If I could put negative I would. Bought a raptor in August 2024. Since then we have had to put in a new transmission, shocks, struts(all the way around)sway bar, u joins, transfer case(wrong one was on there), rack and pinion, tie rods, front drive shaft, back drive shaft and new defrost motor and flaps. The transmission/drive shaft went out In November of 2024. Don lied to me and when I called him he said "I got a guy". The heck with doing any type of business with them unless you want an addition 20k I repairs on top of what you paid for the vehicle. -10 stars for me!!! read more

DO NOT PURCHASE from this dealership. They sell vehicles without repairing issues that their mechanic would know are there upon inspection. They sold my son a truck that had an engine oil leak (rear main seal). Conveniently they had the truck parked on the grass.... We noticed the leak as soon as we got home and contacted them. We also took the vehicle to a auto repair shop and the repair is $2500 and they were not willing to cover the repair. read more

I keep seeing this dealer pop up all over Facebook and just wanted to share my experience to hopefully help someone out. Short and sweet, I would avoid this place...Pay premium prices for trucks that are going to need thousands of dollars of work. I bought a truck from them a few months ago and right off the bat I saw issues with it on the lot. Bad pitman arm which is a huge safety concern (side note, I asked to see the safety inspection sheet for my truck and was told they don't have documentation of it...but they do inspections), lower ball joints shot, upper control arms and ball joints shot, lower rad hose coolant leak (couldn't even bother to top off the coolant in the surge tank before they sold it), blown out front shocks, oil pan gasket leak, and sold with a fuel filter maintenance light on. (They did give me the fuel filter to change myself), nail in the tire which they did end up paying to have repaired. Truck was also sold with a "LEVELING KIT"...truck does not have a leveling kit, they just have the torsion bars cranked to the moon to lift the front end of the truck, putting a lot of aggressive angles on the front end and damaging front end components. Now...knowing all of this, I still bought it because it was the EXACT truck I was looking for and was just planning on doing the repairs it needed. Salesman Jason was very kind and easy to work with. He helped us get financed and approved for a decent rate at a local bank. Moving on...bought the truck...less than 2 days later the pinion seal blows out and the truck is throwing diff fluid EVERYWHERE. My husband called the dealership and they were accommodating and said to bring it back and they would repair it free of charge considering I just bought it. So my husband drives the truck an hour and twenty minutes back to the dealership and they replace the seal. He brings it home and I inspected the repair after I came home from work...found that the drive line balancer was severely damaged from being removed and the seal was actually broken...so my husband calls back again. This is where things took a turn....Don the owner was very argumentative and rude over the phone. But they told us again to bring it back after I had taken it to a dealership for an estimate for repair. They didn't want to pay to have a dealership fix their mistake so I drove it and hour and twenty minutes back to the dealership AGAIN. When I got there I met with Don, who initially seemed nice. Then they asked me to come in the back after they got my truck up on the lift to discuss the issue with their mechanic. (Keep in mind that I am an ASE certified heavy duty diesel mechanic) so I have ground to stand on when it comes to knowing what I'm talking about. It ended up being and arguing match between Don and I who told me he "wasn't going to replace parts due to cosmetic damage".... I feel like anyone, even someone with no mechanical experience would have the common sense to understand why a damaged drive line balancer might be more than a cosmetic issue. Unless you like damage to your diff....I ended up calling the lead technician at the shop I work for to have him explain the issue since they were not willing to work with me. They still argued that there was no issue...Don then said I should take it to my shop and fix it...which I asked why he felt I should be responsible for fixing the damage they caused to my vehicle? I got tired and was just ready to take my truck and leave. Eventually they did end up working with me and replacing the balancer and the leaking pinion seal. I thanked him and the other manager for doing so and said I appreciated them helping. So I will say that was a positive...it's the fact that they weren't willing to fix their $400 mistake after I just bought a $37k truck from them that they damaged. In the end, I do love my truck. It is what I was looking for and what I needed. But I've put thousands of dollars into the front end repairs and fixing other issues it has had with emissions. In my opinion, you can find nice, lifted trucks at reliable dealership. I don't know about the cars and SUV's they sell. Maybe people have better experiences with that. But as far as diesels and bigger trucks I would look elsewhere. I personally would not purchase another truck from this place. read more

