Just left here with my family. Possibly the worst service and food I've had in a long time. After waiting for about 10 mins, the waiter came to take our food order,Mind you that we didn't even have placed a drink order yet, the waiter didn't even realize that. We waited probably 25 mins for our food to come out, they were not even busy. When our Food came out everything was FREEZING! My fries were cold, biscuits and gravy was luke warm. Really surprised by the bad reviews here! We've been to the Lakeside Cafe maybe 25 times since they opened? Our only bad experience is when we ordered a soup they were out of and they brought us a substitute without asking. Other than that, decent food for a diner and great service. The staff has always been very friendly and the prices are good. Similar food to, say, Denny's, but without being as processed. We've tried several menu items and love the Island Burger, tostada salads, breakfast burritos, and chicken wraps. We've tried some of the specials and didn't have any complaints... Not fine dining, but good for what it is! Wish they'd bring back the cinnamon roll French toast! The kids like eating there and the one-egg kid breakfast is a ton of food for a steal. read more

Don't go to this place and expect great service because it is terrible. I have been to this place twice and it has not improved. The service was poor, the food was terrible. It took 15 minutes to get a couple of glasses of iced tea and 30 minutes to serve our sandwiches. It's pretty hard to screw up a turkey sandwich and a turkey wrap but they were successful at accomplishing it. We used to really like this place (when it was Lakeside Café). Shortly after it became Milla's Café with new owners, we still enjoyed their food for awhile. However, we've recently been very disappointed with the food. Especially the last two visits, we ordered the Chicken Parmigiana and Alfredo Pasta Chicken, both previous favorites. Recently, the chicken tasted bad, was tough and had a strange tasting breading. The cheese coated the chicken in a flat pancake-like shape and tasted strange and rubbery. The Chicken in the Alfredo dinner was similar and not even cut up, nor charbroiled, as it was previously. Alfredo sauce was drowned over the pasta and had a bad taste as well.The owner said they used a 'new breading' for the chicken, and they would return to the previous one. Service was pleasant. Been living in Lakeside for about 3 years now and this is the first time we've been in since it became Mila's Cafe. I must say I don't know why all the 1-3 star reviews. When I walked in I gave my name to the hostess and she informed me there was a 15 to 20 minute wait. 10 minutes later we had a table. Service was super friendly and efficient. Our server Angela was amazing, she was quick and made sure to check on every table of hers about every 5 minutes or so. They were super busy, and almost as soon as one table cleared out they got it cleaned up and turned around and were seating it again. When our food came out the portions were HUGE! The Steak was AMAZING! It was my hubby's but I stole a piece before her even got to. I had the chicken strips and they were pretty good. But next time I'm totally getting the steak! read more

Very dissatisfied. Two of us ordered chicken fried steak. Waitress brought out the plates with a small scoop of mashed potatoes, small bowl of vegetables and some meat. NO GRAVY. She said there is a small problem, well not really a problem. It's just that they have no more gravy for the meal. After asking if they have any other gravy, she brought us some beef gravy. We didn't send it back, we just wanted to eat and leave. When we only had a couple bites left, another waitress arrived with some country gravy. She said they made some more. Our waitress said she didn't know they made some more. Normally you would ask the customer if they still want their order since there is a small problem, or if they want to change their selection. Service a little below average, food expensive for a very plain cafe. There are much nicer, less expensive and efficiently run eateries in Lakeside. read more

This place is seriously the worst place I have eaten! The first time I ate here I had french toast which they tried to correct 3 times because it kept coming out with raw egg on it and it was apparently old and soggy. Then I go there tonight and my steak was old, chewy but somehow still rare. Like seriously when did you buy that meat! Is it even steak or did it come from your german shepard out back? So we let the server know and she comes back and says the OWNER says she can take off the steak but not the tiny salad and greens I had..I didnt have a problem paying, it's the fact that she didnt apologize or ask to correct it. So the owner comes out and says the same thing and that she would rather lose a customer then salvage a whole 9 dollar meal. Hmmm, sounds a little odd to me since I've worked in a restaurant for 3 years.. Not to mention the rats you can hear climbing around the inside of the walls beside you..now that's creepy and a real good way to ruin a conversation! Geez! I cant believe this place is even open. Came based on a recommendation that the Fish and Chips were amazing - and from what we could see being served to other tables it looked great, but sadly the service was so bad we never got to it. My soup and my wife's salad came, but no dressing on the salad. So my wife politely waited til the waitress finished taking the order at the table behind us to ask for dressing... our drinks came to the table after we. Had both finished the first course... and we waited... and waited... then the table behind us was served with their fish and chips! Yes! Horrible service & food was terrible. I ordered a chicken avocado Swiss wrap along with a small order of biscuits & gravy. Wife ordered a grilled ham & cheese sandwich. After a 35 minute turnaround from our order with a nearly empty restaurant 1 table of 2 already served.My chicken wrap which menu said was fresh chicken breast was obviously canned chicken, avocado was not ripe hard as a rock. The gravy was some disgusting concoction of I don't know what. Wife's grilled ham & cheese was soggy with pickle juice with a rotten pickle on the side.
