Outstanding quality and service! I brought a dress for ironing/ pressing. I did not trust myself with the fabric. The owner immediately told me when I could pick up my item instead of asking me when I needed the dress back, which was refreshing. The dress looked amazing after the professional ironing. I have been going to this cleaners because the other one I used to go closed and the one that replaced it seemed a lot more expensive. I should have come here in the first place because it's near Raley's where I always shop. I found it to be the best. I've gone to a lot of dry cleaners when I lived in the LA area but I never have gotten the great service I get here. I had this wool vest my mom used to wear and I had it cleaned many times down south. The color of the back was dark lavender to grey. I always thought it was the way the material was dyed. Well, I was wrong. When I had Lakewood Cleaners clean it, the colors became more vibrant and the grey is gone. The owner asked me about the color when I brought it in the first time but I just shrugged. Now I know why. She did what she did and it looks a lot better. I also come here to get my clothes fixed, hemmed, etc. She always gets it right. I don't know what I'd do without her. read more

Hands down the BEST tailor I have been too. Over a year ago I searched frantically for a place that could take in a dress for me before a big birthday/wine event. She was the ONLY place I called that could have it done in time. Let me start off by saying that I am 5 feet tall, which means NOTHINGI buy fits me off the rack. I have had tops, trousers, jeans, and dresses all hemmed, taken in and/or modified. From really simple things like taking out zipper and closing it up to taking-in a really complicated dress. I have had her do at least 10 dresses some of which for big events like a wedding. Not only are my items always exactly how I ask her to do them she always has them done within a week. The women is also very friendly and has a lot of ideas on how to fix things if you are not sure. I am amazed that it has taken me this long to find a tailor that can he jeans correctly, I cannot tell you how many I have been to that can't even do that. So, price wise I would say she is a little more expensive than some poorer quality places but she is also cheaper than some really expensive places I have gone to in SR that do not do nearly as good of a job or with such a fast turnaround. Since frequenting her shop I have sent two girlfriends to have stuff done here and was both very pleased. As for the aesthetics of the place, I can't lie; I was slightly put off at first. If you have to try anything on she has a curtain, one of those curtains that don't fully close all the way like 6th grade camp style, right next to the store front window. This dry cleaning facility has always had my items done on the date promised. I've take in my coats two or more times that where missing a button, they fixed my problem at no additional charge. This is where I go when I buy new suits to get my pants fixed to the correct length. They check how the pants fit me and what length they will need to be placed at to fit me properly. read more

Where to start.... after my father going here for the last three years I came down from montana to visit for a few months while I am working. I asked if he could take two shirts in for me one was an $80 western Cinch brand shirt and the other a brand new, bought at the Santa Rosa REI, $70 Mountain Hardwear shirt. My father and I went in to pick up our clothes today we had tags for 16 items. After about 10 minutes of the owner playing games and switching hangers around I asked for all the original receipts we brought in she handed me 3 of the 4 and said " you dont trust me but your father does" I said your right I dont trust you where is the other receipt. She found it and told me they total up to the 15 items hanging there. I said 7 + 6 +1 + 2 is 16 not 15 so she admitted after 5 minutes of repeatedly adding them for her one was lost ( my Cinch shirt). I then noticed that the buttons were brown and wooden on my Mountain Hardware shirt and that only the top button was the original green synthetic button. Needless to say on the FIRST TIME EVER BEING WASHED they burned the buttons off of my shirt. The owner then proceded to tell me that my shirt had cheap buttons and was a cheap crappy shirt I told her that it was a $70 Mountain Hardwear technical shirt and that I felt she owed me somethinng for losing my shirt and destroying the other one. She said she didnt and she would do no more cleaning for me, at which time I walked out. If you want to be told that you dont know how to add the item totals and that your clothing is crap I would definately go to Lakewood Cleaners. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. If I could give negative stars, I would. After spending almost $90 on my first trip there, I had expectations of good results. Besides several of the shirts/cardigans being returned looking as though they'd been tossed in a washer (which I can do at home, free) the worst is that I took a new dress there, specifically for gentle handling, which had been lent to me by a co-worker. It was worn for a few hours for a cocktail party, then brought in immediately to be cleaned as a thank you, before returning to my coworker. This brand new dress comes back not only missing a button, but with almost every other button hanging by a thread. Threads which had previously not been exposed were hanging loose by the belt loops and the dress wasn't even hung properly, so that it was wrinkled by the time I got it home. So, they did a crappy job. I brought the dress in to give them an opportunity to make things right. Instead, after several minutes of debate, I was told by the lady in charge that "it was poor quality sewing" and not in any way their fault. She even disappeared to the back for a few minutes (supposedly looking for the lost button) came back and pulled another of the buttons off right in front of me, emphasizing that it was poor sewing quality at fault and not the fault of someone who asks you to pay upfront, and then refuses to take responsibility for the shoddy work they do. I let her know I was extremely disappointed, that at the very least, they should have notified me when picking up the garment that a button had come off and offered to replace it (I discovered the missing button when I got home - there was no note attached to the dress). She got really snarky and asked, "What do you want me to do, buy you a new dress?" With a "fat chance" tone. The dress is in no way of "poor quality." The opposite, in fact. And now I have to buy a new one for my co worker to replace what they have damaged. After her nasty reply, I stated that I wasn't there to argue, that she'd been given the opportunity to make things right but obviously had no desire to. I want be sure to let others know of the poor quality service provided by the establishment in hopes that nobody else has to be ripped off by these people. read more
