Ambience and environment alone is gonna get at least 4 stars. As others have said, be aware this is inside a business complex/conference center. So it's only open during business days/hours. I went on a Monday around 10:45a and had plenty of parking, lots of seating and quick service. I ordered the Banana Bread Latte, which was something I never had before. It was on their seasonal menu. A little heavy on the cinnamon, but honestly very good. Had real bits of banana in it too. I would definitely get it again, if available. My daughter got a berry matcha, also on the seasonal menu. She said it was fine, a little too light in color. Reminded her of the Starbucks berry matcha. I'm not a matcha guy, so I'm going off what she says. But she did enjoy it. The baristas were nice and they were very efficient. Only 2 on staff when we went, but it wasn't super busy at the time. Lots of indoor seating, high counter tables with power ports if you need to work. Plush chairs to work or relax in. But the real draw is outside. Once you look out the large windowed back wall, you see a lovely view of a lake. There are lots of chairs and tables, along with a dock with more chairs and tables. The views are great and it's crazy to think it's nestled inside a business park. There is a waiver to sign if you want to take the boat ride, there are also some rowboats out there. The ride last about 12min and was very pleasant and fun. My daughters enjoyed themselves and we just relaxed and took in the sights. If you want to sit out and relax, there is the dock with great seating. Also various spots around the lake have lounge chairs or other seating. There is a market with 3 different eateries inside. So you can grab a meal after having your coffee, boat ride and walking the grounds. read more

This coffee bar is located inside a corporate building /event center. It's kind of tough to find parking, but they do have a lot in front for visitors. I was immediately floored when I walked in. It is such a beautiful and modern space. You will see the coffee bar as soon as you walk in. I ordered an iced latte and croissant. Both good. The best part is the lake in the back. There's tons of walk trails, a volleyball court, and FREE boat ride which lasted 10-15 minutes. It was such a relaxing location - great for getting some work done or some steps in. Came here solely based on the hype from IG and the reviews on Yelp. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. First they were sold out of 2 of 4 of their specialty coffees. The girl said they ran out of coconut syrup so we were left with 2 choices. I chose the banana bread latte which reading the description I was a little worried it would be overly sweet. Turns out I was wrong. It wasn't sweet at all. No banana flavor. Hubby for the iced version and same, no real flavor. He had to go back and ask for more syrup. They also only had 2 choices for non pasty savory foods which were not appetizing. One was a tuna salmon fluff pastry and the other was a spinach one. The lake aspect is nice. There are kids fishing and seem to be enjoying themselves. overall there are better places for coffee in the area. read more

They offer great coffee specials (espresso martinis, lattes, etc) breakfast items, and pastries that will sell out if you're not quick enough! Would you like to drink caffeinated beverages while looking at a serene man-made lake, sitting inside a LEED certified office building? Well I got the place for you! But seriously, though I think this building has a lot of conferences in addition to having a bunch of offices. It's a beautifully built building. This coffee space is located right by the lobby entrance so it kinda does share that vibe of being in an office lobby as well as being in a coffee shop. The space - at least the time I went - it's pretty quiet and peaceful so I was able to who post up for a bit to get some work done here. So just to emphasize: if you're looking for coffee and a place to do some work or write or read etc. this is a great place. The people here are friendly and efficient. It's not a huge menu, but they got some classics as well as a few specialty drinks. I got the sea salt black cherry mocha. I thought it was tasty. Parking was pretty easy to find, but I parked a bit far because I just wanted to make sure I was in an area where I wouldn't get ticketed or towed. But I really am not too familiar with the parking arrangements for the guest in this area. Truly flabber-de-gasted when I visited Lakeside Coffee for the first time. What is this beautiful place?? What secret garden have I stumbled upon?? My friend once mentioned she went on a date at the lake next to City Center, and I was like where does a lake fit in that area and how come I've never seen it?? Behold. Lakeside Coffee is...lakeside! I watched a paddle boat paddle off in the distance and it was the most scenic thing I've seen in San Ramon lol. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating that makes for a nice spot to do some work and have your daily dose of caffeine. The outdoor space is the winner with the lake views and plenty of seating. There's also A BOAT that's free in case you want to take a break from the keyboard grind. Back to the coffee though. They have pretty good espresso and can make all the different espresso based drinks. I had a delicious cortado that was a very fair price. It came with some latte art and I think that the espresso based drinks are the strong point of Lakeside. I also tried the raspberry matcha latte but it was not as good as the cortado. A little bit milky and the matcha raspberry combo was not my favorite. The service was friendly and quick. Overall a nice coffee shop that I wish I had in my work office. As I was sitting here sipping my cold brew by the lake, all I could think about was that one Saved by the Bell episode when Zack Morris sings the song, "Bayside is the school that's cool!" The only difference is that I changed the lyrics to "Lakeside is the coffee shop that bops!" Wow, what a cute little hidden spot! Until recently, I had no idea this place even existed, even though I am at the Lot next door on an almost weekly basis. Adjacent to a manmade lake inside the Roundhouse office/conference complex, Lakeside Coffee is not exactly in the easiest to find from the street, as it is in the lobby of the building, with nary any visible signage. Parking is also a little tricky, as you have to battle with office workers and conference attendees, so it might require a bit of a hike to get to the actual café. I have a feeling that Lakeside was never intended to be anything more than just an office coffee stand to provide nourishment for the employees, and not meant as a destination for outsiders. However, as usual, we have social media to thank for their recent popularity, for better or worse. Even with this new influx of visitors (yours truly included), the clientele is still mostly buttoned up corporate movers and shakers, as opposed to the bohemian, artsy vibe at most other coffee shops. If you want to feel productive, and surround yourself with successful, hard working individuals, this is the place to be! Just don't expect any abstract art for sale on the walls, poetry slams or local garage bands to be performing. With a wide open feeling inside of center lobby, there is a variety of seating to suit your fancy. There are standing desks, which are my personal favorite, regular tables and chairs, couches, and even outdoor seating on a dock right alongside the lake for the warmer days. There is also no need to worry about talking too loud, since it's not meant to be one of those quiet time cafés. As for the coffee itself, I must say it's pretty darn good! I usually order cold brew, and the version here is some of the strongest I have ever had. It certainly keeps me awake long enough to get my tasks done! The staff is also extremely friendly and efficient. Since I frequent the San Ramon area often, I will definitely have to add Lakeside to my future itineraries as a pitstop for an hour or two. While I certainly do not miss working in corporate America one bit, it's fun to revisit the atmosphere once in a while to get those productive juices flowing. read more

