Iced Americano and Pumpkin Chai Spice
    Cynthia P.

We decided to go to Rooted Coffee to get some work done and try out their drinks! It is located across a parking garage (1st hour free, 1.25 for each hour after). There is also street parking! We arrived around 2 and luckily got a table as soon as we got there. The WiFi is located near the register. WiFi worked well for us today! As for the drinks, we ordered an iced Americano and a pumpkin spice chai latte with almond milk. The coffee wasn't as strong as we'd hope for, but it was decent! The pumpkin spice chai latte was super heavy on the cinnamon or nutmeg. A bit too much spice. It tasted spicy. Overall, the vibes were great! It was a great atmosphere to get stuff done. I would come back to try other drinks and their food. I like how this is a plant based cafe as I am not a dairy girl! 10/10 experience, 7/10 drinks!

Finally made it to this place on this beautiful warm day to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine and try their food here. It's a cute place, plenty of seating inside, cozy industrial modern vibe - they also sell their shirts. I got the sunshine wrap which was huge, two people can share it and I thought it was average tasting. It came with balsamic on the side that was tasty; I added sriracha and that gave it a nice kick and a fresh lemonade which I also thought was average, and my daughter had the avocado toast. We sat outside in their cute street patio that had plenty of seating which was great. I should mention that after we got in line, the line got longer and was still that way even after we got our food but with people in line, I had to kind of weave through people to go in and out to grab our drinks and get napkins and go back for more sriracha and weave myself back through the line to get back out to the patio. I can tell customers in line were annoyed because of people weaving through them so may be a good idea to have a definite 'line only' to make it easier for people to get in and out of the place and those in line to be just in line without people cutting them every second.

Iced Matcha Latte with Ube Cold Foam

Was looking for a nice place to work with good drinks and came across this place. The staff is friendly and there is a decent amount of space to work (just a lack of outlets). I got the iced matcha ube latte and was impressed with the sweetness level and quality of the drink. I'd come back.

    Oat milk macchiato and espresso
    Felix W.

I got an espresso and an oat milk macchiato. The espresso had a nice layer of crema but was burnt and lacked body. Could've been the late hour (came in around 3:40 PM and they close at 4) but still, not what I was hoping for. 2/5 The macchiato was decently well executed. The oat milk masked the burnt edge a bit, but overall nothing stood out. 3/5. Based on the reviews I was a little disappointed, I might give it another try if I'm in the area well before closing time.

After an amazing Brazilian steakhouse lunch in Walnut Creek, we decided to stroll through downtown and find a good coffee spot--and wow, did we luck out with this place. We're big coffee lovers, so we always keep an eye out for unique local cafés, and this one immediately stood out. From the moment we walked in, the ambience was warm and inviting. You could feel the thought and personality behind every detail--from the merchandise and posters to the design--like everything had "roots," grounded and intentional. It created a really special, authentic vibe. The service was awesome. We weren't sure what to order, so we asked the cashier for a recommendation. I said I was leaning more toward a strong coffee flavor, and he recommended their cold brew with strawberry vanilla cold foam--and let me tell you, it was perfect. Refreshing, balanced, and exactly what I didn't know I needed. It's always great finding new coffee spots, but this one might just become a regular stop. If you love coffee and good vibes, this place is a must.

As always rooted never disappoint me, the friendliness, the customer service, the ambience, the food and the drinks worth the walk, worth the drive, worth the long lines too. I picked up couple items well three of them!! Cortado with almond milk just because, couple freshly bake goods, you cannot go wrong with them because their bake goods are freshly made "reason why I love Rooted" that is my way to go if I am drinking an americano or in this case a cortado, it is a huge plus for me and also because it is vegan and gluten free. The chocolate chip melts in your mouth on the first bite you can feel the chocolate chip melted and how easily breaks with the first bite The poopie seeds lemon muffin, chewy, soft, you can taste the lemon flavor in the muffin not overpowering in sugars or flavors it is just right! My parents and I love their bake good so does the drinks

The best coffee shop in Walnut Creek! The people who work at Rooted are very sweet and professional. Great customer service !!! make you feel like you're at home. The coffee shop is a great atmosphere. It's cute inside. They even have great salads and food.

Maybe I am bias but this place was just what I didn't know I needed to find. I recently became dairy free and having been a vegetarian for 18 years, I was jazzed to find this vegan haven. I have been to their cafe in PH but really enjoyed checking out their market items. They have a great selection of food, snacks galore, and beverages in addition to their cafe menu. I was also beyond excited to finally enjoy a DF PSL this season! Although I absolutely loved the maple matcha. I also grabbed some baked goods to share with the family- which were all tasty. Will for sure be returning! Also thank you to the friendly worker who was patiently taking my order :)

It was very busy here at 1pm on a Friday. Parking was an unpleasant experience as there's not much of it and quite a bit of traffic. This establishment lets in pet dogs which was not advertised clearly-- so unfortunately it's not really a safe spot for service dogs. It's also not so accessible. Most of their tables are bar height with tall stools. I ordered a matcha latte. The service was friendly. It took quite a while for the drink to be ready, though. Matcha latte tasted relatively good, not too savory nor too sweet.

Love supporting this local family business and their delicious drinks! A friend from the peninsula was visiting WC and we wanted coffee, so I took him here to try something unique to the area. We got the Hunny Lavender Matcha and the Orange Rosemary Matcha with oat milk, which had light matcha flavor with pleasant additional sweetness of the added flavors, and we loved them both instantly on the first sip. Service was friendly and helpful. There is seating inside and it's a nice space to hang out with a friend or relax or work solo.

