I have been bringing my kids here for many years and their checkups have always been fine. However, my daughter developed a cavity and I was told because she has a cavity and may develop more in the future, that they will need to "graduate" her early. As in, they would prefer not to see her. In all my years, I have never experienced this kind of shaming from a dentist or any other professional. If developing a cavity is an issue, why dentistry? We will "graduate" our family out of this business. Shameful in every way. read more

"You're a bully, bye bully." *phone hangs up I am still shaking as I compose this review. My 5 year old had a couple uncomfortable visits at the dentist. With that said, the Dr. was able to complete the work each time. I decided to take the route of general anesthesia; this course of treatment was initiated by me, not the Dr. We are now a couple weeks away from our big appt and I am realizing that I am not actually comfortable putting my child to sleep while the work is performed and wanted to give a normal office visit another shot. I called the office to share my thoughts and concerns and the response I received was shocking. I was met with attitude, told to get a second opinion because (after pulling up my child's file and reading the notes out loud to me- "yep, difficult, pulling at hands, mom had to hold hands) they would only see my child if he was under anesthesia. I was stunned, but told him I would be keeping the appointment while figuring out what my other options may be. After sitting there for a few minutes I became super upset about the way my child and I were treated, so I called back. I stated that I didn't appreciate how I was made to feel as a parent bringing her child in for a serious procedure and that I would be canceling not only that appt but any future appts and I would be finding our family a new dentist. The man denied making me feel that way, the conversation became heated and he loudly declared, "you're a bully, bye bully" and hung up. I am not even going to detail all the ways that I am not a bully but I will tell you that in no circumstance is it appropriate to call a worried mother a bully. Let me be clear, if the Dr. had gotten on the phone and explained that it was in their opinion that this was the best option for my child and all the reasons why, then I likely would have proceeded with the appt. Instead I was treated with disrespect and the perception was that my child was an inconvenience to their office and staff. Up until this point we found this establishment to be great. The staff, up until now, has been great. One bad seed spoiled the whole bunch for me and I definitely will be finding an office that exhibits more empathy towards parents and children. read more

This place is amazing! I brought my almost three year old in today and they were so patient and kind. Laughing and praising him. They have a play room while you're waiting, tv on the ceiling, character toothbrushes and a toy bin for a treat at the end. Most importantly they know how to talk to kids. First off, this place is like Las Vegas for kids. Toys + books in the waiting room, super comfy dentist chairs in back with TV screens running kid shows non-stop on the ceiling above each chair. Second, and as important, the hygienists and Dr. Stu (as they call him) are all super friendly and good with squirmy kids. They even got my kid, who is known to have ants-in-his-pants to sit still for bite-wing X-rays. Unfortunately, those X-rays told us our otherwise healthy 4 year old had 3 cavities (bad parents, call CPS). Dr. Stu was great about this too. He gave us a prescription for Valium (or maybe it was for the kid, hard to say) and when we came back in my kid survived his first filling like it was nothing - no screaming, no wiggling, no pain and most importantly - he left without any fear of the dentist. We're going back again this week to get the other 2 fillings but that pit of dread in my stomach is gone. Given that your kids are gonna have teeth and gums (one hopes) for the rest of their lives, and going to the dentist is something most people don't love, I think it's well worth making sure your kid has good dentist experiences when they're young. Otherwise they end up like my wife, who basically dreads the dentist like it was a root canal... oh wait. read more

Short summary - The team we've seen at this office has shown little patience or empathy towards my daughter who was nervous coming in. A big part of a pediatric office (imho) should be behavior management of a child patient, to make a child feel comfortable at the dentist, provide some warm-up time if necessary, and build healthy life-long habits when it comes to teeth health. My 5-year-old was told to come in, sit down and open her mouth. She was apprehensive coming in, and this sort of approach just led her to tears. I will not be bringing my daughter back. To provide more context - I took my 5-year-old daughter here after about 1.5 years from her previous visit (due to moving cities and the pandemic, the last time she was at the dentist, she was a little under 4). She's always been a bit apprehensive with the dentist, but her previous dentist (also a pediatric dentist) was patient, would take it very slowly before she would start the check-up, and so my daughter would end up having a positive experience and good teeth cleaning. We went to Lakeview, were brought in by an assistant, my daughter was told to sit down, the doctor came in, introduced herself and started the exam. They were told this was her first time after awhile at the dentist, however, they showed no attempt to understand how she's feeling. The doctor examined her, she started crying mid-way, I tried comforting, and the exam was finished successfully. The doctor summarized the finding to me (while I was comforting my crying daughter, so I missed most of it, and later asked the assistant to please repeat). Then the doctor was out, onto the next patient. This all lasted about 10 minutes. My daughter had cavities, so we had to do the x-ray. After the x-ray was taken, we were told that the doctor would like to discuss the results with us, but she is doing a filling with a crying patient, so we might have to wait for a long time. At this point my daughter is very anxious and begging to go home. We did not end up waiting, as I asked to discuss the results over the phone. The doctor followed up on the phone, and explained the results of the x-ray. I have no complaints about the diagnosis. However, due to the lack of empathy and patience during the exam with my daughter, I would not recommend this office for young apprehensive children. read more

We had a small dental emergency and Dr. Stuehling was able to get my son in the next morning before school. I called and left a message on Sunday hoping to get a call back Monday but Dr. Stuehling called me back immediately. I even sent him a photo via text so he could assess it. The team was kind, patient and efficient. I'm so thankful for this type of professionalism and would go nowhere else for kids dental care. read more

