Ask to take a shower and was told they don't provide soap! Nothing! Someone has to bring supplies to you. I came from 3 weeks in intensive care and sent here for rehab. Asked for something to eat, no food after 6 pm! Was given a cup of water at 6:30 p.m. and told to wait until breakfast. Had to borrow roomates wheelchair to use the restroom as none provided by facility. They are rude, evasive and unhospitable. I thought I was in a nightmare and called a friend to rescuse the very next morning. If you love someone, do NOT send them here.

During COVID-19 he tested negative despite some staff and residents testing positive - this tells me they contained the spread. They were good about giving us updates as well. When we visited (before the pandemic) they helped us get him ready to go out to eat and regularly took him to his appointments on their bus.

The building was clean and the hallways were clear and not cluttered. I noticed some of the residents were playing cards in the rec area while others were outside enjoying the weather. After meeting with Heather, and seeing the building, I was very impressed and I am definitely going to bring my aunt to Aviata for her rehab. I reminded the nurse Josie on my way out, my grandmother was to put absolutely no weight on her leg for 3 months, she then laughed and told me she received a fax saying she can do 50/50. I then explained that I was at the hospital with her the past 2 days and her ortho surgeon, doc and nurses all drilled in her head NO WEIGHT ON THAT LEG!!! Josie said she is just going by what the fax said..I didn't want to start a issue on my grandmothers first night so I left, but on my car ride home I thought about it, there was no way I can let them have her put half weight as she just had surgery 2 days prior. I then called the hospital she was at and got her nurses station, I filled them in and and they said ONCE AGAIN ...NO WEIGHT!! The nurses station told me to call the rehab center and have them call the ortho surgeon in the morning before they move her for anything..so I did..called and asked to speak with Josie.. Told her what the hospital just told me. She laughed again and said ok & hung up on me!! Ok so now I'm just scared for my grandmother, myself and another family member called around 7am to speak with another nurse at shift change and informed her, she then said she would def call to clarify with the ortho surgeon!! A few days later I happen to see Josie again and I ask to see this fax she was talking about and once again she laughed in my face and said she had no idea what I was talking about!!??! She told me "how would the hospital know our fax #?" Is that a serious question!!!! She then told me i must have talked to someone else it wasn't her and she never said there was a fax!!! Ok how did I know your name was Josie and why did your assistant remember I talked to you about it? Why is it your co workers say you are just a mean lady and make up your own rules!!! NOWW ..2 days later my grandmother is stuck wearing a diaper because she is unable to get out of bed, she soiled and needed it changed!!... Well a nurse takes her diaper off and shoves it in my grandmothers face and yells "look what you did!!" Ok so now you just took my grandmothers dignity and she was so embarrassed!! It is a good thing my grandmother is able to tell us family members about this incident, but who knows who else they treat like this, that doesn't have family to tell or is unable to realize what is going on!!! You see these things in the news all the time & if I can save a family from going thru what we did

We got no estimate and even after calling them after two weeks they still never gave us an estimate nor a call back. How they stay in business by treating potential customers this way is beyond me.

The only thing she could afford at other places was a shared room that was tiny. The social worker we had knew the folks at Heron House. They worked with us to get Mom a private room at a price we could afford. Sherry, Marybeth and Courtney have all been really great to me and my Mom. The staff is consistent without a lot of turnover. Mom has her favorite nurse-Tequila who really makes her laugh and her favorite tech-Brittany who is very sweet. The all day dining room is a huge plus as the residents don't feel they have to hurry or they'll miss a meal. The homemade soups are amazing by the way. Heron House may not be the newest facility but the care they give their residents is genuine. I have found them to be responsive, caring and kind.