They wanted a no refund down payment to hold car, Okay ! But seems fishy, so tried to get car shipped but to expensive so my son said he would go get it. I owed them $345.00 for a door ding that they said they would fix, my son gets there and they want $445.00 so he pays them that amount. 100 loss anyway my son gets back with car and it's in rough & poor condition. No joke ! First) There's only 1 key no owners manual and no floor mats, Second) Tires are shot they are all weather cracked. Third ) Paint in rough condition and passenger headlight has yellow fade. Fourth) The hood and roof is full of HAIL DAMAGE You can't make this $hit up! So it's time to get car off trailer I back car off and all's I hear is Grinding noise car hardly stopped, oh geez brakes are shot! Yup! Update: Rear drum brakes down to metal also rear drum loose no bolt holding drum on. Had to take car down the highway to see if it would get up to speed, Yes it does along with a lot of howling noise and wobbly ride, bad shocks my guess ! along with not able to keep steering wheel straight. Heavy pulling to the right. Right now I am thinking I got taken for buying a car online and not driving down to Illinois to look at. Yes I get it it's used but only has 68,800 miles on it. It took Lake Street Motors until the beginning of January 2021 to payoff the loan on my trade-in vehicle. Meanwhile, they sold my trade-in vehicle over 2 weeks prior to even paying off the loan, and without having a clear title or having the title in hand for the new owner. ** And they still refuse to make right that fact that the salesman (Luis) offered me $4,000 for my trade-in but the Finance guy (Don Cooper) slyly put only $3,000 in the contract. 1st off they stink. They let me drive my truck home with a brake caliper stuck and exhaust completely off the turbo. They had to send a tow truck to my house and tow it back to their place. Had the truck for 7 days. They are full of broken promises. They promised me a second keyfob and because of the tow and brakes and installing an exhaust that I bought, they couldnt afford the keyfob. They also broke the center caps on the wheels and told me that they would order new ones and send them to my house. Well its been over a month where are they? It will cost me $240 for 4 wheel caps. 1 more thing... I had to replace 2 u joints in the rear driveshaft. Dont recommend this place. I'm going to post this everywhere. read more

This place has a reputation of ripping off any and everybody they cross paths with! They not only RIP OFF individual consumers, but Banks, The State of Illinois, the Feds, I can go on and on. They have such a stellar reputation, the neighborhood in Grayslake had petitioned the city to not allow them to get re-licensed or make them move out of town. They have used NUMEROUS business names in order to reopen their doors. I'm aware of 3 or 4 in the last few years. Fast Lane, Auto villa Grayslake, Lake Street Motors etc. The two main characters are Jim Gosnell and Donnie "Lumpy" Cooper. They are both dishonest "unscrupulous ripoffs!" They just can't seem to make an honest living like everyone else does! They are well known to be unethical con artists. I say this due to having been foolish enough to get burned on a couple of pieces of JUNK I bought from them. I knew a couple of the salesman who were decent guys and chose to throw some business their way not having any clue what their business practices were like. As it turns out the employees had no idea. In speaking with the Illinois Attorney General, the Feds and the States Attorney, they requested copies of some documents to review and had shared some information regarding Gosnell's past and present dealings they had. I'm not at liberty to discuss any specifics of the conversations we had. A well known class action attorney I've known for years wanted to be present. At the beginning of this review I mention a Bank. It's the same bank I had discussed in great detail the figures in the contracts didn't add up. They along with another governing agency described in great detail what was done. Coincidentally a few nights later EVERY vehicle on the lot was repossessed. Apparently they didn't want to pay the bank either. I guess they didn't rip off enough people or illegal money to pay for the rusty junk on the lot. You might notice KBB and Auto Trader say the majority of the high mileage LEMONS are overpriced compared to industry retail values. In advertising they mention they offer "a shuttle service," that's another joke and one of their SCAMS. They don't have any vehicles with enough gas or employees to do such a thing. A good example of their junk, check out the mileage. They have one scam after another. You may call in to look at a vehicle they say is available, and they tell you it was sold before you get there. In order to make the deal worth their time, "Donnie" pushes real hard to sell you an "extended warranty" for an additional two to three thousand dollar's more and isn't worth the paper it's written on. They just don't honor them and can't. Ask them to show you the garage. It's a storage shed loaded with suit cases and NO mechanics or tools. The only tools you will find is Lumpy or Gosnell. Cooper is the "yes man" and Gosnell is the supposed owner who hides up in his mirrored tower. He doesn't like dealing with customers, he let's his "yes man" handle that end of their scams. Cooper got his education when he went down to Western Ave for a while "Kiddie Land" got put out of business again. I would suggest to not even get tempted to stop in, there are too many honest dealers out there you can trust. read more