I have been taking my 2.5 year old daughter to Lakeview Kids Dentistry since her first appointment at age 1 and our experience has been fantastic. The office is in a boutique style building on 34th with plenty of nearby parking. The office is clean, warm, and has a small play area for kids to use prior to the appointment. In the front office, George and Ella are super organized and our appointments in and out of the office have been seamless. In the clinic, Dr. Stu, Dr. Su, and Mirabelle have been caring, gentle and professional. The staff's experience working with children every day in the dental setting shows the minute you walk into the clinic. If you have kids and need a dentist, this is the place to be. read more

Brought our daughter (14 months old) to her first dentist appointment here after doing some research online. We wanted to get her started early with establishing healthy habits (she is already resistant with brushing at home). We entered the office and checked in with the front desk. George was very courteous and showed me where the bathroom, changing table and play area was. Our daughter was not shy and helped herself to the toys right away. We got called in shortly after by Mirabel, the dental assistant. She was both friendly and professional. I hopped onto the dental chair with my daughter and Mirabel used a toy alligator to show us what she was going to do. She used the different brushes on my daughter's hand to show her what it would feel like before proceeding to her mouth. As expected, my daughter screamed and cried her head off when we got into her mouth but Mirabel was calm and patient with her. Mirabel noticed my daughter had something called a fernum which require a special brushing technique and taught me how to brush at home. Dr. Stu came in shortly after to do his exam. He was nice and answered all my questions/concerns. He was gentle with my daughter and gave her a small toy of her choice at the end of her appointment. I'm hoping I can master the techniques I was taught and will definitely be back in 6 months for her next appointment. read more

We love it here! Friendly and very helpful staff! Dr. Stu is awesome; very informative, kind, and has a patient and gentle bedside manner. George at the front desk is great also! He's so friendly! Awesome customer service especially coming from what we had experienced. Anyhow they have a great play area with blocks and trains to keep the little ones busy! Plus great books for the kiddos in the waiting area. Not to mention they have great goodie bags complete with a toothbrush, cool kid floss and a little toy you can choose and you can place it all the cute bag they give you to take home. My kids (4 and 2) love going to this dentist! We've been going there since it opened about two years ago with our older one. He actually sat still and let Maribel, the assistant clean his teeth and Dr. Stu do a full examination during his first visit! He also had no problem for his only cavity filling and walked out of there without any fears of the dentist. My younger daughter also had great experiences. All of the office staff are super friendly. Plus they're located in a great neighborhood and we live less than two blocks away. Too bad the toy story next door closed last summer. Other pluses: great toy nook, TV/movies on the ceiling, toy treats after the visit, and good focus on prevention and healthy dental habits. I highly recommend this place! read more

My daughter was 15 months old when she went for her first visit here. The office is located in a really cute neighborhood with lots of street parking (there's no private lot here) and a toy store next door (closed on Mondays). The waiting area consists of a nice open space for adults and a little room with toys for the kids. The dental assistant took us back and mainly talked to me about my daughter's dental hygiene since my daughter refused to let her look in her mouth or clean her teeth. Then, Dr. Stu came in...really nice guy and seems to like kids. He managed to get her to open her mouth (she cried the whole time) to get a look and even applied some fluoride. I'm curious to know what her next visit will be like. Oh, and they have cute little dentist furniture for the kiddos and give each kid a little toy on the way out along with a toothbrush/toothpaste. read more

Dr Stu was great with all 3 of my children. Receptionist and hygenists are friendly, professional. My kids barely noticed that someone was working on their teeth. Dr. Stu does a great job with prevention too. Office is beautiful with good magazines for parents and play area for kids. Plus last year Dr. Stu had Santa come on a Dec. Excellent kids' dentist! Once you get over the fact he looks like he's 12 you know he knows his stuff! Office is brand new with all the latest technology. Very friendly, works with all insurance types, private rooms for apprehensive kids, cool loot and even tv's on the ceiling! Makes me wish that he worked on adults too! Bonus is that it's located right next to an awesome toy store (they even give out discount coupons after the visit!) so if you need an extra bribe to get the kids in the door that works! read more

Dr. Stuehling is wonderful with my daughter who is two. She has been enough at ease to comply with all of Dr. Stuehling and his assistant's requests during each visit (full exam, cleaning, teeth counting etc). The office is beautiful and they have thought of everything needed to make a child's visit to the dentist a positive experience. The playroom adjacent to the waiting area is great, as is the ability to watch a video while in the dental chair (Dora for example). The staff members are sweet and professional. I have all my questions answered during the visit. I feel very confident in the care she receives here and would recommend Dr. Stuehling to other parents. read more

Great dentist, great office. My 2 and 4 year old's have been going here for their dental care for the last 2 years. My kids actually ask me when they can go back to the dentist. They have toys in the waiting room, Dora on the TV and prizes for afterwards, but I think the thing that truly makes them great is their ability to set kids at ease. My daughter was very nervous about x-rays and after a few tries with her getting more and more agitated Dr Stu simply said we didn't need to push it, which was very helpful. They seem to put the comfort of the child as the top priority even if it means some things don't get done every time. I really appreciate that they are respectful and kind to my children. We've been Dr. Stu's patients for 5.5 years (since my kids' first dental appointment) and we've had nothing but the best experience! The staff is amazing, from the front desk, the hygienists (especially Mirabel) to Dr. Stu! Everyone is very friendly and kind. Dr. Stu is great with kids, patient (even with the kids who won't open their mouth) and very gentle! The office itself is also great. They have a nice play area in the waiting room, the kids get to pick a movie to watch during the exam, and they get a toy at the end of it.
