I strongly recommend to avoid this property and read some other people's reviews( not written by the owner herself and her friends) - (Expedia, Google, Tripadvisor and booking.com). This property by no means should be listed and offer accommodations. It is a huge HEALTH HAZARD! Everything what could be broken - is broken. It is infested with cockroaches and bed bugs. Fridge was last cleaned decades ago - you cannot open it without suffocating. Toilet is not cleaned, nor even flushed! They do not change bedsheets. Bed sheets are dirty as somebody slept on them in dirty boots. Bed is full of somebodies hair. Windows are not closing, screens are all broken. Entrance door is so flimsy - it can be opened by light push. As this motel is in a remote area along the highway and there are no administration on site - it is simply not safe! Motel's policy is ridiculous: once you open the door (programmable lock) - it is considered you have checked-in, and there is no refund. But you can only see this despair condition after you enter the room, not before! Feels like a trap for unsuspecting tourists. It is a real damp! I could not force myself to stay there an extra minute, at 8PM I ended up in the middle of the country without place to sleep, and continue my trip overnight and drive 300 miles to Las Vegas in the middle of the night. P. S. Response to the owner's response: Should I say more? Owner's response and pictures I have attached speak for themselves better than any words! She is the same low class as her property. The only person who might find this property liveable is a convicts on parole. At least, they would be speaking with the owner the same language. We Stayed at Lakeview motel during a very trying time for the locals of lake Isabella. While wild fires threatened so many of their homes it was business as usual making visitors feel welcomed and cared for. The owner Of the motel was so hospitable and kind, taking the time to really make sure we had everything we needed for our stay even though her own home away from town was in jeopardy. We left early due to the Smokey conditions but are already planning to return for our next trip we take to the lake. Check out the bowling alley in town the food is amazing! read more

If you want to feel eerie and have a strange stay, this is the place for you. Even though I'm a rat and am used to such establishments, I wanted something nice to stay in for a change. Owners seem really nice and check-in was very easy / contact-free. The best part was the door code keypad which was the only thing from this era. However, it was less nice than the pictures I saw online. When we entered the place, all the windows were open but that didn't help the odor. The room def had a strange smell - the sheets smelled like marinaded sweat, a hint of cigarettes, there was previously used soap clinging onto the sink like a barnacle, and it was overall really rundown. The internet reminded of my old AOL days and when my show froze due to the low bandwidth, I was soothed by my neighbor's snoring which went right through the thin walls. During my sleep, I was caressed by the sounds of loud cars and motorcycles which only woke me up five times. It's not cheap for what it is but great material for your commentary podcast and I will fasho not be coming back. read more

The motel wasnt it seemed om the website. FALSE ADVERTISING!! what u see in pictures is not what u going to get! They advertised the pictures of the place that make it look so pretty and convincing at night, but really, during the day time, it's super ghetto! We stayed in room 8. The microwave is defective!!! We had to cook our ramen for 30 minutes to make it ready to eat! The beds got stains on the side. The picnic tables are not clean! No toilet papers but you have to request one even when they're closed after 10pm! I'm really disappointed. They only have 1 grilling fireplace which is already in use by others. The front desk girl was really dishonest. I asked if I can request a refund for one night we didn't stay in because we weren't really happy with our stay and the distance to the main sequoia national forest. She said most likely I would get a refund but the property manager messaged me that they refused to give me the refund back because it was my fault that I didn't listen to the front desk girl about the 90 minutes route but I never even brought up about my plan to the national forest. If you are trying to get to the main Sequoia National Forest, it's a 4 hours drive! What you see in pictures is not what u not gonna get! The bed sheets are very thin!!!!!!! I got these annoying bedbug bites! Not comfortable as well! If I'm not happy with this place, you won't either! Super ghetto! Don't waste your energy on this place! read more