In March I bought a 2010 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. There were a few issues I wanted fixed and they did that. 1 day after I bought it the engine light came on and Don C. the manager said no problem they would fix it. Well I took the truck back 4 times and they couldn't fix the problem. Each time I drove an hour there and an hour home and sat there for 3-4 hours each time and ignored (he told me it would be about an hour). The 3rd time I dropped the truck off on a Thursday evening and picked it up on a Saturday waited 2 hours. After the 4th time I didn't even get 2 miles away and the light came back on and called and talked to Don again I had just sat there 4 hours for them to repair the truck. Frustrated I took the truck to a repair shop spent $300 and finally had it fixed. I called Don C. and he told me to drop off the repair bill and he would "try" to get me some money because he already put too much in it. This was an issue that came up 1 day after I purchased the truck. Its now been 3 weeks and I have called 3 times and left messages for him to call me and settle the matter needless to say I still haven't received a call back. Terrible customer service. I have never been treated so poorly by a business before. They were great when I was buying the truck but after it was like I was nothing but a big problem and just wanted me to go away. It was a very horrible experience and I hope they do not treat another customer like they did me. It really made me regret going there and buying this vehicle. read more

So updated to this situation, had a key fob ordered within a day of picking my truck up. Now it's coming up on a week without a working key fob. Credit was hit twice after purchasing the vehicle due to "Trying to get a better rate" so still have no idea what's going on with that. Also, I need to wait for the bank to pay them to get a remote start installed because they took mine out due to "electrical issues". This is how a veteran is treated by these people. Go anywhere else! Buyers beware... My husband and I purchased a truck there back in March. The night we drove it off the lot we noticed the back up sensors and camera didn't work. We were told we had a 3 month warranty and they would fully repair or replace these items. We called endlessly and was told every time they would call us back. We stopped in and watched them right our name, truck and what we needed on the big board in the main office area and still never got a resolution. I have never dealt with dealers more unprofessional and straight up scammers. No call backs, constant dodging of calls and visits with no solutions offered. They don't stand behind their vehicles. After taking the truck to a few shops it was found that they actually spray painted over some rust which was the cause of the sensors no longer working. It's an expensive repair, thousands of dollars so I am sure that's why they avoided us. All buyers beware!!!! Update in reply to Jim- seems like a great excuse to "forget". We made it hard to forget when we called nearly once a week for over three months and stopped in multiple times and watched workers write our name and info on the white board. And great service as you have still not offered to repair. Hopefully you at least learn from your mistakes as we still have a truck that needs a back up camera that is $1000+ and 4 back up sensors that are nearly $200 each. We drove a truck off the lot that day with it needing over $1200 in repairs. With what we spent on it, this was a scam! read more