Lakeside can be a bit hard to find at first, but just keep going through the front sliding doors and you'll see it directly across the way. Bathrooms can be hard to find, and it is an active office/conference space throughout the week, so exploring can lead to awkward encounters haha. There's a good sized food court and library, but the standout for me is the walking path that wraps around the man-made pond out back. It's tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the general public, but if you're not working in the building you could feel a bit of impostor syndrome. The barista was super nice and made me a less sweet version without any hassle. This place has one of the best views for a coffee shop. There's some seating inside, but if it's a nice day, I recommend sitting out by the lake. They've got seating right outside of the lobby on the patio or you can even go on the dock. I've never seen it too busy here but do expect to see folks walking around during lunch time. They've got strong, solid WiFi for working (though if you're doing a lot of video calls, it might cut out once or twice). Outside is quiet enough to take your calls, but full of enough people passing by talking to not feel bad about talking on your calls. And of course, you can't beat these views. Who knew San Ramon would have such a nice lake to enjoy? One day, I'll make my way to walk around the lake. Until then, I'll just keep taking my San Ramon meetings and work days from the dock. read more

My drink was ready a minute after ordering! It was a good latte but I wish it was a little less milkier. First off, the ambiance and view of the water is so worth it for this spot. There were a lot of people talking walks around the lake and it's a gorgeous view. The coffee shop is tucked away in a business building, it isn't too hard to find. We parked in the guest parking area, it was very full when we stopped by but we managed to get one of the last spots. They do run out of certain items, we ended up switching our orders a bit based on availability. I ended up with a pistachio latte and a sausage breakfast burrito. The coffee was fragrant, but not too sweet, which was great. The breakfast burrito was ok, I ended up using a good bit of hot sauce on it, but I'm glad it was an option. My friend ordered a honey latte and got a fruit cup and chia seed cup. The coffees were tasty and the view was the highlight. We ended up sitting and talking for a while before heading out. Lakeside Coffee Bar is located inside an office building just in case you're unfamiliar with the area. FYI: You don't have to be an employee to enter the building. I got one of their pistachio lattes which is a summer special. The drink tasted great, but the main star of the show is definitely the view and location. You can enjoy your drinks outside which has a man-made lake. There's ample seating and tables and it's very peaceful. Since it's accessible to the public, you will find people walking their dogs or just going out for their daily stroll. San Ramon is my hometown, and I definitely wish Lakeside existed back when I was still a student. This is the perfect place to study/work or get some fresh air! It was a mission to find this place. First we parked where it said it would be on Google maps. Then we went into the building and asked where it was and the lady said we had to walk all the way to the end by a set of stairs. Once we reached the stairs, it was another 3-5 minute walk to get to the Cafe. The walk is really pretty though so it wasn't too bad. However, I do like this cafe to get work done because there is a lot of seating if you walk around inside the building. It's not packed and there is good wifi. So I will be coming back to get work done. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a place to study or get work done. The coffee itself was good and decently priced.
