Gresham's Lake View Motel - Back porch facing the lake

We…read morewere looking for an inexpensive place to stay two nights while we all attended a family member's wedding. She let the four groups make separate room reservations but made sure we had adjacent rooms. The staff went above and beyond - calling me at 9PM before she closed the office to see if my older brother was checking in as he had said he would 2 weeks ago. He hadn't let her know of their change of plans and he wasn't coming that day, but the next when we were all arriving. The motel is dated and doesn't try to hide that. It's old-school, a blast from the past. It's no Marriott or Days Inn. But for the price it was fine. For example it did not have shampoo or conditioner in the bathroom. I remember when motels never had these. The beds were OK, nothing fantastic but nothing to complain about. Good TV and wifi. The view of the lake/reservoir from the room balcony was great. And we like that the balcony was continuous across all the rooms. We enjoyed group appetizers on the balcony . It was also awesome that there was a very good restaurant across the parking lot from the hotel. We were able to get on the waiting list for a table and they called us to let us know it was ready and we walked over! Overall Gresham's was a good place to stay and a bargain.

First looks can be deceiving. This place looks ok from the outside from a distance, but that's…read morewhere the pleasantries end. The Gresham's Motel is extremely dated- looking at the history on their website, they haven't renovated since the 80s. The bathroom is ancient (and had a gaudy shower curtain that looked like it was recycled from a funeral dress), uncomfortable old mattresses, super thin pillows, old school tube television, no electronic locks on the doors, door numbers spray painted on, I could go on and on. No shampoo, conditioner, or lotion in the bathroom, make sure you bring your own. Biggest complaint was lack of power in the room. I could only fine one electrical outlet that wasn't in use, which was next to the door. Not very convenient in today's world of mobile devices that need charging. I ended up not being able to charge my phone while staying here. I realize not every hotel or motel out there can rival a Marriott, but it just seems like this place is screaming for a renovation. The $105 they charge per night seems a little excessive for the amenities offered. I would only be willing to stay here again after they renovate.

If I had to rate the vibes…read moreof this resort, I would say it was probably a great place to visit in the 80's or if you're retired and want to get away for a few days. This place could def use some upgrades. The restaurant food, underwhelming. Activities, meh. If you're looking for a fun getaway, this may not be the place. If you want to relax, I would recommend if you don't mind old school hotel style stay and amenities. I did appreciate the bowling alley:; however, the game room is something from the very early 90s. The most likable amenity was the in room pool and sauna. Also, if you like top shelf alcohol, this may not be the place for you.

We stayed in Room 734 from April 10-13 and paid over $1,000 for what was supposed to be a romantic getaway. Unfortunately, the condition of the room was extremely disappointing. The room was not clean or well maintained. There were stains on the ceiling, soot on the wall above the fireplace, and the door was in terrible condition, dirty on the inside and peeling on the outside. The TV in the bedroom even had a black line going through the picture. The biggest issues were with the pool and tub. The pool jets didn't work, and the ladder had a missing step, which made it difficult and honestly unsafe to get out of the pool. I personally struggled getting out because of this. The "champagne glass" tub also had a yellow stain where the water comes out, which raised serious concerns about cleanliness. We brought these issues to the front desk and were told there were no rooms available to switch to. We were also told a manager would call us to discuss compensation, but we never received a call back. For the amount of money we spent, this experience was unacceptable. I understand that things can go wrong, but the lack of maintenance, cleanliness, and especially customer service is what stood out the most. Very disappointing experience overall.

This place is HORRIBLE…read more Let me start by saying that I do not own a timeshare (scam of all scams) and I am staying here with someone who does, and I can't wait to leave in two days. When we walked in, this place was filthy. Dusty, spider webs, dirty carpet, the whole nine yards. The furnishings are old and outdated, and some don't even work properly. The absolute worst part is the bed. The sheets have multiple blood stains that whoever cleaned this place attempted to hide by turning the sheet over, except you can see right through the sheet. Same story with the blanket. The outside is also a dump and possible death trap/lawsuit in waiting. The deck is full of algae and moss, which makes it slippery. There is also an electrical box that a guest hit and moved exposing wires in a deep pit that hasn't been fixed. The owners of this dump need to sell it. Time to take ol' yeller behind the barn and shoot him...

The suites by the golf course area is a bit far from front desk maybe a 10 minute ride. The suite was nicely furnished upstairs and downstairs with a fireplace full kitchen and jacuzzi tub. It was very clean upon arrival and stocked with things to keep the place clean. We also had a private balcony and we were situated right across from the lake, beautiful views. The only reason why I gave the establishment for stars is because if you wanted to dine out your local Wendy's or McDonald's or Chinese restaurant is at least 30 minutes away. Also if you want to buy burning logs to put in the fireplace you can it's going to be a $15 charge at the front desk. Other than that it was a great experience on a whole. Very peaceful and relaxing quiet and Serene. I would definitely be visiting again.