If I could give it a minus 5 star I would, the pictures my friend saw that led us to rent here WAS nothing like what we got... there is a door in the kitchenette that unlocked.. the beds were filthy, had crumbs looked like they hadn't been changed..the carpet was stained and didn't appear to have been vacuumed, there were dead flies, moths under the windows and in the bathroom... the room looked like it was from one of the ID murder programs THANK GOD FOR DISINFECT SPRAY and WIPES...I saw other yelp reviews and thank goodness we didn't get bit by bedbugs... My family and I always stay here while visiting Lake Isabella. This place is very cozy and welcoming. I love the easy check in process along with the separation of the room, bathroom and eating area. The pricing is always affordable, and the management is very attentive. OK I would 1st like to say that coming to Lake Isabella is such a wonderful beautiful experience and if you're looking for strong Wi-Fi and super updated kitchens in a little tiny motel then this isn't the motel for you. We find this will tell to be wonderful and when you walk out the door and turn to your Left you see the Lake. This is a place where you go to get away from the hustle and bustle of life in its craziness. It is so relaxing. So if you're coming to relax enjoy the good food that isn't there a surround the communities then this is an awesome place to stay. I'm extremely particular where I stay at this place is going through a face lift right now and it is super clean. Yes it's older but it is so clean the bathroom as a nice size the kitchenette area is a very nice size with a microwave and a refrigerator. To be honest I don't know if the Room stove worked I was happy to go out and eat at the local areas and I'm very blessed to have a brother who lives here so I could go to his house. But like I said if you're looking for strong Wi-Fi it you're gonna complain about that and I want giant flat screens well you're gonna have to get an AIRBNB. AND you're gonna have to pay a lot of money big $$$ for it. This place is a good value. There are renovating it keeping its country style so be patient please. There are great seating areas outside to get up in the morning and have a nice cup of coffee and enjoy the Lake. The staff is super friendly & accommodating. While researching a place to stay for our hiking trip, we were looking for somewhere that was pet friendly, safe, clean and in a good location. Lakeview Motel provided what we needed and I would recommend it for anyone seeking the basics of a roadside motel: bed, shower, microwave oven, mini-fridge, free wi-fi and a flat screen TV with 30+ channels. In addition, they have 2 charcoal grills and a wood fire pit in the common area which we used both nights; there are only 10 rooms so sharing was no problem. Lakeview is in a very small town which has a gas station, mexican restaurant, dollar general store and a market with deli, pizza, wings and fresh produce so not having a kitchen is no big deal. I would give this motel a 4 star rating but the customer service was above average and our rooms were cleaned daily so they get a 5. Having said that, mind your expectations, this is not a Ritz Hotel resort. The motel overlooks the east side of the lake, but there is only one room with a window that faces the lake and this time of year there was no water in the lake so don't expect a room with a grand view. There is a trailer park on either side of the lot and the motel is right next to the highway so I wouldn't recommend this location if you are looking for a quiet get-away or are a light sleeper, but there is virtually no traffic overnight. The best compliment I can give any business is that we will be back, and we will. read more

Great little place !! Clean, quiet, and a good deal for the location. $84 (after tax) per night trumps the competition in the surrounding area. Wonderful owner, very friendly and accommodating. We stayed this past weekend and the Lakeview Motel was exactly what we needed: a clean, dry, safe, comfortable place to stay the night! The proprietess is a wonderful, hospitable woman who offered useful advice on where to eat, how long it would take to get to nearby locations, and the safety of local roads during the impending rain storm. She also went out of her way to fill my thermos with hot water early in the morning so we would be well prepared for the upcoming day outside in the cold. I really appreciated her extra effort! Also, in the morning she provides a table of hot coffee, water for tea or hot cocoa, and trail mix bars. This motel will be the first place I check should we find ourselves up this way again. read more

We stayed here for 3 nights and we would come back and stay again. It is an older motel and needs some updating but it was clean. We had room #1 and our window faced the lake. The view was fabulous. The owners of the hotel were so nice and friendly. They were very helpful in suggesting restaurants and things to do. And we loved their cat, who was the official greeter. I am sure we will visit the lake again and when we do, we will stay here again. read more