So vibey The service is great. The girls working at the barista bar are so sweet the coffee taste great to me. I got a maple brown sugar latte with oat milk a little extra sweet. I can actually taste the flavor of the maple and the brown sugar. And it's creamy I like the oatmeal they use. I live in LA so I'm sad that I only get to come here when I visit Quick reviews just for you

To start, the employee working at the cash register was super friendly and gave great suggestions on drinks and food to order based on how sweet we like things or more coffee for we may want things to be. There isn't really any indoor seating space but they did build out into the parking lot with a few picnic tables and chairs for people to stay and eat their food. While we both really enjoyed the food - both of which were recommended by the employee - the coffee was not good at all. Pro: the avocado toast that we ordered had a curried chickpea salad on top and it had a delicious flavor. That was probably my favorite bite! We also shared half order of the blueberry waffle, and it had a type of granola on top that provided some really great textures. The food certainly impressed me. Con: Both of us felt like the coffee had none of the flavor that it was supposed to have (we both ordered the cardamom maple iced latte with macadamia nut milk) and instead, it just tasted like milk. It didn't even really have a coffee forward flavor. Since this is a coffee shop that was a pretty big disappointment. Overall, we enjoyed the food and service, but would skip the coffee.

We came in on a Sunday morning, and it was busy but the staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a light fluffy veggie omelet with roasted potatoes. A little hot sauce splash and a smidge of added salt made them even more tasty. The Chilaquiles were made with crispy corn tortilla chips layered with red chili sauce and sprinkled with cheddar, cheddar Jack and feta cheeses. This was topped off with two over-easy eggs. The fried chicken's batter was crispy and crunchy and the waffles held up nicely to a swirl of maple syrup. We enjoyed a latte which was excellent as well as a drip coffee that was made with some nicely roasted beans. My only warning is that the portions are plentiful! We opted to not sit outside, rather inside right by the exterior seating to still get the vibes but also some AC. I love places like Lafayette where all the businesses support each other and help each other grow. Their brews on tap are mostly all local, and we grabbed some Pilsners sourced from Lafayette's new brewery, Western Flyer. So fresh and crisp. Can't wait to also check that spot out. Food-wise, we came in mid-afternoon and grabbed a Kale Pancetta salad (they pre-split the salad for us on two plates which was so nice), and for the mains, we both grabbed the Tuna Melt with fries. The salad was delicious. I'm def a tuna melt girly, and I loved the addition of the ciabatta (?) as the bread option, so fresh as well. This tuna melt comes with grapes fyi, and a few other elements mixed in. I absolutely loved it, just sharing though as I know how some tuna stans like their tuna :) This spot is clean, spacious, and perfectly situated in walking distance downtown. Would love to come back for brunch with a group of friends, or even again during the upcoming Lafayette Art & Wine Fest. Food is good, service is quick and friendly, and vibes are right. I…read moreknow they have several locations throughout the Bay Area, but since we were in Lafayette, we figured we'd finally give this one a try. We arrived around 11:30 a.m on Monday. There was only one party ahead of us waiting to be seated, and it didn't even appear that they had been acknowledged. About two or three minutes later, a gentleman came over, asked how many were in their party, and seated them. We then waited another five minutes before the bartender finally looked over and asked, "Have you been helped?" We replied, "No." He asked how many were in our party, whether we preferred inside or outside seating, and then seated us inside. After sitting for about 10 minutes with no acknowledgment from the server, the bartender returned and took our order. I had two very simple modifications to my meal. I repeated them a couple of times just to make sure they were noted, as they were nothing complicated. I simply didn't want two ingredients that normally came as garnishes. The bartender read my order back, confirmed the modifications, and walked away. About 35 minutes later, our food finally arrived, but we still hadn't received our beverages. I politely asked another server, who had yet to acknowledge us once during our visit, if we could please get our cappuccino. He brought over a regular coffee instead. I politely explained that we had actually ordered a cappuccino. He seemed irritated but said, "Fine, I'll go get it for you." Unfortunately, my food wasn't prepared correctly despite the bartender repeating the order back to me. Even more disappointing, my entire meal was ice cold. The scramble was cold, the toast was cold, and honestly, nothing on the plate was warm. What made the experience even more frustrating was that there wasn't a single opportunity to mention any of this. The bartender never came back. The server never checked on us. Even the person who delivered our food never returned to ask how everything was. We were essentially forgotten after our meals were dropped off. I genuinely hate writing negative reviews because I work in customer service myself and understand firsthand how overwhelming the service industry can be. I completely understand getting busy. What I don't understand is completely ignoring your guests. Even when you're overwhelmed, acknowledging customers and checking in, even briefly, makes a huge difference. Looking back, I probably should have taken the condition of the restaurant as a warning sign. When we walked in, there were numerous tables inside that still had dirty plates, cups, and leftover food from previous guests. The outdoor patio looked the same. What surprised me most was that many of those same tables were still covered in dirty dishes when we left. I wasn't expecting perfection, but I was expecting much more than what we experienced. We spent over $50, received cold food, an incorrect order, waited an unusually long time for drinks, and never had a single opportunity to let anyone know because no one ever checked on us. It was honestly a very disappointing experience, especially after hearing such positive things about this restaurant.