He told me the truck will be ready on Monday because it is "in the shop" then told me when I showed up that he lied to me and that a customer was using it. I drove an hour and 15 mins out to the dealership because I was told I can be finance for a truck for roughly around 450 a month I show up and I'm being shown payments of 790 a month. I had an exact idea of what I wanted from researching the website the night before, but it was spectacular to get that honest input. I was a college graduate looking for a reliable car since I have to drive four hours between my hometown and college. Keep in mind, this was my first time buying a car on my own, and I wanted to make sure I got not only the right car, great value, and service. Jim took the extra time to make sure I was getting the best rate. Also, Carlos made sure the car was ready to go by taking the extra time to detail and clean my car while I was working with Jim, and the wonderful staff at Auto Villa. I thought the prices were very reasonable, and the condition of the car was great! I did not need any maintenance for the car either. I ended up buying a 2011 Ford Fusion, and I absolutely love it! First off all they can NOT finance everyone. So they need to stop saying they can. I have a job and I make over 75 grand a year. I explained all the mishaps on my credit before I drove 65 miles, I didn't hide a thing. But I was told they could get it done, and after spending hours there, they couldn't. So my girlfriend purchased the car with my car as the down payment. They will ding your credit because they will call SEVERAL lenders to try to get you financed, I'm still getting rejections letters 5 weeks later. Every inquiry is a ding on your credit. Then after driving back up there and signing paperwork a few days later they called back and needed more paperwork signed. Wanted me to drive up there and I said no, so they drove here and came to my house (yes they found my house). Its AMAZING how many times they will call you when they want something. Because they wanted me to come back up and bring my trade in after closing hours, I cleaned out my car the best and as fast as I could, because it is a 65 mile trip, I accidentally left my IPOD in the car. I called the following Monday and asked them to look, they said they would look, and I called them back and they said it wasn't in the car. Two days later I got a text saying they did find it, and he didn't know how they missed it, it was out in the open. I asked them to mail it to me, they said no problem. 5 weeks later and still no IPOD. They sent it to half to the old address (street number) and half to my new address (city). But they sure found my house when they needed papers sign, and returned all my calls prior. I was told by Don Cooper the sales manager that the post office had returned it to them and now they can't find it.So now they won't return a call. So someone there has my IPOD I'm assuming if the post office did return it to them, and listening to the 1700 plus songs on there. I have several texts saying they had it, etc. So it won't be hard to recoup some of my loss in court. It will just be a pain in the butt. I need to file right away , because I'm not sure how long they will be in business. So I may just file against Don Cooper since he was the one that sent it to the wrong address and had possession of it last. At least that way I can have him garnished after I win a no brain er small claims case. So if you want to buy a car here, I'd be very careful. I would not buy another car here or send anyone I was fond of here. Once the car is sold, you won't get any help from them. So I can only imagine if you had a problem with car, what a nightmare that would be. There are too many GOOD car dealers out there to waste your time here. Funny thing is that I had post dated checks to them and could of stopped payment on them, but I didn't. I guess I'm a stand up guy, and maybe an idiot. They refused to take a non refundable down payment and all of my technical questions about the truck they had to hang up and call me back. They wanted me to pay the entire amount up front before even seeing the truck. Ended up not purchasing the truck and they called me back a week later trying to get me to buy something else. I recently purchased a Jeep Wrangler from this establishment. I worked with John (the salesman) and Donny (the finance guy) on the deal and was very impressed with how smooth the entire process was. I not only received a solid/fair value for my trade-in, I also requested to only have my credit ran through one lender so my credit would not get dinged for multiple hard inquiries. The entire process, including the nice test drive took approx 2 hours. Upon getting home, I realized I forgot my garage door opener in my trade in. I quickly called John and he mailed it experess right back to me since I was over a hour and a half away. I have nothing but positive things to say about this car dealership. This place has honest, hardworking people, who when dealing with them feels like you are are working with your nextdoor neighbor and not like you are getting haggled by a scummy salesman. The person I spoke to prior took my car to another car lot supposedly. I waited till he returned. A different salesperson said they sold It the day before. This establishment uses dishonest sales methods by misrepresenting the vehicles they are selling as being without faults. They delete diagnostic trouble codes stored in the vehicles computer in order to turn off the check engine light and in some cases this won't present itself until a certain set of parameters are reached. They will push you into getting a co signer the whole while saying they have no financial obligation, using terms like guarantor to confuse the less informed. Finally when you say you are finished and they have nothing you are interested in they will continue trying to get you to look at something all the way back to your car. Other locations will come get a vehicle you are filling out financing for and sell it out from underneath you and they will continue to advertise vehicles they no longer have in order to get customers to come to their lot. DO NOT GO HERE THEY WILL TRY TO ROB YOU BLIND AND SELL YOU GARBAGE. read more