Motel was clean and acceptable. Don't expect new furniture. The bed was comfortable. I stayed in room 9. The wifi was not good at all. We tried the wifi close to room 1 and it was better. A "qualified" 4 stars Last night I spent the night at Lakeview Motel. I called the evening before and found out that they had a room with 2 full size beds available. The man I talked with was pleasant and informative. I was surprised that they did not have queen size beds- until I got there.. I did not make a reservation because I was not sure we would make it there the next day. As things turned out, we made it to the area and rode in around 4:30 in the afternoon. I asked if the room was still available and it was. 2 full size beds TV (no cable, but digital TV) AC, a small referig and microwave. a small sitting room adjoined. - $87.00+ for the night. A little on the pricy side for the accommodations age. The motel looks like it stepped out of the early 70's for the outside. It is dated and could use some tender love and care. (it looks like it is getting it, but it will take time and money to overcome the age.) The woman that came to the office was in the process of cleaning the rooms for the day.just finishing up I guess. She was very kind and fun. When we asked where is good to eat she had had a ready reply. "it's Wednesday, so you need to try this place down the road about 2 miles. It's a steakhouse. Or, if you want Mexican you got to try the place about 2 blocks down the street..." She was helpful. We walked to El Portal Mexican Grill and really enjoyed our dinner. (see my review of El Portal Mexican Grill). The room uses the old key on a keyring, reminiscent of days gone by. A picnic table in front of our room where people can smoke if they need to. It had an ashtray provided. The ashtray was cleaned. no smell or butts laying around. It also had a couple of plastic chairs there for us to use. The door to the room had a rough repair to it and a poor paint job, but it was sturdy and closed and locked well. Inside the room smelled clean. beds were made well and you could still smell the laundry soap oder from fresh laundry. both the comforters, which looked like an old style (print), and the sheets, pillow covers all smelled clean. The bed was nicely made. good tight corners, etc. Speaking of the beds. The full size beds. That was all that would fit in this room. Did I say the room was small? it was small! for 2 full size beds, that my feet hung off the end, my friend hardly had room to walk by between my feet and the chest of drawers. This place really reminded me of the motels that my dad used to take us kids to on route 66 heading back to Oklahoma. A good supply of towels and cloths were supplied in the bathroom. the linens were clean and white. the shower/tub combo was clean and scrubbed. you could smell the cleaner that she used. The place was small. The door to the bathroom opened into the bathroom and hit the toilet bowl so that door would only open half way. Most people would see this as a bad thing. It just didn't bother us. It defiantly is not up to handicap code... speaking of which, I don't know if anything in this room is up to code that way. Again, I think that this is a work in progress. the evening was cool and we are in the back of the property, unit 9, and unit 1 is in the front. It's a "strip" motel setup. we couldn't hear any street noise, and no noise from any of our neighbors. I sat outside till almost 9:30 enjoying the evening. They had coffee out at 7:00AM and "breakfast bars" Overall I do recommend this place. If you are looking for a full service motel with all the amenities this is not for you. If you are looking for a reasonable, clean, safe place to spend the night, and can put up with some small irregularities as I mentioned in this note, I think this is a good choice. As one more litmus test, I would bring my wife here if we were passing through this area gain. So a "qualified" 4 stars because they are doing a good job with what they have to work with. Improvement is needed, but good job! read more

This is a quaint little place that we really liked! It was CLEAN, comfortable and easy. The double bed felt bigger than I thought it would. I loved the 60's/70's style...it reminded me of my childhood home. The shower was cute with it's colorful tile. The room was updated with a flat screen TV which I liked. The hotel itself is decent. The fridge/freezer was dirty and smelled terrible like something was left in there. They say no smoking in the rooms but I found cigarette butts in our room. Sarah the owner is very unprofessional. The girls that work in the office and give us our keys and stuff are cool I didn't have any problems with them. Sarah hung up on me and called me names when I asked her if there were any available rooms. She claims she didn't but she said no and the called ended when I was in mid conversation. She says she's the one that books the rooms but no she is not she's not even at the hotel she owns. Two younger girls work in the office , when you call Sarah to book a room she's at the MAIN OFFICE that's not even close to the hotel. And I was told that by the girls that work in the office. I will not be going back and don't recommend dealing with it when there's so many other options. Hope this helped! read more

A big NO way. I have stayed in the past and it was decent. It has a good location but other then that it has NOTHING. Not clean and the management is BEYOND rude. I would rather sleep in my car then EVER give them any of MY money again. I hope to warn everyone that they need to bring shower shoes and be prepared to not have any problems otherwise the owner will be thrilled to tell them off. Spartan lodging right across the highway from Lake Isabella. Small rooms with little furnishings, but with a minimal kitchen (sink, microwave and refrigerator). Good AC (not a swamp cooler). Coffee, tea and home baked muffins int the morning. No shady place to sit outside. Owners are very friendly. They do not require a two night stay, even on weekends. read more
