentist, Dr. Grinsfelder. This office doesn't rely on lots of technology they can charge you extra for. You see, teeth haven't changed much in the last 25+ years so the technology doesn't have to either. What is great about the staff is that they have classic values too. They are all very friendly and honest. Dr.Raad is the younger dentist and she is great. Dr. Grinsfelder is obviously a very caring leader, I've seen him bring his staff little gifts coming back from a vacation. Both of them have a great bedside manner, very knowledgable and only advise necessary treatment. I started going to them, then my wife, now my 5 year old daughter. The staff, from top to bottom, is great at taking care of all of us. You won't find many dentists offices like this one. I highly recommend them. read more

Doctor Grinsfelder and his staff are the greatest people in the world. I couldn't afford the dentist as a child, and so I had very little stuff done, and plenty to do. I went to a Dentistry chain in 2007 to get my lower wisdom teeth removed and a cavity filled (first time I had been since a child) and was basically chastised and apathetically yet painfully prodded by the staff, and had basically developed an intense phobia afterwards, but when I came here, everyone was incredibly gentle and caring, which is exactly what I think everyone should be looking for in a dentist. I couldn't recommend these guys enough if you are looking for the best possible experience. read more

I have searched the Dallas area for someone like Dr. Grinsfelder. If you are looking for HDTVs in the reception room and free Starbucks coffee then you do not need to come here. If you are looking for a DENTIST and a good one to boot, then look no further. Wonderful staff, wonderful facilities, and hassle-free. Linda was so nice (she cleaned my teeth) and even though I was nervous (I get nervous when it comes to my teeth) she was very patient with me. Dr. Grinsfelder is such a delight! I have searched high and low for a good dentist since moving to Dallas 8 years ago. I have been told my whole life I don't need braces but these big city dentists seem to think otherwise because they want the money. No one was genuine... no one. At 6:30 AM this morning I fell and broke a tooth & I was in the office by 10 o'clock; I am a new patient and met Dr. Raad for the first time. She has incredible talent and is very kind to her patients. She took the time to explain the procedure I would need and her work is incredible. Our son broke a tooth. After reading the reviews we made an appointment. Wow was that one of the smarter ideas we've had. Our son was examined by Dr. Raad who is in partnership with Dr. Grinsfelder. Dr. Raad showed great professional skill, kindness and above all it was clear that above all she had the best interests in her heart for our son. I first found Dr. Grinsfelder's office through Yelp 2 years ago and started going because of the amazing reviews! I can tell you after 2 years of being an established patient now, all of the reviews hold up to their standard - and more! I am no stranger to the dentist chair and have seen MANY dentists in my lifetime. I have had several root canals, countless fillings, several crowns and a bridge (just all around bad teeth). This dentist and his staff are BY FAR the best I have ever encountered! They are professional, courteous, knowledgeable and above all FRIENDLY! I cannot rave enough about Dr. Grinsfelder and his staff, and for being a veteran dental patient I feel I'm "qualified" to offer such a remarkable review. Let's just say I wouldn't give this kind of review to any other dentist I have seen in my lifetime. I also have to give a quick shout out to Judy, one of their dental hygienists. I had a great experience with Dr. Grinsfelder and his fabulous staff. My wife and I had a travel planned and we wanted to get work done on our teeth before leaving for the trip. Dr. Grinsfelder was accomodating, very professional and gave us very good advice on what we need to do short-term and long-term. I, personally, had an emergency (a severe tooth ache). He diagnosed the root-cause accurately, referred me to a good endodontist for a root canal treatment, provided me after-care and then his office took care of my teeth cleaning - all within 3 days. We have high regard for Dr. Grinsfelder, his dental hygienists, dental assistants and his administrative staff. His dentist office is one of those places where you feel at home. Sooo, as a member of Metlife that has General-Family Dentistry David Grinsfelder, D.D.S. in their PPO, I called in this morning to schedule an appointment for consultation. The secretary/receptionist asked me what I wanted. I said I needed to schedule an appointment. Her question was: appointment for what? I responded: I don't know, I think I need cleaning, consultation or whatever you may call it, I do not have the technical term for it. She then, to my utter shock and surprise, said: wait, I will transfer you to a Spanish speaker. By the time I realized what this whole spectacle meant, I was already connected to a lady who offered to help me in Spanish. I thanked this lady and requested to go back to the receptionist to ask her why she assumed I was Hispanic or Spanish-speaker. She justified her profiling me by saying that she wanted to help me. First, I am no Hispanic. I am an adjunct professor at a University teaching Public Speaking -in English- and a customer service specialist for a major Technology agency. I pride myself in speaking 5 languages such as English, French and Spanish but this lady's attitude and condescending tone on the phone of a dentistry office I only was trying to go to for a fully paid service was remarkable. It certainly spoke to either the culture prevailing in Dr. Grinsfelder's office or her deep-seated bias and stereotypical work-ethics against anyone speaking a different accent of the English language than hers. Most amazing, when I asked for her name, she said it did not matter. This is my experience with General-Family Dentistry, David Grinsfelder, D.D.S.
